What a cute coffee spot! Located in this cool black building/alleyway called Burlington Arcade. I read that it is a reminiscent of historic London. Such a cute spot to get all your Instagram/social media content in. This is a grab n go kinda place especially since their capacity is only four customers allowed inside. But there are SOME tables & chairs located outside. Don't count on it if it's the weekend since it'll be busy and most likely they'll all be occupied. But on a weekday? Pure bliss and relaxation. My iced sea salt coconut latte was delicious and my sister enjoyed her iced matcha latte. Service was friendly and our drinks were made quickly. Love this hidden (or not so hidden) local charm.

Nice location and good drinks. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was a steady flow of customers. The actual size of the cafe is pretty small so they allow about 4 customers inside at a time. We ordered the honey yuzu and the Uji matcha. They were both pretty good. The yuzu was refreshing and the matcha really had a strong depth of flavor. Actually for me it was a little too strong but I think maybe perfect for someone who likes a stronger matcha flavor. I will have to try their house matcha next time. There isn't any seating inside the cafe but there is outdoor seating in the shopping area.

Came here on a Sunday around 8:40am. There were about 8 people in front of us and it took about 10 minutes to get to the register. They only allow 4 people inside at a time so that explains why there's always a line. I've come before on the weekend around 11am and the line has been 15-20 people deep. The times I've been I've had the Matcha tonic, Iced Mocha and Gui Hua Latte (only comes hot). The Gui Hua latte solidified why this place is so hyped and deservingly so. The drinks are handcrafted, well made and have a unique flavor profile to them. My wife also ordered an iced Vienna Latte and that one is really good as well. The iced Matcha tonic is refreshing as it comes with a yuzu hit. We recently had the spinach croissant as well and we enjoyed it. Sometimes they carry @crumbsandflakesla pastries and those are to die for. The surrounding area near Mandarin coffee stand is also pretty unique it takes the vibe of alleys in London. There's no bar or table seating inside the coffee stand itself and they only allow a few people in at a time. Make sure to get here early or you could be waiting 20 minutes just to order. This place does live up to the hype and I'd say is one of the top 5, maybe even top 3 coffee spots in Pasadena.

This was a very cute cafe in Pasadena. There is a line out of the door but the service is quick and the staff are nice. There are also lots of menus posted outside for you to browse while you wait. There are several drink options and pastries offered. Outside, there are lots of tables and chairs in the hallway to relax and catch up. The Uji matcha latte tasted quality, and was unsweetened which I liked. My friend got the Vienna Latte and it was very good! It's on the sweeter side bc of the sweet cream but still tastes like quality coffee.

Small coffee spot with a bit of a wait, you line up outside and get called in when it's your turn but it moves pretty smoothly and is worth it. The service was really great once inside, and both the coffee and matcha were very good. It's a simple setup, but they do the basics really well. I'd definitely come back.

Long line on a Sunday morning, but went by quickly. Location is small and fast-paced. Ordering style is pretty efficient. They call you up to enter & order, and limit 4 people inside at a time. Drink came out quickly, ordered 2 Vienna iced lattes for $14. It was enjoyable to sip on, not overly sweet.

I've been to Mandarin Coffee Stand a few times now and always leave satisfied! Every time I've gone on weekdays there has been a line, so I'd imagine it's even longer on weekends. If you own a Tesla, there is a supercharger location right in the parking lot so it makes for a good caffeination stop while charging your electric car. I've had the Toasty, Vienna Latte, Gui Hua Latte and Matcha Tonic with the Toasty being my favorite of the bunch that I keep coming back for. They have a bunch of pastry options that I want to try but they seem to sell out quite early! I have had the Sesame Pretzel croissant though and it was so fire - highly recommended! Mandarin Coffee Stand is such a great little shop in the cutest little area! I will absolutely be back!

I go out of my way to make a pitstop here. It is by far one of my favorite coffee shops to visit for create drinks that tie me back to flavors I grew up with. Cute and quaint is the way I'd describe the vibes. With no more than 4 people allowed in the shop at once, there's almost always a line in front and seating is limited to a few out in the arcade courtyard. I usually like to take my drinks to go so I can grab a pain au chocolat at C.A.R down the street but sometimes I'll linger if a table opens up. They team up with different microbakeries on weekends to host popups, my fave being crumbs and flakes, so that keeps the pastry rotation interesting. My drink of choice now, having tried a few items off the menu, will forever be their gui hua (osmanthus) latte. No one can convince me otherwise. Everyone I know who has tried it, has loved it. While there are a ton of hyped coffee shops and cafes, this one is definitely not one of them.

More of a grab and go spot, very limited space inside that they limit capacity to 4 guest inside and rest of the line is outside. However, there are handful of small table with seats in the outdoor corridor area. We visited on a Monday late morning and line seems to be non stop as well. Not sure what other people like about this spot but my taste buds could differ. "Toasty" -my colleague ordered this and my initial sip was good not knowing what she ordered. After confirming that it should be coffee, there was not a trace of any coffee flavor. It was more of a light milk tea with a lot of cinnamon. But overall, pretty watered down. Vienna Latte -espresso wasn't as strong as I'd like. After mixing in the sweet cream, it was bit too creamy. Not bad but also not great.. Matcha Latte -not good at all, very watered down. Not much matcha flavor nor was it creamy either.

    Tiffany H.

I ordered the hojicha latte and it had a decently strong hojicha flavor but it was grainy. My friends ordered the matcha latte and matcha tonic and both were pretty good! I can see how the lattes can taste like pure milk with a splash of matcha powder since the powder settles a bit if you're not mixing it but overall it's not bad! Wouldn't say it's the best though. Costs around $7/$8 per drink so a bit on the pricier end. Service was excellent, I received my order within a couple minutes of ordering. There was a long line when I was there on a Sunday afternoon. There is some seating outside the store but no seating or area to drink inside. Only 4 people are allowed in the store at a time since they usually have long lines. Parking is available in the back with other shared businesses. Don't think I'd come back though but worth a try!

Don't be intimidated by the line out front. It goes by faster than you think! I like the Vienna Latte. It's nothing too special, and a bit on the pricier side, but it gets the job done. The arcade is also nice to wander around, but good luck finding a seat!

    Vanilla bean latte
    Mai T.

I was visiting the area and wanted to try this place based on the many positive reviews. This place seems to be good for just locals because the staff only greeted customers they knew but did not greet or provide a friendly acknowledgement when I ordered or picked up my coffee when it was ready. Service aside, my vanilla bean latte was decently good. The vanilla bean was shaved on the top only. I doubt I will return for just the coffee alone.

This could be one of SoCals Finest Coffee Shops and I dont use that term lightly. Tucked in a covered, attractive "arcade", the only sign that says you have arrived is a small Postcard sized sign that says "Mandarin." The shop is small, take out only but there is covered seating just outside underneath a sunroof. A small sign says since the shop is small, only four folks allowed in the store at once. Once you order, good idea just to wait the short while until your order is up. There is a rope outside in case there is a line outside, and there usually is, since this is a gem of a place. Hours are 8 to 3pm Their mixologist produces creative, but flavorful drinks, without being over bearing, or silly or sweet. Small batched coffee from Guatemala and other parts around the world.. along with tea. All high quality and Ive tried both their whole bean coffee and Chai. The usual suspects of Pastries are in a clear case as you order in case you want something to go with your coffee tea. I always stick to the Matcha Tonic. Ive only seen one other shop elsewhere do this drink but not as great as Mandarin. Definitely make it a must next time you are cruising Lake or near Pasadena

We arrived just after they opened at 7am and were quite literally the first customers of the day. Thanks for opening your doors to us! This place is such a unique blend: part hip-hop vinyl shop, part artsy cafe, and all-around good vibes. The music selection is top notch, and I loved browsing the cute merch and randomly awesome stationery items. Service was super friendly. My husband had a great conversation with one of the guys behind the counter about the shop's minimalist decor, and we learned Two Kids has been thriving for 10 years. I hadn't been in since right around the pandemic, so it was heartwarming to see they made it through and are still flourishing. The espresso was absolutely luscious, and as a bonus, we got the prettiest latte art with hearts in our drinks, big love for that! Really wish I had more time to hang out on the comfy couches in the middle of the shop and soak in some vinyl tunes. Can't wait to come back and spend a morning here the right way, highly recommended!

The one issue I have with them is they show a loyalty program in terms of entering your phone number -- if you order online as well as the register. But I've never gotten any points. I once asked the owner about it and he claimed that they do in fact give out items, and said he would check on it that night when I told him the situation. But he never actually asked my name and info, and I've still never received any points since, despite having ordered here about twice a week for the past several weeks. It's not a deal breaker but it's strange.

Found seating outside but moved some plates ourselves from one table to another to find shade for us the kiddo. Grabbed a high chair and got seating set up. A few folks were setting up to play music out on the patio. We ordered inside as expected, thankfully the line wasn't too bad at that time so it went smoothly, though the prices are still higher than the average mom/pop sandwich place (but we anticipated this). We waited a bit for food while the patio band played. Ambience was pretty nice. Our friend's sandwich came out first and about 5 minutes later our food came. However, the Arnold Palmer we ordered didn't arrive with the food so we asked if they'd come back to bring it, and we were told they'd be right back. We waited probably another 5 minutes but drink still didn't come so I went inside to ask about it and saw the drink sitting on the back counter. So I asked staff if I could pick up the drink and they handed it over. Our friend's sandwich (the Jester) looked pretty filling while wife and I ordered/shared the Crown Jewel with cheese and mayo on the side. The Crown Jewel was pretty meh overall. Wasn't as stacked as the Jester and the bread fell apart as I ate it, despite the mayo on the side. At the end of eating someone came by to grab our order numbers and ask how things went. I commented on the wait for the drink and was told they couldn't find us, which sounded strange because they found us when bringing the sandwich and we still had our order number. But she said we could get a free refill. Since I wanted to take advantage of the refill I went inside to inquire but the order counter had gotten extremely busy. So I asked one of the bus/wait staff outside if they could grab my refill. He directed me inside and he commented how busy they were but I said I didn't want to wait in the huge line simply for a refill, so he offered to meet me inside to get the refill. Eventually I did receive the refill and we left. Overall, for the price of the food I felt the service was very average bordering on subpar, and the food was meh for the price. I don't blame the staff as they all seemed to be working very hard, but perhaps they were understaffed which would be more of a management issue. We basically bussed a couple tables on our own and waited what eventually amounted to 20-25 minutes for an ice tea/lemonade. I pre-tipped when I bought the food, which I kind of regretted but also felt bad that the employees were understaffed so I likely would have left a tip anyways. I don't plan to go back anytime soon. Wish the food and service were better
