The ladies who work here are all so sweet and friendly! It's like going to a house full of nice aunties. I ordered for pick up and they were so welcoming and offered me water as I waited. The restaurant is upstairs in a shared plaza and has ample parking (but I didn't see an elevator on that side of the building). The three cup chicken and eggplant basil lunch special were delicious. Very healthy! They are very generous with their portion sizes and I was shocked at how heavy the bag was. The restaurant was very clean and open and looked very nice to dine in.
Vege Valley is located near the corner the second floor of a plaza with parking on the main floor as well as underground parking. As the name of the restaurant says, everything here is vegetarian. There is a variety of imitation protein to go along with your veggie dishes. The servers were very nice and courteous. We ordered Crispy Veggie Seafood Roll, Hot and Sour Soup, Vege Kidney with Basil, King Oyster Mushroom and Yam with Basil, Shredded Bean Curd with Baby Bamboo and Dessert. Everything was pretty flavorful. My favorite out of all of the orders was the shredded bean curd. I always enjoy eating these types of bean curd dishes with a slight crunch of the bamboo. My wife enjoyed the Crispy Veggie Seafood Roll and that seem to be a big hit around the table. My parents usually order the veggie kidney with basil dish wherever they go to these vegetarian restaurants and they enjoyed this dish here as well. Overall, our group enjoyed eating at this restaurant. This is a nice vegetarian alternative to the usual regular restaurants that we go to. Even if you're not vegetarian, I think you should check this place out and try it for yourself!
I dont go vegetarian often, but this place is a must try. A must try for vegetarian lover! We only got a few items, but everything was delicious! The chicken nuggets were fantastic. I could munch on it all day lol Fresh steamed broccoli was good. I didn't think I would enjoy eating steamed brocs with just soy sauce. A little softer would be nice, but still good. The veg fish was an all time favorite. When I do happen to go to a vegetarian restaurant, I would order it (if available). We all loved the sauce in the fish. Even if you don't like the fish, mixing the sauce with rice would be good. Corn soup was a nice start. The corns could be a bit better, but would order it again. The almond pastry was yummy. We all liked the pastry on top more than the almond milk. It was a bit plain. Will definitely return when craving veg foods.
Great option for vegetarians! Surprised to find this restaurant so busy on a Saturday afternoon around 1:30pm. Noted that they had several large tables, more so than smaller tables. Ideal for bigger groups. There were only 3 of us but we ended up at a large table as that was the only table available. We got the crispy chicken with basil, fish with brown sauce and sizzling tofu. I enjoyed the tofu the best then the crispy chicken. The fish I think had five spice seasoning and seaweed (nori) to give it that fish flavor. I enjoyed the sauce on the fish but the flavor of the fish itself was just ok to me. The service was friendly and the food came out fast. Would go back again to try some of their other dishes.
I love vegetarian food so when my friend decided to go here for lunch, I was super happy. Vege Valley has a lunch special all week long. Vege Valley is located In a plaza on the second floor. There are tons of parking in their underground parking. We wanted to order everything but since it was just us two, we decided to get three dishes. Minced meat lettuce wrap - I love this dish. I love the crunch from the wonton skin. Orange chicken- this is mushroom batter with orange sauce and it's really good. Fish in brown sauce- I really love the fake fish with the brown sauce. There is a lot of green pepper in this dish. If you're not a fan of green peppers. Don't order this. Our dishes comes with a choice of brown rice, white rice, or for an extra charge, porridge. We decided to go with brown rice. The brown rice was cooked well. The service was good. They also offer a banquet-style menu too. Overall, a great place if you're cravings for vegetarian food.
My family and I had dinner here to celebrate the holiday season on Saturday, December 27th, 2025. It was recommended to us by my mother-in-law, who is a devout Buddhist and vegetarian. We ordered quite the variety of dishes for our party of 9. The quality of the food was really, really good. The dishes that were meant to mimic meat-centric dishes at traditional Chinese restaurants were pretty convincing. The flavors were very robust overall, my group generally enjoy the dinner. The service was also noticeably better than most Chinese restaurants in the area. We will definitely be coming back the next time we're out to eat vegetarian food in the San Gabriel Valley (SGV) area.
Every time I come back to the SGV, it seems like we lose more traditional, Chinese vegetarian restaurants. Vege Valley used to be run by a husband and wife duo, back when it was still in the 99 Ranch plaza. I think the quality of the food isn't as good since they moved to their new location and are under new ownership, but I'm glad a lot of the menu items are generally the same and there's a lot of nostalgia eating here still. We had the salt and pepper "chicken", salt and pepper fried oyster mushrooms, lion's head meatball, and stir-fried chayote leaves. The chayote leaves were pretty fresh and tender -- even with the stems -- and the fried chicken nuggets with thai basil were as good as always. Some of the oyster mushrooms were a bit too old, which you could tell by the slightly mushier edges in spite of the batter and seasoning. The lion's head meatball is a dish you almost never see in Chinese vegetarian restaurants anymore, let alone elsewhere. I especially like the places that make it with actual tofu vs. some soy protein isolate, and that's what Vege Valley uniquely offers. The taste of the meatballs were good, but man, they were so stingy on the bean thread noodles. As someone who mostly cooks at home (and makes this dish from scratch), I knew that they didn't put more than 1-2 batches of noodles in, which is *superbly* stingy when this dish is supposed to serve 4-5 people. This was a dish that cost $20. My mom asked them to add a couple more so there was enough noodle to share, and they said they would have to charge $4 per extra batch! A pack of 6 at 99 Ranch costs $3-4, so it was absolutely absurd and really reflected poorly on their service. Left a bad taste in my mouth honestly, but I'm still giving this place 4 stars because I want to support the remaining veggie restaurants left in the SGV and overall, the dishes are still tasty. They need to do better by their customers though if they want to keep ones like my parents, who've been eating at the various iterations of Vege Valley over the past 30 years.
Was looking for a new vegetarian spot and this place definitely hits! They serve classic Chinese dishes but made entirely with vegetarian ingredients -- and everything still tasted delicious. Prices are great, portions are generous, and there's plenty of room to dine in. Here's what I tried: Vege Seafood Soup with Egg - Good start! The flavors were solid, though I wish I had some red vinegar to add a bit more depth (I didn't ask if they had any). Still tasty. (4/5) Vege Pork in Sesame Pita Bread - The pita bread was incredible -- perfectly toasted and flavorful. The "pork" itself could've used a bit more seasoning, but overall still enjoyable. (3.5/5) Fried Rice with Herb Sauce - Didn't expect much from this one but it ended up being surprisingly great. Simple, flavorful, and a perfect rice dish to go with the meal. (5/5) Crispy Vege Chicken Nuggets with Basil - A MUST-TRY. Think popcorn chicken but lighter, crispier, and packed with flavor. Not greasy at all. Hands down the best dish. (5/5) Overall, this spot is a winner for vegetarian eats -- even if you're not vegetarian full-time. Definitely a new go-to for me, and I'll be back to try more dishes. Parking: Easy and convenient, with plenty of underground spots.
We ordered quite a lot again, as is the tradition with family dinners. The Vege House Chicken with Brown Sauce ($17.95) blew us away. The chewy, layered texture with the umami-sweet sauce was addictive. Other standouts: the Crispy Oyster Mushroom ($18.95) was true to its name and tasted like popcorn chicken, and the Pineapple Fried Rice ($14.95) balanced savory and sweet better than most I've had. The Fried Noodle was solid ($14.95) and the Veggie Seafood Soup with Egg ($12.95) was comforting to have on a windy day. The Dry Sautéed Green Beans ($15.95) were fine, but nothing special. The Black Truffle Fried Rice ($24.95) had a very strong truffle aroma, unexpected for a veggie place...not bad, just bold. The Veggie Kidney with Basil ($16.95) had an interesting texture that leaned too close to its namesake for comfort in my opinion. The Buddha's Feast ($15.95) had quite a lot of different veggies, but the yam had this odd aftertaste that I couldn't quite stomach. Service was quick and the space is cozy. We actually made some reservations since my family occupied 2 of the 3 large roundtables. I'd recommend it if you have a large party as well, since the restaurant is relatively compact.
Most of the items my husband and I ordered were very tasty. I understand now why some reviewers stated that their fried items tasted "clean" because they probably don't reuse their fry oil too many times. We love a good hot and sour soup and they make a good one there. Love their popular crispy oyster mushroom as well, but I should have known better than to order the vege fish with hot bean sauce since it was fried as well (that was not specify on their menu) because it was a bit overwhelming and underwhelming simulaneously. The stir-fry large pea sprouts were delicious and the service was friendly and attentive. We can't wait to come back and try other dishes on their menu.
Service and food were good! Waitresses were helpful in explaining what each dish came with if you weren't sure. Dishes surprisingly came out pretty quick until it starts getting packed. Like many others stated, the crispy oyster mushrooms were pretty good! They had a nice light crispy batter with an addicting texture! Some of the other fried dishes may not come with too much seasoning so I do recommend asking for some sweet chili dipping sauce! I also personally liked all the tofu dishes, like the braised tofu and kabocha (pumpkin) hot pot!
I was bummed that House of Fortune Vegan Cuisine in Rowland Heights had closed as that's been a top vegan Chinese cuisine restaurant for me. But, I discovered Vege Valley today and they have many of the similar/favorites that I used to eat at House of Fortune!!!! And, they have lunch specials (sorry, forgot to take a to go menu with me) 7-days a week! Check out my pics! Will definitely be back to try more dishes. read more

Love Vege Valley - the food is always delicious and perfect when in the mood for vegetarian food. Fast and attentive service that is not overbearing - really appreciate this when having conversation with guests. Ambiance is comfortable and can accommodate big or small parties. My favorite dishes are the crispy oyster mushroom and the braised eggplant and tofu. read more
This is a vegetarian restaurant and any dishes being mentioned is ALL in vegetarian form. Today is Thursday and we are there for lunch and they do provide lunch special and it is a really good deal. Lunch special provide pumpkin congee or white rice or brown rice pairing with a main course The fried oyster mushrooms is a must to order and I love their eggplant tofu pot The seafood roll is amazing and meatballs with glass noodles is delicious The service is really nice This is good place to dine in when you are looking for vegetarian food Parking is easy in the plaza The restaurant is located at the second level read more

Food was good and service is very efficient! The ladies are always attentive and they are so nice whenever you ask them to switch out plates, extra napkins and so forth. They are never hesitant with any asks. Will be back again; as usual! read more

This is one of my childhood favorite restaurants and the staff is always friendly. I absolutely love their gluten and pickled Napa dish. I crave it sometimes and their vege fish is also delicious. They have booth seats and a clean restroom. Honestly a must try!! read more

Food is vegetarian however they can make basically everything vegan which is what we did The lettuce wrap with the crunch of wonton crisp was delightful The mushrooms orange chicken was tastefully good The fried mushrooms and basil was a nice combo The corn soup yummy in my tummy The fish had a nice chew with veggies We got there first thing 1030 they were still kind of cleaning Once they got there mojo on they were very attentive and quick It was clean and ready to eat and it was quiet since we were first bit got packed within an hr of when we were ending our meal There is parking within parking and a downstairs garage read more

Im a meat eater, and I went to Vege Valley for a family member because theyre vegiterrean. Coming in as someone who eats meat every day, this place was okay. The pumpkin vermicelli noodles and the bean curd dish was okaya dn could have been seasoned more. I've made these dishes at home and they're simple dishes, it was not worth price. The veggie chicken nuggets was not very good. There was a weird taste after each piece, and this was probably because of the fake chicken. The fried oyster mushroom was DELICIOUS! Maybe this was a simple dish to make, but it was really good. The best dish we ordered. read more

Vege Valley is truly one of a kind. A fully vegetarian restaurant that somehow manages to satisfy even the biggest meat lovers, myself included. We have been coming here since it was Vege Paradise, and the quality and consistency of the food has never disappointed. I am usually a full meat eater, but when I want or need to eat vegetarian, this is always my go to spot. The flavors are bold, comforting, and incredibly well done. Nothing feels like a compromise here. Everything in the photo is vegetarian, which honestly still blows my mind. The steamed fish style dish has the right balance of savory and delicate flavors, the orange chicken is crispy and saucy in the best way, and the oyster mushrooms are perfectly cooked. The honey walnut shrimp is rich and satisfying, the kidney style dish has great texture, and the veggies are fresh and flavorful. The pumpkin porridge is warm, smooth, and comforting, a perfect way to round out the meal. If you are vegetarian, curious about vegetarian food, or even a dedicated meat eater like me, Vege Valley is absolutely worth a visit. Long time favorite, and I am so glad they are still around and doing it right. read more

Unfortunately here today for first time in a long while but sadly here celebrating the life of my late great stepmom as a tribute....Here at one of her favorite Vegan Chinese restaurants!!! Definitely not my favorite but was very nostalgic and sad but oddly happy good times!!! Food is always good!!! read more
We came here for a family luncheon, to accommodate vegetarians in the family. I remember this restaurant when it was located in the neighboring plaza at the corner of Valley and New, also on the second floor. Although it kept the same name but it is run by a new owner ccording to my sister. The new location is much smaller so the wait is longer and they won't seat the party until everyone arrived. The good news is all their dishes are delicious. The dessert sweet riceball soup was excellent. We ordered enough to feed an army so there were a lot to take back home. We had no problem to divide leftovers among families and all is well. The narrow space between tables and services are the reasons I couldn't give it 5 stars. Be prepared to wait if you come on weekend even you have reservation like we did. read more
So this was my first time going to that place my friend and her mom goes a lot there and it is a vegetarian restaurant and their dishes are pretty tasty We had the fish dish, which is of course not fish, but it was pretty good. We had a mushroom variety dish with basil and one more dish that also had mushroom in it. We had brown rice and porridge on the side. Starting the year on a healthy journey, we Yelped for suggestion of vegetarian restaurants. Vege Valley bubbled up to the top with some great reviews. Vege Valley is in SGV located in an older plaza on the second floor next to Focus Shopping Center. The traffic on Valley Blvd doesn't disappoint but the traffic on that strip makes me question returning back. The parking driveway and spaced are bit tight and but there are more spots on the underground. The restaurant is bright and furniture are modern. The tables set up alongside of the booths make the restaurant very cramped. Service is nice but at peak hours, the kitchen staff cannot keep up with the orders so will take some time for the food to be delivered. They offered daily lunch specials so ask for that during non-holidays. We tried Veggie Curry and Fried Basil Chicken Nuggets. --- The veggie curry (4/5) is good but seems more watery than normal. The vegetable ingredients added to the dish is generous. The curry taste is not as strong. Must be missing curry leaves or something. --- Fried Basil Chicken Nuggets (3/5) sounds good, but the dish didn't meet expectation - expressly dried and flavored was douse with white pepper. There was some regret not ordering my personal favorite - Bean Curd with Pork strip. read more

One of the best Chinese vegetarian places in terms of food quality and taste. This place looks old inside with sticky tables. But plus side is the A rating! So at least you know it's clean and followed safe food handling protocol. read more

The eggplant-basi-tofu stir fry with a caramel-y sauce and just the right kick with chilli was nothing short of brilliant Then the more puritanical chinese green mustard with tofu skin: as delicious and pure in taste as you can imagine -- no heavy hand with seasonings, yet perfectly executed with cooking technique The triumphant fake "chicken" kung pao, with the spicy crunchy peanuts and ....**crunchy stir fried cucumbers**. I have nothing but superlative drooling for the brilliant kitchen here. The ladies who are running the front of the house are pleasant and have worked here for a long time. A beautiful Chinese vegetarian culinary secret of the San Gabriel valley. Portion sizes are so generous you can have 2-3 meals later with the take-away boxes. Even the stir fried cucumbers were still delicious microwaved 2 days later....superlative execution by the chef here. Don't sleep on this place. My Mom, two of my youngest brothers and their spouses, and I along with my aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends were here at Vege Valley for a wonderful vegetarian lunch to celebrate the life of my 3rd aunt. This is my first time dining in at their new location. They used to be Vege Paradise located 2 blocks away at the San Gabriel Shopping Center. New location is a bit smaller so it was a little snugged at the corner tables, but nothing we couldn't adjust to. My 5th aunt ordered the family-style meal @ $268 that came with 11 veggie dishes plus a sweet black sesame dessert. Every veggie dish was yummy and delicious. Trust me... all plates were empty! And we were all full even from veggies. Staff was great. Service was good, but they were so busy that it got a little hectic. Ambiance was simple. I will definitely return here to try their other veggie dishes and get me some more black sesame balls. Thank you Vege Valley for sharing your healthy choices with us!!! My family came here before, and loved it so much they made us drive 1 hour 10 through LA traffic to come again. All vegetarian (some contain eggs, clearly marked), mostly vegan. First class food. The best was the Vege Fish with Pine Nuts; but even the Chopped Mustard with Tofu Skin was excellent. The other tables were all filled with Chinese people - it looks popular. My parents have been vegetarian for over 33 years. My mother is such a great cook. It's hard to find a place that she actually likes because she can be picky. My mom has been coming here for years because the food is so delicious! She brings all her friends here and everyone loves it. The service is already great. It's very clean inside. Went to Vege Valley about a month ago with my parents for the first time, and it was a great experience! My dad is vegetarian, so we came for lunch on a weekend after hearing good recs about this place. They brought us hot tea and we ordered vege chicken with orange sauce, vege sausage and tofu in hot pot, fried rice noodle with pumpkin, stir fried dragon whisker veggies, and vege pork in sesame pita bread. The food took a good 15+ min to come out, and the vege pork in sesame pita bread came out later because they needed time to make it. They forgot our dragon whisker veggies in the order I believe, so we had to ask them halfway through our meal and then they made and brought it. Everything was really delicious, but most dishes were pretty salty so you had to pair it with rice or veggies. It's a good place to eat family style and share multiple dishes. We had some leftovers that my parents took home. My favorite dish was the fried rice noodles with pumpkin, and my husband loved the vege sausage and tofu in hot pot. We will probably come back in the future for vegetarian eats if we are in the area with my family again! read more
