Came by at noon on Friday on a pleasant day to explore a local cafe! There was no wait and plenty of seating indoor and outdoors. It was my first time here and the barista was very friendly in explaining their menu and pastry selection. They have a new menu every season but since it was my first time here, I opted to go for a staff favorite, the Cinnamon Creamed Honey Latte (the other is the Brown Sugar Latte). I chose the Coconut Oatmeal Chai Cookie Sandwich for the novelty but I found that it was rather sweet for my taste. So for anyone interested in their cookie sandwiches, I definitely recommend getting a drink that's not sweet to balance out the flavors! Otherwise I'd absolutely come again to try out the rest of their menu. read more

The cafe menu includes unique lattes, espresso bar, coffee, cold brew, tea, toast , sandwiches, salads bar, parfait, and kids menu. They also have fresh pastries. I ordered the following: - Picnic pastrami sandwich x2 4 /5 It had Pastrami, jack cheese, pickles, onions, lettuce on sourdough baguette. - Caprese sandwich x2 5/5 Mozzarella, tomato, basil , olive oil, balsamic glaze on Ciabatta. - Chocolate croissant 5/5 Was flaky, buttery and filled with chocolate. - Matcha ginger cranberry scone 5/5 Was very delicious - Mango coconut matcha 4/5 It was a refreshing drink. I love mango, so I wish I could taste more mango flavor in the drink - Iced teddy graham latte 5/5 It was a traditional latte sweetened with honey syrup, Heilala vanilla bean paste & cinnamon milk as it was described. It was very refreshing and delightful one! The flavors balanced perfectly and the sweetness was on point. The staff were nice. The place has welcoming vibes. We received our order very quickly. So happy to have stumbled across the coffee shop while I was in the area! I love honey, so I was ecstatic to see that they had honey-infused specialty coffees on the menu. I really wanted to love this place since I love to support local cafes, but I couldn't help feeling a little disappointed. Blueberry Lavender Latte - 4/5 The flavor was great, I could clearly taste both the blueberry and lavender without the drink being overly sweet, and the actual espresso shot was pulled nicely. The presentation was also really cute; the blueberry garnish, the pretty cup, and the latte art were all nice touches. My only complaint was the temperature. I ordered this drink hot, but it was lukewarm at best. Maybe the milk wasn't steamed enough? I stopped by early when there wasn't a crowd, so I feel like there isn't really a reason for the drink to be cold? Pasadena toast - 1/5 For $7, this felt like a very basic avocado toast I could easily make at home. Compared to the latte, the toast's flavor and presentation was super underwhelming. The jalapeños looked like they were just tossed on as an afterthought, and the bread wasn't toasted well. The image from the website menu shows a nicely seasoned toast with some pepper(?), pretty garnishes, and a fluffy spread of avocado, but mine didn't seem to have any visible seasoning, and the layer of avocado was fairly thin. Again, I'd understand if it was busy and the staff was in a rush to get orders out, but there wasn't a crowd at all (literally 2 people in line) and this toast was $7.. The space does have a cute area with artisan goods and merch, and there's free parking in the back lot and nearby streets. There's no wifi, but I get it since it prevents people from camping tables. I'll probably come back and give this place another try since the other reviews are positive, maybe this was just a one-off poor experience for me. read more

This coffee shop was clean and customer service was amazing!! I love that they sell local honey and the jars are super cute! They also have a deli but we didn't get to try that as we were in a hurry. We ordered iced coffees: pistachio honey latte and teddy graham latte. These were delicious and perfectly balanced flavors, not too sweet and very coffee forward which we loved! I will be the first to admit that I probably ordered wrong here, but I ordered the lavender lemonade. It was shocking that by the time I ordered my drink and paid for it, the drink was already done. So I grabbed my drink and made the assumption that it's Trader Joe's lemonade with a flavor shot. Not saying it's bad, but not worth the price. I got salty caramel and since they add salt it was very salty, I was not expecting that, I asked Chloe, supposedly their manager to remake it without salt, she refused. The drinks and desserts are absolutely delicious! The café is beautiful and the surface is wonderful. Drinks are made to or quickly to your liking. Prices are fair in the quality as well worth it. I love lavender and I love honey! The drinks are consistently delicious and pretty. I love that they have homemade syrups and really couldn't decide between the drinks on their seasonal lineup. We came here after a hike, we wanted something fairly quick but good. This was the perfect choice! They have a couple veggie options for non meat eaters and they can be made vegan. Not sure why I have been to this coffee place so many times. When I lived in Pasadena, the intersection of Hill & Washington had a mystery bookstore and a cookbook store across the street and eventually a Lebanese restaurant. I don't know if any businesses from that era remain. Millie's, when its packed in the morning, now dominates this attractive looking intersection. HONORABLE MENTION I so very much loved that this location had a big designated parking lot literally on the side of the building. ALSO, I decide to have the gluten free version of the sandwich and the carrot whoopie pie and was BLOWN AWAY by how soft and moist the bread, and pie were. I wasn't sure what to order, then decided on the REAL PSL- (pumpkin spice latte) I must state a disclaimer (I'm not a real coffee drinker) so with that being said if you love coffee, this is the place for you! I love that L& H does not use any artificial ingredients and they use local vendors for their organic supply. Parking is located just behind which is convenient but seating is a luxury so many people take to go. Its a small shop but doesnt sting on the quality of their goods. Super friendly and helpful service. It was pretty busy when I got there but they tried to be quickly without rushing people. (I had some questions about some treats for relatives who are gluten free. It can get pretty chilly inside, no matter what the time of year so I usually prefer to sit outside unless it's too hot by the time I get there or I have a sweater with me. Their menu is pretty straight-forward, they do have delicious pastries, sandwiches, and such. This last time I went it I grabbed an iced Honeybee Latte with whole milk. It was just sweet enough. I do wish the espresso was stronger but the honey made up for it. While I was there, there was people coming in and out nonstop. You can tell there are a lot of locals and regulars that visit. First of all, it's very cute in there. I went at about 11:45 am and made it just before the lunch crowd poured in. By the time I left, the line was out the door and I see why. It was my very first time being here and I ordered a very refreshing peach tea and a turkey avocado sandwich which siracha mayo. They said it's on country white bread but it looks like wheat to me, unless they ran out of white and didn't tell me lol. But that aside, everything was soooo fresh and crisp and delicious. And the sandwich was pretty sizable too. I also ordered a cinnamon roll, but I haven't tried it yet because I'm too full from the giant sandwich. I would've taken better pics but I didn't want to offend anyone in the shop. And I took my food to go, so sorry you get to see them in boxes. Just like the poetic cafe name suggests, this place really is refreshing and sweet. A quaint coffee shop with signature honey-infused lattes and mouthwatering selection of gourmet toast and outdoor seating on a beautiful sunny LA day - what more can you ask for? I've visited this cafe twice now and every time I meet up with a dear friend, we indulge in their lattes and toast. This time I tried the peach and honey toast - yummy! One of my favorite coffee places in Pasadena! Pretty busy with a packed lot at around 10am on a Friday. Inside there was a small line and lots to look at. The service was super friendly and positive! My favorite is the honeybee latte and right now they have a honey pistachio that I tried today and it was so good. It wasn't too sweet and had pieces of pistachio inside. I also ordered the potato chip pastrami sandwich which took awhile to be made. It was good too but I think a little too much mustard especially since it's already paired with pickled/brined onions. I think the potato chips would be better on the side because for it to be inside, it got really soggy quick and just kept falling everywhere. I would definitely go with the turkey chili crunch next time as it was more up my alley but I wanted to try something different. Had another pastry with a ricotta filling and dried berries, which I preferred since it was less sweet to contrast my drink. You can get it hot or over ice and add your choice of milk (I opt for the almond version ). If my tummy is grumbling, I usually go with one of the options from their Toast Bar. This morning, I was craving the PB Honey Banana Toast (Peanut Butter, Banana, and Raw Local Honey on Artisan Bread). They also have gluten free bread options as needed. The coffee is fantastic. Im staying in the area and wanted a quaint coffee shop experience for my morning walk. This was perfect. The staff was incredibly friendly and even complimented the book I brought with me. I ordered a French Lavender Breve and PB Honey Banana Toast, and enjoyed every moment of it. There isn't a ton of sitting space inside, but there is additional patio seating outside and it looked like everyone who came and wanted to stay found the space to do so.
