The Pad Thai is high-quality and very traditional--the noodles have that perfect chewy texture and a great sweet-and-tangy tamarind flavor without being overly sweet. The Yellow Curry is pure comfort food; the broth is incredibly rich, smooth, and aromatic, with perfectly cooked potatoes and veggies. On top of the great taste, the portion sizes are very generous. This place has been around for years, but it's my first time trying it. Ong Choy: really love the way the Ong Choy is made, it's not too salty and oily. It's flavorful and Ong Choy is nice and crunchy. Definitely a great vegetable selection. Pad Thai: the sauce is way too heavy and sweet. We didn't enjoy this as much as we thought we would. The first taste was good, but the more you have the saltier/sweeter it gets. The lime juice didn't lighten things up either. Don't really recommend it. Crab fried rice: there's a good amount of crab and egg in this dish. The rice is on the softer side, it's not dry and hard like most fried rice. We still enjoy it, the texture of the rice didn't kill the flavor of it. The flavor is very balanced, but quite oily. Tom yum seafood soup: There's a good amount of seafood in this soup. The flavor (sweet and sour) is well balanced. Sweet rice with mango: A great dessert option to finish the meal. It is not overly sweet. I'm not a fan of coconut, but the coconut is not distinctly sweet and overwhelming (so I was able to have some). The sweet rice is chewy and warm when served. And the mango is perfectly ripe and sweet. Definitely recommend it. The service was outstanding! The restaurant decoration is very traditional and unique. I came here with friends for some lunch. There is parking available in the back of the building. The restaurant is located on the far end of the building. There are plenty of tables inside, and service was really good. I got the lunch special - Pad Thai Chicken which came with other salad or soup. I got the sweet and sour soup. So glad I came back to Thai Paradise! I hadn't been in forever, but the food is just as good as I remember. The decor is classic and the restaurant was very clean. The service was also great. We ordered a bunch of stuff to share, including Beef Satay, Spicy Noodles, Sweet and Sour Pompano, and Papaya Salad. Honestly, every dish was amazing, but the Pompano was the real star. It was well-liked by everyone at our table. The Pad See Ew is one of our favorite Thai dishes, but it wasn't very good and had a strange odor. It smelled like smelly socks or something like that. I saw the Tom Yum Soup on other tables and it looked so cool with the fire. I had to get it, but it proved to be a mistake as none of us liked it either. They served us this complimentary purple rice dish for dessert and it was quite good. My son had never tried Fried Ice Cream and when I saw it on the menu. I had to order it for him despite my wife not wanting him to eat it. Whoops! He loved it as did I! The original server wasn't so good, but they must have switched because the female server who took over was much more attentive and helpful. It's fine. The crab fried rice is pretty good. The crab is all stirred into the egg and the crab and egg mixture sits on top of the rice, instead of throughout the rice, so that's a bit different. And probably best that way so you can stir it in as much or as least as you want. I've had it twice tho, and I think the reason I'm not bowled over by it is the quality of the crab itself. Very salty, and like, from a can and in stringy strips. Not a fresh leg of crab meat that you might imagine. I enjoyed the curry catfish. The sauce was very different curry than I'm used to - dark brown. But quite tasty. The catfish does have a lot of bones tho. So if you aren't use to eating honey fish, don't get it. It's a lot of work to avoid not choking yourself. The ambiance is old and ornate. Not modern. Very 80's or 90's spot that screams "Thai food sold here!" They could freshen up the digs. If you really want Thai and are in the area give it a try. But after going twice, I've had better Thai and think I'll explore other locals. Kind of surprised by the high ratings. It's been a hot minute since I've last come here, maybe like 15-20 years? I always wondered why we sparingly came to this place in SGV, probably distance related. So I decided to try out the food once more with parents with a food connoisseur mindset and here are my findings: Ambiance: since I was last there, the interior doesn't seem to have changed at all. We did order light heat to be on the safer side so I'd say if you can handle heat, just go for medium spice. Chicken pad Thai - what I consider as a base for Thai restaurants in America, the pad Thai felt a bit too sweet and saucy. Since it's a stir fry by nature I think the chef added a bit too much sauce to it. Slightly under par for a pad Thai though Chicken satay skewers - is pretty solid for what you can get elsewhere nowadays. Price wise it's on par as well Fried fish fillet w/ apple sauce - surprisingly the strongest of the choices we made. Apple sauce here is julienned apple strips marinated in a sweet vinegar base, similar to the cucumbers you get with satay skewers. It gave me a hint of verde sauce but Asian fusion. The fish was flaky and freshly fried. I'd recommend this again We did get offered a complimentary, what I assume to be a, red bean dessert. I forgot to ask what the price threshold was, but It was very refreshing with the coconut milk and red bean. When I picked up the food, there wasn't a lot of people there. For my order, I got the Pad Thai with pork. There was a good amount of pork. Cabbage and carrots were more than plenty. Those were fresh and crunchy. For peanuts, there were a decent amount in there. There were hot sauce packets and lemon given on the side. We were a larger party of 7 but they were able to seat us right away for lunch. The restaurant was charming and spacious. The food was delicious and the service was wonderful! Our server was so nice (he even brought a kids plate set for the toddler with us) and was patient as we made our way through the menu.
