Cool bar for sports, especially the Raiders. The quality of food is not the same. Seems to have took a hit during Covid.

Happy hour is amazing here. Prices were really good, servers were incredible, and the food was actually really good. I was surprised at the prices of the tacos $1.75 and it was actually so tasty I ordered more. They also have drink specials which were really cool. My friends and I came here to watch the Lakers game. They were playing against the GSW so the game was pretty hyped and everyone in the bar was rooting for the Lakers. The food took a while to come but we understand since it was a busy and rowdy night. We ordered the wings platter, the meat lover pizza, and carne asada fries. I think they just heat up frozen food. Everything is so rubbery and bland. Happy hour well drinks are diluted with ice up to the rim, even when asked easy on the ice. My first time visiting 28 west, was fun and interesting! My cousin and I didn't know what to expect, since it was our first time at this place. We met Stefanie, she was friendly, helpful, Entertaining with jokes and most of all, very cute. Overall: We are teachers, so we wanted to go out the Sunday night of our 3-Day weekend for MLK. This was our 1st time here, and it was decent for a Sunday. They played Hip-Hop, a bit Latin and top 40. I requested songs two different times, and the DJ considered my suggestions and played the artist and the song, which was great. Although we didn't get bottles service, we got there early enough to have a waitress take our drinks All night. One thing I also liked is the free photo booth. Drinks: The drinks were very tasty and a bit strong. I got Grey Goose all night with different juices, and all of them were pretty good. This was the first time time that I've ever been charged for a cup of juice for my DD, but it's understandable. Environment: the restroom was very clean and the soap seemed high quality. This is my number one go to spot when I am in Alhambra! This place is a sports bar, and has a great set up and vibe. This is a great place to come watch sporting events, it always gets a good crowd going. My favorite thing about this place is the food. I've had a couple different things here, and everything has been good. They have a good taco Tuesday here, all of the tacos are good. I've tried carne asada, pork, and chicken street tacos. If you get the taco meal, which comes with 3 tacos, you can get 1 of each type of taco, also comes with chips and salsa, the red salsa is my fav. My favorite taco was the pork, so tender and good. I also tried the crunchy beef taco, which was pretty greasy, but very flavorful. The cheese balls baked or fried (which i don't think are on the menu) are really yummy. They taste like a cheesy ball of doughy bread. The bacon wrapped shrimp with a side of chipotle sauce was good, and pretty self explanatory. Can you ever really go wrong with bacon? If you are in the mood to be a little healthy, try the kale salad or the green day pizza, which pretty much have the same ingredients (kale and bacon). The salad also comes with chicken which is really flavorful and cherry tomatoes. I had a bite of the Cuban sandwich, which comes with pork, pickle, ham, swiss cheese, mustard on a roll and comes with fries, so good! The Cookie Monster dessert was so good. It is a baked cookie that comes in a skillet with vanilla ice cream on top. Perfect way to end the meal. I got to try the pink kitty martini, it was your perfect girlie drink, sweet and pink. Service has been a bit slow here in the past. My favorite server here is Hinna. She is super sweet, fast, and never gets my order wrong. Great hang out spot, and good food. We were nearby when the Dodgers were playing an important game against the Padres to try and gain some separation at the top of the NL West. A Dodgers pennant flew outside the doors of 28 West, an open invitation - or divine signage - to someone looking for a place to kick back and watch the game over some good food, so we decided to give this place a shot. The interior of this bar is huge! An entire lounge area with a giant projector showing the game sat at the front, while dozens of individual booths and tables lined the inside of this dark establishment. There are TVs everywhere, so you're almost guaranteed a seat with a view. However, even though you may get a good view, you may not get the best quality picture. It may be because of the Spectrum feed, but there were times when the picture was pixelated and fuzzy. On the food front, the buffalo wings we got were okay. The sauce was surprisingly spicy, and I was definitely not prepared for it. The mozzarella sticks were also little more than okay. Nothing really stood out in terms of flavor, but they weren't bad. The customer service was pretty good - they came by to check on us pretty often, and kept our drinks filled. I have only tried two items off the happy hour menu. The cheese bread which is a bunch of smaller churrascaria cheese rolls. They serve them with tomato sauce, I believe, but I always ask for some garlic aioli, which I think goes better. I also have tried the chicken and beef empanadas and found them sorely lacking for spice or flavor. Way, way too bland. I also notice the menu since this became a bar and grill instead of Boteca is that they seem to have cobbled a menu stealing items from all the other establishments. The cheese bread seems to come from Alondra Hot Wings. They have a Hangover burger like Dog Haus. They have items similar to 38 Degrees. Etc. No real personal identity. Then again, I don't see a lot of people eating when I am there for happy hour. The music is the worst aspect. When I first went they played 70's punk, 80's hardcore, and super cool music. Now it's all 311, Green Day, and other 90's one hit wonders like SR-71. Really unbearable. I thought 38 Degrees had the worst music around. But the new music programmers have them beat. We were there last night around 11:30pm. The 2 security guardls told us my friend can't wear hoodie, ok , so my friend took the hoodie off. My friend has a white t- shirt with Chicago letter design on the shirt. The security guard rejected us again. He said no white T-shirt was allowed to get in. Right before we leave, I took a picture and they wave at us ,which was very unappropriated. I felt that we were unwelcome here. So we went to next door The Rabbit Hole, which we had no problem to get in and had a blast there. Today we revisited and talked to the manager regarding to their dress code. Came here last weekend and It was not too bad but don't think I will be back. There was a pretty good crowd, not over crowded but still very limited space to just chill we had to venture off to a corner near the bushes. They had a pretty organized process to order drinks never had to wait too long to order or get our drinks. The drinks were super strong and not that tasty. Came in here on a rainy Thursday before having dinner down the street. Happy to see the "Happy Hour" sign sitting out front. We walked in and were surprised by how spacious the bar is. I love this bar! The food is GREAT. So delicious. I've tried the wings, which are so juicy. Lemon pepper the best you've ever tried, and buffalo. So good. The street tacos are so good too. I liked the outdoor dining situation that they had set up! It was very calming underneath all the trees and it was such a nice day, so there was a slight cool breeze. Our waiter was the only guy that was working, so the poor thing was running back and forth from the kitchen in order to put orders in. Please be patient, guys! It's hard for everyone right now. My boyfriend and I got seated right away and we ended up ordering some drinks. I think that it's really cool that they have a bar area set up outside. I honestly have been loving outdoor dining lately; I just honestly think that the fresh air and being outside feels really good. We did end up ordering food to go with our drinks, and we decided on getting the guacamole. Kind of basic, but wow were we surprised when it came out! I'm not sure if it's made in house or if it comes from a can, but oh my god, the guacamole was so creamy and well done! We were both surprised how good it was.
