Milk Brew with Banana Milk
Ana V.

I was highly impressed! One of the best coffee experiences I've had in all my recent coffee ventures. The milk brew with banana milk was beautifully balanced, especially with the chocolate notes of the coffee from this week perfectly complementing the banana milk with the just right amount of sweetness. The prices were very reasonable compared to most other LA-area coffee shops. Spacious, modern interior thoughtfully designed to provide a generous amount of work space. Of course, the service was excellent. The barista present this Monday was so kind and highly knowledgeable. I believe one of the owners was seated at the side, who was also very kind. All considered, this place deserves much more hype! I really wish them all the best and a successful future.

Got pretty astonished by how huge the space was, looking like a sizable office space converted into a minimalistic coffee shop. The signature drinks they offered were literally what they called out in their name. It's apparently a Japanese coffee-making technique by brewing the coffee directly with milk instead of water. As the process took quite plenty of time, it let the coffee taste stayed strong yet smooth. What made it fun was they offered different options of milk including corn and banana! Thanks to the barista who warned me that the banana milk came sweet within the default mode so I opted for no extra syrup. When you went for other milk, you typically would want to add the housemade syrup. I felt it was right balance between being creamy yet still allowed the coffee flavor leading.

Found this spot soft opening in Pasadena. Imagine a cold brew but instead of steeping in water, they steep it in milk! Result is a smooth iced coffee perfect for a sunny day! The staff was friendly and since the coffee is brewed overnight, the turnaround is quick. The spot is very spacious and seems like a great spot to study or do some work.

Visited on Saturday, June 13 around 10:55 AM. Unfortunately, the milk brew was already sold out, so I'll have to come back and try that next time. My partner ordered a strawberry latte, and I ordered a cappuccino. Total came to $12.60, and payment was quick and easy and surprisingly they didn't ask for tip. Since this is still a newer shop, there are a few areas that could improve. Our drinks took about 15-20 minutes to come out, and my cappuccino was initially made as a latte. The barista caught the mistake, remade it, and kindly let me keep both drinks. Both were served a bit cooler than I expected. On the positive side, I really enjoyed the espresso. It had a floral, slightly funky flavor profile that stood out from the typical coffee shop roast. My partner felt the strawberry latte was just okay, as the flavor seemed to come mostly from syrup. The space is a highlight: spacious, minimalist, and cozy, with several large tables and plenty of outlets for working or studying. Parking can be a bit challenging. Most nearby street parking is limited to 30 minutes, though Paseo Colorado is an option if you don't mind a short walk. Overall, I think this place has a lot of potential. The espresso was promising, and I'm looking forward to coming back for the milk brew. As they continue to refine their workflow, I think the overall experience will improve as well.

Staff were incredibly friendly! I absolutely loved the space! So open, clean, and warm! Ordered a vanilla latte. The latte was great! I will definitely be coming back!

Beautiful space!

Such a beautiful, inviting space with incredible drinks! The concept of Milk Brew is something I've never heard of until coming here. They steep the coffee grounds in milk instead of water. The end result is absolutely delicious! I tried the banana milk brew & the regular milk brew...both were really good. I'll definitely be coming back to try their other menu items including their pour overs.

Cortado!

The energy, light and openness of Milkbrew's space is fantastic and the cortado and banana milkbrew were delicious!! I wish I lived in the area! Loved being able to spend a few hours working and enjoying their coffee today! Will definitely be back!

Banana milk brew

Such an amazing addition to the area!! I love the whole milk brew concept and the coffee flavor came through more than I thought it would which was great. The flavor customizations are so fun too. We tried the banana milk brew and banana latte. Will return to try more!

The best banana milk coffee I have ever had. The cafe is so clean and spacious, and the owners are so kind and accomodating. I 100% will be coming back soon!!!

Couldn't even resist taking a sip before taking the picture haha! Cool new spot with a chill minimalist vibe and friendly staff. The sweet milk tea was just right! Not too sweet and super smooth. Def beats the burnt coffee you get across the street at Starbucks. Glad to know I got a new spot to look forward to

Beyond its innovative drinks, the café offers an impressive lineup of freshly baked pastries made in-house, ensuring there's something to suit every palate. From the moment our order arrived, the vibrant presentation left us even more excited to dig in. **Banana Cream Matcha: 4/5** The Banana Cream Matcha reimagined the classic matcha latte with a decadent twist. Topped with a luscious layer of banana-infused foam and crunchy almond toffee, it offered a satisfying textural contrast, while the housemade banana purée, featuring chunks of real banana, delivered a fresh, naturally sweet flavor. The latte was exceptionally smooth and creamy, but it leaned a bit too milky, causing the matcha's earthy notes to become fairly subdued. It was also slightly sweeter than my preference, making it feel more like a dessert-inspired matcha than a true matcha-forward latte. **Pistachio Croissant: 5/5** This was easily the highlight of our order. The croissant featured an incredibly flaky, crispy exterior that gave way to a light, airy interior with beautiful buttery layers. It was generously filled with a rich, nutty cream that accentuated the pistachio's deep, roasted flavor while maintaining just the right amount of sweetness. Finished with a white chocolate pistachio drizzle and a delicate dusting of powdered sugar, every bite was indulgent yet perfectly balanced. Overall, Danbi Coffee shows plenty of promise through its specialty drinks and well-executed pastries. While I'd love to see a bolder matcha presence in their lattes, the exceptional pistachio croissant alone gives me every reason to return and explore the rest of their menu.

But nooooo. Mr. B can smell sinfully yummy calories, even with a bag over his head, a mile away. Their specialty... chocolate croissants. Thus, we let Artisanal Goods lure us in. No parking, way too busy, way too full to seat us, a line bursting out the door, the tiny bakery cafe still seduced us. That is, Mr B circled the block in the car but pushed me out to get in line. It was the idea of a flaky, buttery, chocolate croissant crumbling all over his shirt that made him do it. And I had no intention of saying no. The line went quickly. The last Kouign Amann had just escaped my clutches to the guy in front of me, darn it. But there were still trays upon trays of freshly baked, massive chocolate croissants displayed in their custom, wood display case right next to the register. Sorry about no pictures, but you know how things get out of hand sometimes. However if you want to experience an orgasm in pastry form, I suggest you high tail it here.

Instead of feeling welcomed, I felt like I was inconveniencing them just by ordering. A friendly attitude goes a long way, and that was completely missing. The coffee was even more disappointing. It had almost no flavor and tasted watered down, especially for the price. I expected a quality drink, but it was bland and absolutely not worth what I paid. To make matters worse, we were told to leave the patio an hour before the shop was even closing. If the patio has different hours, that should be clearly communicated instead of asking paying customers to leave early. Overall, this was a frustrating experience. Between the unfriendly service, flavorless coffee, and being asked to leave well before closing, I won't be coming back. There are plenty of other cafés in Pasadena that offer much better coffee and treat their customers with respect.

Parking is street, so it may be problematic during prime morning hours. Lots of seating inside, too, and most come to hang out and commiserate. Staff is super friendly. Asked for recommendations based on my preferences, and the young lady behind the counter pointed me to the following: - Iced Vienna Latte - 7.5/10: sweetened with honey, whole milk and cinnamon. Smooth, not overly sweet. - Calamansi Pandesal - 8/10: Wasn't expecting to see this Filipino treat here. Loved it. Texture was dense and doughy, which I happen to love. Mild sweetness, which I also happen to love. Looks like it could be a sugar bomb, but it isn't. Safe for work. Lots of pastries to choose from and the drink menu is super varied. If you like fruity coffee or coffee with a strong bright acidity, I definitely recommend this place. That said, I can see how the flavor profile might not be for everyone, especially if you prefer a more traditional dark-roasted style coffee. The only downside is the parking. It's mostly street parking, and this place always seems to be busy, so finding a spot can be a bit difficult. Because of that, it's not always the easiest place for a quick coffee pickup. Still, the coffee itself is great, and this is one of the places I'd happily come back to.

There was a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating, as well as power outlets, making this a nice study or hang out spot! Pricing was reasonable and most drinks were $6-$7+. Love that they have complimentary milk substitutions (oat/almond) and offer ice/sugar adjustments! Got the Toasty ($7) and it consisted of milk tea, espresso, brown sugar syrup, and cinnamon. It's nice that the default for this drink was oat milk. This drink was so delicious! The coffee was not too strong or overpowering. I really enjoyed that it wasn't too sweet without any sugar adjustments. The cinnamon added a nice touch and cherry on top to the drink. Overall, this drink was very yummy and unique!
