Tried this place for breakfast since it opens early (8am), and food overall was fresh and good! Food we had: 1. Beef burrito - the beef burrito was a nice portion, with a crispy exterior and nice sliced beef on the inside with sauce inside 2. Lamb and cilantro pancake - set of 4, comes out hot and bursting with juices, eat with caution, but very satisfying 3. Soy milk - fresh, unsweetened soy milk with a good portion (enough for two people) Overall we paid around ~$30 for our meal. Not bad overall, food was fresh and prepared within 15 minutes. We ordered to-go. One thing I think can be improved is the soy milk was given in a bowl takeout container instead of a cup which made it hard to drink from.
Stopped by for some lamb and zucchini meat pies. Takes a while because everything is made to order but worth the wait. The skin is the perfect thickness, the filling is full of savory juices. I intended to eat half but convinced myself that it just wouldn't be the same if I took it home and let it cool. Just beware of the hot juices: wear an outfit you don't mind staining and nibble a hole and pour out the juices into your spoon like XLB. Your mouth will thank you. The cashier speaks English but you can also order from the QR code menu, which is in English.
They take a 2 hour break in the middle of the day, so the hours can be a bit limited and this is a pretty popular restaurant. Only a table or 2 were still free. Despite this, our food came out pretty quickly. It's a bit of an aged restaurant, but you can tell it's a community staple and favorite and it's a small mom and pop restaurant. It's as they say, it's nostalgic, Chinese comfort food. Reminds me of going over to your family's house if anything for the ambiance. We got the: 1) Shredded Potato with Sauce: -One of my musts for appetizers. It's a cold dish, but it's refreshing and addicting, a bit oily, but the crunchy texture of the potatoes make up for it. Great palate cleanser between the hearty umami flavors and the carbs of the other dishes that we got. This was enough to share amongst 3 hungry adults. 2) Lamb and Green Onion Pancakes: -These are stuffed pan fried savory "pancakes". Think of a giant wheel hot pocket if that makes any sense. Filled to the brim. Super moist and juicy, soupy meat in the middle with green onion dispersed through out. It'll start leaking the soup so you can rub the exterior dough shell into it. -Love the slight crisp on the bottom and tops too. -A MUST if you are dining here. 3) Pork and Fennel Steam Buns: -I love fennel as an herb. Gives a slight licorice taste to the meat. Very earthy and yummy. 4) Lamb and Chinese Cabbage Buns: -Love lamb. Don't always see it in steamed buns either, so we had to get this. Slight sour taste from the cabbage too. Good stuff. The buns are hearty and perfectly steamed. Again, super juicy and filled with the juice of the meats. The shop was nice enough to throw in an extra of one of our buns. Thank you! If I don't miss the timing, I'll definitely stop by again.

We landed here as a plan B. (Cuz the hipster spot down the street had a 40+ min wait!). I'm convinced THIS was the place we were SUPPOSED to be at all long. Let me run down what we had: Warm soy milk (yes, I'm told by our friends who lived in China, it's quick protein), cucumber salad (crunchy deliciousness), puffy bread (I'm sure I have the name wrong... great for dipping in the cuke garlic juice), lamb cilantro pie !!!! It's hotttttt steamy juicyyyyyyy flavorful and heavenlyyyyy!!! , beef soup (you want this!!! The noodles are just perfect and the beef is tender as is the baby book choy.... And we had dumplings .... Yesssss a must. Fishcake and beef dumplings. Both outstanding. By the time we left, there was a line outside. This place is small and homey. Lots of locals. I will be back. Drooling.
A casual spot for dumplings and noodles. The spot is fairly small with around five or six tables. You order from a QR code, a waiter brings you your food, and you pay at the counter. Upon walking in, I was a little turned off because I noticed an odd smell and my table had soy sauce residue left on it, but I stayed because of the good reviews and because they make their dumplings in house. You can even see behind the counter the space where they make their dumplings and you can buy frozen dumplings to go. I tried the wonton soup, fried mini dumplings, and chive pockets and thought everything was tasty. The wontons and dumplings were definitely the highlights. They were savory, juicy, and porky. Everything is made fresh to order so they warn you that it could take 15 minutes for your food to come out but our dishes came out fairly quickly.
MUST TRY!!! Everything was great here. The hot and sour soup was delicious, as well as all the dumplings (pan fried and steamed pork buns). I'm just surprised how fair the prices were. For 4 dumpling dishes, 1 noodle soup, 1 small soup, and 1 scallion pancake, the total was only $86 after tip and tax! The service and ambiance can't get more Chinese, which I love!
Today I was craving Chinese meat pie. I ordered the meat pie filled with beef and green onion , beef noodle soup and onion pancake to go. The order of meat pie comes in four pies. It was delicious. The beef noodle soup was also good. I did not liked the green onion pancake. It was kind of thick and it doesn't contain many layers. I would not order the green onion pancake again. But I would definitely order the meat pies and beef noodle soup again. This restaurant is very small. Seating for dine in is very limited. Service is very slow. If you are in a time crunch, call ahead to place your order and do take out instead of dining in at the restaurant.
Sometimes you crave scallion pancakes and you find yourself in a quaint, hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant to fill your craving. Of course, my eyes were bigger than my stomach and I ordered way more than I could comfortably eat in a single sitting. I got scallion pancakes, beef and onion pies, and egg and chive pies. They were all so fresh and delicious, steaming hot and crispy. The beef and onion pies turned out to be full of juice, which was a surprise to me, but not a bad thing at all. The food takes a little time but it was well worth the wait. Service is kind and straightforward, which I appreciated. You order on your phone and pay with the server. All in all, a good experience, and worth coming back.
Highly highly recommend for takeout because their dumplings and baos are simply incredible, whether hot or frozen. Reminds me of the ones my grandpa makes! Would not recommend dine in unless you plan to wait an hour after ordering to start getting your food. Middle aged lady at the cash register is also just so grumpy and rude, like you're bothering her by being there. Traditional Chinese restaurants aren't known for their friendliness, but she had by far the worst attitude of them all. The younger lady that took over (because we were that long for 4 dishes) was much friendlier and helpful.
True hole in the wall place with homemade Chinese dishes featuring dumplings, buns, pancakes and many other things. If it can be wrapped in dough then fried or steamed, these ladies can do it! QR code menus unlock the secret treasures of the kitchen prepared by old school cooks. You get the feeling that you're eating from the kitchen of the Chinese family matriarch. Sitting at the table waiting for the next treat to arrive. Order plenty of dishes, one from each category and then take the leftovers home. There are cute signs on the wall giving instructions about the cups at the table. Don't play with them. They are for drinking. Be self-disciplined! "Be patient, we make everything by hand" Listening to the sounds of Chinese ladies conversing, decorations from the homeland, other Chinese customers sitting at tables gossiping about the gringos. It's easy to imagine that you've walked through a portal into another world. That's the beauty of Alhambra. And plenty of parking in the rear. read more
If you're looking for a restaurant that serves freshly made steamed buns from scratch that's very competitively priced, then this is the place to go! The buns are also surprisingly large too. Caution when you bite into them as they're hot and contain small amounts of broth/soup. They also have other delicious options including beef noodle soup, plated veggies, and soy milk. Their beef noodle soup is made really well. I literally wanted to drink all the broth but was afraid to elevate my own blood pressure lol. Highly recommend coming during the off times (i.e. before and after lunch) because there's limited seating. We often see people waiting outside the building until there's a table available. A family favorite because of their fresh dumplings and attention to allergens. Our 3 year old has allergies to dairy, nuts,and sesame seeds. Min min takes great care to omit these allergens so we are able to enjoy their dishes without worry. My nephew loves the cucumbers, he can eat a serving all to himself. What makes this place great everything is made fresh to order. Freshly steamed or freshly fried dumplings. Always juicy inside. read more

NO FUSS DUMPLINGS yummy, satisfying, and meat filled dumplings. A hole in the wall with aunties in the back making great dumplings. Highly recommend the pancake pork dumplings. Crispy to almost perfection and so juicy! Not even that oily too. Quick service too. read more

I was craving dumplings so I was browsing through Yelp and found Min Min Pie House. They have pretty high ratings and after trying their food, I now know why! Everything was delicious.! We ordered the following: - Cucumber with Sauce $5.49 - Beef & Green Onion Pancake (Meat Pie) $12.99 - Small Steamed Bun $11.99 - HK Style Shrimp and Pork Wonton in Soup $11.99 - Shredded Seaweed with Sauce $5.49 - Pork & Seafood Dumplings $11.99 Everything was really good, especially the HK Style Shrimp and Pork Wonton in Soup (which I'm craving already), Beef & Green Onion Pancake (it's their Meat Pie...so juicy), garlic cucumbers, and shredded seaweed (love that it had a bit of numbing taste). It's a small restaurant on the inside and as you walk in, you probably will see little aunties and grandma's making the dumplings by hand. I love that you can order everything online if you want to take it to go with ease. There is street parking and parking in the back. Please give this place a try, you definitely won't be sorry. read more
Came here just for the Jiang baos because of the reviews I read. Total mom and pop shop and you can see them making the in the front. You can also buy the juice dumplings frozen to go which I got. Haven't tried those but the Jiang baos were good but not great. It wasn't juicy on the inside from the ones I had before. A little disappointed from it but for 9 bucks it is a deal compared to how much the others are in the area. read more
Tasty made to order dumplings and meat pies! There can be a wait so be prepared. Order at the table. We saw some parties ordered ahead and were able to enjoy upon sitting down. Came here for the first time with my family. And ordering was very easy since you do it through a QR code. Food came within around 15 to 20 minutes, because everything was made fresh. On a Sunday morning at 8:30an in late November, I came here for breakfast with my family. This place is on my sister list to try out. It's next to the poke place on main Street. Inside space is small with several tables. It appears parent's and daughter's owns this place and speaks mandarin. We ordered from the QR code on the table and ordered of 6 plates. Wonton soup. Beef noodle soup had small pieces of beef and bok choy, xlb wasn't juicy at all, pan fried xlb taste better than streams one, wonton soup was home made and taste good. Big round Pork pan fried buns taste good, pork and leek dumplings taste good. The kitchen is small behind the counter and everything is handmade. Good food. Parking in the street. read more
The food at Min Min Pie House was so good I forgot to take pictures. I grew up in the area, and it wasn't until recently that I even knew this place existed. The interior is super simple and reminds me of Taiwan. Everything is made to order, so the food comes out incredibly fresh. You have to try the pan fried dumplings and soup dumplings. I love how chewy the wrappers are, and there's plenty of meat and juice inside. The prices are also ridiculously cheap, which honestly makes the food taste even better. read more
Very tasty steamed baos. I got the '3-ingredient' one, lots of broth inside the hot, soft, fluffy steamed dough. However there is a strong after taste of alcohol (rice wine?) which I dislike. $14 for 8 large baos, enough for several meals. Please use less alcohol in your stuffing marinade. read more
Excellent dumplings! I even bought a bag to make at home. I also love their beef roll. It was packed with beef and diced scallions and cilantro rolled up in a crisp scallion pancake. I also got this dish a second time when I got my dumplings to go. Their meat pies are deliciously juicy. Careful when you bite into them! read more
Such a cute mom & pop spot on Main St! Min Min Pie House is known for their freshly made meat pies and frozen dumplings to-go, & everything we tried was so delicious. We got the pork cilantro meat pies (first time trying this & it was so good!), the pan fried pork buns (def a hit here), and our favorite, the beef noodle soup, which was very fresh, flavorful, and hearty. Friendly service & cozy, comforting vibes all around. Will definitely be coming back to try more dishes! read more

I was craving for meat pies and found this place to be the closest to me. I walked in and it was pretty empty. I scanned the QR code and order from there. I didn't have much interactions with the staffs. I ordered meat pie, cucumber salad and shanghai wonton soup. Overall I thought the food was pretty bland except for meat pie. It took a while for food to come out even though I was the only table there. Meat pie was hot and juicy. When I bit into meat pie, juice came out right away. Be careful, it's hot! I found parking in the back and walked over. I would stop by again if I ever have cravings for meat pie. I would love to try other dishes next time. read more

Came in on a Saturday night with a friend and we were seated right away - didn't have to deal with a long line or wait, which was nice. Menu viewing and ordering are done through a QR code (no physical menus) and we pay at the front when we're ready to pay. While the menu doesn't have descriptions, the photos were helpful in deciding what to order. The food was decent, but nothing particularly memorable. It wasn't bad by any means though! Best dish of the night was the cucumber salad, solid dish! read more
I got to say the food is amazing, the service is amazing as well. I tried the lamb and cilantro pie. The pie skin was crisp and held the juice of the meat pie so well. I would say this is like a xlb by bigger and better. The fried pork bun was good too. I would definitely come back and try their other items. Ambiance is ok, I mean it could be brighter, more organized and newer furniture. Parking is ample behind the building with a free public parking lot and free street parking. read more

You know a place is legit when it's a hole in the wall, the menus are in Chinese, and there is a grandma making chili oil right in front of you. I ordered the Shanghai style wonton soup, pork pies, and cucumber salad, which was more than enough for a party of 2. The soup, while light, was bursting with umami. The pork and scallion pies came hot and juicy, generously filled with a crispy crust. The cucumber salad was mild but well seasoned, a perfect complement to the heavier pies. All the dishes tasted home made, and even earned the approval of my Chinese friend. I look forward to coming back. read more

Honestly, a hidden gem in the area. Came here with my grandparents and it did not disappoint them. We got a beef and pork meat pie and it was extremely juicy. Every single bite was crispy but also it hit you with the juice. We got the seaweed salad and it was a perfect appetizer to start off . We also got the wontons and me and my grandma were obsessed with the the soup base. Although the wontons were tiny, but they were good. It was meat in every bite. We also got the beef rolls. They were good but they were a little salty. overall we'll come here again. It is one of my new favorite spots. Just be prepared to wait, as they make everything fresh and they only had five tables ! It seems like a lot of people buy their frozen stuff though! read more
Min Min pie house is a Chinese meat pie hooe in the wall restaurant (in the nicest way). They are known for their amazing meat pies. It was my first time there, so we ordered several other items too! It's a simple place, with the ambiance of stepping into a fast food plscr in China. You order online through a designated QR code, but if you need a paper menu when you are there, it's by the cash register. People were nice, but also kept to themselves. Everything is super fresh, especially the doughs of every dish! Yum!! There were 5 of us that went and we had different favorites. I put top three by person below. Regular meat pie: yummy, it's like a big flat soup dumpling. Eat with a spoon! Pan fried XLB (soup dumplings): my daughter ate almost two plates. We have never seen this done before, it looks like it was steamed and then quickly pan fried. It's not a gyoza. Sesame sauce noodles: my favorite. Really great sauce with super fresh noodles Cucumbers and potatoes small cold dishes were both good! It's my families go to place that live nearby. It was my first time, but I will be going back. Min Min Pie House is a homely cozy restaurant where you'll get freshly made savory pancakes and dumplings and buns. The beef pancake is a simple patty that's seasoned well and encapsulated in a nicely fried bun alongside a mouthful of broth. I had to run an errand in the area over the weekend and decided to get an early lunch. Not many restaurants were open yet so I settled on this restaurant since they open early. Service: The restaurant is pretty small and does not have many tables so be prepared to wait a bit if they're busy. Ordering is done easily through a QR code on the table. Menu is in both English and Chinese. The only interaction we had with the staff was when they dropped off water and food. Food: We ordered the scallion pancake, cucumber salad, and meat pies. The scallion pancake was nice and crispy but it lacked flavor. We ended up not finishing this dish because it was so bland. The cucumber salad was overall good but some pieces were way too salty. The best dish was the meat pies. It was juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The only reason why I would come back in the future would be for their meat pies. read more
