We were back here this week because of My SGV Passport, and we got a free Benedict entree for it! We opted for the Florentine Benedict, and the yolk definitely popped on the poached eggs! There is so much food - my partner and I shared one entree and an onion ring. I also got a mango iced green tea, which was so refreshing and perfectly sweet (not too sweet). The onion rings were nice and crispy, and it seems like they use the 椒鹽 seasoning that is used for popcorn chicken in other establishments. Delicious. Also, my partner tells me that onions are prebiotic, so we can put onion rings down as...healthy! The iced tea is refillable, and before we left, they refilled my tea and put it in a to-go cup for me. There is free lot parking around Alhambra. This is one of those places where you order at the counter and you find a seat (which honestly stresses me out a lot, but it wasn't too bad when we were there).
2026-2027 MySGV X 626 Night Market Passport Limited Edition (valid through June 30, 2027) has elevated my food adventures recently. I arrived in Alhambra one Sunday afternoon with the intention to hit 4 food spots to redeem free offers. They are part of the 24 participating restaurants in the food passport. I only got to two places and Popping Yolk Cafe (PYC) was one of them. PYC was number 6th stamp in my food passport! Free parking was easy at the Mosaic Parking Structure (4 hours limit). Very short walk from parking to restaurant. First time at PYC. I was lucky to get here thirty minutes prior to closing time. They specialize in breakfast and brunch only. Their free passport offer is 1 Benedict Entree or 1 French Toast Entree. Dine in only and no substitutions. Thanks PYC! Interior space was quite nice and vibey. Tables were clean. Ambiance was relaxing and cozy. Love the beautiful yellow decor! Plenty of inside seating with no exterior seating. Mia was the young lady staff who welcomed me with a friendly greeting and took my order. She was super nice, patient, and helpful. Other staff members were cordial and attentive. Thanks Mia and All! WOW, what a super amazing free food offer! I didn't hesitate and got the Avocado Benedict. Both eggs were perfectly poached. Avocado was just ripe. Ham slices were thick and tasty. Hollandaise sauce was rich and buttery with a bit of tangy taste. Just one small gripe, the english muffin did not appear to have been toasted. It was tough to cut through. Other than that, it was a fantastic benedict entree for a first timer like myself. I was feeling hungry so I also got an order of Ube French Toast and one Mango Green Tea (refillable). Another WOW, delicious house ube filling in a deep-fried toast topped with semi-sweet coconut flakes and fresh blueberries along with a drizzle of maple syrup and condensed milk. VERY YUMMY! This one is a winner! Mango green tea had deep tropical and tea flavors... nice drink! Menu has a great variety of egg benedicts and crunchy french toasts along with sandwiches, omelettes, burgers, crepes, waffles, pancakes, salad, and snacks. Prices were reasonable for the huge portions. Highly recommend! Love to return to try their other specialty breakfast and brunch items. I just need to get here early. Btw, besides Alhambra, they have two other locations... Pasadena and Hacienda Heights.
Opened in late 2019 this is a really nice and casual breakfast option in Alhambra that specializes in Eggs Benedict, hence the name. It's not a full wait service restaurant, you order at the counter, they give you a number, and bring the food to you. The menu is also fairly small so there are not as many options as you would get in a diner or similar. Inside is medium sized and can host small and medium size groups, and they seem to turn the tables quite quickly. All the items that we ordered came out pretty fast. The one issue that we had was we both ordered breakfast dishes with no modifications and one of ours came out first and the other came out over 10 minutes later, so basically we ate our breakfast while looking at the other without eating. I wish they would have timed it up a bit better. They don't have a dedicated parking lot, but street parking was easy to find. We did not have a server however the staff that we did encounter were very polite. Just the issue we had was the mistiming of our breakfast dishes coming out. We ordered the Eggs and Bacon Standard Breakfast and the California Eggs Benedict. I will say that the Eggs Benedict eggs were done perfectly however, I wish there would be a little bit more variety in the protein choice, and the bread choice. My bread was also a bit soggy, but the eggs were very nice. Overall, a good option, however, not as great as some of the Pasadena options a bit further north. I would certainly suggest though if you are in the area.
Parked at the free parking garage on First Street. Came during a weekend morning and there were about two tables in front of us. Saw some people ordered to go. If you dine in, you order at the counter, get your number, and get seated. They had indoor and patio seating in the back. The indoor table seatings were all taken and the patio seatings were opened except for one table. We got the Norwegian Benedict for $20.20, Classic Benedict for $18.75, Toffee Banana Crepe for $16, Mozzarella Sticks for $8, and refillable Mango Iced Green Tea for $6. The Benedict's were good and filling. The Toffee Banana Crepe was too sweet. The Mozzarella Sticks were alright, but a bit oily. The Mango Iced Green Tea was refreshing. We liked that we got multiple refills. Good place to catch up with friends.
We waited about a half hour for a table (there is a waitlist you have to check into on an iPad at the restaurant, which gives you live updates, we waited it out at the library down the street). Worth the wait! I loved the variety of brunch dishes, some combinations that were rather unique and I hadn't seen before like a kimchi butter fried chicken eggs benedict. I got the Nashville fried chicken eggs benedict like it seems everyone does and it met the hype! The home fries were lightly crisped to perfection. The service was good as well, they came and refilled waters often. Our lychee sangria was pretty sweet but was really refreshing in this heat. Not too loud so you can have a nice chat with friends. There is free 4 hour parking in Lot 2 Parking Garage across the street.
Delicious egg benedict breakfasts here! I got the new Kimchi Butter Fried Chicken Benedict and it was tasty and good. The fried chicken was crispy and wasn't dry with good kimchi flavor as well as a generous portion of real kimchi. The english muffin used was soft and the hollandaise sauce was tasty and saucy. The poached egg was good too, but a little overcooked. It came with a side of crispy country fried potatoes and a fresh salad which was a nice combo. Balanced and delicious breakfast! To dine-in, you order and pay at the counter and they give you a number and you will be delivered the food where you sit at. My friends and I went on a Saturday morning, so it was a bit busy. We had to wait a bit to order, but it wasn't too long. The interior is pretty neat and clean. Also dog friendly. No outdoor seating. For parking, there's free covered parking structures in the area. Overall, I had a good experience here and I would dine at this chain again!
Visited popping yolk for Saturday brunch. Wait time was ~15 minutes at 10am. You order at the cashier, pay, and place your number on the table. We shared a long table with another party of three. Here's what we ordered: Drinks Fresh squeezed orange juice Mango tea (refillable) Food Kimchi butter fried chicken Benedict Norwegian Benedict House French toast The Benedicts were served with roasted potato cubes and a small side salad. The French toast was topped with blueberries and sliced strawberries. The food was delicious. Each entree was nicely presented. Servers refilled our water cups often which was much appreciated on a hot summer day. We were also offered a refill of mango tea to go, which we gladly accepted. Staff were hospitable and attentive. We utilized our SGV passports which covered our entrees. What a deal!
SGV passport brand us to dine in. Apparently there are 6 locations with a new one coming in 2027 MPK! Ordered the free item in our passport selected the original benedict. Ordered berry french toast. Both were super great! Big portion and beautifully plated. I don't usually eat french toast but theirs was crunchy and loved the added whip cream, blueberries and strawberries. We even had leftovers to take home. Glad we were reminded to keep going to this place.
The food was good, I got the eggs benedict with sweet potato fries and it was yummy. Staff was super nice and they were really patient as I took a while to figure out what I wanted from the menu. On the slightly pricier side but otherwise was a good meal.
Solid brunch restaurant with a ton of options. We ordered an eggs Benedict and crepe. Loved the potatoes that came with the eggs Benedict! Coffees are pretty good as well. Ordering is at the front of the restaurant and you can pick any available table. There's plenty of free parking in the garages.
This is nestled on Main Street. It is a walk up and order, where you find a table to sit down. If some tables needs to be cleaned, please waive down a worker and they will clean the table for you. The eggs benedicts is a must try. It is cooked perfect. Additionally, everything was cooked perfectly. You won't be let down. A great place for a meet up with your friends early morning.
The food was out of this world! The ube stuffed French toast was perfection ~ crispy on the outside with just the right amount of filling on the inside. It was nice and quiet inside so could enjoy conversation with my friend.

The set up: you order up front, pay, take a number & find yourself a table & food will be delivered to you. Easy peasy! Hubby ordered the Classic Benedict & of course I ordered the star of the show- Ube French Toast (Ube condensed milk & coconut flakes on the side). Additionally, I ordered a side of grilled chicken. Alexis, the order taker brought our dishes separately & Hubby cannot wait so he dug right in before mine arrived. I know it's not intentional, but I noticed that bigger table (6 patrons) had arrived after we did and they received their food very shortly and all at the same time. Not digging that. In any case, my food finally came & the anticipation was tingly. It's the best part, the toasts were crispy crunchy on the outside & moist on the inside-- so good! Well balanced sweetness, I had control over how much ube condensed milk was poured- that's a plus. Hubby didn't like the muffin of his eggs Benedict because he said it was "tough & stale" but the potatoes & eggs were good. We finished off the French toast in a heartbeat. Background music was too loud for our taste (and ears) to enjoy brunch, the aesthetics were on point. Parking is very tricky, so glad we found one a block away (free city parking structure). It's worth returning for the one French toast.
Popping Yolk always hits, and I've been to so many of their locations. This one is located in Downtown Alhambra, and it was a bit busy when we got there around 9:30 AM on Saturday. We didn't have to wait, but by 10 AM, there was a waitlist. This location was a pretty reasonable size, and I thought all the food was delicious. Here's what I had. Avocado Benedict - My fav. It was creamy, and the eggs were super runny. The salad and potatoes were a nice addition to the entree. Solid. (5/5) BBQ Pulled Pork Omelette - They packed the omelette with pulled pork, and the flavors were good. Quite filling and very delicious. The pulled pork had a nice flavor. (4.5/5) Toffee Banana French Toast - The French toast was cooked perfectly. Not overly sweet, which I like, and had a nice crisp. Very good. (4.5/5) Potted Plant Latte - More for fun since it looks like a plant. It tastes almost like Starbucks. It's sweet, but if that's your thing, you'd enjoy it. Personally, I like my latte a bit less sweet. (4/5) Americano - Basic coffee, but it was good. I had this iced, and it was refreshing. (4/5) Overall, you can't go wrong with Popping Yolk. They're always pretty busy in the morning, so it's worth coming a bit earlier to beat the crowd. Parking - Plenty of lots nearby or street parking. read more

This might be a new favorite brunch spot for me! Their portions are also pretty big so can't go wrong with that. I got the Nashville hot chicken Benedict and it was soooo good I would get it again! Also got to try the bacon jam burger and that was flavorful and was on the sweeter side due to the jam but definitely didn't disappoint. For our drinks, the mango iced green tea was refreshing and refillable (awesome) and the potted plant latte was super cute and glad it tasted pretty good. Parking was not too bad at all as I just found free street parking just a block over. I love the vibes of this restaurant plus the service was great! Definitely add Popping Yolk to your must visit brunch spot if you're ever in LA :) read more

Was in the area looking for a good breakfast spot. I lucked out and found an amazing one. As soon as I walked in, was greeted by staff and was told about the menu. You order at the register and then take a number to sit down. Luckily, there is a picture book of most the dishes you can look at to decide. They do offer a lot of great options for breakfast. Finally got to try this viral brunch spot. So let's see if their pretty good eh or ew. They just opened another location in melrose and I got their green tea latte, special and new ube French toast, bacon jam burger, and kimchi butter fried chicken eggs Benedict to try. I got my friend their ube latte and they really enjoyed it. The green tea latte had strong green tea flaves and wasn't really sweet. The ube French toast was topped with some blueberries, had a crispity crunchity exterior with a fluffy soft custardy interior and ube filling. Didn't taste much like ube but was still very yummy. The bacon jam burger had a soft pillowy buttered bun, sweet Caramelized bacon jam, a sunny side up egg, gooey cheese, meaty juicy patty that did need some seasoning not gonna lie, and bitter arugula. I also got it with a side of their yummy sweet potato fries. The kimchi butter fried chicken eggs benny came with a side of a fresh leafy vinaigrette dressed salad and some not bad country potatoes. The benny itself had a super soft fluffy English muffin that soaked up that rich kimchi butter, crunchy fermented kimchi, tender crisp fried chicken cutlet and perfectly poached egg. Been my first time in a while at this location and I'm pleased to say it's just as good as I remember. - Fried Chicken Kimchi Eggs Benedict: Sometimes restaurants just pile on random ingredients and hoping they meld together. Interestingly, the kimchi and fried chicken are a nice pairing. The sourness of the kimchi gutting through the greasiness of the chicken. Decadent as hell but it was nice for lunch. - Strawberry Cheesecake Crepe: Love me a little decadent crepe/waffle/pancake situation so this was the perfect option. Love Popping Yolk because they have a whole section on their menu of these dishes. The crepe itself had a nice crisp that didn't get soggy despite the plethora of ingredients. Richness on top of richness but I was feeling gluttonous so this hit the spot. Food here always hits and the service is great. The staff greeted me walking in and were super quick with the food. I have to ding one star for the service fee. I just don't believe anyone should accept these hidden fees anymore. It's also not transparent where this money goes. The owners all say this is for "staff costs" but there's no way to fact check that. Anyway, that's my two cents. read more

I've been here before but never got around to leaving a review, so I'm glad I came back because the food is still really good. This time I tried the Nashville hot chicken sandwich, and it was a bit of a letdown. It wasn't as crunchy or as flavorful as I expected. The potatoes, though, were just as good as I remember, super crispy and easily one of the highlights. The popping yolk burger also looked really good, so that's probably what I'd try next time. The staff were friendly and attentive, service was great, and the ambience is perfect for a brunch spot. I wouldn't order the Nashville hot chicken sandwich again, but I'd definitely come back to try other items. We've tried this location a few times and sampled a few Benedicts. The Nashville Chicken and Crab Benedicts were my favorites (juicy and flavorful), even though the Nashville chicken wasn't spicy. The Norwegian Smoked Salmon Benedict, however, was a miss (kind of fishy and bland.) For dessert, the Toffee Banana Crepe was excellent, with crunchy cereal topping and delicious toffee. The Iced Horchata Latte was also good. My only complaints: the hollandaise was a bit too thick, and the yolks were inconsistent. Considering it's called "Popping Yolk," we were expecting all runny yolks. Overall, still a solid brunch choice! read more

When we got to the location, we found street parking near the front and saw there were people waiting around as well as signing into a tablet. After placing our order, we took a walk around to explore the other shops and restaurants nearby and came back to our food being ready after 15-20 minutes. At home, we dug in and I enjoyed the Country fried potatoes and the salad that came with the meal since the Kimchi Butter Fried Chicken Benedict was pretty heavy. I wish that it was a bit spicier since when I think of kimchi I think of spicy. The hollandaise sauce wasn't what I was use to either. Came here due the SGV passport and ordered Nashville hot eggs Benedict. WOW what a huge plate of food with salad and crispy potatoes. Upon entering you order and pay 1st and get a number for the table. Food came out fast. Will return to try other items on the menu. Parking was easy on the street or in the structure behind. Decided to come here for the first time for breakfast and may be the last, or at least will not be ordering anything with bacon or breakfast potato's. Ordered the traditional breakfast and got the worst cuts of low quality, overcooked bacon pieces. The potato's tasted like they had been sitting in grease for a while. Had brunch on a Sunday with my friend and the wait was around 30 minutes so it wasn't too bad. I haven't been back in a while but the quality was still there. The inside of the cafe was cute and they had outdoor seating with shade. The service was fast and the food was great! We got the bbq brisket (4/5) and Nashville hot chicken Benedict (4/5) with a side of seasoned the fries (5/5). The eggs were perfectly poached but the spicy on the chicken was not there at all. The eggs on the eggs Benedict always come out jammy to perfection. I really enjoy the Norwegian one but tried their Nashville one this time..very heavy so I might stick to my noweiggg one. The lychee sangria is yummy and it's worth it if you get a pitcher which makes 8 glasses of sangria. The diced potatoes are nice and crispy. Always consistently great food. Go for any eggs benedict. The egg is always poached just right, and the ratio of egg to protein to vegetable is very balanced and everything taste fresh. It comes on an English muffin, which is just slightly toasted. It is very classic. I personally prefer my eggs Benedict on brioche toast for easier slicing. The French toasts are fried and can be stuffed (Ube) or topped (Apple). The coffee is also very nicely done and arrives piping hot. Come often and expect a slight wait as they are popular. read more

Possibly the best location for Popping Yolk cafe (some locations of the same name are not as good). Hearty breakfasts, especially if you're into eggs Benedict. You get a "well balanced" and filling breakfast, and may even be able to share if you're not hungry. Potatoes can be a hit or miss (needs more crisp). Good ambience, location with a nearby (free) parking lot and some shops. Service is typically pretty good. Overall a recommend. read more

Fried chicken Benedict is a must! First time coming here with my wife. Wait wasn't long, about 15 minutes. Came around 11am on Friday. Inside has a nice vibe. Very clean and spacious. The servers were really nice and accommodating and the food came out really fast. My wife and I shared the Fried Chicken Benedict and the Ube French toast. The Fried Chicken Benedict was perfect! We got it mild because my wife can't handle spicy. The fried chicken was crispy and so juicy unlike other places where it comes out soggy from the coleslaw and sauce. Ube French toast was pretty good. For me it was a little heavy. Flavor wise it reminded me of deep fried carnival desserts with a ube filling. Probably better to order this if you plan on sharing with a few people. My only complaint is the ube latte. It tastes more like cocoa the ube, but overall everything was a great first time experience. Definitely will stop by again if I'm in the area. read more

I was looking forward to some yummy French toast this morning and decided to try popping yolk since they had that and eggs Benedict for my husband. To start, the service is decent, you order, pay, take your number and find a table. The server came right away with a coffee and two waters. The coffee tasted terrible, for 5$ plus free refill, not worth it at all. When my husbands classic eggs Benedict it looked spectacular, it came with potatoes and a spring salad.. the only good thing on the plate were the greens and potatoes. After waiting exactly 12 minutes for my French toast, I'd already lost my appetite. I ate 2/4 toasts which was more than enough although I felt a stomach ache come automatically from how sweet they were (I ordered the apple cinnamon French toast). I don't think I'll give this place another try as we were disappointed with the food. read more

Will the new location in Ontario ranch offer any gluten free options?
How many outdoor patio tables?
They have a back patio area. I counted 5 (2-4 ppl per table) under the ceiling and another 4-5 tables under the tarp they have to protect from water or sun. You can put them together depending your group size.
If we have a party of 9, do we need to make a reservation?
You can add your name when you arrive. The entire party needs to be there before you are seated. They can page you when a table is available. We had nine people and waited a little over an hour.
Is outdoor dining still available on weekdays?
