Consistently delicious pandan lattes and matcha concoctions! Dash has been a favorite now for years. I'm not local, but anytime I return to Pasadena, I always visit at least once or twice! The staff is always so gracious and knowledgeable about their current offerings. They continue to experiment with flavors (a new favorite is the Matcha Jasmine latte) Perennial favorites: Pandan Latte (they somehow make the best flavored one here, even though there are now several coffee shops in the area that make this drink. I believe they might be the OG). Matcha latte (they make theirs unsweetened, and for purists, this is perfect!) I need to talk about their Ube foam here. You can add it to any drink (I like topping my pandan lattes with it--it's a perfect flavor blend!) It is decadent, sweet, and creamy, and yes, makes your drink a dessert! While other shops also make Ube cream tops, Dash's Ube foam is the best one by a large margin when it comes to taste and texture. The shop space is cozy and clean, with indoor and outdoor seating. There is customer turnover, but sometimes it's not fast, so a few times, I've had to take my drinks to go even though I had planned to stay a while if seating allowed--obviously others enjoy the vibe here as well!

Grabbed a couple drinks here before heading out and overall had a pretty nice experience. We ordered an iced pandan latte and a matcha ube latte and the matcha ube was definitely the winner for me. The ube cream top actually had a strong ube flavor instead of just sweetness and the matcha itself tasted high quality and nicely balanced. Sadly, I didn't enjoy the pandan latte much. I got it half sweet and could barely taste any pandan at all, and the espresso just wasn't really my favorite. Not terrible, just not something I'd go out of my way for. My husband liked it more than I did. Service was friendly and fast, and there's also a self serve kiosk by the entrance if you want to order quickly. The cafe itself is small with only a few tables, but it feels like a nice little spot to sit, chat, or get some work done for a bit. They also sell little Thai/Asian snacks and random knick knacks which was fun to browse while waiting for drinks (wound up with a bag of kimchi and salted egg yolk Lays). Conveniently located on the southeast side of Union and Lake too.

This place serves such high quality drinks, we were so glad we stumbled upon it. Definitely a must try!

OMG! Highly recommend! 1. Parking - street (metered) or they have a small parking lot. 2. Drinks ordered - matcha coconut water (10/5), dirty thai tea, biscoff latte, hojicha (my least favorite but still good!) and creme brulee latte. All were sooo amazing! 3. Pricing - :( the only down side is it is quite expensive averaging $8+ per drink. But the quality of their drinks brings us back. 4. Service is usually very prompt. Nothing to go crazy over. 5. They have a few tables indoor and outdoor!

Came in to do some work and it is a cute little spot. They have their own parking lot so that was a plus. They have tables and seats inside and outside. You could order from a kiosk or the cashier. I got the pandan cookie and the butterfly pea fizz. The cookie was pretty good. It was crispy on the outside and chewy in the middle. The drink was also good. I wasn't feeling a coffee but I still needed a pick me up and this was a good choice. It was sweet and a little sour. Both items were very tasty!

I was in the Pasadena area and wanted an Einspanner latte. I did a quick search and Dash came up. There's a small parking lot connected which is great, especially in Pasadena. Upon entering the barista was very welcoming and kind. My drink was quickly made and while good it wasn't quite an Einspanner. There were about four small tables inside and really cool speciality snacks.

Such a great cafe! Food: 10/10! Tried the seasonal matcha latte with strawberry cold foam... and I chugged it lol! Matcha latte had a very strong matcha flavor and the strawberry cold foam was amazing! It didn't overpower anything and it was incredible! I was recommended the Ube cornflake caramel brownie and it's something I've never had before! So yummy and would come back and crave it! Service: 10/10! Kind employees who took my siblings' order and whoever expedited my order was fantastic :) Ambiance: 10/10! Cute interior and place was packed with people studying/working. Overall, my siblings and I loved it and we will definitely be coming back! (Maybe next week since we have a weekly sibling hangout lol

I really enjoyed my Creme Brulee latte from here. It was very robust, and full of flavor. I will go as far as saying it was the absolute best one, in this flavor category, that I've had. I went back the very next day. Both times the service was great. Its a small spot, and if you're driving and not looking for it, you'd surely miss it. There's not a lot of parking, but I'd say it's worth a short walk from street parking. Try it, and see for yourself.

Dash is my go-to coffee house. The coffee is always delicious and the service is great as well. Matt is always fun to talk to and always provides positive vibes. I would try their Pandan Latte if I were you. It's epic!

Locally owned and loved, Dash Coffee Bar is one of my favorites in Pasadena. The Ube foam latte is my go-to... as well as the matcha latte. Whether it's matcha or Ube, their ingredients are high quality and rich. You can tell with the shade of Ube and matcha! The service is always top tier and reliable. For those early morning meetings, this is my favorite pick-me-ups. There's a small parking lot but plenty of street side parking. Inside the cafe has a couple of seats and tables to cowork at.

Stumbled across this coffee spot after lunch. Overall cute with different types of drinks. Only downside is the parking. Parking lot is very small and so we had to circle around to find street parking. Inside is small but they do have a few tables. Staff greeted us and was friendly. I got the dirty Thai tea and it was interesting but in a good way. I also tried the matcha and it had a nice strong flavor. I'm interested to come back to try other things off the menu.

DISAPPOINTED. I walked into the store at 9:20 am on a Wednesday and no greeting from two girls working there. Only when my friend told them we're here for a pickup, then they said it's behind the counter and tell them our name. No smile expression. I'm not sure. Drink has no sweetness? Or has it always been minimal. Pandan matcha (hot) does not have pandan flavor Matcha einspanner has good cream that doesn't mix with the drink (I only mixed it because the drink wasn't sweet, I usually don't mix and drink it from the lid).

This place is adorable! I was in the area and came across Dash, and if you are nearby you should come visit! Tiny parking lot but there seemed to be some street parking nearby. I got the Pandan Latte w/ oatmilk half sweet and it was delicious! I love that they make their Pandan syrup in house there are also a few outlets and cute bench seating if you need to lock in and get some work done. Will def be back to try some of their food options/pastries too! Their staff was helpful and sweet.

For the drinks itself, not sure what kind of matcha powder they are using but it doesn't seem to be grade quality. The banana latte also tasted like milk. Interior wise, plenty of tables & seating. Great for a study spot with ample street parking. Overall, for the price, quality, and sizes, I unfortunately will not be returning.

I usually like to take my drinks to go so I can grab a pain au chocolat at C.A.R down the street but sometimes I'll linger if a table opens up. They team up with different microbakeries on weekends to host popups, my fave being crumbs and flakes, so that keeps the pastry rotation interesting. The cappuccino may be the best I've ever had. I don't know what kind of coffee they use, but it was very smooth. That alone is worth the trip. AND, my barista did a cute milk art on top. The Kouign Amann was AMAZING. Layered and flaky I confess I ate the whole thing! I can't wait until I can try the other 2 things I've purchased. I get it. It's tiring and frustrating trying to help customers understand that what they are drinking is not "weak" coffee just because they "can't taste coffee." The masses & self-proclaimed coffee enthusiasts want "strong/bold" coffee but they themselves don't even understand what that means! Youngsters want to drink their iced lattes all the while pretending to be grown ups and/or be part of some trendy shop. they take 100s of pictures of the same latte and finally post one to their intriguing Instagram story. Why? Because trendy, duh! Thank God for Sherry Gao and the undeniably talented team at Mandarin & Mandarin 2. THESE KIDS ARE BONAFIDE COFFEE PROFESSIONALS!!!! They have phenomenal coffee pedigree! If you are familiar with my senseless ramblings, or so-called "reviews", you will notice that this one lacks my customary per item ratings and elaboration. This is intentional. Considering the subject matter of coffee, I simply cannot and will not write about "how good this latte is", etc. With all due respect, I drink spro, and almost always only spros at shops that actually know what they are doing (with an occasional deviation of a spro & some milk or something else interesting to my palate at the moment). So yeah, if you must know, Mandarin 2 is THEE PLACE for coffee. And to all the iced latte experts, please do spare us your expert opinion on coffee.

This place is for someone who wants to try something new and interesting…read more I'm not Chinese or Asian so these flavors were new to me. I got the seasonal coconut latte and I liked the espresso it was smooth and creamy. My mother got their latte with the milk tea and I personally liked it but she wasn't very happy with it. The baristas weren't accommodating about substitutions or offering to make a new drink. Each business has a right to run it the way they want but be warned that you kind of have to commit to trying something you may not like. This place gives an either you like our drinks or just don't come back type of vibe. They don't really seem to care about appeasing you. Do with that information what you will.
