Stopped in at Two Kids on a Friday morning ruck walk through South Pas and couldn't have picked a better spot to refuel! We arrived just after they opened at 7am and were quite literally the first customers of the day. Thanks for opening your doors to us! This place is such a unique blend: part hip-hop vinyl shop, part artsy cafe, and all-around good vibes. The music selection is top notch, and I loved browsing the cute merch and randomly awesome stationery items. Service was super friendly. My husband had a great conversation with one of the guys behind the counter about the shop's minimalist decor, and we learned Two Kids has been thriving for 10 years. I hadn't been in since right around the pandemic, so it was heartwarming to see they made it through and are still flourishing. The espresso was absolutely luscious, and as a bonus, we got the prettiest latte art with hearts in our drinks, big love for that! Really wish I had more time to hang out on the comfy couches in the middle of the shop and soak in some vinyl tunes. Great spot for a grab and go matcha! Such a cute space that has some seating but also has signs saying that the don't allow laptops - so unfortunately not somewhere to work from. However, still a great spot for reading or socializing! I didn't try and pastures but they looked good and the staff was super friendly. Menu is written for people who mfiht not be familiar with coffee shop terms, but still the same items you'd find at any cafe! I've had two kids on my radar for a while and finally got to try it on a Saturday after the morning rush. I got the Matcha w/milk and it was okay. The taste was okay but it was a bit clumpy. They have no available electrical outlets and no customer internet.) I arrived at Two Kids (South Pasadena) on Tuesday (around 12:28PM). Parking is free and available. Two Kids (South Pasadena) is located across from South Pasadena City Hall. There's a competitive, free lot in the rear; it's a "4 Hour Parking Limit." Also, there's available, competitive free street parking. Staff is very mellow, professional, and respectful. Staff politely answered all my questions, and Staff felt very low stress. This location is surprisingly popular, and Staff easily breaks into friendly conversation. My drink took about three minutes. As mentioned, I ordered the Espresso w/ Milk & Chai ($6.75 - Iced). The drink is very underwhelming, but it's 1000% better than any chain coffee joint. The Espresso w/ Milk & Chai had a light enduring caffeine, and its flavor is very basic and simple. I would not drive a long distance for these drinks, but if I lived in the immediate area, this business is an easy spot to incorporate into a daily routine. It's affordable and good enough. On ambiance, Two Kids (South Pasadena) happily embraces its "just good enough" features. It lacks many basic amenities; there's no restroom, no customer internet, and no electrical outlets. They proudly have MANY little signs proclaiming how it's a "laptop free establishment." The location is also small; there's about two counter tables and three tiny stool tables. However, Two Kids (South Pasadena) is comfortable. I especially appreciated the air purifier and the strong ventilation. The place felt airy and refreshing. Also, the stereo system is very clear and with chill music. They even had one tiny bottle of hand sanitizer by the counter. It's also very animal friendly since I saw customers walk inside with their dogs on the leash. Overall, Two Kids (South Pasadena) feels built to serve the local community. With some time on my hands, I decided to head over to Two Kids Coffee to grab my morning pick-me up. On a Friday morning was not too busy at 8:30am and waited for 5-10 minutes to order my Americano. But it was a wait that didn't feel like minutes, rather it felt like seconds. The warm atmosphere of a modern Coffee Bar with minimal decoration and soft music playing in the background with the soft morning sun gleaming a tad through the window made from some cozy and cinematic vibes. My coffee came out and tasted so smooth and heart warming. It was hot but not too hot, just enough to get the cold out of my hands and heart. I sat outside where there were some chairs and enjoyed the peace of a Friday morning. Definitely a 10/10 morning for me. Stopped by Two Kids Coffee in South Pasadena and wow this place seriously blew me away. I ordered their brown sugar latte and it was hands down one of the best coffees I've had in a long time. Perfectly balanced, smooth, not overly sweet... just done right. It was so good I ordered a second one before I left. The shop itself has that cozy, small coffee shop vibe that makes you want to hang out for a bit, super welcoming and laid back. The staff was friendly, the energy was great, and they've got some really cool merch that actually makes you want to buy it (not just the usual logo stuff). If you're anywhere near South Pasadena, this spot is a must. Amazing coffee, great atmosphere, and clearly a place that cares about what they're putting out. Came on a Sunday around 9:30 with no line and still waited about five minutes just to order because the staff was moving so slowly. One barista kept chatting with a customer and giving me weird looks, which my friend noticed too. By the time they took my order, the line was out the door. The drink itself was delicious, espresso with chai and their house-made almond milk, but $8.25 for a Starbucks-tall size is just too much. Trendy space, limited seating. Excellent drip, lattes & all other drinks I've ever had here! Any pastry I've ever had here was five stars - delicious. Also, they have a kitchen and I've had their toasts as well, and they were perfection!! Service is the loveliest in town! Friendly, welcoming, engaging and looking to please their customer with their amazing product. The lobby has counter seating, facing the street, which makes for great people watching & talking to strangers. There are other random chairs around for seating in the lobby, as well as Adirondack chairs lining the front of the shop. The lobby also has a refrigerator with some of their to-go products & canned cold items, as well as shop merchandise (t-shirts & hats usually), and many other specialty products, which are really unique and cool, such as ceramic mugs, interesting books, stationary, pens/pencils (Japanese), bags, candles, matches with holders, even rugs at times. Really unique and cool merchandise. The music they play is always cool as well. 50% of the time I'm Shazaming on the DL when I'm there ^_^ lol Parking is really easy around this coffee shop, too. Two Kids is sincerely every one of the five stars I am rating them. Upon entering, I immediately felt the warm, welcoming environment I've heard so much about. With tasteful decor and old-school hip-hop playing in the background, I knew I was in for a treat. The service was lovely, and I ordered an iced espresso with house-made almond milk, adding their house-made vanilla syrup. The almond milk is the best I ever had (I usually despise it), and it's apparent it was thoughtfully crafted. The latte was very well balanced, and the espresso is high quality with no bitterness whatsoever However, it was $8.50 for an iced vanilla latte with almond milk. While it was delicious, I can get its equivalent in quality and taste elsewhere for $6. The steep price knocked it down to 4/5 for me. I believe the establishment would do well and get more traction if they consider lowering the prices to something more reasonable and comparable to other similar coffee shops. read more

This little coffee shop has the greatest dirty chai I've ever had. I want to try other drinks but I honestly can't bring myself to miss out on the chai. Service is the thing that is spotty. I hate walking into a place and not being acknowledged. Like at all. The space is tiny. The employees are right there in front of you and the cashier/counter person was doing things for a full 2 minutes about directly in front of me standing at the counter, before she walked away and never said "hi, be with you in a second" or anything. She did however walk to the front of the place and chatted with a regular or friend for a bit before coming back and still not saying anything to me. The guy making drinks saw that I was just getting ignored and walked over to help me. Got my chai and left with a bad taste in my mouth, despite having a great drink in my hand. Customers can ogle on the art with their drinks or chill in the back by the coffee bar beside a wall of blue-bird wallpaper. I was perfunctorily greeted by a female staff. I always get almond milk as an alternative milk when I can at coffee shops and I was so happy to hear that Two Kids specialize in their own house-made almond milk. I came on a Monday morning and the place was pretty busy. There are no tables, but they have single seat couches and counters with stools by the window and by the cash register. Not so much a study spot. There is free street parking in front of the shop. I got their espresso with almond milk hot with their house-made vanilla syrup and it was so good. The espresso was rich and their almond milk was creamy and smooth. The vanilla syrup gave the coffee a good amount of sweetness that I enjoyed. This is a cute little coffee/tea house in South Pasadena near a collection of gift, antique and specialty stores. Along with coffee and tea, the store also cells ceramics and is connected to the store next door. Like nearly every store in this locale, Two Kids Coffee closes early. Realy early. 1pm during the week and weekend. However, the iced tea I ordered was great (it was an oolong) and very refreshing on a hot day. Service was kind and quick. Hmm not my cup of coffee. I ordered an espresso with milk and would say it was a bit sour for my liking. I'd like to add that my experience was a bit unpleasant but not related to the drink itself. While I was waiting in line the I felt like I was getting more sleepy. Not sure if it was their intent but the lights are pretty dim and there was this one that was sort of strobing light that bothered me the whole time I was there. It was a bit odd that the menu on the wall was faded and they only had the paper one on the counter. I'd say the people there made the place a lot more inviting but I don't think I'll be coming back anytime soon. I would still recommend this spot if to those who like light roast coffees! I've never written a review in my life, but just saw the 4.5 rating and was aghast. BEST LATTE IN THE ENTIRE WORLD. PERIOD. (With the almond milk) I'm not kidding. Been to Paris, lived in New York. Nothing touches their latte. The staff here is incredibly kind, remembers names and are happy to see you.
