    Shan Noodle

Yoma Myanmar is a true gem. This cozy mom-and-pop spot has such a warm, homey feel, and the owners are incredibly sweet and welcoming--you can really feel the love they put into the place and the food. The Beef Curry is deeply savory and aromatic, with tender beef that's perfectly seasoned and comforting in all the right ways. The Shan Dry Noodle absolutely shines--think Dan Dan noodle vibes, but with its own distinct personality. It's nutty from the peanut and sesame, wonderfully flavorful yet clean, and the sauerkraut adds a bright tang that cuts through the richness of the stewed pork belly beautifully. Authentic, soulful, and made with heart. This is the kind of spot you're excited to come back to again and again. Highly recommend.

Yoma Myanmar is better than I remembered from my previous visit of almost a decade ago. My visit took place over the weekend and wowsers, I'm already looking forward to coming back next time I'm in the area. Our group of 3 ordered a tea leaf salad, chicken curry, chayote & eggs (veggie dish), and special shan noodles offered on weekends. Everything tasted as if someone's family member was cooking in the kitchen. All the dishes were flavorful and not greasy. We ate everything and left super stuffed. I was even full the next morning. Prices are reasonable, especially during these challenging economic times. Decor is still the same, inside and outside. Still a husband and wife duo. The sweet lady still chats it up with each table by asking how things went and if there are any questions. Dreaming about what entrees to try next... #16/2025

    Lunch special

Went on a weekend for lunch. It's a pretty small restaurant and it got really packed after we came in. Ordered the lunch special. It's $14.99 with 2 mains and salad or soup. Apparently on weekends it's an extra $2 tacked on. The server was very sweet but I do have to say was very disorganized. We did get our correct order though. I ordered chicken curry, beef curry and tea leaf salad. My favorite dishes that I got to try was the papaya salad and tea leaf salad. The flavors were delicious and veggies seemed fresh. The beef in the curry was a bit dry and overcooked, so I'd say I preferred the chicken over the beef. Overall, food was pretty good and they served complementary coconut jelly at the end too!

So happy to have found & tried this gem for the first time! It was the first time trying Burmese cuisine and I was so impressed. Apparently they've been around for decades & I can see why. This cozy mom & pop restaurant has a handful of tables & you're immediately treated like family. The owners are so sweet & friendly! We had a lot of questions about the menu & they were so happy to patiently explain everything! Parking: there's street parking available but there's also a small parking lot behind the restaurant Restroom: there's a single stall restroom available for customers Food: everything was so flavorful! Portions were generous & the prices were great! My favorite dish was the tea leaf salad. It was so fresh & had all the needed textures for someone like me who has texture sensitivity. Each bite was pleasantly crunchy & I can't wait to go back for some soon! Another notable mention (not pictured) is their Burmese tea! It's prepared hot & it's their version of milk tea. Highly recommend! Support your local businesses!

Be careful missing the sign, pirched behind a big ol' tree on Garvey! No frills and Great flavors for those seeking to explore Burmese food, and are looking outside the usual Chinese/Vietnamese places nearby. Ordered Mohinga, fish paste and tomato curry, and a side of tea lead salad. Service was awesome, as the owner took the time out of a slower Tuesday evening to educate us on the menu and gave us recommendations. She gave us mohinga (fish noodle soup) deconstructed so that we can share. The flavors of their tea leaf salad was on point and balances between sweet, savory, and sour with nice crunch. The fish paste and tomato curry was flavorful, and not for the faint of heart. If you like Vietnamese mam rouc or Filipino bagoong, then you'll be interested in this. Would recommend ample amount of rice as it's needed with the saltier curry. Ended the meal with a cooling jello dessert!

We really enjoyed the chicken and potato curry, shan noodles, and goat curry. The dishes were all flavorful and huge portions. We had plenty of left overs for another meal at home. The owners are very kind and generous. Highly recommended it!

I've seen this restaurant and have passed by for many years. I finally decided to stop in. Definitely mom and pop, and that's the best part. I'd never had Burmese food before, so I was plenty excited. It's similar to Cambodian, Thai, Malaysian. Strong spices and flavors. If you like Southeast Asian and South Asian foods, you'll definitely enjoy it. I got the rice as the owner recommended. Tasty and such a huge portion, I took half of it home to enjoy the next day. She was so busy and doing the work of several people. This family deserves support from the community.

Small mom and pop shop that literally looks like someone's living room/kitchen. There is no parking lot available so only street parking. We ordered Shan noodle recommended by the nice lady owner. I asked her to not add peanuts in there as the dish comes w peanuts but unfortunately they forgot. She was apologetic and so nice about it. Then we also go the beef curry and curry fish both had the same sauce which had a little bit of spice but not too overwhelming. Perfect! They were so nice and talked to almost every customer. The people next to us travelled 30 mins just to eat here! She even gave us complimentary coconut jelly dessert to end our meal.

The beef curry is really good. Highly recommend it with naan . Watercress ongchoy chinyayhin is very refreshing but a bit spicy. Fried tofu makes a good appetizer and soft tofu mix is really good

What a gem! This place has tasty food and the staff is friendly. I came with my wife with no expectations, and now we have a new local fave. We ordered the tea leaf salad and beef curry, both which were tasty and already filling. We almost forgot we ordered the Shan noodle with soft tofu weekend special. That is a unique dish with chickpea (not soybean) that turns into a tasty creamy dish. It was really good but we were full so we had to take it to go. If you're looking for a small business to support in the SGV, try this gem!

    31. Beef curry and 5. Fried Samusa. Delicious.
    Will S.

A mom and pop stop- a small restaurant with about 10 tables and I love the flavors here. The samusa is light, crisp with just the tempting flavors of pepper, turmeric, garlic and potato. I didn't think I would like it but I've ordered this about 6 times already. The salad with tea leaves, peanuts and tomatoes was very good, not the best I've had, still very good. The beef curry is subtle with flavors of coconut, anise, turmeric ..... it's so homey good you think a local mama or papa is cooking for you. And I don't eat a lot of beef. One of the few exceptions would be here. Service is not as brisk as one might expect as it's a husband and wife run family business --be prepared. It is a quiet resto for now and I expect it to be busier as people discover dishes here. I would come back again to Yoma when the cravings light up. End of Yelp.

Talk about a hidden gem behind the street light! I had the pleasure of dining here a few days ago right before they closed and it was phenomenal. The owners were sweet attentive, they checked up on us frequently as we were dining and made sure we were situated! The food was wonderful. The Garlic Chicken noodles were an easy choice from everyone's previous recommendations and they did not miss! The chicken was delicious, the noodles felt like they were blending well with the garlic and their tea was a perfect balance for the dish. Their samusas were fresh and incredibly delicious including their sauce that they provided! We also had the chance to try their coconut gelatin desert which I found to be a lovely end to the meal itself. I will definitely be coming back frequently to try other dishes on their menu and I'm especially interested in their curry!

    Dee H.

Wow! Blown away by this tiny family run business. The service is top notch imo. We ordered 5+ dishes and the dishes came out within 5-10 minutes of ordering. Loved exploring a lesser known Asian cuisine and supporting small business. The samosas weee crispy on the outside and seasoned perfectly and soft in the inside. What a great portion size for the order too! We also tried the coconut noodle and a noodle with tofu. The coconut noodle was too heavy for us but we loved the tofu noodle! Tea leaves are a must. The Asian woman running this restaurant is so sweet and will help answer your questions about her culture's cuisine. Plenty of food and very reasonably priced!

For those of you unfamiliar, a Dosirak is a traditional Korean packaged meal with rice, banchan, protein, and an egg, similar to a bento box with different compartments for various foods. We ordered the Angus Beef Galbi (Short Rib) Dosirak ($29.99), which included nine pieces of short ribs, white rice, salad, japchae, four sides, and one mandu. Our Dosirak included mac salad, kimchi, house salad, and japchae. While it's on the pricier side considering the portion size, the food is high-quality and delicious. I hesitated a bit at the price since my son chose it for his lunch, and it's a lot of money for a child's meal. I knew he wouldn't finish it or want everything, especially the spicy items. We all loved the galbi and would order it again, price aside. The Dosirak was packaged perfectly, and each compartment was delicious, complementing the galbi perfectly. But I can confidently say that after one meal here, I will be coming back~ Items ordered: 5/5 - Chicken Plate - Garlic Fries - Lamb Gyro Wrap - Baklava Everything here was freshly cooked and made to perfection. But my favorite dish was by far the chicken plate. Let me preface this first with a foodie confession. I'm usually not the biggest fan of chicken kebabs (I prefer beef). Most of the time I find them very dry and bland. However, after hearing from the owner's son that it is their best selling dish, I was convinced to try it. And it truly exceeded all my expectations! With each bite, the meat was packed with juicy, delicious flavor and just melted into my mouth. And with the combination of aromatic rice, grilled zucchini, and fresh hummus, my dad and I completely devoured our plate. Now it got me to thinking: what makes it so different from other places? Well, I actually learned that the owners import a special olive oil to infuse into all their meats, giving it a rich flavor without excess fat. Next time when I return, I'm definitely trying the beef kebab to compare! SERVICE: 5/5 Honestly some of the nicest, humblest, and friendly staff I've ever seen! They were able to answer my questions and offer suggestions, which I deeply appreciate as a foodie aiming to try the best of what each establishment offers. The location is quite convenient and inside Blossom Food Hall with other food vendors in vicinity. (I've actually came several times for ice cream and didn't realize how extensive it was). Seating is plentiful with bar seating and tables throughout the food court. Of note, because it's located on Mission Drive, parking may be limited during certain hours but there's a parking lot in the back. I didn't have an issue finding parking although I can see it easily getting packed on busier events.
