We came in on a Sunday evening and they had told us that they had just started making Sunday all day happy hour. For drinks we ordered the Japanese Old Fashioned ($10), and a couple draft beers ($6 each), and for food we ordered the Five55 Burger ($12 for burger only) and the Pepperoni Flatbread ($17) (the only item not from the happy hour menu). The drinks were great and it was nice to spend some time down there to just chill and relax and have a couple drinks. The food was okay, I would think it's a bit pricey for what you get, but it's more to keep from drinking on an empty stomach. Our servers were great. They kept checking in on us to make sure we were doing well. They were all so nice and were quick to bring anything we requested to us. If I just want to chill and talk with some friends this is a nice place to hang out. It's not too loud in there and they even have some games to play. Came last night at 11:15pm. They close at midnight. As soon as the waiter saw us walk in, he gave us that look that he didn't want to serve us. He sat us and said last call is in 5 minutes. That's fine, we placed an order for 2 cocktails and a pitcher. He told us they are not doing pitchers because they are almost closing. Wtf? MAYRA was our server and I am so grateful for how she made the experience so enjoyable and easy to manage. We had 9 different families and accommodated separate checks. NO questions asked. I dined in today at this location and it's my third time. Xavier recommended me the burrito because he said it was good. 40 minutes later I found out that he forgot to put it in. We didn't realize that this was a hotel bar... you have to enter through the main Courtyard Mariott entrance, walk past the fancy Chinese restaurant and you'll find Five55. We both thought we got lost! I'd recommend street parking in the neighborhood as opposed to dealing with the underground hotel parking and paying. One of the servers offered us free, fresh popcorn in cute little bags, which was nice! As another reviewer mentioned, this place felt like much more of a hotel lounge than a sports bar... quiet, low energy but a nice, more upscale ambiance. We were looking for a wine bar in the area and decided to come here, but unfortunately, they were out of almost half the red wines on the menu. The food, however, was really good! We ordered the fried artichoke hearts with aioli for dipping, and the flatbread with pepperoni, burrata and hot honey. I would marry burrata cheese if it were legal to do so, and this flatbread was delicious... the bread was a buttery, fluffy, focaccia-type and with so much flavor. I'm not much of a drinker so I only ordered the short rib quesadilla except it was a more of a meat-dilla because there wasn't any cheese. Pros: Place is brand new and very nice, ambiance is a little quiet, and low energy. The cocktails are very good as well as their happy hour. It's never super busy so that's nice because you know you'll be able to get a place to sit. Cons: Terrible to watch sports games! Not enough tvs, some of the TVs kept dropping signal during TNF, no joke literally right at the worst moment the tv would go to black and start loading. They really need to figure that glitch out. Another time the tv timed out and turned off. The wings weren't great, Fries bland, onion rings super burnt, and the burger used to be better. Not sure what happened. The beer selection isn't the major brand beers, just alot of micro brew brands. Also, the TV volume isn't loud so can really hear the games announcers at all. The staff is nice and does their best, but they're used of it being slow so when it was really busy because of TNF they just couldn't keep up. Very sweet imo and definitely watered down as it was stirred with lots of crushed ice instead of an ice cube. -10 piece wings two flavors $15: lemon pepper and Caribbean. The Caribbean is a mango habanero sauce that's very sweet and not spicy at all which reminded me of orange chicken. Pass on this one for me. The lemon pepper was great and it was dry style. I would recommend this flavor for these juicy wings. Non HH wing price was $17. 3.4/5 -The burger only $10 is a smashed burger so the patty is on the thinner side and was slightly dry. The fixings and bun were good. 3.2/5 -Onion rings $7. Hard and a bit dry with really thick coating (from frozen I assume). Huge pass, we barely ate them. 1/5. I was staying at the Courtyard Marriot and saw an ad for Five55's happy hour in the hotel's elevator. I found Five55 located in the same establishment as the hotel, and it was a short walk across the lobby to the other side of the building. Happy hour went from 4-6pm, so I headed over to the restaurant around 4:30pm. There were a few folks at the bar countertop, but the main dining area was empty. I snagged a high chair with the other patrons. Bar staff was great. There were two bartenders holding down the fort, and they were both friendly and attentive. The bussers were really nice too. I ordered a Strawberry Crush off the happy hour menu but asked to modify the spirit with gin. I enjoyed the cocktail, which was fruity and sweet. I did end up getting a second cocktail, a Clover Club, post-happy hour later in the evening for a night cap. That was made well too. I had their smashed cheeseburger, which was highly satisfying. I thought it was going to come with fries since I've seen it on an online happy hour menu from Five55, but the burger came on its own. This is advertised as a bar and restaurant, and we sat over by the bar. The night we came, there was a large event with really loud kids. I didn't mind at all but was just surprised to see kids near the bar. We ordered Garlic Parmesan Truffle Fries and Short Rib Quesadillas. The quesadillas looked dry but I was surprised they tasted really good. The meat was actually juicy. It was served with small sides of guacamole and pico de gallo.
