Cute but very busy place! Came here after I found out the original coffee shop I wanted to try near the area is closed on Sundays. Republik is pretty big inside, with lots of outdoor space and seating as well. It was very busy when we arrived, and there was a line, but it moved pretty quickly and I got my order in a decent amount of time. I saw they had an Ube latte, so of course that is what I ordered, and it did not disappoint. Very flavorful and delicious. Service was good, and the baristas were all busy but took the time to greet everyone and thank them as we all picked up our orders. I love the colors and flavors of the avocado toast. The avocado was incredibly fresh. The cherry tomatoes were robust And crisp. The addition of the pumpkin seeds and black sesame seeds added to the flavor. I ordered a vanilla latte with cinnamon in it hands-down there's the best vanilla latte I've ever had. The ambiance and store decoration is really nice and cozy. Staffs were friendly. And they have many great specialty espresso that are unique but also is the price, which tend to be on the higher side especially consider the portions and quantity that you are getting of the price that you pay. I saw the sign that said bakes good happy hour 50% off after 3 pm. Well that was misleading. So everything that I ordered, the cookies and cake are not part of the sale. I wish they were more clear about that. I thought it was 1/2 off which is why I ordered so many to start out with. The taste of the bake good, however, are good and not too sweet which is great. The chocolate chip cookie was meh, there are better ones in Pasadena. The pistachio cooking was good. And the green tea cake was amazing. Iced london fog (so different and nice every once in a while if you like a london fog) 3. i really wanted to give this location a better star review because i really loooveee the republik coffee in Burbank!! i stopped by here early morning before work on March 19th @7:16am and thankfully there was parking in the front. i really like how this location is a bit bigger than the one in Burbank. As i walked in it was pretty empty inside which was nice because I didn't have to wait too long. The gentleman who took my order was really nice. i ordered myself the iced lavender and honey matcha latte with oat milk & i got my coworker the salted caramel cold brew. The barista was a nice lady however i do have to say that i was not too happy with my matcha latte. My matcha had more milk than actual matcha which tasted like i was drinking a cup of milk. it was just too much. i feel like the barista didn't measure the matcha properly with the milk or something. thankfully, with the straw i could taste the lavender + the honey in the bottom of the drink which sort of saved it. i did not want to say anything because i had to be at work. My co worker did enjoy her cold brew. Came in on a Sunday afternoon and got the Vietnamese cold brew! The line was kind of long but loved by fast and I got my drink quick. I really wanted to love it because it said there was coconut juice and cold foam on top but it I kind of got bored of the flavor after some time. It's definitely not Vietnamese coffee lol but it's a nice creamy and surprisingly refreshing drink! I couldn't finish it which is rare for me but it started to just taste like a regular vanilla cold brew. Came here since I was near by for an event and was a bit hungry. I have to say I was happy with my choices. I got a strawberry matcha, which was so delicious. This is a charming cafe with good decor, lots of space and buzzing with people. Although I had to take my drink to go, I would have enjoyed sitting there for a bit and enjoying the vibe. I stopped in right after an appointment across the street and wanted to pick up a quick coffee. The barista was working incredibly quickly and appeared to be very skilled and professional. Several employees were also making drinks or prepping drinks. I would give the place five stars had they not lost my order. The ticket never made it to the queue. After watching everyone who came in after me get their drinks, I asked about it. They found the ticket and made the drink, but it still took several more minutes. I would have preferred an apology for the glitch but nothing was said. I was 15 minutes late to my appointment because of all the waiting time. It was difficult to pick a drink because so many sounded great. Such a cool place to hang out, though parking may be a bit tough. There's street parking in the area but there is a 2 hour limit. I typically get their matcha and ham and cheese croissant. Their croissant is nothing like you'd get from other places. They seem to have added a sugary glaze on top, which creates a very interesting contrasting flavor with the ham and cheese. Jose, I'm addressing this review directly to you because the experience my husband and I had today at your shop was beyond horrible. We came in for the first time today around 1:30pm to get a coffee on our walk. We only had a very brief moment to look over the menu, and it was our first time visiting. When it was our time to order, the barista "Matty the baddie" did not greet us. Just stared at us. We asked if it was possible to get the Vietnamese coffee with nondairy condensed coconut milk that was also listed on the menu. Very sternly, he let us know that wasn't possible since the Vietnamese coffee was premade. This is understandable, but he spoke to us like we were stupid and did not offer any other suggestions. Since we wanted to be mindful of the people behind us, we just ordered a regular cold brew. We watched the barista pour our cold brew, which was clearly the end of the batch because the spout was struggling to fill the cup. He pushed the drink at us, and we left. As we started walking and drinking, we immediately had to spit out the cold brew. It was HORRENDOUS. It tasted old and burnt and genuinely was not drinkable. My husband went back in and stood in line and once he got to the front let the same barista know of the issue. He did not offer to make us a different drink or rectify the drink. He gave my husband a disgusting amount of attitude and just processed a refund. Trying to be courteous, my husband then asked if he should leave the drink at the front with them or throw it away? And Matty told him to "do whatever he wants." I'm not sure if this is the standard at Republik Coffee, but allowing your barista to treat and speak to a customer like this is wild. Went for the lavender & oat + crush cardamom oat latte -- long story short: crush cardamom for that more familiar chai feeling whereas the lavender syrup tended to become stronger over time and made the latte lose its identity. Latte was made really well; oat milk was.a very silky texture that started off a little hot, however was a warming drink after it cooled off a little bit. There was a mild tone of earthy caramel, and it takes a backseat to the sweetness. Overall, quality wise it's pretty good; I just don't exactly agree with all of their recipes/ratios. read more

Poor customer service over something so small We came in for breakfast and were about to spend around $60 on breakfast. I had an almost-empty coffee from another café because we came specifically for the breakfast here, not the drinks. After sitting for about 5-7 minutes, a staff member approached me and said there were no outside drinks allowed and asked me to put my cup inside one of theirs. I understand if that's the policy, but the way it was said felt abrupt and unnecessarily uncomfortable. It really seemed like the owner walked by, saw my cup, and sent the employee over to say something. Here's the confusing part: this place is called Republic Café, yet there's one barista making drinks for an almost full restaurant, and charging $5-6 for an Americano. How is anyone supposed to trust the quality of the coffee under those conditions? The food is good -- I'll give them that -- but between the wall of wine, the café branding, and the mediocre coffee setup, it feels like they haven't decided what they're trying to be. We were here for the food, and instead we left with a really negative impression over something that could've been handled so much better. This coffee shop is almost always busy, so we stopped in today to give it a shot. It's pretty loud for a coffee shop, but it seems intentional as it's more of a chat and converse vibe than study and relax vibe given that they serve food and alcohol as well. On the weekends they have live music (at least on the Saturday we went), and the place felt really nice and fancy compared to most coffee shops.
