My wife and I found this gem of a place for lunch and we were very surprised with the quality. We arrived shortly after their opening hours and there were already plenty of diners inside. Service is quick, and staff is friendly as well. We ordered their Pad Thai, Wonton Soup, and their Cream Cheese Rangoons to share. All 3 dishes came out at the same time, and wow the portions are pretty standard and fulfilling. Cream Cheese Rangoons are not something I try often but I was very impressed with the quality and size. Each bite was super crunchy and super flavorful with the cream cheese adding the softness, very impressed. Highly recommend, 9/10. The wonton soup (BBQ pork) was impressive. Although not like the standard ones, the portions are still pretty good. I was impressed with the flavoring as well. The broth wasn't too salty and the wontons were delicious. Highly recommend, 8.5/10. Star of the show is definitely the Pad Thai. A classic dish at any Thai establishment and this place is no different. We were very impressed with the portions and the mix of egg noodles along with the other ingredients. Very flavorful and definitely a signature of the restaurant. Must order menu item, 10/10. Overall, a wonderful restaurant with friendly and efficient staff. Interior is clean, spacious, and has plenty of tables. Absolutely delicious if you're not able to make the drive to Thai Town in Hollywood. The soul boat noodle is a little Americanized. I would've loved having the option to include liver in the soup. The calamari rings were pretty good. They were crunchy and chewy with a sweet chilli dipping sauce. The crispy pork dish was delicious but a little skimpy on the portion of pork belly. Overall this is our go to spot in the 626 area. There's plenty of parking. Friendly staff, well kept and clean. Definitely recommend giving it a try! Came here at 8 PM on a Sunday evening and the restaurant was still decently full. Thankfully we were still able to be seated right away and place our order. We ordered the pad Thai with shrimp, half and half chicken (half fried, half steamed), pork jerky, and strawberry lychee green tea, all of which were marked as customer favorites on their menu. The service was prompt and attentive, but I was a bit disappointed in the food and drink. The pad Thai had a deeper flavor than I'm used to, likely more tamarind paste, which my boyfriend shared is more characteristic of northern Thai pad Thai. I think because of the sauce composition, I found the noodles to stick together a bit more as well. The shrimp was cooked well - it just overall wasn't my preference in terms of flavor. The pork jerky was okay - I appreciate that they gave large pieces of meat, but I wish the meat were a bit more tender. We had seen good reviews for half and half chicken, but I don't think I'd order again. I think I was expecting something similar to Hainan chicken and rice, where the meat and rice both have some flavor, but are enhanced by the sauces. I found the chicken and rice here to be a bit bland and needing to rely quite heavily on the sauces. The strawberry lychee green tea was super sweet. For context, I typically order anywhere from 75-100% sweetness at most boba shops, but I still found this drink to be a bit sweet. We stirred the drink and waited to allow the ice to dilute it. I was craving Thai food and decided to give Bangkok Soul a try. We ordered the Boat Noodle, Pad Kee Mao, Crispy Miss Thainanese Chicken Rice, and Bangkok BBQ Rice. Overall, everything was delicious and flavorful! The Boat Noodle was a little too sweet for my taste, and even though I ordered it spicy, I could barely taste any heat. The Pad Kee Mao, on the other hand, had just the right amount of spiciness and was definitely a highlight for me. My sons loved both rice dishes. Drinks menu is full of variety: I ordered a strawberry lychee soda that definitely highlighted the fruits. Next time I want to try their green Thai tea! Enjoyed a casual weekend lunch here with my husband. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and shown to our table. This restaurant has a more modern and contemporary atmosphere compared to a traditional Thai restaurant. I like how spacious and inviting the place felt. To start, we shared the Cream Cheese Rangoon appetizer. These are crunchy, creamy bites of imitation crab and cream cheese wrapped in wonton skin, served with a side of sweet chili dip. The tangy cream cheese tasted great combined with the crispy wonton skin. This is a great sharing dish. We also shared an order of the Wonton Soup BBQ Pork, a Cantonese-inspired soup dish with Thai touches. The portion for this seemed a bit small, with only 3 wontons total. It has a light chicken broth with hand-folded shrimp and chicken wontons, BBQ pork, napa cabbage, bokchoy, scallions, and fried garlic. Taste-wise, it was good. This is a solid choice if you want something light and aromatic. The star of our meal was definitely the Pad Thai. There are several protein options, including tofu, chicken, pork, and more. We decided to go with the pork. This dish is stir-fried rice noodles with egg, tofu, fresh bean sprouts, green onion, and crushed peanuts. It had the perfect balance of sweet, tangy, savory, and nutty flavors. The noodles were cooked perfectly and tasted super flavorful. I will definitely be coming back here whenever I am craving some yummy Thai food. The parking lot is shared with some other businesses and it seems that there are plenty of parking spots during most of the day. Came here with a group of friends. This restaurant is located in a big plaza that has a lot of parking. This place is not noise at all that we are able to chat. We were seated promptly. Our server was friendly and attentive. We ordered chicken wings, tom yum soup with shrimp, pad Thai, pad see ew, some rice dishes, and mango sticky rice. I love the pad Thai and pad see ew, they are very flavorful, and not too oily! I have not had good Thai food in the 626 area for a long time! I did not try their rice dishes. Glad the staff asked if we wanted it as a lunch combo, worth! Crispy Fried Chicken (lunch special)- we chose green salad which is pretty standard with sesame dressing, there was a hint of ginger which I personally loved. The chicken was definitely crispy, juicy and flavorful; batter was light and airy. The rice was seasoned well and a good texture. Would come back for this dish again. Went on a Friday evening around 6/6:30, waited probably 15 mins maybe a little longer to get seated. The place was packed and there were 3 parties ahead of us. Didn't feel too long bc the menus are on the door so it gave us time to figure out what we wanted. The selection is fantastic, there is a ton to choose from. The area was very clean despite being packed with people. The restrooms were also clean and well kept. Now the food - the food was DELICIOUS. I have tried a handful of the thai places and honestly I haven't had as great of an all around experience as we did here. The tofu was perfectly soft and crispy, the pad thai was a good balance sweet and savory. The plate was also huge!! I have so much leftovers. We split the green beans which was a nice portion for the 3 of us, and beware there is a good kick to the spicy ones! My friends got the chili basal and rad nah which they mentioned it was also very tasty. We all agreed we definitely need to return to try another dish as well! I also want to that our server was really great at recommending menu options. We also had a fish allergy in our group which they were accommodating with removing the fish sauce. They also accidentally made the green beans with the sauce as well but she came running out (literally) when she realized it was made with that (probably barely 30 seconds time had lapsed). Another nearby thai place was not like that and much less helpful about the allergy in our group. So overall we were very happy at the service, food, and experience. It's a nice size, and we've had success calling ahead for reservations for family meals. The deep fried fish with bone on the side is so crispy and soft, the dipping sauce is little bit spicy but really good! We wanted to get some Thai food and saw that this place has good reviews. We ordered the Pad Thai ($16) and Pad See You ($16). They definitely give you a lot of food. We had enough left over to make a second meal for both of us the next day. I really liked both plates. I usually go for pad see ew when I go to Thai places but the pad thai here is also really good! I was looking around and a lot of people also got the chicken satay and papaya salad, so maybe I'll try those out next time too. I would say that the appetizers seem a bit pricey considering they're about the same price as the main dishes, which kind of defeats the purpose of being an appetizer. A lot of items looked good on the menu though and I wish I could try them all. I do see that they also have a lunch menu on the weekdays, so hopefully if I make it in time I'll be able to try some more items from their menu through that. read more

I Just found my new go to Thai spot and I'm kind of obsessed. It's a pretty big space right across from Kopan, but still feels warm and welcoming. We ordered a bunch to share such as the chicken curry, drunken noodles with beef, pad Thai with shrimp, and the crispy garlic wings (so good). And the strawberry lychee soda? Super refreshing and honestly a must. The vibe is cute and modern, service was attentive, and everything is reasonably priced. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to. I like how tbe lunch special comes with a drink and a side. The soul boat noodle was on the sweeter side and the meat kinda tasted like beef jerky. Couldve been boiling for too long. But its okay. I liked the meat or fish balls that it came with though. It was soft and went well with the sweet broth. For to go orders, there is a divider so that the noodles wont get soggy from the soup, which is always nice for noodle soups. Their thai tea was 80% milk so i felt like i was drinking iced milk. I got the curry croquette and its pretty good. Small but it might be because it was part of the lunch special. They also almost forgot my drink until i opened the bag and it was missing. The front desk is run profoundly well, with a nice smile, question on what utensils are needed and whether we wanted to try Thai hot sauce. Although I had a takeout order, I noticed that the restaurant was packed; a good sign this restaurant is already popular with the local community and word has gotten out that the food is great. Rib eye and the sauce was tangy, savory, and sour. The pad Thai was perfect for my girl - very sweet. The half leg house special was the star of the show. Great mix of fatty pork and lean meat, along with really amazing bitter greens and natural juices. The sauce that came with it was incredible. Papaya salad was sweet and had a generous amount of peanuts. The pork jerky wasn't tough or chewy at all. It melted in your mouth. The crab rangoon were decent and the salt and pepper shrimp were REALLY good. Loved the sauce on the outside so much that I may have accidentally eaten a few shells! Service was friendly. I got the dish with beef and it wasn't chewy but my dad got 2 pieces that he had to spit out bc it was too chewy. Super savory dish also packed with flavor. It had that amazing wok smell too. Pineapple fried rice 7/10: pretty standard and can't go wrong. Curry flavored notes and not too oily. Tom kha soup pot 7/10: very coconutty and good flavor but a bit too salty. First bite at the Crab Fried Rice was pretty amazing! Though, missing a squeeze of lime, this place gives you seafood sauce instead. The sauce itself is very tasty and it made a big difference to the fried rice overall. Pad Thai was way too sour and way too wet. I also much prefer when chives are used for pad thai like an authentic Thai dish, rather than green onions. Their pad thai came with green onions. Other than that, they have great deals for lunch specials and the service was lovely. I'm glad that there is another nice Thai food popping ip here in Alhambra. Solid! Came here after bookmarking on Yelp! I had read good things on a San Gabriel Eats page recommending Bangkok Soul. We walked in and the place was packed at 1:30 on a Sunday afternoon. Fortunately we were able to be seated immediately and even though our server said they were short staffed and there may be a wait, our order and food arrived very quickly. We can for the Pad See Eww, but we're intrigued by a donut and gravy dish. Turns out it's a savory shrimp donut that we will definitely come back to try. The green curry we ordered medium spicy and it has a nice robust flavor with large pieces of tender eggplant. We brought some home to use as a base for dinner tonight. Easy free parking. However the 2 entrees came first, and crab rangoon appetizer came out pretty late into the meal which we laughed off. Interior was clean. The pork leg signature was beautifully braised and tender, and sauce was perfect with the rice. Veggies are not marinated or pickled. Crab Rangoon was crispy and fresh tasting The pad thai was not stand out. The sauce was distributed unevenly so one bite was salty, next was not. So be sure to mix it up well yourself. This is one of the more saucy and salty/sour pad thais i've had, not sure if its normal but im sure it suits someones tastes, but not so much mine. This was unfortunately the worst Thai restaurant I been to because not only was the food awful but so was the service! This is a small Thai spot located in a busy plaza so parking can be difficult especially on the weekends. They're open daily 11am-3pm & 4pm-9pm (Except Sat - 11am-3pm & 5pm-9pm) There is lunch special on weekdays 11am-3pm and it comes with a dish, side, soup, and drink for $15.95! I went on New Year's Eve and that was considered a "holiday" so unfortunately, there was no lunch special. Menu had a good variety of dishes and most of the dishes were less than $20. Inside was small with not too much seating. Service was not welcoming, attentive, or friendly. It wasn't even busy when I arrived and I was not greeted by the staff so I just took a seat on a table of my choice. Waited a few minutes before finally being acknowledged and given a menu. I had a hard time deciding what to order and I didn't appreciate being asked every 5 minutes by the staff if I was ready yet. I think she must have asked me at least 3+ times and it wasn't even busy yet. The Pad Thai ($16) tasted so terrible and definitely didn't taste authentic. It didn't have any pan fried taste and the sauce was so sour/tangy that it tasted like lemon noodles. It honestly tasted like frozen/microwaved food and it was unfortunately one of the worst Pad Thai I've ever had so this was 3/10. The Yellow Curry ($15) didn't come with rice or protein so I had to add +$1 for chicken and +$2.75 for jasmine rice. This was the worst curry I have ever had. It was so watery that it seemed more like a watered down soup than curry. It was so bland and hardly had any ingredients - potatoes, carrots, onions, and chicken. The chicken seemed overcooked and flavorless. This dish was 3/10 When it came to paying for the bill, I waited at least 10+ minutes and was never paid attention to. The server walked past my table several times and every time I tried to make eye contact with her, she would ignore me. I got so frustrated that I went up to the cashier and just gave her the money. She got agitated with me and told me to wait. I understand it was busy and they were understaffed but honestly, the service was poor even before they got busy.
