My need for a Saturday morning caffeine fix led me here. Mammoth Coffee Roasting Co was founded in 2017 by Steve & Tracie Shatkin in Mammoth Lakes. They recently opened their first franchise in Pasadena with David & Patricia Kapajos at the helm. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with a friendly "Hello" by the lady at the register. She was darling. I ordered a Cortado and was surprised that it came in two sizes - 8oz & 12oz. I requested the 8oz ($5.50) with almond milk (.75). They also offer breakfast items in addition to baked goods, which looked delicious. Mammoth uses high quality, ethically sourced Colombian beans. I could taste it in the brew, which was robust. Needless to say, the Cortado gave me the pep I needed to get through the day. The barista was nice and the store was clean, spacious, & organized. This is a really nice spot if you're looking for somewhere to study or just chill for a while. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, with a pretty relaxed atmosphere. They also have free Wi-Fi, which is posted on the wall, so it's definitely study-friendly. The staff were exceptional! Everyone was friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. They offer a selection of coffee drinks along with a variety of baked goods if you're looking for something to snack on. I ended up sitting here for about an hour to study, and I really enjoyed the vibe. The music was at a good volume--not too loud or distracting if you're trying to focus, but still loud enough for people who are just hanging out to enjoy. Unfortunately, the drink was the weak point for me. I got a London Fog, and it was extremely watered down to the point where I could barely taste the flavor. The price for the size also didn't help, especially considering how little flavor the drink had. Overall, it's a great place to study, work, or relax, and the staff and atmosphere are definitely worth mentioning. I'd have to try another drink next time to see if it's worth coming back for the coffee. read more

Defo Not the mountainous amount seen on an IG reel that made me check them out. (See 2nd pic). Perhaps next time I'll try their Breakfast burrito instead. Really disappointed with my experience at Mammoth Coffee Roasters in Pasadena. The Vietnamese coffee tasted burnt, and the espresso in the affogato was extremely bitter and had a burnt taste as well. I also paid around $15 for a cold churro croissant and an affogato, which just wasn't worth the price. I ordered a mocha as well, and they forgot to add the coffee, it was basically just hot chocolate. Unfortunately, even after they corrected it, the coffee itself was not good. For the prices, I expected much better quality and consistency. Overall, the drinks were disappointing, the food wasn't served as expected, and I definitely won't be coming back. read more

The baristas at Mammoth Coffee are truly wonderful. The customer service was easily the best part of our experience. Unfortunately, the coffee itself was a very different story. This new Pasadena location is a franchise of Mammoth Coffee Roasting Co., which originated in Mammoth. I had never been to the original location, so I didn't necessarily have any expectations. I ordered an iced lavender latte with almond milk. There was an additional $0.75 charge for the almond milk and another $0.75 for the added flavor, so the drink was $1.50 more than the base price. Unfortunately, it was not worth the cost. The latte was genuinely undrinkable. The espresso tasted burnt, harsh, extremely bitter, and over extracted, with a really unpleasant aftertaste. It completely overpowered the drink. The lavender flavor also seemed to be coming from a Monin type syrup, which felt pretty underwhelming given the price. My husband took the drink back and asked if they could remake it. Once again, the baristas were incredibly kind and accommodating and genuinely seemed to want to make it better. The original owner of Mammoth Coffee Roasting Co. happened to be there at the time. He seemed a little defensive about us asking for a remake, but he did make my husband a shot of straight espresso and made sure it was pulled correctly before having the drink remade. Unfortunately, the second drink wasn't any better. The espresso still had that same burnt, bitter, unpleasant flavor. The owner suggested that it might simply be our palate or personal preference. I understand that espresso is subjective and that different roasts can have very different flavor profiles. However, I drink a lot of coffee and have had plenty of espresso that wasn't my personal preference. Even when I don't particularly enjoy an espresso, I'm still able to drink it. This was genuinely so unpleasant that I couldn't. We ended up throwing the drink away after we left. I really do want to emphasize that the baristas were excellent and handled the situation with kindness and professionalism. Unfortunately, for the price, especially with the additional charges for almond milk and flavor, the quality of the coffee just wasn't there for us. Based on this experience, this coffee shop simply isn't for me. read more

I frequently take classes at Rumble and StretchLab, so I've been anticipating the opening of this new coffee shop. I really like the ambiance: simple yet clean and spacious. There were lots of baked goods and food options, but I wanted to try their dirty chai today. Servers were patient, friendly, and quick in making my order. I don't think I picked a good drink, though, as I didn't like my dirty chai. Next time, I'll get a coffee drink and reassess. read more

I'm the manager of the [solidcore] studio right next door, and we absolutely LOVE having Mammoth Coffee Roasting Co. as our neighbor! Our clients and team love them and they've truly been such a perfect addition to the Pasadena community. Their entire staff is incredibly friendly and kind. You walk in and immediately feel seen and taken care of. It has that special neighborhood coffee shop feeling where people actually remember you and are genuinely happy to see you. And everything is delicious! The pastries are amazing, and I'm personally obsessed with their breakfast burrito and herbal tea refreshers. SO good, especially in this heat! I love sitting outside and getting work done. Lots of indoor / outdoor seating and WiFi! We're so grateful to have Mammoth right next door and couldn't ask for better neighbors. The coffee is awful and the food is even worse. They leave their ham and cheese out all day. Worse than all they put spinach and tomato on a ham and cheese. All the savory options look pretty disgusting.. but truly it's one of the worst. I vanilla lattes I've ever had it taste like Dunkin' Donuts, but worse. Staff seems real nice. read more

Pretty expensive for what you get. Got two coffees and burritos and a cinnamon bun with tax and tip it was about $70. The burritos are not large. But the other thing was that parking was such a headache. $16 in the parking garage. And it's $2 for every 15 minutes or so. There's a bunch of fitness classes next door so I believe a lot of the street parking is taken up by them. The other thing is that they forgot my cinnamon bun and I had to go back and ask them, and it's not like they had it waiting I had to ask them and they forgot to even warm it up. read more

I recently tried their Mexican Hot Chocolate and it was delicious! It reminded me of how my family used to make it and it was authentic. The person working the register was very nice! So i give her 5 stars s are . First of all, charging $.50 to make a latte iced drink is lame. But if a places charges $9.12 for a 16oz iced vanilla latte with oat milk it better be perfect. And it was not worth the money. Instant regret when I took a big sip and this slimy clump came up the straw! And it was all in the bottom of the cup. I'm not sure if that's the syrup or what it was. It was completely off putting when I asked the worker behind the counter if the cuban drink could be made iced and the response was something along the lines "if it says iced." I ordered iced. The drink was neither hot nor cold, the ice had already melted, could not taste the coffe or the Condensed milk. I asked for more ice and another barista asked if she should remake it. I gave the feedback. I think it shouldn't have even been a question whether to remake it or not. I choose not bother. read more

Very good costumer service. On a place with so much inconsistency with their products their customer service is top notch. As a local I've been here on 3 separate occasions. First time on a weekend morning with my family. Their lattes were delicious premium coffee for sure. The food was disappointing, their burrito was so small compared to what I've seen online on popular influencer's accounts. Very little protein and tasted old and cold. 2nd time came early before work on a Tuesday since they open early got there around 6:30 am it was empty just me, waited about 15 minutes for two iced lattes. The lattes were delicious. 3rd time I went again with my friends and decided to give their bagel a chance and compared to the other bagel my friend had the cheese on mine wasn't melted and the bagel itself wasn't warm. While my friends' bagels were warm with melted cheese and more sauce. I would recommend the lattes just the food could be underwhelming and portions can be smaller as seen on influencers videos online. read more
