Millies is POPULAR popular! We waited 45 minutes just to get seated (and apparently Sundays are even worse ). Inside was packed and loud, so we ended up sitting outside--which honestly was the better choice. The food was solid, but after a 45-minute wait, I was expecting a little more than just a good breakfast. Service was pretty quick once we were seated. The biggest plot twist? The shared restroom for both male and female customers was a disaster, with water all over the floor. Shared restrooms usually don't turn out well, and this one definitely proved the point. Overall, glad we tried it, but I'm not sure the food is worth the wait... or the bathroom experience.
Having seen lines out the door every weekend for brunch, I was curious to try Millie's. Came on a saturday 10am and there is a waitlist (you can add yourself to it in yelp). I had the chicken and waffles - chicken was not as moist or crispy, waffles was fine. Nothing amazing, would not order this again. I enjoyed my pistachio matcha latte. My husband's corned beef hash was pretty good, tasty, as were the roasted potatoes. The pancakes and breakfast burritos looked pretty good. Lots of tables on the sidewalk, with decent shade, medium sized space inside.

Servers were attentive and on top of things. Prices were fair and the setting is chill and cozy. Highly recommend if you're in the area!
Brunch at Millie's is phenomenal. Service is fantastic. The food and drinks are top tier. We can't stop ordering the same things we tried at our first visit because it was that memorable. The ambiance is clean, great natural light indoors, with options to seat outdoors. This restaurant is busy for good reason. Highly recommend and placing your reservations through Yelp. Within minutes we were seated upon arrival. Great food, good vibes, intentional, and welcoming.
The foods pretty incredible and they have a whole vegan section I got the vegan usual pancakes and they were pretty good You couldn't tell they were vegan or gluten free. They're a little more dense than real pancakes but they tasted great Got the chipotle sausage and plant based eggs and hash browns The hashbrowns were really good. Very flavorful!!
I came to Millie's because of all the great reviews--over a thousand of them--so I figured this place had to be doing something right. Walking in, it definitely has that California/Pasadena neighborhood café vibe, and I was looking forward to a solid breakfast. I'll start with the positive: Joey, the host, was awesome. Great attitude, welcoming, attentive--exactly how you want to be treated when you walk into a restaurant. Unfortunately, it went downhill from there. I ordered bacon medium, and it initially came out crispy. When I mentioned it to the guy bringing out the food, instead of simply saying, "No problem, we'll fix it," I got attitude and a response like, "What is medium?" Second round of bacon was actually good, so obviously it could be done. The biggest disappointment was the chicken fried chicken. The chicken breast was extremely dry. The potatoes were good, the eggs were good, but the main part of the meal just wasn't there. When it was time to pay, Elizabeth brought my check and I politely gave her my feedback. I wasn't asking for anything free. I wasn't trying to get the meal taken off the bill. I paid for my food. I simply explained that the chicken was really dry and asked whether they hear that complaint often. Her response was basically, "Everybody has their own opinion." And that right there killed the experience for me. Of course everybody has an opinion--that's exactly what a review is. But when a paying customer calmly gives you feedback about the food, there's a difference between saying, "I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it, I'll mention it to the kitchen," and basically dismissing them. For a locally known café with this many reviews, I expected more pride in both the food and the customer service. I'm not comparing Millie's to Denny's or some giant chain. I actually expect more from an independent neighborhood café. Joey: great job. Potatoes and eggs: good. Second bacon: good. Chicken fried chicken: dry and disappointing. Handling of customer feedback: terrible. I came in because of the reputation. Unfortunately, my experience didn't live up to it.
I came here when in the area and craving a savory breakfast. Thankfully, they have an array of options with a vegan menu composed of everything from breakfast burritos to waffles and pancakes. When I stepped inside, I was greeted right away by the very friendly staff. I was seated right by the window where I was able to people watch. I was so happy they it was nice and cool inside, as it was sweltering hot outside! They were very fast when taking my order. I ordered the vegan famous breakfast burrito with the plant based Mexican chipotle sausage. It was just as delicious as the menu described it to be. The burrito was fully loaded with tofu eggs, which were crumbly and salted, some buttery avocado slices, crispy tater tots that were fried to perfection, and delectable and melty vegan cheese. The Mexican chipotle sausage worked so well in the burrito, adding a nice savory and meaty flavor while also adding some heat to the dish. I felt so great after eating it and it was very filling. The ambiance here was lovely and it was fun, upbeat and cheery. The seating was so comfortable and I felt relaxed and at ease while dining here. I loved the promptness and attention to detail. I didn't end up getting coffee, as I already drank 2 cups before coming here and it was barely noon. But the smell of espresso had me drooling and making me wish I could stomach a third cup! But it gives me a reason to return! Along with so many other enticing vegan dishes! Parking was super easy as I found a spot on the street right in front of the restaurant. But they also have a parking lot behind the restaurant with plenty of parking!
We came to have brunch on a Saturday afternoon and thank goodness they have this waitlist available. Put our name down close to 11am and it was it was 30-45 min wait. So we were able to kill time until then! Located next to Honey & Lavender, parking lot available in the back, not that small! Once seated, we got to order the California Benedicts and the Country Fried Steak. It actually didn't take too long for our order to arrive, which we were surprised they are very quick and efficient with service! Although, the food was very underwhelming. California Benedict was pretty basic, or just the bare minimum actually. It was okay, ingredients don't really stand out. My bf's country fried steak, he was disappointed that the steak didn't even look fried. He wasn't really a fan of his order lol. I thought the potatoes were pretty decent, although I wish they were cut smaller into like breakfast potatoes. They were so chunky, but also wish they could be fried more. Overall, I feel like we chose the wrong items from this place lol, but these were the items highlighted on the Yelp page? Maybe it didn't help that we were seated next to the kitchen or a cart full of dirty dishes bc I just kept smelling that as we were eating.
Highly recommend putting your name on the list as the wait time can be high, but it does go by fast. Kudos to the staff for all working together to really serve the customers. I was very impressed with the overall customer service. Now it makes sense why they have been in business for 100 years. The true test was trying out some basic dishes to see how good the food is. Pancake, 1/2 order of French toast, and of course a half an order of biscuits and gravy topped with scrambled eggs. The pancake was soft and fluffy. It was so good I really wanted to fold it up to eat as a taco, but I didn't want to be judged. It was so good that it left me wanting to risk all my manners. The French toast was excellent. Each bite was consistently delicious, well made and great flavor. The half order of biscuits and gravy paired with scrambled eggs is excellent. The biscuits were delicious, the gravy had a great rosemary taste, and the gravy is a bit on the thinner side. Personally it wasn't a deal breaker for me. It was still delicious. What would have made my simple meal perfect was coffee with creamer. They only serve half and half. Not a deal breaker but I prefer creamer giving it a true diner feel to it. Still giving 5 stars because the service and food was perfect. Thank you again! Definitely will be back!
8/3/26 Decent service, good food, mom n pop type of feel & ambiance in the heart of Pasadena. Indoor & outdoor seating available, dine-in & to-gos. Parking, street, free. Had this bookmarked & noticed that a few Yelp Friends have left their reviews on here. It looks like that hometown feel type of shop but the experience today was NOT that. Service was polite but not quite that welcoming that you would feel at a mom n pops shop. It's too bad coz if it were, we would frequent this diner/cafe. Most places that we're regulars at, we feel valued as patrons and are welcomed like family. I find less and less places have this kind of atmosphere. We ordered breakfast staples; Hubby ordered a machaca combo with flour tortillas & black beans, I opted for the (2 large!) banana walnut pancakes combo with chicken apple sausage, potatoes & over medium eggs. Our food arrived timely, hot and good presentation. Hubby said the machaca was decent because having had his fair share of machaca, these passed. My pancakes were huge! Flavor was good, as the banana slices & walnuts were cooked in, not just placed on top like most places. Macadamias would've been a better pairing though. The chicken apple sausage was flavorful & eggs were cooked as requested. Noise level was somewhat loud with all the clanging as tables were cleaned/bussed around us. Overall a decent experience for our first time visit, as mentioned, if the service was more thoughtful & welcoming, it would've made the difference from a 3 star to perhaps a 4 or a 5 star. Food for thought.
We got lucky and came on Friday before 11:00 am. There was no wait indoors and plenty of tables outside. We ordered right away and it came out pretty quickly. I had the Maynard's Special which was eggs scrambled with toasted pine nuts, spinach and goat cheese. I added mushrooms and it was excellent. I loved the pine nuts. it was a great addition to the eggs and spinach. The onions on top came from my daughter who didn't care for them and added it to my plate.
First time trying Millie's. Was yummy. Wait times are definitely lengthy, so I'd recommend joining the online waitlist in advance. Lattes were tasty and the designs were really pretty. Friendly and fast service. A bit uncomfortable if you choose to sit outside, because there are a lot of guests standing and waiting to be seated, right next to the tables. Inside seating is a bit tight, due to the large crowds. There are an assortment of gluten free menu items to choose from as well, which is great. Overall, the food was good and it was a nice dining experience.
Went on a very grueling hike, so we came to Millie's Cafe for a well-earned reward of a meal! My mind had been thinking of a breakfast burrito for hours, so naturally I ended up order the Famous Breakfast Burrito with my choice of meat beating Sausage Link. The burrito was really well-constructed. Very well balanced between the eggs and crispy tater tots! Was also a bit bemused that they didn't have hash browns on the weekend, but ordered some tasty Rosemary Potatoes instead. Staff here were great. Really nice to us even though the restaurant was about to wrap up for the day. Definitely worth the visit, need to check out some of the other menu items.

Now I know why this place is always so busy!!! Be sure to put your name on the Yelp waitlist at peak times. Service is very friendly and fairly quick. Their menu is HUGE, and really has a little bit of something for everyone whether it's brunch or lunch. They also have an extensive beverage menu. And if you are a picky eater or have dietary restrictions, you're most likely still going to find several options for you to enjoy. (Hello vegan menu!) Our family had a little bit of everything and thought everything was delicious. We will definitely be back when we're in the area. read more

Deeply personable staff, their uniforms are refreshingly casual but in synch. I ate outside because it was a nice day and there's plenty of umbrellas to provide shade. I ordered the chilaquiles and it was good. The owner personally delivered our drinks and food. read more

Breakfast here is real good and they give you decent portion sizes. Service was fast and friendly. It was really crowded and I can see why. They also have a large selection of vegan dishes. read more
To say this place is popular would almost be an understatement. How can a breakfast place be this packed on a weekday at 10:30 AM?! I literally got the last seat in the joint, and it's not a small place, with indoor and outdoor seating. Due to the popularity, finding parking is a bit of a chore. They have a lot but it is obviously filled to capacity with people waiting in the aisles for someone to leave. Service was very friendly and attentive. They're busy, and thankfully they employ a rather large staff of servers and busboys. And the food? It's killer. I got the pistachio latte, which was amazing and almost comically large. I also got the lavender lemonade, which is just freshly made lemonade with a lavender syrup poured in, sitting sadly on the bottom. Just stick with regular lemonade. I ordered the blueberry French toast, a side of bacon, and some hash browns - which I think they only have on weekdays. The waitress was very helpful and nice and pointed out I should get the combo with two eggs for less money. I did, even though I don't eat eggs, and took a couple cooked over hard home for my son. They looked good. The blueberry French toast was terrific. Excellent flavor, great texture, and the right balance so it wasn't too sweet overall with the syrup. The bacon was great, but it's usually hard to screw up bacon unless the stuff has gone bad. The hash browns were the only disappointment. They look good, but they are a little greasy and not very well seasoned. They're basically too bland. Still, this is one of the best breakfasts I've had in the San Gabriel Valley and around Pasadena. I can see why it's so busy, and I will definitely be back. Recommended. Just go! read more
Revisited with my wife for another brunch occasion and we might be more impressed this time than our previous visit. It was packed as usual and we got on the Yelp waitlist about 15 minutes before arrival which is always recommended. After being seated, we placed our order quickly and our food came out more quickly than our previous visit which is a great sign to see especially since they're busy all the time. This time around, I got the California Omelet and my wife got the Maynard Scramble. Both were absolutely phenomenal, potatoes are perfectly cooked and eggs were perfect as well. Both dishes aren't too filling as well which is great. Portions that they hand out are always big so prepare for a big FEAST. Absolutely love coming to Millies, can't wait for the next visit to try other menu items. read more

Parking: Millie's Cafe is located on the corner of Hill and Washington. There is usually street parking on Hill. Exterior: There are tables set up on the sidewalk for outdoor dining. Interior: The interior was pretty crowded. The tables were very close together so it was also very noisy as people try to talk over each other. Service: It usually takes me about 30-45 minutes to get seated. The waitlist is pretty long and you can sign up ahead on Yelp. Food: The food is pretty good. I have tried several omeletes. The Denver omelet is probably my favorite. They are loaded with ingredients and the egg is usually cooked perfectly unlike some places where it just ends up dry or burnt. Their pancakes are also great. They are made to order and extremely fluffy. I will definitely be back for more. read more
This place is such a treat to go to. Despite being busy they seated us right away, took our orders gave us our food exactly the way we wanted it and we were out of there in no time! I got the California eggs Benedict with 4 eggs and potato's! Soooo good and I tried a lemon ricotta pancake also extremely yummy. The bathrooms are nice seating inside and all around the outside. Servers are very fast, polite, and diligent with their customers! I wish more places could be like this everywhere! read more

I've always heard Millie's was the place for brunch. Our son had a long weekend off school, so we went out on a Friday to spend some time with him and decided to come here for brunch. I read online that their Silverlake location is smaller with first-come, first-served seating, while the Pasadena location has both indoor and outdoor seating. It's highly recommended to use the Yelp waitlist, as the lines can get long. We joined the waitlist before we arrived and it said we were fourth in line, but we were quickly seated at a table of our choice without waiting, which was nice. They provide water and glasses at the table, along with standard diner condiments. I started with a coffee ($5.00), which was refillable, so you definitely get your money's worth. They refilled it twice for us. I had a lot of energy when we left! Our son wanted pancakes but couldn't decide. We ordered two single pancakes: an original ($6) and a blueberry pancake ($8.00). I tried a bite of the blueberry pancake, and it was a solid, fluffy pancake. My wife ordered two eggs, hash browns with her choice of meat and toast. She chose sausage and sourdough toast. The sausages were large and had a maple flavor, which we both liked and would order again. The hash browns were excellent, and our son ended up eating my wife's, and she ended up with his pancakes, much to her chagrin. Being the nice mother she is, she was happy to let our son eat her food. I ordered one of their specialties, the Devil's Mess, and it was a bit underwhelming, to be honest. I liked the sour cream and guacamole on top, but it didn't have enough spice for me. I asked for some hot sauce and salsa. There's a $1 up-charge for a small container of salsa, which was pretty good and exactly what I needed for my Devil's Mess. You can choose between home fries or hash browns, and I went with the home fries, which were great. I wouldn't order the Devil's Mess again, but I'm glad I tried it. We will definitely be back and order two plates of what my wife gets so our son and she can both have the food they want. I'll probably try the Chicken Fried Steak next time. It's one of my all-time favorite dishes, and I'm kicking myself for not ordering it! read more

Stopped by Millie's Cafe and overall had a solid experience. The portions are definitely on the bigger side, which is always a plus, though the food itself was just okay. We ordered the country fried steak and the chicken & waffles benedict--the benedict was pretty decent and satisfying, but the country fried steak was a bit bland and could've used more flavor. The Blueberry Oat Matcha wasn't overly sweet, which I really liked--it had a nice balance. Service was great--our servers were attentive and helpful throughout. Just a heads up, it gets packed pretty quickly, so I'd recommend going early. I'd come back to try their chilaquiles next time. read more

Absolutely loved my experience at Millie's Cafe! The food was delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented, and the burger and fries were especially tasty. I came to visit this spot after a morning of hiking. There is a parking lot in the back , however it was full at the time I went so I parked on the street by a church. I was seated outside by the street , tables were a bit small & close, but still cozy. Staff was friendly & open to questions. I went with the Eleanor special which was a 10/10 , the potatoes were made with rosemary & seasonings. I also had an iced matcha latte with a pump of vanilla. There are other sweeteners that can be added as well which was a plus. I would love to come back to try their waffles ! read more
The food was delicious. I enjoyed my breakfast burrito but next time I want to get the slutty bun. The Arnold Palmer was delicious as well. The service was great and I like how attentive the Pasadena location is with the clientele. The ambiance is pretty small, I wish there was bigger space because it is a bit of everyone on top of everyone. One of favorite breakfast spots in Pasadena for sure! A lot of people feel the same way, it's always a packed house and the line is long. Highly suggest joining their waitlist. The staff are accommodating and nice. You can see how the place operates so smoothly. They all work really well together and are friendly people. The food is tasty and comforting. Coffee drinks are great as well! They have seating inside and outside along the perimeter of the building. It's got a nice old diner feel to it. Come try em out for yourself! Finally had an opportunity to try this place. It was a nice day out in Pasadena for some breakfast, so we took advantage of it. We added our names to the waitlist which helped us. I ordered the banana walnut pancake and an omelette to share with my friend. I also got a latte which was great to drink with the breakfast options I had. Knocking down a star cause it was pretty tight in there, which made it hard for me to maneuver my stroller (I will say, my stroller is a bit bulky, but that's a me problem I guess). This is our first time visiting. Customer service is good, very busy place. Order to meal to table was astonishingly quick, very surprising and happy about that. Ambiance is very cozy kitchen, they have a great latte menu!! Highly recommend read more

Yes, you can order take out, but sometimes they get so busy on the weekends they might not accept take out orders for a bit. It slows the kitchen down & they usually have a long waitlist to get seated.
