    Potato Gravlax
    Sadaf Q.

CUTEST little cafe in Pasadena!! You can't really tell from the outside but the inside is bigger than it looks. I am obsessed with the decor and vibes of this place. I got the potato gravlax and it was amazing! I was afraid it wouldn't be enough food (felt more like a small appetizer) but it actually ended up being decent sized and pretty filling. I also got a mushroom and cheese pastry. They have tons of pastries to choose from and the servers are really helpful in deciding what would be a good option to get. I enjoyed my brunch here and def plan to be back when I'm in the area. @octrailsandtreats on IG for more eats!

    Breakfast burrito with chicken

I placed a takeout order: breakfast burrito ($18.95) with chicken ($4 upcharge) omitting the cheddar cheese. I was disappointed it was served WITH cheese even though it was clearly marked on the wrapper "no cheese." Overall, the ingredients were fresh: potatoes, grilled chicken, bell pepper, and onions. I liked the house salsa served with the burrito. The order was ready within 15 minutes as promised. I would have given 5 stars if they had gotten my order right.

This was my first time coming to this restaurant. I haven't been to Pasadena in forever! So much has changed and I saw this restaurant on my instagram feed. So we decided to give it a try. I'm really picky with it comes to scones. But these scones were perfect! Soft on the inside, nice outer crust. Both the maple and blueberry scones are full of flavor. I think the maple is my favorite. The lovely girl that was helping us gave us a chocolate chip cookies for free! Which was so sweet of her. We told her we came a long way to try this restaurant out. I can't wait to go back and try their French onion soup. And other pastries too.

Super trendy vibe .... Walked in for a quick coffee break , seemed crowded and noisy . Ordered a latte to go , with one barista working the coffee bar with a lot of patrons didn't seem a little ideal during lunch time . Also noticed that she was trying to keep with a lot of orders all the while being polite to the patron chit chattering with her. The latte was alright ... had a tangy taste which I didn't dig much and it was a little pricy for $7 for a to go. Interestingly enough they serve tiramisu... I always wonder how Italian desserts taste at a French restaurant.... I'll give them another go ....maybe ..... if I feel in the mood for expensive.

What a gem we found in Pasadena! This place is just stunning. Our waitress was attentive and the service was top notch. The food was unapologetically scrumptious. I can't wait to go back and try more coffee and pastries.

Bravo Oh La La... à bientôt

Service was super friendly and helpful. The interior is beautifully decorated and clean. The smell of fresh baked pastries and bread hits you as soon as you walk in. We got the avocado tartine with a poached egg and the brioche eggs Benedict with drip coffee. Everything was delicious and seasoned perfectly. The tartine was huge and I was full for hours. We got the monkey bread, chocolate croissant, and kouign amann to go. The pastries were all clearly super fresh. Crisp on the outside, soft on the inside and melted in the mouth. Overall it was a bit pricey but definitely a great place for a special occasion or splurge brunch.

Definitely ohhhhh la la!! Loved the plants outside before entering. My friend & I were greeted and sat right away for Saturday for breakfast at 11 am. I couldn't stop staring at the beautiful restaurant!! The restaurant had hanging flowers (artificial) and the beautiful artwork on a white brick wall. It felt like we were on a coastal vacation. Brandon was our server and he was so nice and cheerful! I ordered an iced brown sugar cinnamon latte with almond milk with French toast. The drink was delicious and the French toast with berry sauce was the best I have ever had. The bread was fresh and moist. I ate it all baby!!! We also checked out the adorable hallway that led to the restrooms. 4 stars because parking was challenging to find and they charged $1.00 extra for adding almond milk to my drink. However, we will back for more memories.

The food was really good and the decoration was timeless. It felt like eating at a whimsical forest. I saw a big party having lunch which made the space really loud but we had left quickly after. They do have a time limit. Make sure you put in your reservations on OpenTable!! It saved us a lot of time Sunday morning :) full bellies and happy hearts when we left!

Sourdough, chocolate chip cookie, maple scones, chocolate almond croissant. All yummy treats!

I bought to go: a sourdough loaf, chocolate chip cookie, chocolate almond croissant, and maple scones. I loved pretty much everything! The bread! Crust was crunchy and the inside was soft and delicious! I'm not usually a fan of maple but I inhaled the scone. It was sweet and buttery and yummy. I could do without the salted top but that's just my preference. Same thing with the chocolate chip cookie. It was soft and delectable but I could have done without the sea salt on top. My absolute favorite was the croissant! Flaky, crispy top and the chocolate almond filling was perfect! Service was quick and friendly. I will be back!

A cute and cozy bakery and cafe in Pasadena. Lots of croissants, freshly baked bread and coffee. Also a sit down lunch area that very pleasant. I got a plain croissant and an iced latte to go but will be back to dine here cause their menu looked really good. The croissant was ok but the latte very watery and I had to throw it away after a few sips. Customer service was friendly and welcoming. Busy on weekend I can tell. So maybe I'll come back for lunch during the week and update my review. Overall a very nice lance to dine at

    Jambon Beurre

We've ordered from this bakery a few times in the past, mostly for their jamon buerre. I believe it was off the menu for a while (correct me if I'm wrong), but i saw it available once again so I decided to grab two today. Our previous experiences were great, however this time was extremely disappointing. For the price (~$16 per sandwich on Toast), you would expect more substance but this was how it was looking. One measly slice of ham and cheese, and the butter barely tasted present. I'm bummed that such a great recipe has been reduced to this poor excuse of a jamon buerre. Had I known this was what I was going to receive, then I would've spent the money on groceries to make SEVERAL mediocre ham sandwiches instead. The two stars come from the attitude of the server, Karla. She was extremely friendly and that was the only highlight of today's visit.

Came here on a Sunday with my cousins to catch up. We happened upon this place because it was a middle meeting point for each of us. I am so glad we came here because it's so gorgeous and inviting. I love aesthetically please places that feel warm and inviting. It's even better when the food supersedes the vibes. I ordered a Bellini which was super yummy. I wanted to try something different with my food selection so with the help of the waitress, I ordered the burguignon casserole. It's shortrib, english peas, carrots and crimini mushrooms. It's was the most delicious hearty dish I have had in a long while. It was simple amazing. The menu has so many options and they all look very delectable. I can't wait to return to try other pastries and entree items.

Do you have outdoor seating? Are you dog friendly?

Hi Jonah, Yes we have outdoor seating and are dog friendly!

Do people write / study here?

It is very large and spread out so I am sure you could find a quiet corner to write or study. They are also very casual and will not rush you out.

I will be bringing four separate French classes to do a field study here this coming semester if that's all right with you?

Please call the restaurant directly. I am just a customer :)

    Is this a French-owned business?

    Yes we are

Wondering what kind of almond milk they use in their lattes? It's really good -- which is rare!

Hi! We proudly carry Elmhurst Almond Milk, their milks are clean, non GMO, with no added gums or oils (like most other brands) and taste really good!

    Curious suggested parking info?

Street parking on Colorado Boulevard will always be a challenge. Be prepared to hunt some and wear good walking shoes. Maybe you’ll get lucky.

No parking, way too busy, way too full to seat us, a line bursting out the door, the tiny bakery cafe still seduced us. That is, Mr B circled the block in the car but pushed me out to get in line. It was the idea of a flaky, buttery, chocolate croissant crumbling all over his shirt that made him do it. And I had no intention of saying no. The line went quickly. The last Kouign Amann had just escaped my clutches to the guy in front of me, darn it. But there were still trays upon trays of freshly baked, massive chocolate croissants displayed in their custom, wood display case right next to the register. It had almost no flavor and tasted watered down, especially for the price. I expected a quality drink, but it was bland and absolutely not worth what I paid. To make matters worse, we were told to leave the patio an hour before the shop was even closing. If the patio has different hours, that should be clearly communicated instead of asking paying customers to leave early. Overall, this was a frustrating experience. Between the unfriendly service, flavorless coffee, and being asked to leave well before closing, I won't be coming back. There are plenty of other cafés in Pasadena that offer much better coffee and treat their customers with respect.

We chose outdoor since it was such a nice day out. They have all of their desserts on display in the case, so you can peruse the options and see what looks good. So many of the desserts looked good, like the matcha yuzu chiffon crepe cake or the rose and lychee crepe cake. We ordered via the kiosk and got the mango sunshine souffle pancake ($16.50) and well as a couple drinks. My drink was the white peach lemon jasmine bliss ($6.25), with 50% sweetness and less ice. Even though there are signs everywhere saying that it takes 15-20 minutes for the souffle pancakes to be cooked, ours came out super quickly, in 5 minutes or so. We got it with the sauce on the side, but I regret doing that as I saw others getting it with the sauce on top and it was beautiful. The pancake was super fluffy and a bit eggy as well. We all really enjoyed it with the mango sauce. I made the mistake of eating the pancake first before trying a sip of my tea. The pancake was pretty sweet, so I could barely taste my drink, but I think it was good? I could taste a bit of the lemon but definitely not the white peach, which is a lighter flavor. I got a slice of their Hokkaido cheese cake roll for $7 to go and had it the next day. It was okay but definitely a bit pricy for what you get. I'd love to come back to try their other desserts and pancakes!

It is not really cute or aesthetic in any way... and the whole place could use a refresh. There is a covered patio with a few tables outside but at the moment it is a bit haphazard and not the nicest because the space next door is doing construction & there is a large dumpster on Green Street. We ordered Black tea & Floral Pineapple Blossom tea drinks, Peach Crepe Cake and a Peach Souffle Pancake ($17.50) via the kiosk. When you order, you receive a text that lets you know your order number, has a receipt, and also an expected time of delivery. The drinks were ready about 15 minutes. They were both fine, and prepared correctly. The peach crepe cake was brought out a few minutes later. My mom enjoyed it and it looked very pretty. Then the time that the entire order was supposed to be ready came and went. I checked in with Nick at the counter and he said that my souffle pancake would be ready in 5 minutes. About 7 minutes later, when my mom was done with her cake. Nick brought it over and set it down in next to me. It was jiggly, huge, and very wobbly. I slid it over so it was in front of me, and the top pancake fell off of the stack, and flipped over so the whipped cream side was on the counter. I tried to flip it back over and put it on top of the stack, but it fell apart. At this point, I was so frustrated with the situation and grossed out by the possibility of eating whipped cream and pancake that had been on the counter, that I asked Nick to remedy the situation. He offered to make a new pancake, but since this one had taken 40 minutes to come out, I was not willing to wait that long again. He kindly offered an alternative suggestion which I accepted. I tried the Creme Brulee crepe cake which was mildly flavored and pretty tasty. (Maybe I should have just gotten it in the first place, but I had really wanted to try the souffle pancake which I've since & sadly lost interest in.) With that, we bid Motto adieu, and it is unlikely that I will return. A few additional notes: Parking in the area is metered and $1.25/hr with a max of 2 hours, the single bathroom is functional, but there is some problem with the ceiling (there is a gaping hole covered by plastic) making for an unpleasant and potentially unsanitary situation. This should be remedied immediately! Peace.
