House Special Fried Rice + Dan Dan Noodles + Cucumber Refresh Salad + Dry-Fried Green Beans W/ Minced Beef + Beef Rolls

For a restaurant that is still in their soft opening, I have high hopes for the future of Yum Long! My friends and I got there on a Sunday afternoon and only waited 25 minutes. They definitely have had longer lines, so this was a relief. After the afternoon wave, I saw that the wait could get as long as 45 minutes. Fortunately, they are located in a plaza where there are other dessert and drink options while waiting. For foods, we tried everything that our server Dominique recommended. She was warm, welcoming, and went above and beyond for us. Our water pitcher was always full and plates were cleared in a timely manner. We had the xiao long bao (pork) the green beans, cucumber salad, dan dan noodles, beef rolls, beef braised noodle soup, and the house special fried rice. The beef braised noodle soup was the winner for us. I could order just their soup and I would have been happy. I didn't taste too much oiliness in their soup! I wish the cucumbers were cut a tad bit smaller to make it easier to eat. The beef wrappers on the rolls were falling apart slightly so that could be improved but the flavors were all there. I highly recommend opting in for their dessert sampler that lets you try their signature xiao long bao flavors: matcha, taro, chocolate with banana, cheese (yes, cheese), and two of their chocolate with strawberry. The dessert sampler is a great way to see which flavors you would like more of in the future. I prefer a If Din Tai Fung is too out of the way, Yum Long is an impressive alternative that is sure to impress.

Pan-fried pork buns. Not juicy and slightly burnt underneath.

Yeah... the food is not very good here. We tried all the usual items: XLB, pan-fried pork buns, scallion oil noodles, beef roll, pork chop fried rice, cucumber salad, garlic string beans, and beef noodle soup. The XLB wrapper is too thick and overcooked. The pork buns are not juicy and were slightly burnt underneath. The pork chop and the fried rice were both very dry. The beef noodle soup was the most disappointing; the noodles were too soft and the broth bland. In conclusion, we have another DTF copy that is closer to Paradise Dynasty, both of which I do not like very much.

Located in Atlantic Time Square. It took over the business that used to be hot pot joint. We were seated immediately on a Thursday night. It wasn't too busy but there were some occupied tables. Decor is very modern. Clean and sleek! Waiters and waitress were pretty attentive since the restaurant is also not that big. It was our first time so I appreciate that the waitress recommended us some dishes to try. We eventually got the spare ribs, Shanghai rice cakes, pork xiao long bao, and Dan Dan mian. Everything came out fairly quickly! The Dan Dan mian came first which this one was pretty good! It's a bit salty, but it did taste heavy on the Hoi sin. The xiao long bao was pretty good as it was full of juice! It's also technically cheaper than many places I've seen, so I would say this one was well worth it. The spare ribs were also pretty salty, very dark in flavor. The Shanghai rice cakes was kinda bland, but also a little salty. Everything still tasted pretty good though! Overall, I would say a lot of the dishes were quite salty. All were pretty good, but kinda salty. I liked the Dan Dan noodles or xlb the best and the Shanghai rice cake the least.

I tried the signature XLBs, Dan Dan noodles, and the dessert sampler. The XLBs were quite good--the skins were definitely on the thinner side. While they aren't the thinnest I've ever had, they are a solid execution and I'd definitely order them again. The Dan Dan Mian was also tasty, and the service was attentive throughout the meal. I also tried the dessert sampler to see what the hype was about. While dessert dumplings aren't personally my thing, my nephews absolutely love them. If I had to pick a favorite, the matcha was the standout, but otherwise, I'd probably stick to the savory menu next time. Overall, a very welcome addition to the area!

Found a new dumpling place to try out and it's convenient as I'm only minutes away from this place! This place was a bit hidden to find since the unit building numbers are kind of disbursed randomly but it's to the right of AMC theaters! Food - settled for Pork XLB, Cucumber Refresh Salad, Dry Fried Green Beans with Minced Beef and Braised Beef Noodle Soup. They were all delicious and were given great portion sizes for the cost. Service - Andrew was our server and took great care of us. He suggested the popular items and some items that were his favorite which is great since the menu is overwhelming as it is lol. He checked up on throughout the meal and didn't make us feel rushed. Ambiance - The interior and seating was very nice inside. Personally I feel like this place has potential to grow. Huge shout out to Andrew especially!

Soft opening. Delicious food! And wonderful service. Nice clean ambience and decor. The Dry Pot Cauliflower was really really good. So tasty and properly spicy. The Shrimp and Sweet Corn Dumpling was nice bite-sized and very tasty. The Dan Dan Noodles were super nice texture. And they gifted us a classic pork Xiao Long Bao for free - and it was delicious. Nice skin texture and soup was tasty. Highly recommended. Go support!

A recent find in the SGV that just opened around 2 weeks ago. First step in and loved the interior. It's really clean and well decorated. The staff was super kind and welcoming which made our first visit there very memorable. The food itself was amazing. I really liked their signature pork xiao long bao!! My only note is that I wish the cucumbers were cut a bit smaller (they're pretty thick to eat in one bite) but that's also mainly a personal preference. Despite that, I would definitely come back!

XLB spots have been popping up left and right recently! Came here for dinner over the weekend and ordered the cucumber salad, XLB, and dandan noodles for a light dinner. The cucumbers had a thick cut and a nice crunch. The dandan noodles were yummy and had the perfect meat to noodle ratio. I loved the XLB! The soup was tasted so clean, clear, yet flavorful that I didn't even mind that the skin was a little thicker compared to other restaurants. I like that the food wasn't overly greasy. Decor was simple and modern. Service was great too. Would love to try their beef noodle soup and dessert dumplings one day. Newest addition to my rotation of food spots to frequent!

Food was great and authentic and there wasn't that much wait. The Fried Pork chop rice was my favorite dish. We also ordered the Dan Dan noodles, Cucumber salad, XLB and Spicy Wontons. All the food came out really quickly and the service was super friendly. I would definitely come back.

Stopped in this afternoon for a late lunch with my mother (who can be super particular about what she likes). Got their cucumber dish, xiao long bao (the pork and the pork with shrimp), their house special fried rice and green beans, and it was really delicious. The cucumber was so fresh and the service was friendly and welcoming! Thank you! Will be back again soon!

My family and I are constantly on the search for the best beef noodle soup, best xiao long bao, best of each dish. I ordered the pork Xiao long bao, beef noodle soup, Dan Dan noodles, beef and chives pan fried dumplings, dry pot cauliflower, cucumber salad, chives pancake, and chocolate banana Xiao long bao. Overall I do think the beef noodle soup, dry pot cauliflower, and Dan Dan noodles, were a tad bit sweeter. The XLB id say is more focused on a cleaner taste palette which is quite unique but a bit different from what some people may be used to. The skin is a bit thicker but is still chewy and not tough. The noodles are quite QQ (chewy) which is great. My favorites were the Dan Dan noodles and the chocolate banana XLB. Some places make the same dessert xiaolongbao but I have to say theirs are pretty decent. The chocolate is more like Nutella and it tastes smooth. Ambience wise is great, it's in a great location and the setup is actually stunning. I'd come back just for the setting. My only reason for taking away a star is that the flavors for some of the food is just a tad sweeter. But past that, I'd be coming back. Can't wait to try more things next time.

Wow, this place is SO good! We were really impressed. We tried the Dan Dan noodles, wagyu beef xlb, beef and chive pan fried dumpling, orange chicken, and sweet and sour pork rib+banana chocolate xlb for dessert. Everything was outstanding. I really love the texture of all of the dumplings, so soft and pillowy. The beef xlb was hearty and delicious. The orange chicken was very sweet(how I like it lol) and had a nice crisp. The ribs were sweet and sticky, yummy. The Dan Dan noodles had a really nice texture like the noodles seemed fresh. And my favorites were the pan fried dumplings and chocolate banana xlb. The pan fried dumplings were perfectly crispy on one side and perfectly soft and pillowy on the other, and had delicious flavor. The chocolate was more like nutella(LOVE) but melt-in-your-mouth delicious. And everything we ordered only came out to $87 for so much food! Really reasonable compared to dtf. They also have an extensive menu so really can't wait to come back and try more items from their menu because everything on the tables around us looked so good!!

It never looked super busy, so I kept putting it off. Big mistake--don't let that happen to you like it did to me! We finally went in and ordered a bunch: the Spicy Beef Shank Rice Noodle, Rattan Pepper Sliced Beef Rice Noodle, Popcorn Chicken, Sesame Balls, Popping Brown Sugar Rice Cake, Fried Milk Rolls, and Fried Taro Balls. Everything was outstanding. The noodles were amazing--fresh, chewy, with high-quality ingredients you can really taste in every bite. The broths had that perfect spicy kick without being overwhelming, and the beef was super tender. My wife and I couldn't stop eating; literally everything we tried was delicious. She especially loved the Fried Taro Balls--they were crispy outside, soft and flavorful inside. The sides/snacks were all hits too: the Popcorn Chicken was perfectly seasoned and crispy, the Sesame Balls and Popping Brown Sugar Rice Cake brought great texture and sweetness, and the Fried Milk Rolls were a fun surprise. Service was top-notch--shoutout to Icey, who took such great care of us. One of the best and most attentive experiences we've had in a while. If you're in Alhambra and love good food, do yourself a favor and stop in. You won't go wrong here--highly recommend! 5 stars all the way.

They buy the $2.99 kinds from an Asian supermarket, slap some cooking oil and soy sauce onto the wok and call it a day. There's not even a corn starch slurry to thicken the sauce! It's like they either don't know how to cook good food or they think you the consumer can't disconcern what good food is. When you come in, there is a sign that tells you to order before being seated. My sister and her bf had yet to arrive so I placed a sizeable order for the 4 of us. Luckily, they were there (waiting in the car) so I told them to walk over so we can be seated. I ordered 2 orders of chiayi chicken (1with white rice and 1 with brown rice), 2 orders of thousand layer pancake (1 with egg and 1 with egg and cheese), shrimp wonton, dance dan noodles, wonton noodle soup, hakka mochi and forbidden rice pudding. For drinks we had a few of the shaken iced green teas and 1 taro milk tea (my sister said it didnt taste like taro) Everything was great. I was surprised my sister's bf liked the food. The chiayi chicken was good with a bit of the chili sauce (sambal). The thousand layer pancake was good if you dip it in the black vinegar (mixed with chili oil and a little soy sauce). The shrimp wonton were surprisingly light and tasty. The dan dan noodles was balanced my medium thin sliced cucumber. Everything was portioned very small so you can try everything.we didnt get additional sides because were getting full. The desserts was what I was looking forward to and it did not disappoint. The hakka mochi reminded me of the soy pudding stalls in singapore that had mochi balls filled with a black sesame paste and peanut paste inside. This is what the hakka mochi was but in dry soft chewy form with black sesame and peanut grains to top it off. For my sister, it reminded her of the filipino dessert pichi pichi. The forbidden rice pudding reminded me of a soupy version of the filipino dessert biko. It had chunks of sweet potatoes and tapioca. Also very good but my bias is the hakka mochi. The ambiance was bright, bustling and inviting. Very small tables perfect for a quick bite. Highly recommend if you want a tapas style lunch that doesn't break the bank.

The Dan Dan noodles were pretty classic and straightforward. I've definitely had better versions elsewhere, but it still hit the spot if you're craving something familiar. The minced pork rice, however, reminded me so much of my mom's braised pork and egg dish. It had that comforting home-cooked feel to it, though I did think it was missing a little something at first. Once I added soy sauce, black vinegar, and chili paste, it completely transformed the dish and gave it the perfect oomph. Same situation with the shrimp wontons -- the custom sauce combo really elevated the flavors. Now onto the clamshell buns: this was the star of the meal. We each picked different proteins so we could try both. I got the pork belly while my friend got the five spice beef, and we both agreed the pork belly was by far the more flavorful option. Super tender, savory, and balanced perfectly with the soft bun. For dessert, I got the forbidden rice pudding with coconut milk and sweet potato/taro balls. I appreciated that it wasn't overly sweet, and I loved the chewiness from the taro balls paired with the purple rice. Service was smooth and efficient from ordering at the front to food arriving at our table. I also liked how attentive the staff was with dessert timing -- they give you a card to attach to your table sign when you're ready for dessert instead of bringing everything out at once. Small detail, but thoughtful. The restaurant itself also had a charming aesthetic with traditional Chinese accents and cute up-cycled Asian jelly cans being used as utensil and napkin holders. Overall, portions were generous enough that we had leftovers, and the pricing felt fair for the amount and quality of food. I already want to come back to try more items like the thousand layer pancake and the Chiayi chicken rice next time.
