Just felt like Taiwanese breakfast this morning. After seeing the menu I think it's Chinese. There's street parking in the front, if you come early or on a slow day you can park at the front door. There's also parking in the back (I saw another customer walk in from the back) My order: 38 juicy pan fried pork bun 27 taiwanese salty rice roll 30 green onion pan cake. The pork buns were pretty solid, I prefer less outside breading, the over all taste is very good. The Taiwanese rice roll has a real thick layer of rice around it (too much for me) I think it could have used a little more pickled veggies and more of the Chinese donut inside. The green onion pan cake was really good nice and crispy. I took a bite before my pictures (had to shuffle the bit one to the back for the photo) I think they are more of a brunch place then breakfast, I walked in around 945 and it wasn't til after I placed my order did the restaurant started to fill up.

We stumbled upon this restaurant by parking right in front of it. There are pictures of some of their dishes on the window, and some items I've never tried before. That made me decide to come here after running errands nearby. Early afternoon, around 1:30 it wasn't busy, but had a steady flow of solo diners and small parties. Apparently they're busy during the mornings, as a big portion of the menu are breakfast items. I heard the lady tell another table several things were sold out. Food: Beijing zha jiang mein. Good chew on the noodles, with the savory bean paste some fresh veggies. Not bad, and better with their hot chili oil. 3.5/5 Layered pancake with beef, came out hot and crispy. The pancake was crisp and a bit oily. Not much depth of flavor from the beef but also not bad. 3/5 Biscuit with tenderloin, with cumin chicken. Very tender chicken with nice cumin flavor. The biscuit was soft and fluffy. I just wish it was a flaky shell instead, that would've given it better texture. 4/5 Crispy pancake. It's like an egg pancake with a sweet sauce and flaky fried layers of dough. I ate the fried crispy dough by itself and it wasn't good. Tasted like very old oil, so we ended up taking it all out and ate the rest. 2.5/5. The service by the lady with glasses was very pleasant and attentive. The ambiance was fine. Not modern nor dated. We went there after their morning rush so several things we wanted were sold out. The items we did try were fairly decent based on our palate. But they seem to have regular customers that know what they want when they walk in. It's a 3.5 for my experience, but can't really round up to 4. Side note: Their name in Chinese is pretty catchy, and it's a clever play on words

Came in to order for breakfast to-go. They spoke Mandarin but I was able to communicate in broken Mandarin and pointing to the numbers on the English menu. Ordered #25 Taiwanese purple rice roll, #4 Youtiao (deep fried dough stick), #38 Juicy pan fried pork buns, and #7 Ice soy milk with sugar added. Everything was fresh and delicious and my order was enough to share between 2-3 people. They finished preparing my order in about 15 minutes. Restaurant was clean and had indoor seating good for small to larger parties of 6-8 people. Friendly staff. Free street parking right in front of the restaurant if you can find a spot. Highly recommend.

Got in around 11 am on a Saturday and there was still plenty of seating. Felt like a mom and pop shop no music in the background. The server was friendly and got our order in shortly and food came out pretty quickly. Beef roll was solid nice and flaky on the outside not overly oily which was nice . The purple rice I really enjoyed I'm used to the dry white rice but the purple rice was soft and perfect with the dry pork sung and friend Chinese donut in the centers. If in the area I probably come back and try out some other dishes

This is my first time checking out this place in Monterey Park to get breakfast to go. I ordered leek & egg pockets (4 pcs) for $9.49. Chinese leek & egg pockets (or called chives pockets) are pan-fried, semi-circle-shaped, flat dumplings filled with Chinese leek (chives) and scrambled eggs. The portions were reasonable and they had enough leek but the outer layer was not crispy and a bit hard to chew. The service was fast because I ordered by phone so my order was ready for pick up when I got there. The ambiance inside was modern and welcoming. I will give them a second chance and dine in there someday.

Wanted a quick breakfast before our flight and everything in the area didn't open until 11 AM until we found this spot! We ordered a Beijing style soybean paste noodles, purple rice rolls, beef rolls, and pan fried dumplings. I had the noodles and a rice roll and I thought the noodles were delicious. The noodle texture was very Q, however, the paste to noodle ratio was a bit off so it was difficult to mix. The purple rice roll was a great snack, and it had my favorite you tiao (chinese doughnut) and suan cai (pickled mustard greens) inside. A delicious start to the day!

    Leak pancakes 4 pieces

Cumin Lamb Chow Mein (little Spicy for Americans), but delicious. the pork coin pot stickers ( if no coins will have better taste). The deep fried dough sticker burned, not tasty. The leek egg pockets are taste good even though I donot like the noodles inside. Overall their food have good flavor

    Cold soy milk
    Grace C.

Loved their shrimp chow mien. The noodles are handmade and their cold soy milk is freshly made and not that sweet. Egg pancake was decent, the best that I have tasted so far. Xiao long bao was ok, had better elsewhere. Only negative thing I have to say is the dining atmosphere. I'm not sure what system they have for placing customers orders but you can hear the workers at the front yelling to the kitchen in mandarin what orders are being placed and if it was dine in or to go order. It was a constant repeating pattern and you can also hear the workers in the kitchen yelling at each other too. Kitchen lacked structure and organization. Wasn't a pleasant dine in experience and there was no music. Just awkward silence and multiple customers looking towards the kitchen listening to the ruckus. I would still come back but I would get to go. Their parking lot is also very small. Only fits a few cars or you have to find street parking.

Clean Taiwanese breakfast restaurant. Card payments are accepted. Food was good, but their soya milk tasted burnt.

Little Kanupe and I started the morning absolutely hangry (one of my baby soldiers) after striking out at another place (we'll leave them unnamed to protect the innocent). One quick Yelp audible later and we landed at HK Dim Sum. Best comeback since B-Rabbit dropped the mic. The first thing you'll notice is the size of the hand cared for master pieces. Run here for a quick FIFA break, but dont think you're ordering "a little something." Every bite delivers. The chow mein was memorable, so memorable with that wok hay kiss on every noodle just right. Smoky, savory, and ridiculously addictive. Every dish hit with that same "one more bite" energy, and somehow everything showed up almost before we finished ordering. No carts, no gimmicks, no unnecessary fanfare, just legit dim sum crazy great flavor. HK Dim Sum earned a rock-solid five stars. The total bill came to about $90.00. Figuring everything out it is a ok deal. The cost of tea and table setting was over $5.00 per person. It is high, but their dim sums are cheap. $9.99 for the Peking Duck included an at the table craving of the Duck. Not that many places do this. In fact, I know of no other place does this. The Peking Duck is Cantonese style. The difference is in the wrapping. In tradition Beijing Peking Duck the wrapping is a tortilla like thin piece of flour based wrapping. In Cantonese Peking Duck the wrapping is a half size bun folded to place the duck and vegetables and hoisan sauce inside. I had my standard favorite dishes--Salty Fish Chicken Fried Rice, Black Bean Bell Pepper Rice Noodles and Stir Fried Green Beans. My nephew ordered his two favorite dim sum plate, Daikon cakes and Ox Offals. My Third Aunt is ok with anything as long as it is not spicy hot. The foods were cooked to good quality and taste. Very disappointing experience after coming here for years…read more We've been coming here for years, which is why it was especially disappointing to see such a decline in both the food quality and the service. The food simply did not taste the way it has in the past. The quality and flavor were noticeably different, and unfortunately, it wasn't the experience we've come to expect from this restaurant. The service was even more disappointing. My mother-in-law has an accent and asked for a fork approximately four times. One of the servers literally shook her head "no" at her rather than simply helping her or explaining. That was incredibly disrespectful and uncomfortable to witness. There were also several interactions that left us feeling uncomfortable. One server came to our table speaking Spanish and making jokes, which felt inappropriate and made us wonder whether our diverse table was being treated differently. The busser also placed our drinks inside the lazy Susan while refilling our water, even though the drinks had already been used. He then had to reach in and move the glasses around so we could get our own drinks back. It was just another example of how inattentive the service was. The dim sum service was also disappointing. Servers repeatedly came around with the same few options, and we only saw a variety of dumplings/dim sum at the very beginning. When we asked about the flavors on the custard cart, the server would only tell us "mango" and seemed annoyed that we continued asking about the other flavors instead of simply explaining the options. Getting our bill was another ordeal. We asked several times, and when someone finally brought it, we literally had to call after the server and tell him not to leave the room and to please bring us the bill. Then came the most disappointing part. Our bill was around $300, and I left a $15 tip. I have personally worked in food service for many years, so I understand how important tipping is and I don't take it lightly. However, based on the quality of the food and the level of service we received, I felt that $15 was already generous. The waiter actually went to the manager and complained that the tip was too low. When I explained my reasoning, I was told that the tip should have been 18%. I offered to increase it to $20, but I firmly explained that I did not feel the service warranted an 18% tip. A tip is earned through good service; it should not be treated as an automatic entitlement or something a customer is expected to pay regardless of the experience. After being loyal customers for years, this experience was extremely disappointing. Between the decline in food quality, the inattentive and at times disrespectful service, and then being confronted about the amount of our tip, we will unfortunately not be returning. For a nearly $300 meal, we expected significantly better food, hospitality, and professionalism.

Everything, and I mean everything, was so delicious. One of the best dim sum places I've been to. The pricing of the items ranged from $8-$10 per item we ordered which is expensive but as a treat every once in a while and for the amount of time and effort that goes into making dim sum, it was worth it. I've tried making dim sum at home and it is so hard! Pricing breakdown: $8 items: - har gow (4 pcs) - siu mai (4 pcs) - black bean spare rib - pan fried turnip cake - egg custard $9 items: - chicken feet $10 items: - shrimp rice noodle roll I think they no longer have the tripe on their menu anymore bc I couldn't find it on their online ordering. We did wait about an hour, but honestly I didn't mind at all because it gave us a chance to relax, talk, and catch up as a family. Once we were seated, my parents were immediately impressed with the decor: elegant and cultural without feeling overly modern or cold. And can we talk about the tea kettles? They looked like literal pieces of art being poured at the table. Ordering was super easy with the QR code system, so my husband handled the whole spread: shumai dumplings, chicken feet, sesame balls, and more. Everything came out hot, fresh, and beautifully plated. The ENTIRE table agreed on one thing: the chili oil condiment deserves to be sold in bottles to take home. It was that good. Smoky, just the right amount of spicy, and addictive. Now for the real test: my in-laws. They've been to *many* dim sum places and are not easily impressed. They declared this place to have the best chicken feet that they've ever had: meat easily sucked off the bone, melt-in-your-mouth tender, and perfectly seasoned. High praise coming from dim sum veterans. Most importantly, my parents' first dim sum experience couldn't have been better. They loved everything from the ambiance to the food to the overall experience. My husband and I want to come back to explore more of the menu because there's clearly so much more to try

The good part about the beef noodle soup was the beef chunks weren't too dry nor fatty. The noodles, however, didn't taste like the fresh hand pulled kind you'd find at other restaurants but rather the dried ones you can get at a supermarket (they tasted like the Quon Yick dry noodle). The broth isn't necessarily bland but I think it could have used more flavor. The soup dumplings had a generous filling, but there really weren't much flavors coming from the seasoning. It just tasted like pork and soup. The skin is a bit thicker than what I've seen at other places, but at least they didn't break. I wasn't a fan of the fried buns though. They were fried too crispy to a point that the skin was dry and crunchy and all the fluffiness was lost. Same with the soup dumplings, the filling could have used more flavor. The ones at Kang Kang Food Court would be the clear winner here. For the price, the portions are pretty fair. The menu is very limited, but it's very carb-focused, so it's not a great place if you're looking for alot of protein options. They don't really offer much in the vegetarian department.
