Just went here randomly on Sat night and I actually loved it! +spacious bar with plenty of seatings +they had a dj and he was playing 90s / 2000 hip hop and r&bs and it was my jammmmm. Our group was singing and dancing along to it all night +nice bouncer / security guys; I kept catching them singing along and jammin to the music +bartender was nice; took care of us all night +they had my group's favorite tequila at the moment, which is lalo! She told us to go to the bar when we were ready to order. Ordered the Elysian Space Dust $8. The cup was dirty! It had pink lipstick on the rim! The Elysian Space Dust was little too bitter for our taste. The Classic Old Fashion $13 was very disappointing. The rim had little black spots and many area was chipped. We liked that they used Maker's Mark, however, it initially tasted like they forgot the sugar, then we realized they didn't mix the drink and all the sugar was sitting at the bottom. Very disappointing. We also had the Michelada $11, the rim was covered with tajin, so we couldn't tell how dirty the cup was. Not a fan, had about 1/5 before deciding it was a lost cause. We had an assigned server and at first she was nice but then later in the evening, I saw her serving water in a cup, so I asked her for some water as well and then she blatantly told me with a serious look that they ran out and I would have to pay for a bottle of water. minutes later... guess what? She brought out a cup with water for another colleague of mine, and I was just upset over it. Came here on a Friday night after bar hopping with my homegirl, ( first time here btw ) and overall, the vibe at 28 West was really good. The music was on point; a mix of Mexican music and hip-hop/twerk music. And the dance floor energy was fun, chill, and lively. Everyone inside seemed cool, and the atmosphere was definitely a good time. However, I did want to mention an unfortunate experience that affected my night. Earlier in the evening, I made the mistake of drinking before eating, and after a lot of dancing, my stomach did not agree with me. I ended up getting sick while trying to make it to the bathroom. I completely understand that throwing up in a venue is not ideal, and I truly was apologetic about it. That said the way the manager/owner handled the situation felt unnecessarily rude and aggressive. I was being rushed, spoken to harshly, and made to feel like I had committed a crime rather than just having a human moment. A little compassion and calmer communication would have gone a long way. Besides interaction, I genuinely liked the place, the music, the crowd, and the overall vibe were great, and I would've had an amazing time if not for that experience. Terrible vibe. I gave one star just because it was the lowest you could give. We came on a Friday night and wanted just a couple of drinks. They had three bartenders, two girls and one guy. It took nearly 30 minutes to get served. We were waiting for that long at the bar area just for some white claws. I'm not a bartender, but last I checked, it doesn't take mixing or any effort to give someone a white claw especially when you're paying 3x the usual price for a white claw. We bought a bucket of about 5 white claws and the bucket came with some ice so I guess they had to work and put ice in a bucket, so we were charged $35 for that. We paid in cash a $50 and she did not give us any change. We waited another half hour there for the change and she REFUSED to give us the change. Never coming back here. Bar security checks ladies' purses and does a full body screen on men. Bar is in the center of the patio area, with lots of alcohol options to choose from (basically a full bar). You have option to keep your tab open also. My friend hated their rum and coke (unsure how you can screw it up), but I loved my midori sour. WOW. How is this place real. My friends and I saw a lively outdoor bar from the parking lot and thought, where is that place? It was 28 West! We were trying to go to a ramen spot in the same mall on a Sunday, around 6PM. They told us we had a 40 minute wait, so instead of waiting outside the restaurant, we just came to 28 West. Best choice ever!! As soon as we got seated a friendly waitress gave us menus. We asked her what food is good and she said all of the items are good. We were pretty skeptical but all 3 items we ordered were honestly amazing. Taquitos, bomb! Shrimp and fish tacos both bomb too. The best thing about the place was the vibes.
