We came in for a late lunch on Sunday. We had a reservation so we didn't have to wait. The restaurant is clean and inviting. We ordered the cauliflower and dumplings as appetizers. I highly recommend both. Our appetizers came out before our drinks. Taking about 15 minutes. Other guests enjoyed the jambalaya, pizza, salmon, and carrots. I ordered the chicken Parmesan, I suggest not ordering that dish. Very bland and nothing to write home about. The matcha latte, margarita mocktail, and iced shakerato were tasty. Cute spot for lunch.

This is one of my go to spots in Pasadena for meeting up with friends and family. They take reservations, have a full bar, and a varied menu that I have found can suit anyone's tastes and preferences! They have options for those with dietary restrictions and also can modify as needed. My favorite dishes are the edamame dumplings - SO GOOD - and the air fried chicken sandwich, but everything I've had is tasty. The ambiance is also really nice - it is a large space with both indoor and outdoor dining and is a nicely decorate space. Service always very friendly and professional. Definitely recommend :)

Recently had a chance to dine here. It's been here for ages, but never quite made it here until recently. On my visit, I was able to try a few dishes. + burger + hummus + edamame truffle dumplings + kale salad Out of all the items, my favorite was the edamame truffle dumplings. I probably personally wouldn't order the hummus again as it was a little too dry for me. The space itself is really nice and spacious. Located in Old town Pasadena, it's a great spot if you're looking for clean good eats.

This restaurant uses only avocado and olive oil when preparing their dishes. Unlike, similar establishments who use other seed oils, which are less healthy. I ordered a tuna bowl with black rice, edamame, jalapeños and avocado paste. I also ordered a side of roasted cauliflower. Each dish was flavorful and cooked perfectly. They have several locations, one being in Las Vegas. The menu is vast offering a variety of dishes.

This True Food Kitchen is located in the Old Town Pasadena area. There's parking structures nearby and street meter parking around the block. The service is excellent. We were seated with enthusiasm, and our server excelled in attentiveness and explaining recommendations. I got to try a variety of items. As an appetizer, the edamame dumplings were excellent - umami, somewhat nutty and creamy. However, it only came with five dumplings and was small for the price. As a side, the cheese mash potatoes were addictive! For entree, I got the jambalaya pasta which - it had spices, sausages, chicken, and bold flavors. For the pizza, I got the seasonal butternut squash raisin pizza - it tasted healthy, but was not for me. Overall, True Foods has a varied menu that can please all palettes. Their customer service is great, and their healthy seasonal plates are worth trying. I'd come back.

I come here often and the service, ambience and, most importantly, the food have been great! Ample outdoor seating so it's beautiful on a nice day out in Pasadena. I can't complain about any dishes I've had. If you're looking for an organic centered restaurant with delicious food, then I highly suggest you try True Foods Kitchen. I haven't been to other locations but I can say this one has been consistent for years. The one item of all the numerous dishes we've tried that was not a hit was the air fried potatoes. Reservations recommended for peak hours and weekends but a pleasant place to wait if needed. Doesn't have it's own parking lot so look for metered street parking or surrounding public parking lots. Great location at the end of Colorado shopping street so a good place to walk around after you've enjoyed your meal.

Love love love True Food Kitchen in Pasadena ... anytime I eat here it makes me feel so healthy. My go to order here is the ancient grains bowl. My protein of choice is usually the blackened salmon. I love getting this because there's a good variety in this bowl - sweet potatoes, grilled onion, quinoa, snap peas, mushrooms, and a delicious sesame pistachio pesto avocado paste. It never makes me feel bad either -- a great healthy option :) I have never eaten this here but always order it to-go since my work does pick up for lunch. I would love to come back yo enjoy the sit down experience though. I'll be back v soon! :)

Came to celebrate my husband's birthday. Location is on a great corner spot. Parking was easy. Two large dining sides with a cute little courtyard Ordered butternut squash soup which was very flavorful. Cauliflower and Brussels sprouts are super delicious both are must haves. We split the mushroom beet vegan burger with air fried fries the bun was fresh with tomato and lettuce and pickled purple onion. Shared the kale salad with shrimp and parm cheese. Ordered the Juniper Rose to drink which is a gin based cocktail. I don't like gin but wanted to try it our server called it the patio ponder. WOW yes patio pounder for sure it was so fricken good you need another hence the name patio pounder. Lol service was friendly and the staff pleasant. My only complaint is not enough lighting. Over all this is my new favorite spot. Have to give it 4 Stars because the lighting was just not right.

I've passed True Food Kitchen for years and was excited to finally give it a try! They have a variety of items on their menu that focuses on "healthier" ingredients and they clearly state the calories and protein for each item, which as someone who tries to eat high protein, I really appreciated. I ordered the lasagne al pesto, which had turkey sausage bolognese, pistachio pesto, organic spinach, ricotta, tresh mozzarella, basil. Overall, I wouldn't say I was mind blown with it, but it definitely satisfied my lasagna craving while not feeling incredibly heavy like a more traditional lasagna. I also ordered a carrot cake to go and I was pleasantly surprised by it considering that it was gluten free--it was still super moist and flavorful. The restaurant itself is beautiful--it's a great spot for date night or to catch up with friends. Service was also friendly. It's located in old town Pasadena, so street parking can be a bit tough, but there is a cheap structure nearby that you can park at.

We made a reservation in advance for Saturday afternoon. It was a little busy but not too bad. We started off with the Brussel sprouts appetizer. Charred and flavorful. I got the Apple lemonade since it was in season. That was amazing. There was cinnamon on top but I couldn't taste the lemonade so much lol. My friend got the chamomile tea. I opted for the ahi tuna bowl. That was interesting to say at least ! I did like the grains and the seasoning. I added some limes on it. My friend got the all American burger with air fried fries. There was a lot of seating outside and inside. Pretty bigger than expected ! Coolest part is that you can see the kitchen as you eat. Very IBS friendly. They usually don't use any seed oils. Lots of options for vegan, vegetarian and gluten free

Used to really love this place, but most of their food is pretty bland and overpriced. I really do like their edamame hummus and love the edamame dumplings, but those are the only two dishes I'd go back for.

We came with a group on a saturday and they were able to seat us immediately - plenty of parking in the large plaza where the Hat and Shiki Buffet is (previously hometown buffet location). Since we were eager to try the different types of food, we did a family style and that was the best decision. We also got eggplant, and the rice cake/egg. I thought the rice cake looked underwhelming, but our entire group had a consensus and voted that as the top fave of the night. Everything was super tasty and we left happy and full and with leftovers! Super excited to return and to recommend to others. I look forward to come back to try some of the other items such as the "beef" noodle soup or the bun rieu or pho! I also appreciate that some of the dishes came with rice included -we actually ended up with too much rice, but perfect for leftovers the next day. We've had a couple veggie Viet places nearby, but hadn't tried this one just yet, so we stopped by on a Sunday night. When we pulled up, it was still rather empty, but we must have started the dinner rush because within 30 minutes the restaurant was packed! We picked two veggie noodle soups, which we came here for, but they ironically were everyone's least favorite dishes. Our top two dishes were the spring rolls and the cold noodles. Even so, everything was both light but flavorful, so mission accomplished! It's always pretty difficult to find a restaurant to suit the palate of my family, and no one walked away complaining, so I'll call this a win! Ultimately it's a place I'd come back if I were nearby but I probably wouldn't drive out for. Everything else: The interior is clean, pretty bare, and very much has the mom and pop store feel. It's nestled in a plaza with Asian architectural aesthetics, and shares the same lot as some other restaurants, a dance studio, and a Japanese goods store. I would have preferred for it to have some kind of spice that lacked too. The drumsticks were the main item I visited for and they were good; however, they were on dowels vs. sugar cane... just a different vibe, not a deal breaker. Two issues with my visit here: 1. asked for a sweet chili sauce, but it has no chili in it, just a sugary sauce AND when I got my bill I was charged extra for the sauce but no mention of this when I ordered it. I have no issue paying for extra sauces 1. If the sauce is worth a hoot and 2. Awareness that I'm paying for it. Prices are a little high for the quality of food. The parking lot is a little undersized for the amount of businesses in the little strip mall area. One MAJOR complaint and issue 2. They claim the restroom is out of order (which I saw on previous reviewers posts, which was over 1 month ago)... idk how a business can operate without a restroom for customers. I get emergency situations, but how have they gone this long without a working restroom for customers? To make this situation even worse, it doesn't appear they have any neighboring businesses to partner with on this issue because if you need the restroom they tell you to go across the street to Trader Joe's. Next time I'm in the area, I'll just grab something from TJ's to eat and not worry about dining at My Vegan.

We ordered the spicy eggplant, fried mushroom in sweet and sour sauce, house special tofu and orange veggie chicken. Everything was good but we all agreed that the orange veggie chicken and the mushroom sweet and sour were our favorites. Both dishes had the right amount of sweetness and were balanced in its seasoning. The spicy eggplant wasn't spicy at all since they default to making it mild unless you say otherwise. The tofu dish was more like braised tofu in brown sauce but it didn't have any distinctive character. I think next time we will have to try a different tofu dish. The restaurant itself has more of a casual feel. It's not terribly huge so I can see how busy it could get on more popular celebratory days. For us at around 5:30 on a Saturday evening it was not too crowded. The service was very friendly and quick. They were very attentive to our needs and even boxed our left over for us. Free parking is available in the parking structure for the shopping plaza.

The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between modern and cozy, with a clean, relaxing atmosphere that makes you want to linger a little longer. Service is equally impressive -- the staff is attentive, welcoming, and genuinely hospitable without being overbearing. Overall, a standout experience from start to finish. Highly recommend if you're craving top-tier dumplings in a comfortable, well-run setting. They are great for takeout as I did for this nice rainy evening.

Parking looks like it…read morecould be a little rough at busy times, but we showed up a little after lunch and found street parking. We were seated right away. The place is clean and bright. No one was playing anything on their cell phone speakers, which is something that I will leave a restaurant for immediately now. I think restaurants should be mindful of the atmosphere for their guests. The menu was fairly broad, lots of choices of things that were vegetarian. But there was a real lack of dumplings, which the place is named for that didn't contain beef or pork. There was really only one chicken choice, and one veggie. We ordered the Dan Dan noodles which were really good, but the serving size was skimpy. We also ordered the chicken soup dumplings which were very good and the shrimp wontons also really good in a chili oil and soy sauce. The Szechuan spicy chicken was uninspired. Deep fried nuggets of chicken with some szechuan chili powder sprinkled on them. I wouldn't order it again. The scallion pancakes were also good, but were not served with any kind of sauce. Perhaps this is authentic, but I'm used to them having hoisin sauce on the side. Service was attentive and fast. Everything arrived quickly and was hot and well prepared. I would definitely return and try some new things.

I'll be upfront: I'm an omnivore and a big fan of meat, so I don't walk into vegetarian restaurants…read moreexpecting to be blown away. Thien Tam Vegetarian Restaurant proved me completely wrong. The standout dish for me was the vegetarian Bún Bò Huế, and honestly this is where they won me over. The broth was deeply flavorful, rich, and aromatic with that signature Huế spice and lemongrass heat. It had real depth and complexity, not a watered-down substitute version. The plant-based proteins had great texture and absorbed the flavors beautifully, to the point where I never felt like anything was missing. This wasn't "good vegetarian food." This was just excellent Vietnamese food, period. Everything tasted fresh, portions were generous, and the balance of spice, savory, and brightness was spot on. Even as someone who regularly eats traditional Bún Bò Huế, I was genuinely impressed by how satisfying and comforting this version was. Service was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere made it an easy place to relax and enjoy the meal. If you're vegetarian, Thien Tam is a must-visit. If you're an omnivore who thinks vegetarian food won't hit the same, I assure you the food here will make you rethink that assumption.

I usually only order pho when I go to viet places so I wanted to expand my tastebuds and try other things. We came around 9:30 AM on Saturday morning and they open at 8 AM. Parking wasn't an issue as they have a decent-sized lot. We were greeted by friendly waiters and ordered the following items: 1. Bun Hue: 6/10 Standard noodles with veggie meats. Nothing too surprising but this was one of their more popular items according to Yelp. I appreciated the amount of veggies. 2. Banh Xeo: 7/10 This was really interesting! I didn't expect the dish to look like that but I enjoyed eating the rice noodle patties. They were delicious and the veggies were all charred well. The "gravy" was a bit weird but I used it as a sauce for the patties. 3. Pho Ap Chao: 7/10 Never had a vegan omelette before so this was a first! Lots of bean sprouts and daikon (?) radish inside. The exterior was crispy and tasted like curry? Very filling dish and they also provide lettuce/fish sauce that we eat it together with. Overall, it was a good place to try and I appreciated how they let us sit for almost 3 hours since there weren't any other customers until 11ish. Felt very healthy afterwards since it was all veggies and price wise, it's decent.
