I have been coming here for 10+ years. And it's honestly my fave Thai food place. So much better than Ocha in my opinion. The ambience is very casual, not that noisy but also not too quiet. The staff has always been amazing, nice, kind, and attentive to me and my family. They are also so nice to my kids. They have given them toys and stickers. We usually always order the same thing: Shrimp pad see ew Chicken chow mein Pork jerky with an extra side of their dipping sauce Shrimp Tom Yum (on the hotpot) with chili on the side since my girls don't eat spicy food And a large steamed white rice The food has always been so good! I wish I had complaints but it's always hit the spot. The pork jerky is so crispy! And their dipping sauce is ‍ we always ask for an extra one. I love that the chow mein is a really big portion, feeds all 4 of us. The pad see ew also great taste. And we live the soup! The perfect balance of lemon taste and with the chili we add after it always makes it better. We love eating the soup when we are catching a cold. This place is decent. The orange chicken here is my favorite thing in their menu beside the chicken satay. Fresh and crunchy, thigh meat. Sauce is on point. Savory, sweet, tangy. Good stuff. Better when eaten fresh, not to go. Gets soggy and looses it's appeal after. Their prices are ok. The spot is pretty small. The staff is good, friendly. As far as Thai food goes, it's ok and close by to me, so I'm short on time and have a n itch to scratch for orange chicken, I go here to eat. I ordered 3 small party trays for my grandson birthday-Shrimp Pad Thai, chicken Pad Se Ew, and pork jerky. All of the food was delicious. Waitress was very helpful and polite. I also ordered a drink -blended Thai tea. It's super good. The small party trays cost about $50-$60 depending on the meat you selected. The large party trays cost about $100. One good thing I have to mention is the restaurant open 9:00 am. I have time to get food and go to the bd party on time. read more

This place is a true hole in the wall, especially with the view of it from the parking lot. I was here with a few friends on a weekday for their lunch special. For about 15.99, the meals come with a select menu of entrees, a small salad, and a drink. Food was good, nothing crazy stand out. Can't be a meal deal or lunch special nowadays. My shrimp pad thai was a bit on the saltier side that my drink was gone before I was halfway done with the meal. My friends enjoyed their dishes very well, so it could've been my entree choice. I do hope to come again soon to try their other dishes. Service was the usual. For small venue, they did not need many people on hand. It only was an issue when the place had a few more patrons after we came. Our server was super sweet though despite all the chaos going on. Would still come here again for their lunch special. One of the best restaurants I have ever been too. The food is always made to perfection with so much flavor. Since the orders are made to serve more than 1 it's a perfect spot to eat with friends/ family or even to have something to take for lunch the next day. Orange chicken is perfectly crispy. Noodles and rice are made extremely well. As well the milk tea boba is one of the best I have ever had. The servers are always so nice and friendly. This is a smaller restaurant so it's possible there isn't much seating but I would definitely wait for a table if I needed to. read more

This is a quick take-out review for a pad Thai I was craving. They don't list tofu on their menu but after calling them they said they can make their dishes vegetarian. They also ask if you want fried or non-fried tofu which is nice! Usually other Thai restaurants just have fried or don't ask. This Thai House is near McDonald's not in the Ralphs plaza. The parking is crowded in this plaza but we were still able to find parking. Food was ready quickly and the portions were worth it. I liked that they had super fresh bean sprouts to the side which added a good crunch. The Pad Thai is not too oily and the flavor is not particularly strong but enough for me. It tasted way better with a squeeze of lemon (which I added at home). They didn't give any citrus wedges but did give 1 soy sauce packet and some chili. read more

I'm sadden! What was once my favorite go to Thai food place has gone down severely!! They were known for their Orange chicken, after Covid most if not all of their food items have been disappointing. Today I ordered an Orange chicken and rice entree the "Orange chicken" was nothing but skin dipped and fried in flour and drenched in orange sauce ! I called and of course the woman offered to make me a new plate but having to drive back and hunt for parking is not worth it . 3.7 stars I'm torn. I ordered the pad thai lunch special which also came with rice and a side salad. On the one hand, I like that their lunch specials are a generous size, generous meat-to-noodle ratio, and comes with a drink. On the other hand, the flavor of the pad thai was dull, the white rice was a bit too dry, and not worth driving 20 minutes to pick up. So, here's my recommendation. If you have high blood pressure and need low sodium everything, the pad thai here is probably a good match for you. The portion of the lunch special is also big enough to be split into 2 meals unless you're a big eater. And if the pad thai is still too salty for you, I recommend mixing it with the white rice. Annnd I'm not joking b/c that is exactly how a family member of mine has to eat certain foods that are deemed too salty for his high blood pressure. Anyways.... I would definitely come back if I was in the area, but I probably will not be driving from home just to get the lunch specials here. If you work or live in Monterey Park, I think this is a very good low-key Thai restaurant to dine in or take out. And the fact that they're still in business means that they're doing a lot of things right and that I just happened to have picked something that might not be their star dish. This place has been my go to for Thai food, It's a small hole in the wall that you might miss especially where it's located. I usually go dine in with family and the service is always fast, waitresses very attentive, and the food is amazing! You get big portions so we usually have enough left to take home. I'm fairly new to the MP/SGV area and I always had the impression the other Thai restaurant in MP was the best Thai restaurant in the area given their highly touted and number of reviews. Thai House Express (THE) is my new go-to for my Thai food cravings and slightly cheaper! We opted for the typical: 1. Pad See Ew 5/5 - nice sear "wok hay" for those who know. Good mix of veggies and proteins. Beef slightly dry but would prefer pork or fried tofu next time. 2. Pad Thai 4.5/5 - saucy and savory. They accommodated our request for no bean sprouts. Portion fairly large. 3. Panang Curry - 5/5 very flavorful and recommend the pork (juicy) option. Comes in a large container. Definitely my fav. Make sure to order rice or make your own if you did take out like me, leftovers for dayssss Definitely give THE a try! I had my doubts, but boy was I wrong! I've come here for years. Their food is delicious and good quality. My favorite is the chicken larb with extra cashews I rarely eat out because I am sensitive to foods that have too many preservatives, use old grease and stuff like that. I never have any issues after eating at Thai House Express I never have stomach or joint issues. Most restaurants upset my stomach or make my joints hurt the next day but not when I eat here. This is one of our favorite restaurants, coming here for more than 10 years. But since they changed owners the flavor is not the same. This past Sunday we placed a big order to go and the flavor totally different. The beef broccoli, chicken rice and chow me in with no flavor. Used to come here a lot during Elac and before covidw but now I haven't came I. Awhile but I always like how clean it looks but it's embarrassing second time coming w boyfriend and I see something unsanitary happen and makes me second guess if I should continue going or eating the food I got today . Went here for the first time in a long time recently. It is a small place but there is a lot of parking available in the shopping center it's located in. They do have keys to a bathroom that is outside of the restaurant. They are relatively quick with the food which is nice if you're in a rush. The servers are super patient if you need a little extra time figuring out what you want.
