    No working just socializing.

Do you want to kick it with the cool kids? If so, then head on over to Two Kids in South Pasadena. Founded by Ryan Ramirez & Danah Mangahis, two architects with a love for coffee culture, this minimalistic coffee bar has a modern feel and a cozy vibe. The first thing you notice is the artistic mural on the back wall by Peter Vu. The blue bird wallpaper behind the coffee bar is also visually appealing. The café is open and spacious with couches to sit on, so it seems like you are in someone's living room. There is also interesting merchandise available for purchase. However, Wi-Fi is not available; thus, encouraging customers to socialize and engage in conversation. The menu is basic and not saturated with fancy drink options. (Almond milk & vanilla syrup are both made in house.) They also offer a few breakfast items in addition to fresh pastries baked daily by Seed Bakery except on Monday's, then you'll find baked goods from Proof Bakery. The gal at the register was friendly. I ordered a Hot Brew ($5) and enjoyed the old-school hip-hop tunes while she prepared my order. The coffee was bold, rich, & smooth. A prefect eye-opener that gave me the fuel I needed to get through my busy day. *Free street parking.

We were taking a stroll around South Pasadena and came to Two Kids to start our day with coffee. I got a regular almond latte and I'm not really a fan of the expresso they used. There was a line out of the door when we waited in line and there are a few seats to sit and study. Service was so quick that by the time I sat down, my drink was ready. The place was also clean and minimalist.

With some time on my hands, I decided to head over to Two Kids Coffee to grab my morning pick-me up. On a Friday morning was not too busy at 8:30am and waited for 5-10 minutes to order my Americano. But it was a wait that didn't feel like minutes, rather it felt like seconds. The warm atmosphere of a modern Coffee Bar with minimal decoration and soft music playing in the background with the soft morning sun gleaming a tad through the window made from some cozy and cinematic vibes. My coffee came out and tasted so smooth and heart warming. It was hot but not too hot, just enough to get the cold out of my hands and heart. I sat outside where there were some chairs and enjoyed the peace of a Friday morning. Definitely a 10/10 morning for me. Parking is relatively easy and free around the neighborhood and plaza across the street, so if your nearby, please come through and enjoy a cup and relax!

Stopped by Two Kids Coffee in South Pasadena and wow this place seriously blew me away. I ordered their brown sugar latte and it was hands down one of the best coffees I've had in a long time. Perfectly balanced, smooth, not overly sweet... just done right. It was so good I ordered a second one before I left. The shop itself has that cozy, small coffee shop vibe that makes you want to hang out for a bit, super welcoming and laid back. The staff was friendly, the energy was great, and they've got some really cool merch that actually makes you want to buy it (not just the usual logo stuff). If you're anywhere near South Pasadena, this spot is a must. Amazing coffee, great atmosphere, and clearly a place that cares about what they're putting out. I'll definitely be back, probably sooner than later.

$8.25 for this size espresso and chai

Came on a Sunday around 9:30 with no line and still waited about five minutes just to order because the staff was moving so slowly. One barista kept chatting with a customer and giving me weird looks, which my friend noticed too. By the time they took my order, the line was out the door. The drink itself was delicious, espresso with chai and their house-made almond milk, but $8.25 for a Starbucks-tall size is just too much. Trendy space, limited seating. Good coffee, but with the slow service and high prices I won't be returning.

A modern coffee bar, with soft vibing music playing in the background. Limited seating, but nonetheless a nice place to chill and drink your coffee. The staff was nice and fast with their services. I ordered their Brown Sugar Latte which was pretty good. I also ordered one of their pastries, the strawberry apple pie, which was good, more so apple than strawberry.

Upon entering, I immediately felt the warm, welcoming environment I've heard so much about. With tasteful decor and old-school hip-hop playing in the background, I knew I was in for a treat. The service was lovely, and I ordered an iced espresso with house-made almond milk, adding their house-made vanilla syrup. The almond milk is the best I ever had (I usually despise it), and it's apparent it was thoughtfully crafted. The latte was very well balanced, and the espresso is high quality with no bitterness whatsoever However, it was $8.50 for an iced vanilla latte with almond milk. While it was delicious, I can get its equivalent in quality and taste elsewhere for $6. The steep price knocked it down to 4/5 for me. I believe the establishment would do well and get more traction if they consider lowering the prices to something more reasonable and comparable to other similar coffee shops.

Excellent drip, lattes & all other drinks I've ever had here! Any pastry I've ever had here was five stars - delicious. Also, they have a kitchen and I've had their toasts as well, and they were perfection!! Service is the loveliest in town! Friendly, welcoming, engaging and looking to please their customer with their amazing product. The lobby has counter seating, facing the street, which makes for great people watching & talking to strangers. There are other random chairs around for seating in the lobby, as well as Adirondack chairs lining the front of the shop. The lobby also has a refrigerator with some of their to-go products & canned cold items, as well as shop merchandise (t-shirts & hats usually), and many other specialty products, which are really unique and cool, such as ceramic mugs, interesting books, stationary, pens/pencils (Japanese), bags, candles, matches with holders, even rugs at times. Really unique and cool merchandise. The music they play is always cool as well. 50% of the time I'm Shazaming on the DL when I'm there ^_^ lol Parking is really easy around this coffee shop, too. Two Kids is sincerely every one of the five stars I am rating them. It is one of the best coffee shops around and so far there has never been a ridiculous line out the door - thankfully & almost unbelievable, but I'm very grateful for that!

Two Kids, are more like cool kids of coffee. I'm not from around the area, but I try to stop by when I can! Love their lattes here and recently tried the Philippines Mt. Apo beans, 10/10! Super smooth and good flavor profile! Recommend to try it if you stop by! Easy parking around the shop, narrow walk in, but you can find your way around the shop to wait for your drink pretty easily! My only vice when I come in, I somehow always try to look for a menu to see, but I forget it's not posted lol, so make sure unless you already know what you'll order, there are folded menus by the register . The staff are always helpful, you just gotta ask!

The dirty chai- hot with house made almond milk. Best drink in a 5mi radius.
    Ivan M.

This little coffee shop has the greatest dirty chai I've ever had. I want to try other drinks but I honestly can't bring myself to miss out on the chai. Service is the thing that is spotty. I hate walking into a place and not being acknowledged. Like at all. The space is tiny. The employees are right there in front of you and the cashier/counter person was doing things for a full 2 minutes about directly in front of me standing at the counter, before she walked away and never said "hi, be with you in a second" or anything. She did however walk to the front of the place and chatted with a regular or friend for a bit before coming back and still not saying anything to me. The guy making drinks saw that I was just getting ignored and walked over to help me. Got my chai and left with a bad taste in my mouth, despite having a great drink in my hand. I drove the extra 5min to support local but local didn't seem to be supportive of my visit. Been here 3 times and this has happened 2 out of 3 times. Hoping to even the score the next time I come by.

Correction on my previous review- the coffee soda is with house made whipping cream (not cream top).

    Gloria L.

I always get almond milk as an alternative milk when I can at coffee shops and I was so happy to hear that Two Kids specialize in their own house-made almond milk. I came on a Monday morning and the place was pretty busy. There are no tables, but they have single seat couches and counters with stools by the window and by the cash register. Not so much a study spot. There is free street parking in front of the shop. I got their espresso with almond milk hot with their house-made vanilla syrup and it was so good. The espresso was rich and their almond milk was creamy and smooth. The vanilla syrup gave the coffee a good amount of sweetness that I enjoyed. I would definitely recommend trying them out!

Ask the Community - Two Kids

Would you consider this a good place to study or get some work done?

Not in my opinion. There's no good place to "set up" a work space and no wifi.

    Do you use organic milk?

They use clover organic milk which is the best pasteurized milk I've had

The matcha itself was wonderfully rich, and mixing in the banana cream took it to the next level, while the crunchy toppings added a really nice occasional texture. The only real letdown was the size, the cup was just so tiny for an $8 price tag. Even though the flavors were incredible, it felt a bit hard to justify the steep cost for such a small portion.
