I kept hearing Bevel in Altadena had great coffee and as I'm a self proclaimed coffee aficionado I had to go. Well everyone is spot on. I had a dreamy Queen Bee latte( espresso, local honey, vanilla extract and almond milk) I would love it more if they had coconut milk as it's better for you and the environment than oat or almond milk. Took home a salt bagel and pistachio croissant. Made a Canadian bacon and egg on half the bagel at home at it was delicious. I'm also a bagel snob as I lived in NY for 8 years. This was a good bagel. Saving the croissant for tomorrow so I'll update later but it's huge and looks flaky and yummy. The place is darling, definitely not your typical private equity coffee spot. The staff was super friendly and when I couldn't decide which pastry to get, the young man asked if I wanted sweet or savory. Cute coffee shop in the area! Decent street parking and the shop always seems occupied whenever I drive past! Finally got to try Bevel and it was a great experience. Barista was kind and pleasant to talk to, and there's five tables out for outdoor seating or a long bench with laptop stands inside. I got the Queen Bee with oat milk, and it was a great drink! They have very good lattes at this coffee shop. I'm working across the street for a week and I've been visiting Bevel every morning to get their iced cardamom lattes. I think the drink is very good. It cost about $7.68 for one latte which is on the pricey side, but it's average for LA coffee shops. They also have a wide range of other coffee drinks and they have a pastry case of goodies. There is some seating indoors and some seating outdoors as well. Staff is friendly and helpful, and the line moves quickly, and the drinks are made pretty fast! Bevel is such a hidden gem! I went on a Saturday around 10 am and there was a line. It's quite small inside but it's efficient. The matcha latte was solid. I really wish they changed their cups. You can see in the photo that it was spilling everywhere. I went back and got a fresh cup and again it spilled all over. The croissant was also solid. You could taste the high quality ingredients. I visited on a weekday morning and found a parking spot right in front of the building. I was instantly greeted by very friendly employees. I ordered a mocha and they made sure it was dairy free which I really appreciated. The inside is very beautifully painted and I had to sit and enjoy the artwork. So happy to visit their new shop for the first time! Music is jamming and coffee is brewing. It was a warm welcome from staff. I love the coffee and tried their Queen Bee latte with oat milk. It's just the right amount of sweetness if you're not in to sugary coffee drinks. I do have to give a spotlight to their gorgeous pastries. I grabbed a pistachio croissant and onion biscuit. Stopped by the new location in Altadena and I just beat the morning rush! I love the new location and the decor inside. They are really in touch with their roots and it shows with the interior, logo design, and most importantly through their coffee. I had the Queen Bee and it is absolutely delicious and it still retains that coffee flavor without it being too overly sweet. I loved the drink so much that I bought a coffee pack myself so I can make some Bevel flavored coffee at home. The coffee is all locally roasted in Altadena too. Bevel Coffee is truly the coffee of my dreams, and it will surely be a regular spot for my husband and I's caffeine fix. The energy and level of customer service is exactly what Altadena needs. There is clear intention around not just serving superior coffee, which they certainly do as well, but fostering community. The interactions with staff and the drinks themselves are equally crafted with so much care. We came in the day after the grand opening and tried an iced cardamom latte with oat milk and an iced lavender latte with oat milk. I absolutely love that they make their syrups in-house. Both drinks were perfection. The cardamom was very light and complimented their espresso perfectly without competing. It simply enhanced the drink rather than masking it as some flavored lattes can do. I am admittedly a bit picky when it comes to my lavender lattes, but this was genuinely the best lavender latte I've ever had. In an effort to support businesses that have been affected by the wildfires and/or are helping the community out somehow, here is my updated review for Bevel Coffee. What started off as a pop-up shop in Monrovia, they're now located at the Prime Pizza patio in Altadena. Unfortunately, due to the fires, they're currently not operating until it's safe to do so. They've been able to build a community in the city of Altadena, and while it's been a challenge for businesses in the city, Bevel has been able to try to give back to the community by offering free pop-up shops last week offering free coffee to those that were affected by the fires. If you are a fan of coffee and want to support a business affected by the fire, purchase a delicious bag of coffee from them! They roast their own coffees and the taste of the coffee itself is a delight. Plus, the owners Kevin and Dulce are awesome people! read more

Stopped by after a run to pick up a honey latte (Queen Bee). Tasty, not overalls sweet and fairly priced. It's located next to Prime Pizza as well as Casa (pop up Mexican spot) so you can grab snacks. They have a smaller parking lot that we were able to pull into it. Staff was kind and polite. They have an outdoor patio with picnic benches in regards to seating. Love to find and support Altadena businesses. read more

I'm a big fan of Bevel. I was first introduced to this lovely coffee roaster at a Yelp Elite event. I have been a fan ever since. You can find Bevel at Prime Pizza in Altadena most days and let me say I make the 25 min drive to get my caffeine fix there on the weekends. Flavors are great, the menu has the perfect balance of traditional coffee drinks to seasonal selections. There's usually some delicious pastries and cookies too. I love the Bevel coffee here. It's a really cute kiosk. I have tried the queen bee and the elderflower coffee. Bevel is in my way to the farmers market. I make pit stop and get my coffee. The lady that works there is very nice and accommodating. She even put my kids hot chocolate in two cups because my kids can't drink a whole hot chocolate. This made my day. Today is my third time trying Bevel Coffee, as I sit here waiting for the Rose Parade to start. I didn't intend on attending the Rose Parade, but after dropping my mom off at her designated parade seat, I was chasing after Bevel to get today's fix. Having found parking and a good spot in front of where Bevel set up, I decided to stay. Anyway, I'm super excited to finally support them, as the first two times I tried them, it was at Yelp events, so this is the first time I chase and catch them! I tried their Cardamom Latte today, and as expected, it's delicious! I had previously tried a mocha and I think a honey cinnamon, and needless to say, I loved those also. We stop by here on Friday evenings during the Monrovia farmers market. You can find this coffee stand in front of Grey & Cash on Myrtle. My husband loves strong, bitter coffee and typically orders the cortado. I prefer slightly sweet, iced lattes and typically order the Cardamom latte which is perfectly delicious. I live in the neighborhood and am really pulling for this place - it would be lovely to have a good coffee shop in the area. However, today's experience was well below par. At over $7 with tip, I would expect my latte to at least be at a drinkable temperature. It burned my tongue. Zero latte art - frothy, unpleasant texture. The gal who served me was lovely and pleasant but the gentleman is a far superior barista.
