I thought this restaurant was going to be similar to a lot of the other Chinese "bistros" or "cafes" around this 626 area, but this one is really a step above, with more personable staff, with a longtime manager/owner who cares about the food and the customers. We had the seafood pasta which was very tasty. The sauce has plenty of flavor and kick, and there is a lot of fresh seafood provided, including mussels and shrimp. Also had the lamb chops, which is one of their most popular dishes, and I can see why. The lamb was cooked perfectly, soft juicy, super easy to eat. I loved that there was chimichurri sauce provided on the side and it went well with everything, including the mashed potatoes and vegetables. The food was above average. I could tell by the yelp photos that the chef might not be fully American. Seeing the server and an Asian staff coming out from kitchen confirmed that the cooking wasn't fully American taste bud. But that is the reason why it hit me very well. Honestly, whether you have American or fusion or Asian taste bud, the taste quality is better than some average American restaurants. I tried the butter squash soup, lamp chop, and bow tie pasta with chicken. I was enjoying my soup and lamp chop a lot. The pasta was pleasant to me, but it wasn't exceptionally great compared to the lamp chop. My fiancé loved the pasta though, saying that the sauce wasn't overwhelming. It is not a cheap place to come for, but it is because the food and drinks (good white wine) have quality. The wait for the entrees was a little long, even though it wasn't that busy. I believe it was the chef spending time to make sure each dish was done well, unlike the busy restaurant where chefs only follow the restaurant's recipes to make it quick and easy. I have been wanting to come here since moving to the area 4 years ago for college, and graduating seemed like the perfect occasion, as my aunts wanted to treat me to a celebratory meal on June 10th. Delightfully understated atmosphere with unique tiles throughout the decor, and we loved that we could hear each other talk and enjoy each other's company. Our server was amazing, she was so knowledgeable while being personable and extremely funny. I assume she's the cook's wife based on the other reviews - I arrived a little after my aunts, so I didn't get a full introduction since they had already secured a table and had ordered some drinks while looking over the menu. I had my eye on 3 different meat dishes - the Roasted Duck Breast, the New Zealand Lamb, and the Angus Beef Ribeye Steak - and my aunts also had each picked 1 of those, so we went family style, and it did not disappoint!! The chef knows how to cook each type of meat to perfection, and the searing pans are doing exactly what they need to be doing! The Roast Duck Breast was AMAZING as cooked to the recommended medium, with delicious crispy skin. The Angus Beef Ribeye Steak at medium rare was as tasty as it was gorgeous! And the New Zealand Lamb was PERFECTION, down to the bone. We also got the gourmet macaroni and cheese as an add-on side, since all the meals come with mashed potatoes and various veggies, and I was in heaven! As someone who used to work at the Disney Parks and frequented the steakhouses and other fine dining both here and in Orlando, Sage Bistro is giving Disney a run for its money when it comes to high-quality meat dishes! The prices reflect both the cut of the meats and the skill of preparation, with it averaging to about $50 each across the 3 of us, which is pretty reasonable for top-tier quality! The only thing I had to be careful about was that many of the dishes have mushrooms, and my throat gets itchy if I eat most mushrooms, so I had to avoid those dishes. During our meal, when I mentioned it to our server for future visits, she was great at noting which dishes could completely be modified to have no mushrooms while also being realistic about acknowledging the dishes that cannot be, which sadly includes the Braised Short Rib that sounds out of this world. But I can have the Beef Rib Soup, so I definitely want to try that next because I WILL BE BACK!!! Since you enter Sage Bistro you feel like you are at home. We were greeted by Ms. Wanda, she is so welcoming, warm and funny. The decor is simple but the place makes up in flavor. Allen (Wanda's husband) the chef, cooked for us a delicious chicken farfalle pasta and a cooked to perfection pan seared salmon served with sauteed red onions and mushrooms over rice and parmesan potatoes. The portions are quite big so we had leftovers. The food is a fusion of Italian, American and Asian. I had a bottle of wine (who doesn't carry one in their car, right) in the car so I just paid the $15 corkage fee. Please note, there is only street parking. The waitress (not sure if also the owner) who served us was pleasant and very hospitable during our entire dining experience. She made us feel welcomed as soon as we walked in, didn't judge us when we ordered a bunch of dishes and she even brought extra napkins during the middle of our dining -- now that's service. 1. House Garden Salad (4/5) Pretty standard salad of mixed greens topped with freshly sliced mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and crunchy croutons. Have a choice of Italian or Cesar dressing. 2. Chicken Farfalle Pasta (4/5) Bow-tie-shaped Italian pasta that is sautéed with chicken breast and sun dried tomatoes in creamy marsala sauce. The noodles were al dente while the sauce was creamy and cheesy. Wish there was more chicken and tomatoes though. 3. Deviled Eggs (5/5) Perfect hard-boiled eggs that are halved and the yolks mashed and mixed with mayo to create creaminess goodness. It is seasoned with paprika, but not too much ... just enough to give it flavor without burning your mouth. Each order comes with 6 halves 4. Beef Rib Soup (5/5) A hearty broth of beef soup that's light, savory and rich in flavor without being too salty. The beef was tender. 5. Shrimp and Chicken Jambalaya (4/5) I'm a fan of cajun flavors, so ordered this soul-comforting dish. The rice was super fluffy, the chicken was slightly over-cooked, but the shrimp and andouille sausage were cooked to perfection. The sausage had the double smoked rich flavor that I oh so enjoy while the shrimp was fresh and was coated well in the cajun seasoning. Minus 1 star mainly because I felt the seasoning was not quite there ... it missing something like the extra fiery-ness - maybe more pepper or some herbally basil? I would get it again though. 6. New Zealand Lamb Chops (5/5) The lamb chops were cooked well; fairly tender and juicy. The chimichurri sauce added flavor and balanced the gaminess out. It's served with a side of mashed potatoes and carrots. 7. Linguini with Meatballs (5/5) I personally did not try this dish so I cannot write much about it. However, per my brother, he stated that it was "a good spaghetti, but what [he] really cared for was mainly the meatballs." It was a very nice experience dining here. I love that this place has photos for each of the menu items so you know exactly what you're getting. The portions here are HUGE! We definitely didn't need to order 5 dishes, but we have no regrets at all. The sauce on the shrimp garlic mashed potatoes was so good. The shrimp was cooked perfectly - very bouncy. The braised short rib came on a bone and it. fell. right. off. Talk about tender!! The pan seared salmon was also cooked very well and the crispy potatoes had us fighting over it. Every time I bring friends here, they are absolutely amazed and delighted by the flavors. We ordered quite a few dishes today. The highlight was the Chilean Sea Bass. The chef served a massive, beautifully thick cut--which is actually the hardest to execute. If overcooked even slightly, Chilean Sea Bass becomes dry and tough. But the timing here was absolutely perfect. It had a gorgeous, golden-brown exterior, while the inside remained incredibly moist, tender, and delightfully springy. The seasoning was spot-on and never overpowering; it wasn't too salty, perfectly preserving the natural, fresh flavors of the sea. We also had the Chicken Bowtie Pasta. I typically avoid chicken dishes at restaurants because they often turn out dry and lack the rich aroma you get from beef or lamb. However, Sage's chef elevates chicken to another level. Rather than using the traditional Cantonese technique of quickly flash-frying in oil (which yields a smooth texture but sacrifices the natural meat aroma), the chef here expertly pan-sears the chicken over extremely high heat for a short time. This creates a deliciously crisp exterior that locks in all the juices and rich flavor. Tossed with perfectly cooked bowtie pasta and cheese, the result is so flavorful and well-balanced that we simply couldn't stop eating! I ordered the braised beef short ribs to go. While I waited I sat in this restaurant and it has a warm inviting atmosphere with smooth jazz music playing not too loud. The owners keep the place very clean and I could smell the delicious aroma as my food was being prepared. I didn't wait long and when I open my meal I was impressed with the the quality of the packaging as well as the portion size. The beef short ribs were so delicious with extra sauce poured over the rice with fresh mushrooms and peppers to complete the dish. Everything was delicious I finished all the beef and vegetables but I was so full I couldn't finish the rice. We were treated very well and split every dish. Unfortunately, the deviled eggs were a bit of a letdown (too sweet, not enough mustard to balance) -- certainly passible but underwhelming. But then the butternut squash soup came and it was unique and delicious...but nothing prepared us for the excellent stuffed chicken breast with its crispy outer coating and the remarkable mashed potatoes. Delicious! Every time we come here, this spot never disappoints. I decided to try something new this time and go with Salmon. It was a risk because many places typically overcook their salmon, but to my pleasant surprise the pan seared salmon wasn't overcooked, and was very flavorful. We got the Cajun Jambalaya Pasta (Mild), Pork Chop and Stuffed Chicken. All the dishes were very good but the pasta was EXCELLENT! There is something screwy going on here. How could this restaurant have 4 stars when the waitress/boss that works here is so rude? Plus the restaurant was empty! Just had the worst dining experience ever. The lady that works there is extremely rude and acts like she's angry at everyone. I never rarely give 1star reviews, but this restaurant is very deserving. After we got our bill, we were automatically charged a 18% gratuity for lunch. We almost double tipped because we did not know the gratuity was already charged in the bill. Owners are very friendly, food is tasty and portions are huge! It's a great place to go for a big family dinner, u won't regret it - I personally thought the stuffed chicken was good but chicken could've been moister. - Mashed potatoes were delicious. - My favorite was the pesto pasta and the cod and sweet potatoes, absolutely decadent. read more

Had dinner at this cute little restaurant last night. Service was great and food delicious. I ordered the duck breast which I don't see often on menus and it was so good, especially with the sauce it came with.
