Finally visited Jameson Brown Coffee Roasters! Jameson Brown has been on my ever-growing list of coffee shops to try, and I'm so glad I finally made it in! Tucked on a brick corner building in Pasadena, their simple signage is easy to miss (I've driven by so many times and never noticed!), but stepping inside, you find a spacious and inviting interior with ample table options and even a cozy fireplace in the back. Parking is street only, so you might have to walk a bit during peak times, but it's worth it for the atmosphere alone. There are a couple of outdoor tables too, if you want some fresh air. Jameson Brown is an artisan roaster sourcing beans from around the globe, barrels of beautiful coffee beans are on display and you can watch the baristas access them as they craft each drink to order. The menu is displayed on a giant blackboard, with special and seasonal offerings up front by the counter. New pastry selections include treats like calamansi cheesecake pandesal and sticky buns (with vegan options as well). The staff were incredibly friendly, patient, and welcoming as I took my time deciding what to get. I went with my usual vanilla latte, plus their specialty Vienna latte. The espresso in my vanilla latte was bold and delicious, and while I'm not a big cinnamon fan, the Vienna latte (with honey and cinnamon) was perfect to bring home to my husband. Loved the open space, perfect for meetings, game nights, or just working from a coffee shop for the day. So glad I could finally check this one off my list. Highly recommend! read more

Wow what can I say! Looking for a great cup of ice cold coffee on a hot summer day! What a great find in Pasadena. The experience, the location and the ambiance just perfect to sit down to enjoy a cup of coffee! Corner neighborhood coffee spot in Pasadena and a completely perfect alternative to the corporate muck all over this blessed city. Parking is street, so it may be problematic during prime morning hours. Lots of seating inside, too, and most come to hang out and commiserate. Staff is super friendly. Asked for recommendations based on my preferences, and the young lady behind the counter pointed me to the following: - Iced Vienna Latte - 7.5/10: sweetened with honey, whole milk and cinnamon. Smooth, not overly sweet. - Calamansi Pandesal - 8/10: Wasn't expecting to see this Filipino treat here. Loved it. Texture was dense and doughy, which I happen to love. Mild sweetness, which I also happen to love. Looks like it could be a sugar bomb, but it isn't. Safe for work. Lots of pastries to choose from and the drink menu is super varied. I never would've known this place was here until I saw a bunch of people coming in and out of there as I passed it. I decided to try it out and when I walked in I noticed all of the industrial equipment for roasting. They offer so many different types of coffee beans and will even grind them if needed. There was so much space inside but only a few tables and it seems like a pretty frequented place for locals. The service was so nice. The cashier gave a few recommendations and was very helpful. They do 50% off day‑old pastries once they're trying to clear them out, and honestly, you can barely tell they're not fresh--except maybe with croissants. If you're taking one home, just warm it up in the oven and you're good. The housemade lavender syrup is really good, but they're pretty strict about limiting it to just one drink with no modifications. I love Jameson coffee! At most coffee shops, I usually order cold brew, but here I always go for an Americano. If you like fruity coffee or coffee with a strong bright acidity, I definitely recommend this place. That said, I can see how the flavor profile might not be for everyone, especially if you prefer a more traditional dark-roasted style coffee. The only downside is the parking. It's mostly street parking, and this place always seems to be busy, so finding a spot can be a bit difficult. Because of that, it's not always the easiest place for a quick coffee pickup. Still, the coffee itself is great, and this is one of the places I'd happily come back to. read more

Mmmm meh. We tried the espresso macchiato and the coconut breve. The breve had no coconut flavor and so much of a cream flavor despite adding an extra shot of espresso. I've been to this location a few times, every time the coffee is consistent and smooth, not too strong. The menu is straight forward with coffee, hot chocolate, and specialty coffee items. They also have a few pastry items for purchase. The place has a bit of a living room in a cabin feel with all the brick. Staff is friendly and always has a recommendation. There is plenty of indoor seating. Good for individual and small groups. I see a lot of people with laptops here too. It doesn't get too loud so I do think it's good for working or just meeting up with someone. Parking can be an issue depending on the time of day but usually there's street parking. read more

I came on a Saturday morning and thankfully there was parking near the coffee shop. I was able to park my car and walk for 2-3 minutes to the shop. There were not that many people and there were still some spots available to sit down. I was really indecisive about what latte to get and the barista gave me a good suggestion. I also ordered a croissant as well. I didn't have to wait too long for my latte and croissant. The latte tasted really good and not too sweet which I liked. This was my third time visiting Jameson Brown, and I finally decided to switch things up andtry the Vienna Latte. If you're into super bold, punchy espresso, this might feel a little light for you. The coffee flavor is definitely on the milder side. However, the texture totally made up for it. It was surprisingly creamy and had a really nice, smooth finish that didn't leave any bitter aftertaste. As always, Jameson is a great place for coffee as it is always busy. It has a cosy and spacious atmosphere but seating can be hard to find on weekend mornings. read more

Jameson Brown Coffee Roasters is located at 260 North Allen Avenue Pasadena, California 91106. It has been a mainstay for exceptional coffee for over 20 years. Considering the quality that they have maintained, this is an exceptional achievement. This location has undergone a number of different physical and structural modifications over the years. What has stayed the same is the knowledgeable, friendly service of the staff. Their knowledge helps make this an incredible place to have a cup of great coffee or purchase fresh roasted coffee beans. I have tried many different combinations of coffees and roasting techniques.... Light medium or dark roast. Rose City blend ground for a drip coffee maker (cone filter) is my favorite. It's nice that they have bites that you can pair with your cup of coffee as you wait. The customers are often drinking coffee, on a laptop, or working on their phone. Great background music plays throughout the main area of the room. There are many customers that come in to pick up their order that they have placed over the phone. The staff here is always busy cleaning, preparing coffee, or helping customers. Depending upon the time that you are there you may have to wait for other customers to complete their order. I love that they have a selection of tables, and counter space. I've never had a long wait to find a place to sit. They also have a few tables located outside with umbrellas. Depending upon the time of day parking can be a problem. There is off street parking along Allen and other side streets. I highly recommend this Pasadena Gem! read more

Stopped here on my way to Bakersfield for a quick coffee and breakfast. It's super close to the freeway so i didn't have to divert like crazy. The parking is honestly dogshiz, but it's a lot street lol idk if there is any on the side, maybe go on google earth and research. The inside is super cool, it's def a roaster lol They have all the machines and huge containers filled with all sort of coffee beans. The location is spacious and it seems like a lot of people like to come here for coffee and work-time. Every college students dream lol The workers all look edgy af so you know their coffee is good! The serious is great and fast and they're very kind if you have any questions or want alternatives. Their bagels are so good too! I got their lavender coffee (decaf i can't handle caffeine well unfortunately ) and got my husband the honey one and they were both great. Honestly super excited to come back and just come in and chat with friends. Def worth the drive ! read more

Despite the tricky mayhem parking options, there's a lot of rugged appeal here from the open space and atmosphere filled with texture and character. I wanted that seasonal horchatta but had to stick with the February drinks. We did chai, raspberry mocha, and cardamum. First two excellent and matched expectations set by my friends parents but my cardamum was dull and lifeless. At least their pastry sandwich things are fantastic! read more

How did I NOT know this what here in PASADENA this whole time? Also, had to find out the hard way but they are closed on SUNDAYS lol. First off, lots of street parking. You'll find a spot. Came on a Saturday with my best friend right before we hit the road to head off to the beach. I was also able to get my trusty Pasadena Passport stamped as well. I initially wanted to order the Horchata Latte but they were out so I ordered the Iced Amaro Latte & the Spinach Mushroom and Feta. The drink was a nice earthy taste on a hot summer day. The Spinach Cheese was very delicious, but I will say that it was a lot of spinach. They get busy and a long line starts to form, and I can see why. But their service here is top notch and the line goes down fairly quickly. read more

Never knew this place existed. I had the seasonal orange blossom latte and it wasn't too sweet. The Vienna latte was also very good- honey and cinnamon. They are the brewery of coffee of that makes any sense. They look legit and it shows on the coffee. They have an extensive menu of drinks and baked goods, with plenty of seating inside I'm very interested to try more! read more

Very cute vibe here kinda like a brewery but for coffee which was different from anything I've seen before. However I found the coffee to be underwhelming which is such a bummer because I wanted this to be a new spot. If I'm in the area again I'd stop by and try it again just for the vibe but I wouldn't go out of my way. Parking -0/10 couldn't tell if the small area near their building was parking for them or another business, the area this place is located in is industrial and then two rows of houses and car dealerships, parking was rough! I had to circle three times to find a spot. Orange coffee latte - 7/10 it was good but watered down. It did have a hint of orange. Cafe de olla - 4/10 I was really excited for this but it didn't taste like cafe de olla to me, the cinnamon was lacking and again it tasted watered down. I'm always excited to try a new coffee shop :) When it's a roaster that makes it that much better because you know they are going to have great coffee from fresh beans! Jameson just reinforced my belief :) We both decided to have one of their specialty drinks, the Vienna Latte. It was soooooo good, delicious coffee flavored with Honey & Cinnamon :) Plus it was served at the perfect drinking temperature, something I really appreciate. The shop is in a freestanding brick building just a block from the 210 Fwy and only has street parking on residential streets. The interior is large with lots of seating options, a fireplace & of course a roaster. It has a relaxed, inviting vibe for you to enjoy. There are also some tables outside along the shady side of the building. In addition to a nice selection of coffee drinks they also have tea, pastries and, a wide selection of roasted coffee beans. We're looking forward to coming back and picking up some beans. read more

Maybe I tried the wrong drink here since there is so many good reviews and they roast their own beans so I might have to stop by again. I wasn't greeted when I entered and the employees were just talking amongst themselves so after looking at the menu I felt like none of the options were too appealing to me. I got an iced oat milk white chocolate mocha latte and it was made quickly. It was way too sweet and you could barely taste the espresso or any coffee notes so it was disappointing. This place is nice and big, perfect for a meeting/catching up. They have coffee beans and loose leaf tea for purchase! I wish I liked their drinks more! 10/10 for customer service, 4/10 for drinks. I'm not the biggest coffee fan so I ordered their iced Chai latte. The drink had a spicy chai flavor (like the mild spice of ginger and cinnamon), but also tasted very watered down. I asked if it was possible to remake it and the barista was super sweet and remade it, but unfortunately it still tasted watery. She even tried to give me a cup of just the chai concentrate to add in, but unfortunately it didn't do much because of how much water there was. I really appreciated her trying though and now patient and understanding she was. If you're used to a creamy sweet chai latte, this might not be your cup of tea. Jameson Brown's chai latte had more of a water base with a splash of milk as opposed to a chai latte with milk as its base. I eventually asked if I could get another drink and ended up with the Mayan Mocha. I've tried this drink hot before, but decided to get it iced. The drink had a bit too much spice for me. It wasn't too hot to handle, but it felt a bit too spiced and overpowering for a drink. I've had the hot version before and I think the spice is more dispersed and balanced when hot whereas iced stung my throat a bit. I tried my sister's Vienna latte and also felt like it was just okay. Maybe I'm just used to a sweeter coffee. I really appreciated the baristas effort though to try to adjust and fix it especially near closing time. The customer service received was great, everyone was super helpful and attentive. The ambiance of the place was nice. At around 1:30 pm, it was quiet with lots of seats and table available and plenty of natural light. It seems like the perfect place to study or work. I'm not really a coffee person (I'm more of a dessert coffee type of drinker) and I think that's why I wasn't a huge fan of the drinks. If you're more of a sweet latte, dessert coffee type of drinker, this might not be the cafe for you. My mom though loves Jameson Brown and it's one of her favorite coffee shops so it definitely has its audience! She says her only critique is that they're inconsistent which may be the reason I wasn't a huge fan of the drinks. read more

Been here a few times. Once to study and the rest to pick up coffee. The parking is the greatest foe here. It's all street parking and bring your parallel parking skills. There's usually a line to order but it moves quick. Staff are friendly. The inside is cozy and warm. It can have medium levels of chatter inside. There's also outdoor tables for those with dogs. The pasty I've had before was tasty. The pumpkin latte is one of the best I've ever had. Today I got the seasonal cardamom rose latte. It was quite good! The sugar and hotness levels are tame, which works for me. I've always enjoyed the coffees here. Definitely worth a chance. read more

It is a pretty sizable roastery and there are plenty of spaces for people to sit in work if you like an environment with some soft level noise. It gives a very hanging in the backyard feel. There's a wide selections of drinks and the drink came out really quick. I got the Vienna latte with oat milk with a Colombian beans. The Vienna latte is a honey and cinnamon latte. I typically do not like very sweet drinks and this is the perfect amount of sweetness. The cinnamon in it tastes like it is a bit toasted so it gives the latte a well rounded taste. The coffee in it is on the lighter side and it is very smooth. There are no bitterness and a coat the tongue evenly. The oatmilk used does not overpower the coffee at all. Overall , I will give this latte 6.5 out of 10 as there are other places that do a better rendition of a cinnamon honey latte in town. But their coffee is good, it isn't acidic and smooth. It is a lighter/medium roast so I look forward to coming back to try their drip coffee or cold brew. Side note it is street parking. There are a lot of spots in the smaller street, it is just a stroll to get to the shop. It is quiet and a pretty wide street so it shouldn't be too difficult. The only thing is if you a cold coffee drinker and you drink your coffee fast, I would say get a bigger size cause you might finish before you get to your car. read more

This place is so cool! As soon as you walk in you will love this place! I was already a fan before I even tried the coffee just off of the atmosphere and the way the exterior was set up! The coffee itself was also very good -- I got an Americano and my gf got one of their house speciality drinks (wish I could remember which one but I think it had peach in it) and neither of us were disappointed at all! I was more than happy to try a café in a newer area for myself - Pasadena! I had a quick lunch over at Tops, and this was just a quick walk's away! Inside, there was a really cute industrial design, with good decor and plenty of seating with outlets. It wasn't too crowded on a weekday afternoon, so plenty of spots to sit.
