I have been wanting to come here since moving to the area 4 years ago for college, and graduating seemed like the perfect occasion, as my aunts wanted to treat me to a celebratory meal on June 10th. Delightfully understated atmosphere with unique tiles throughout the decor, and we loved that we could hear each other talk and enjoy each other's company. Our server was amazing, she was so knowledgeable while being personable and extremely funny. I assume she's the cook's wife based on the other reviews - I arrived a little after my aunts, so I didn't get a full introduction since they had already secured a table and had ordered some drinks while looking over the menu. I had my eye on 3 different meat dishes - the Roasted Duck Breast, the New Zealand Lamb, and the Angus Beef Ribeye Steak - and my aunts also had each picked 1 of those, so we went family style, and it did not disappoint!! The chef knows how to cook each type of meat to perfection, and the searing pans are doing exactly what they need to be doing! The Roast Duck Breast was AMAZING as cooked to the recommended medium, with delicious crispy skin. The Angus Beef Ribeye Steak at medium rare was as tasty as it was gorgeous! And the New Zealand Lamb was PERFECTION, down to the bone. We also got the gourmet macaroni and cheese as an add-on side, since all the meals come with mashed potatoes and various veggies, and I was in heaven! As someone who used to work at the Disney Parks and frequented the steakhouses and other fine dining both here and in Orlando, Sage Bistro is giving Disney a run for its money when it comes to high-quality meat dishes! The prices reflect both the cut of the meats and the skill of preparation, with it averaging to about $50 each across the 3 of us, which is pretty reasonable for top-tier quality! The only thing I had to be careful about was that many of the dishes have mushrooms, and my throat gets itchy if I eat most mushrooms, so I had to avoid those dishes. During our meal, when I mentioned it to our server for future visits, she was great at noting which dishes could completely be modified to have no mushrooms while also being realistic about acknowledging the dishes that cannot be, which sadly includes the Braised Short Rib that sounds out of this world. But I can have the Beef Rib Soup, so I definitely want to try that next because I WILL BE BACK!!! Since you enter Sage Bistro you feel like you are at home. We were greeted by Ms. Wanda, she is so welcoming, warm and funny. The decor is simple but the place makes up in flavor. Allen (Wanda's husband) the chef, cooked for us a delicious chicken farfalle pasta and a cooked to perfection pan seared salmon served with sauteed red onions and mushrooms over rice and parmesan potatoes. The portions are quite big so we had leftovers. The food is a fusion of Italian, American and Asian. I had a bottle of wine (who doesn't carry one in their car, right) in the car so I just paid the $15 corkage fee. Please note, there is only street parking. A fusion of Italian, American and Asian is this gem of a bistro. There's street parking as well as a small lot in the back of the restaurant. The waitress (not sure if also the owner) who served us was pleasant and very hospitable during our entire dining experience. She made us feel welcomed as soon as we walked in, didn't judge us when we ordered a bunch of dishes and she even brought extra napkins during the middle of our dining -- now that's service. 1. House Garden Salad (4/5) Pretty standard salad of mixed greens topped with freshly sliced mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and crunchy croutons. Have a choice of Italian or Cesar dressing. 2. Chicken Farfalle Pasta (4/5) Bow-tie-shaped Italian pasta that is sautéed with chicken breast and sun dried tomatoes in creamy marsala sauce. The noodles were al dente while the sauce was creamy and cheesy. Wish there was more chicken and tomatoes though. 3. Deviled Eggs (5/5) Perfect hard-boiled eggs that are halved and the yolks mashed and mixed with mayo to create creaminess goodness. It is seasoned with paprika, but not too much ... just enough to give it flavor without burning your mouth. Each order comes with 6 halves 4. Beef Rib Soup (5/5) A hearty broth of beef soup that's light, savory and rich in flavor without being too salty. The beef was tender. 5. Shrimp and Chicken Jambalaya (4/5) I'm a fan of cajun flavors, so ordered this soul-comforting dish. The rice was super fluffy, the chicken was slightly over-cooked, but the shrimp and andouille sausage were cooked to perfection. The sausage had the double smoked rich flavor that I oh so enjoy while the shrimp was fresh and was coated well in the cajun seasoning. Minus 1 star mainly because I felt the seasoning was not quite there ... it missing something like the extra fiery-ness - maybe more pepper or some herbally basil? I would get it again though. 6. New Zealand Lamb Chops (5/5) The lamb chops were cooked well; fairly tender and juicy. The chimichurri sauce added flavor and balanced the gaminess out. It's served with a side of mashed potatoes and carrots. 7. Linguini with Meatballs (5/5) I personally did not try this dish so I cannot write much about it. However, per my brother, he stated that it was "a good spaghetti, but what [he] really cared for was mainly the meatballs." It was a very nice experience dining here. This place has no reason to be so delicious. The ambience is classy without being too pretentious, so you don't have to feel like you're out of place wearing sweats here. Every time I bring friends here, they are absolutely amazed and delighted by the flavors. We ordered quite a few dishes today. The highlight was the Chilean Sea Bass. The chef served a massive, beautifully thick cut--which is actually the hardest to execute. If overcooked even slightly, Chilean Sea Bass becomes dry and tough. But the timing here was absolutely perfect. It had a gorgeous, golden-brown exterior, while the inside remained incredibly moist, tender, and delightfully springy. The seasoning was spot-on and never overpowering; it wasn't too salty, perfectly preserving the natural, fresh flavors of the sea. We also had the Chicken Bowtie Pasta. I typically avoid chicken dishes at restaurants because they often turn out dry and lack the rich aroma you get from beef or lamb. However, Sage's chef elevates chicken to another level. Rather than using the traditional Cantonese technique of quickly flash-frying in oil (which yields a smooth texture but sacrifices the natural meat aroma), the chef here expertly pan-sears the chicken over extremely high heat for a short time. This creates a deliciously crisp exterior that locks in all the juices and rich flavor. Tossed with perfectly cooked bowtie pasta and cheese, the result is so flavorful and well-balanced that we simply couldn't stop eating! This is a small family owned business, and Wanda made us feel right at home. She recommended that we eat family style (there were five of us) so we could try a little bit of everything. We started off with the jumbo shrimp appetizer which was fried to order. It came out hot! For the mains, we got to try: shrimp garlic mashed potatoes, chicken farfalle pasta, braised short rib, pan seared salmon, and seared sea scallops. I love that this place has photos for each of the menu items so you know exactly what you're getting. The portions here are HUGE! We were treated very well and split every dish. Unfortunately, the deviled eggs were a bit of a letdown (too sweet, not enough mustard to balance) -- certainly passible but underwhelming. But then the butternut squash soup came and it was unique and delicious...but nothing prepared us for the excellent stuffed chicken breast with its crispy outer coating and the remarkable mashed potatoes. So, overall, the latter two dishes made up for the egg issues and with the fine service I rounded 4.5 up to 5 (wish Yelp would allow people to do 1/2 star increments). Delicious! Every time we come here, this spot never disappoints. I decided to try something new this time and go with Salmon. It was a risk because many places typically overcook their salmon, but to my pleasant surprise the pan seared salmon wasn't overcooked, and was very flavorful. It sits on a bed of rice with sliced potatoes. I finished my plate so quickly I ended up eating some of my bf Cajun pasta because I was bored. The Cajun pasta has a slight kick, but nothing too crazy. Also full of flavor and had a lot of seafood! Also comes with a delicious garlic bread! Overall, a great experience. THIS is the place minus the pretension, crazy overhyped wait, and fluff. They charge reasonably because of their ingredients and their execution is wonderful. (2) Mango Salmon salad - mangos weren't overly ripe, salmon was cooked through (flaky, but tender) and the amount of greens/tomatoes and dressing was just right (3) Chilean Sea Bass - cooked to perfection with the sweet potato mash that balances out the lighter flavors and buttery texture of the fish (4) Pesto pasta with shrimp - I originally was thinking it would be generic but.... Noodles were perfectly al dente, and that pasta sauce was between creamy and fresh so loved it, the shrimp was cooked tender and not dry and offensively orange lol (5) Porkchops - omg I don't know how he did it but it was cooked to tender perfection with flavor and the sauce over mashed potatoes. The sauce wasn't trying to cover up a crime of overcooking the pork chop like a HK cafe. I thought it was amazing that it turns out there were no bones in our chops and tasted tender, balanced, and effortless. (5) Linguini with meatballs - noodles were al dente, meatballs were very tender and flavorful, the sauce wasn't balanced (not too sweet or acidic) They've been here for 12 years for a reason and I love the cozy vibes with the quality ingredients and awesome execution. My husband and I went to Sage Bistro for the first time on 5/2/2026 to celebrate my birthday. The restaurant is very clean, airconditioned with "A" rating. We got the Cajun Jambalaya Pasta (Mild), Pork Chop and Stuffed Chicken. All the dishes were very good but the pasta was EXCELLENT! Wanda was very friendly, service was great and she gave me a birthday Tiramisu which was also EXCELLENT! Wanda mentioned that the top selling entrees include: Lamb, Braised Beef, Duck, Shrimp, Cajun Jambalaya Pasta. So, we got one of the top selling entrees. The pork was so tender with some kind of sauce. And of course the portion was large. My daughter and her husband ordered Braised Beef Rib and Seared Sea Scallops. There is something screwy going on here. How could this restaurant have 4 stars when the waitress/boss that works here is so rude? Plus the restaurant was empty! Just had the worst dining experience ever. The lady that works there is extremely rude and acts like she's angry at everyone. I never rarely give 1star reviews, but this restaurant is very deserving. When we arrived she had to push some chairs together and set the table. She was slamming the tables together and moving harshly. She did not sound hospitable or nice when talking. After we got our bill, we were automatically charged a 18% gratuity for lunch. We almost double tipped because we did not know the gratuity was already charged in the bill. When we asked to change the gratuity to 15%, they said, "NO!" The lady yelled and argued with us. What kind of restaurant is this. When did gratuity become mandatory for BAD service.
