Left green onion ginger sauce Right. Chili sauce (not hot)

Small restaurant that serves an ample entree of chicken. I had the hainan (dark meat) chicken entree and my lunch partner had the fried chicken. Both plates were delicious. The plate is served with a cup of broth, rice, pickled vegetables, and your choice of chicken. I would have loved a bit more of the pickled vegetables. The menu is limited, but we came specially for the chicken. We were acknowledged immediately upon entering the restaurant and service was good. The sauces served with the chicken were delicious and the green onion-ginger sauce brought back fond memories. We each took 1/2 of our plate home ! We found street parking in front of the restaurant. We will be back! PS photos were taken after we started eating

There's just something so comforting about Hainan chicken. Simple but done so well here! Ordered 1 of their Hainan chicken with half white meat and half dark. We also got an order of their fried chicken. Both came with a small cabbage salad and chicken rice and a small cup of broth. What really sets this spot a part is the sauces. I love their ginger scallion that comes with the hainan chicken. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a no frills kinda spot. Food served on a Dixie paper plate but that they lack in frills they make up for in flavor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I love the Hainan chicken here. Chicken is always soft and juicy. I mostly order take out. Occasionally I dine in. There are options to get white or dark meat . I love to get dark meat because it is more juicy. Good portions ! Just one order and I always have leftover for another meal. Service is good and fast....nothing special. [[HIGHLIGHT]]For dine in, sometimes the tables are not that clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It may be only one server most of the time. I prefer to get take out. Street parking

My go to place for hainan chicken. Chicken is tender and flavorful with the best scallion sauce. The rice was super savory. This place can't be beat for comforting chicken and rice. The peanuts and cucumber salad must try items.

We came on Mother's Day and ordered the Combo B, which came with chicken, rice, peanuts, bone broth, and green beans. We added an order of honey wings for our party of 6. Everything was delicious. The tender, juicy chicken came with ginger scallion oil and sweet chilli sauce. We loved the bone broth. It was yummy without any MSG! We had a person with a peanut allergy in our group and the waiter was very informative about the oils that were used to fry the peanuts and the green beans, which I really appreciated! Service was excellent where the waiter was so attentive and predicted our needs, even before we asked! A great dining experience! $73.75 to feed a family of 6 with enough leftovers for lunch for one person.

The menu is short, understandably built around the standout hainan chicken. Delicious food and great bang for your buck.

We went to Cluck2Go in Pasadena (right across PCC) after we went to the Rose Bowl Flea Market yesterday. We were craving the Hainan chicken. When we walked in, all the tables were taken, so we sat on the barstool where we were all facing the wall. We ordered the Combo B (serves 4-5 people), which included one whole chicken, stir-fry string beans, spicy cucumber salad, fried peanuts, chicken soup (large), and 4 chicken rice. The price has gone up to $50.75. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place looked outdated on this visit, and they should do some remodeling work because a big section of the ceiling was peeling off.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Anyhow, the staff were friendly and they asked us if we wanted to change to another table because some customers had already left. They helped us move all the food to the other table. We liked their fried peanuts so much. They were very flavorful and addictive. The stir-fry string beans were also delicious. The spicy cucumber salad was a bit too spicy for me, and I wish it were fresh & crunchy. The chicken rice was dry and not soft, and not flavorful enough. The chicken meat was tender; however, some chicken meat, such as the white meat, was a bit dry. We've had better Hainan Chicken at the other place, so we were a little disappointed this time.

Stopped here on a whim because I was next door thrifting and got hungry. It's great if you have a toddler! She loved the chicken broth and the dark meat chicken. It's very juicy and flavorful even without any sauces. I removed a star because it's being served on paper plates and cups...and the staff barely spoke english but the chicken and rice is delicious and authentic. Would come back here for a quick meal when i'm in pasadena again.

So happy this is near me. Great place to get a quick meal, relatively healthy! I like to get Combo A, even as a solo person. I can break it up into 3 or 4 meals. Their sauces are both so delicious. The broth is solid and soothing, my favorite to get when sick. Chicken is great! Service has always been fast and courteous. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside of the restaurant is cute and simple. Just a few tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Hainan Chicken Rice half white and half dark

I did a grubhub pickup order and appreciated the package. It came in like a lunchbox along with chicken broth. The portion is so big I got to split it onto two. They had the option to have half dark and white meat which were both good. The hainan chicken was well executed, came out juicy. I just wish the rice was more flavorful as I was expecting it to also be tasty. So with every bite of the rice, I also put some broth. The green and orange sauce were both gingery with the orange sauce having a little kick of spice. I'd be happy to go again for a Hainan chicken fix. Plenty of street parking during the day.

Ive always passed by this restaurant and was curious about it. Ive also ordered multiple times through grubhub, but never dined in. Location isn't hard to find, but the name Cluck2Go was hard to see. All I saw was Hainan Chicken in big letters on the storefront and the actual name was small and on the smaller sign. Parking is street, but there is parking in the back alleyway. I parked on the street. Please read the signs because pasadena is really strict on parking enforcement. [[HIGHLIGHT]]On the inside, they have a bar top with some chairs to sit and eat. They also have 3 four top tables and 2 two top tables. Its a small set up, but its pretty roomy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have a gender neutral bathroom and a self serve water set up. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was also very clean and well kept![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You order first and pay afterwards. They bring your order to you and clean up afterwards. I got their dark chicken Hainan chicken and rice. I am not a fan of the pickled veggies so I asked them to put it on the side. Im rating this experience a 4.5 because they did end up putting some veggies on my plate. I tasted the pickled vinegar in my rice and chicken. It was in a small section, so I didnt mention anything. They used regular Dixie-esque paper plates to serve our meals in. It was a very large heaping scoop of rice and they put the ginger and chilis in plastic cups with your meal. My friend said it was spicy! But it was good. Our meals also came with a cup of chicken broth, so he used that to try and calm down the spice level - didnt work. I also ordered their calming chrysanthemum tea. I wished it was colder, but they were nice enough to provide me with some ice on the side for me to add it into my cup. Dining in was nice, but trying to find parking on the street is tough.

Fried Hainan Chicken Rice. Tender chicken, nice crispy batter, very tasty even without the sweet chili sauce.
    J S.

I don't typically get Hainan Chicken bc I don't like the flavor of ginger. Good thing they have a fried chicken option which is really tasty. No ginger taste on the chicken itself, the sweet chili sauce does have a light hint of ginger. Didn't need much of the sauce as the chicken itself is already really flavorful on its own. Nice crispy batter, pretty good portions. And yes, the poached chicken is pretty tender when fried as well.. The string beans were great as well with nice crispy garlic bits. Would go again!

The pastor at my church took us here to break bread as this is his top spot for Hainan chicken. I told him I really like savoy and he thinks this place is way better so here we are. The members at our church are troopers as this restaurant was 30+ min away from church and there were 11 of us. There are street parking and should be enough if people can park correctly but of course a few had to take up two spots and I ended up parking across the street. There's a sign that says one hour parking but does not pertain to Sundays...yay! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place itself is quit small but praise GOD there were no one here when we arrived so we were able to fit everyone here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Instead of being able to order at the front, the waiter made us wait so he can take our order at the table as he stated we are all sitting together. Also means we can only split two bills instead of paying individually. SMH. I was going to give them 3 stars for this but the guy more then made it up with his spectacular service. He started off with getting all of us water and then kept refilling our sauce! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The store could use some remodeling as a big part of the ceiling is peeling off.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] On to the food. I ordered combo A as it's 1/2 chicken compared to individual order which is 1/4 chicken according to the waiter but when comparing side by side we felt the individual order is more then a 1/4 but less then 1/2. Combo A is $2 more but you get fried peanuts and spicy cucumber salad and that's why I ordered that instead but after comparing, I would def order the individual size instead to get more Hainan chicken. The chicken is comparable to savoys but their green onion sauce is out of this world!!! So good! The rice is a bit on the harder side for me but with the green sauce over it, it just made everything taste good lol. The peanuts is good but I'm not really into mala and the cucumber salad is refreshing w a spicy kick. It also comes w chicken broth which was surprisingly healthy tasting. We were expecting msg but nope just light broth. Overall: this place is a bit far from where I live but if I'm ever in the area, I wouldn't mind coming back as the price was very reasonable and service was excellent and the green sauce was so good! [[HIGHLIGHT]]3.5 stars because of the poor store condition. If they fix their ceiling this would be a solid 4 stars![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I was planning to stop here couple days ago but couldn't find parking. Where can I park?

I always just park right in front or across the street on Colorado. There’s usually space even during rush hour. Park run and pick my stuff up run out. The place is so fast. Everything’s always ready to go delicious chicken BTW.

Will they do boneless and/or skinless hainanese chicken rice if asked?

Do you no longer include the sauces for Hainan chicken rice? I ordered three orders through UberEats, and no sauce was included. Do we have to order them separately and pay extra for the sauce? The photo in the menu shows two sauces as part of it.

Do they include the soup in takeout?

    Yes

Do they no longer include the chicken soup with the regular orders? Mine didn't come with today.

Hello Mathew, we are temporarily unable to provide soup to our Hainan chicken rice dishes because there is a shortage in all paper soup cups right now, we have not been able to get any shipments of 8oz paper cups for the last two months and for the…

Did they get rid of the noodle soup?

yes and the curry ! back to savoy i guess

I understand the delivery fee, but what is the added $6+ service fee for?

Dine-In Last Time. Sorry Don't Know Abt Delivery.

Do they use cage free chicken, free range, organic?

    Hahaha, I highly doubt it.

    Are you gluten free?

Rice is gluten free and you can always not order the fried chicken

    Do they have brown rice?

No, but they make a chicken flavored rice that is cooked in chicken broth. It's really good.

The quality of the meat was excellent, and every dish was packed with flavor. The service was calm, friendly, and attentive. I was actually surprised by how quiet it was because the food deserves a much bigger crowd. What really blew me away was the portion size for the price. The servings were huge and such a great value. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is located behind the restaurant at a local medical building parking lot. It's $1 each 9 minutes with a max of $13. Or you can try to find street parking and walk on over. Food: I ordered a Lychee Martini, Saigon Summer, Mamasan's Shrimp Cake Skewers, Truffle Wok Seared Noodles with Scallop, Slow-Drip Vietnamese Coffee Flan, and Banyan Tree Ice Cream. Before I started ordering, I was immediately given some house made complimentary shrimp chips. I loved how light and airy it was. It also had an amazing crunch. It tasted just like shrimps hahaha. My lychee martini was a crisp, refreshing cocktail that perfectly balances floral sweetness with tart acidity. Order this! The Saigon summer is a spicy, tropical blend of tequila, lime leaf liqueur, agave, butterfly pea infused triplum, and a Thai chili infusion. Not really up my alley, but I'm glad I was able to try it out. I think I dislike anything spicy and super bitter in my drinks. It just tasted odd. Mamasan's shrimp cake skewers features crispy, deep-fried shrimp cakes flavored with kaffir lime and lemongrass. It is served with skewers, charred pineapple, and a sweet garlic chili dip. Definitely get this. It was so crunchy, massive, and mouthwatering. The charred pineapple provided a sour yet sweet taste that helped off set the savory seafood / fishy taste in your mouth. The truffle wok seared noodles with scallop is a dish that combines savory, smoky flavor with luxurious truffle and tender scallops, which bridges the gap between classic Asian stir-fry and Italian comfort food. As a massive sucker for Italian food and all things truffle, this dish was my favorite. The al dente handmade egg noodles were wok-tossed in a rich black truffle sauce with delicious mushrooms, fresh Brussels sprout leaves, and perfectly seared scallops. I loved that I could taste the black truffles. The truffles added a nice rich, earthy, and highly savory flavor with prominent notes roasted nuts. GET THIS DISH!!!!! The slow-drip Vietnamese coffee flan is a silky, rich egg custard infused with bold phin-drip coffee and sweetened condensed milk. It offers a perfect balance of bitter roasted coffee and sweet creamy custard. This dish was super smooth, creamy, and delicious. I loved that Star Leaf added their own twist to this dish by putting a caramel golden cage on top of this already phenomenal tasting dessert. The caramel golden cage gave this flan a nice crunch. This dish wasn't too sweet for me. As a hater of super sweet things, this flan was just right. The banyan tree ice cream was a great way to end the meal. Super refreshing! I got two scoops of Thai tea ice cream and one scoop of the coconut ice cream. Both flavors were fantastic and tasted very creamy. Not too sweet, which is how I like it. Staff: The staff here are very attentive, friendly, welcoming, and polite. Elysha waited on me when I went. She was very attentive, informative, and personable. Ordered for takeout and it was ready right on time when I arrived. The packaging was nicely done…read moreand the staff handing the food was friendly. We ordered: + Cream cheese wontons - the wonton was fried light but crispy, and filling was plentiful. A little pricey without having any imitation crab or green onion in there. (5 for $10.95). + Tom Kah Soup - this tasted pretty good but not like other tom kah soups I've had? The opacity of the soup was a little more transparent. Veggies included tomato, mushrooms, broccoli, and cabbage. + Kang Kiew Wan (Green Curry) - with chicken. First bites were excellent but as you ate on, it was on a saltier side so make sure to have rice on hand. Ordering here, rice is an add on but we cooked some at home so was all good. Besides the wontons, the price to portions of the other items were very good. We ordered through doordash and the price was consistent as what was on their menu too.

Hands down one of my favorite local take out joints. The food here is fantastic! Loaded with lots…read moreof flavor and zapp! I can't recommend this place enough. Here are my families favorites: Yellow chicken curry (mild) Spicy wings (they have a sweet chili glaze ) Pad Thai combination (with a lil extra sauce) Rad Na noodles (gravy is tasty!) Chicken Satay (ooh that peanut sauce is ) Papaya salad (brings a nice freshness and crunch!) Mango sticky rice (light coconut flavor and light sweetness, so good!) Even for a sit down restaurant, the ambiance is nice here too. Just small inside, so not ideal for large parties. The staff is very friendly too!

Open on July 4th! That alone deserves 5 stars, just kidding! Seriously, the food is truly…read moreoutstanding -- spicy flat rice noodle with beef (pad kee mao) is not overcooked like some other places ("Thai Central" in Thai Town) and has the familiar texture and 'wok air' of the Cantonese beef chow fun. The traditional pad thai is also excellent. But our favorite is the Thai curry bowl (comes with white rice)....it's the curry dish for people who don't like curry...it's that good! The satay chicken skewers are a perfect appetizer.

Smaller place than look in the picture. We got there in time with a biggest table near the entrance…read morethat 2 guests were able to leave in a minute. We've 5 people which fit well for that table of 6. Food portions are little small for that price. Taste was not bad but nothing that had made me remember. Only thing was Pad Thai noodles were pretty good & chewy in texture so not too bad. The chicken skewers were not much flavor & dry. Dishes were a bit oily. It's pricy for their portion & probably not returning for that & flavors weren't kicking. DID I MENTION ADDING BEEF (chicken is free) TOPPING TO CURRY ORDER IS +$3 & SEAFOOD I think was $8! Another thing was unhappy with them is CHARGING 20% MANDATORY TIPS! So be careful & read before you pay! We came because of Moom 48 closed today/Monday! They've better price, normal to bigger portions of food, haven't tried their lunch special yet & much bigger restaurant than here.
