    G G-Moe's Cheesesteak
    Jocelyn T.

Went on a Monday night and they were so busy!! We ordered the chopped cheese and g-moes but unfortunately they gave us two chopped cheese. We called and they were super nice about it and gave us the g-moes plus the godfather which we really appreciated it! As for the sandwiches, we thought the chopped cheese was pretty average (3/5), the bread got filling ratio was off and there could have been a bit more flavor but it does the job! The g-moes was really what stood out to us (4/5. The flavors blended really nicely together and the filling to bread ratio was better. The onions and mushrooms worked well with it and every bite was savory, garlic aioli paired well too! The godfather was mid (3/5), pretty standard, needs red onions or something but wouldn't go back for it. Overall I'd get the g-moes again and try their other hot sandwiches! I appreciate that they took care of us for the wrong order!

This spot eats and so will you! We ordered online to avoid waiting, not too sure how fast they are with orders. There was a bit of a line of 5-7 people on a Friday afternoon around 12pm. Legendary Chopped Cheese -sooo good! Everything meshed well together. If you're feeling a juicy beef sandwich that tastes so much like a classic burger with a twist this one is it. All America Cheesesteak -perfect for those picky kiddos since it's pretty plain other than caramelized onions that blends well with the beef. Chicken & Waffle -a must try, the waffle has the prefect chew. If they had waffle on its own on the menu I would order a few. Chicken was a bit dry but I loved that there isn't much of a batter and mostly deep fried crispy chicken skin which I personally like.

Since this location of Monty's is located right off the 10 freeway, I pass by it often. For a long time I planned to stop by to try their food. I like the orange color scheme and clean, simple decor. It was very clean and felt spacious inside. There were two people working inside when I went and both greeted me right upon entry. They were friendly and we had a nice chat while I waited or the food. They have signs inside saying one can order ahead on their website and pick up the food. I only noticed the fried chicken and waffle menu. While it is not part of my usual diet, it was a great treat during a very busy week at work. The sizzling sound of the fryer whet my appetite as I waited for the food. To me the food appeared to be higher quality than other chicken and waffle places in town. The chicken was crispy and not overly heavily battered or breaded. The waffle was soft and sweet with both confectioner's sugar on it and maple syrup, as well as hot sauce, on the side. They threw in an extra small piece on top of my order. Nice touch. I only noticed the chicken and waffle menu when I walked in because it was up front, but their sandwich menu looked delicious and I will definitely be back to try it.

Alhambra is a unique melting pot of different cuisine from different places but I found a hidden gem in a shopping center in Alhambra just block a away from the 10 Freeway called Monty's Alhambra it's a sandwich shop serving cold and hot sandwich and other delicious delights. When I walk in I was greeted by owner of the restaurant then I look at their menu board. They have unique sandwiches their version of Philly cheesesteak including chicken version they also their version of a Chicago Italian beef. A classic patty melt also and other classic a French dip is Monty's French dip is better than Philippe the Original or Cole's French dip next I need to try it. Monty's serve chicken & Waffles their own version on Belgian waffles served with maple syrup & hot sauce. Also served breakfast but only three items on the menu. Also they cold sandwiches like the Italian Godfather and the Midwick When I was looking at the menu it was hard to pick I decided to the Turkey Hoagie changing my mind then I told the owner what he recommended he told the Granada their version of Philly cheesesteak with chicken I decided to order it. It took a while because everything is made fresh and also made to order and the owner brought my sandwich to my table he was so nice. I unwrapped my sandwich it sell really nice release the warm hot stream smell wonderful. The sandwich was cut in half I decided spead the sandwich it looks great. The Granada has chicken, grilled onions, banana peppers, bacon, creamy ranch, pepper jack on a Hoagie roll. A very popular sandwich at Monty's. I took a bite the sandwich I say wow incredible, juicy, pack with multiple flavors in a sandwich. The ingredients combine together in one incredible sandwich. The chicken is well season with flavor and cook with grilled onions and rhe banana peppers with pepper jack cheese bring flavor like sweet and sour in a good term in flavor but creamy ranch add other layer of flavors can you mind can handle multiple layers of flavor I yes. Overall I enjoy the sandwich very much would thanks the owner for the suggestion to try the Granada thank you.

This place popped up on Yelp for me once and the reviews for the chicken and waffles were pretty good. I'm not going to lie, I had very low expectations based on the look of the place, the location and the fact I'm usually disappointed when it comes to fried chicken. Well, I finally tried this place and I was pleasantly surprised. The reviews were actually accurate! The fried chicken had a flavorful and crunchy skin and the chicken itself was juicy. Also, it wasn't oily! The waffle was also good; however, I took it to go so it was a little soft by the time I got home - it tasted good though and that's what matters. If you're looking for some good comfort food and this place is close to you, definitely give it a try. I will definitely be back. This restaurant is located in a little strip mall by the entrance to the 10 Fwy. There' is ample parking but it was pretty full around 6 p.m. Cars were coming in and out so just wait a few minutes and you should be able to score a spot. There were a few tables to dine in if that's your preference.

3.8 stars I wasn't sure what to have for lunch, but this restaurant has been on my list for some time, so I decided to stop by. I ordered the Legendary Chopped Cheese ($12) and wasn't disappointed! The sandwich is a hefty boy and very cheesy and greasy. I think it's perfect for winter when everyone needs a bit more fat to feel warm! Anyways, it had grilled onions, cheddar, lettuce, and tomatoes. I'm happy to report that they are generous with the portion. The only thing I wasn't a big fan of was the bread. It's heavy, soaks all the juices a little too well, and had kind of a cake-like texture. The bread wasn't for me, but I liked everything else. Service was the friendly, order-at-the-counter type. There is free parking on site, but it does get packed at night. I'll be back to try their philly cheesesteaks and chicken & waffles in the future.

Gave Monty's a second try and I will be a returning customer. Shout out to the manager Henry for reaching out and Moises for the amazing food recommendations and service. I got the Poblano Cheesesteak, garlic fries, and Italian Beef with sides of jalapeno aioli. The Italian beef comes with steak, grilled onions, pepperoncini, banana peppers, calabrian chiles on a hoagie roll with a side of au jus broth. Personally I thought the peppers inside the sandwich really made the beef shine. Not sure if it really went well with the au jus broth due to the acidity of the pickles but the broth itself was thick and beefy. The Poblano came steak, grilled onions, poblano peppers, white american cheese on a hoagie roll. A great tip given to us was to mix the cheese so add a stringy cheese like Swiss to get the two cheese textures. The poblano was nicely charred with a nice pepper flavor. Personally however I think the plain All-American Cheesesteak is still the best with the gooey melty cheese and meat when you're really just craving comfort and hearty food. The garlic fried can be a skip but I do appreciate the heafty amount of garlic they put on there.

My boyfriend is a cheap date. He is a simple guy who loves sandwiches. We came to Monty's on a weekend to see what the hype is all about. They are located in a small strip retail area with a private lot. I don't see people stumbling here unless they were intentionally looking for it. The shop was quaint but full of passion and love from their staff. They were so friendly and welcoming. Henry was especially nice, providing his recommendations based on you preference. My boyfriend had the Legendary Chopped Cheese ($12) and I had the French Dip ($14). We shared the Waffle Fries ($6.50) and they provided complimentary pickles and peppers. Food is made to order so be patient. You order and pay at the cashier, then seat yourself. They had 4 tables for 2 and 1 table for 4. The shop is really small. We were really lucky to get seating. I would feel stressed if I came with a larger group but we actually saw many families come here. When our food was ready, Henry called us over to have us pick which pickles and sauces we wanted with our order, and then he kindly offered to take it to our table. He's so nice! I thought the sandwiches were really big and affordable for their portion size. My boyfriend liked his chopped cheese, but did not enjoy it as much as the one we had in New York. My French dip tasted okay when it was dipped in the au jus, but the flavors reminded me more of a cheesesteak than a French dip. Great service, large portions, reasonable pricing. I would consider coming back to try Henry's favorite, the Granada, on a future visit. Until next time.

This place is tucked away in a little shopping complex, right off the freeway. However, it shouldn't deter you from visiting it. They're sandwiches are top notch, and they have a large selection. Staff is friendly, they took the time to go over the menu and help me select something that would interest me. I do need to go back because they have breakfast items, hot and cold sandwiches and they are known for their chicken. It's small but has some seating if you're not in a rush. This place gets busy and I see a lot of delivery people come through when I was waiting for my food. Wait wasn't long, but everything is made to order. When I got my food, it was hot and ready to go. Will come back to try more items!

    Legendary Chopped Cheese

tl;dr the bodega-inspired menu is hearty, affordable, and a clear step up from its sandwich chain peers Just months into opening, Monty's Alhambra already is turning heads. Owner and Alhambra-native Henry Arayasirikul originally engineered a platform for ghost kitchens (including Monty's precursor pop-up, Monty's Chicken and Waffles) during COVID, before debuting his brick-and-mortar store early in 2025. Now, Monty's has earned a feature in Around Alhambra, and it's become a Yelp darling. Monty's shares a strip mall just off the 10 with a Papa John's and a 7-Eleven. The interior is clean but barebones. The whitewashed walls are left undecorated, so the orange font on the permanent menu and deli counter really pops. Cushioned metal chairs are pushed up against a handful of trim laminate tables. The sizzle and clang of the griddle overwhelms the soft hum of 90s R&B. My partner and I arrived for weekday dinner, and we contended with plenty of takeout customers. The Legendary Chopped Cheese was a (slightly) elevated take on the New York bodega classic; in essence, it featured premium hamburger meat and the remaining standard burger fixings on a hoagie roll. Meanwhile, the Italian Godfather was generously loaded with cold cuts, but the flavor profile lacked a vinegary punch. The Bakers Kneaded sandwich rolls were more soft and chewy than crispy or sturdy. Surprisingly, the highlights were the rich Garlic Aioli and the sweet-and-spicy assorted pickles. Meanwhile, the Creamy Ranch, while buttermilky, was otherwise one-dimensional. Our total was $30, and the portion size felt generous by LA standards. The menu pairs a modest ceiling with a high floor, and the takeout-centric fare is approachable and hearty. Overall, Monty's is a fair deal for a mostly standard meal.

A small joint with great attitude. Had the G-Moes sandwich and the Philly cheese steaks. They were so good. Small seating area but a nice pace and friendly people. They also have garlic fries! Next time!

Monty's Favorite #2 and Legendary Chopped Cheese with chips
    Keely N.

First time trying Monty's and it was great! Ordered the Legendary chopped cheese with no onions, and my bf and i kept saying it reminded us of In n Out burgers; honestly delicious and we devoured it all lol. The Monty's #2 had such a fluffy waffle with 3 super crispy pieces of chicken; i would've liked the chicken to be bigger but it was a good amount with the one waffle. Restaurant AC wasn't working but it was clean and wait time for food wasn't long at all! Workers were so kind and friendly. They gave us the chips for free since it was our first time here! Would definitely return and eat here again :))

Exploring a bit for lunch, Easy to miss this place it's right next to Papa johns pizza. Right before the freeway. The staff is nice, greeted at the door they took my name for my order. They have a chill relaxing music playing. I ordered 2 meals: Monty's # 2 The fried chicken was nice and juicy, the waffle was ok. Im not familiar with the syrup it came with but that really made the waffle. Now the chicken pieces were unproportional I had 3 different sizes. I felt kinda scammed when I opened up the box to those chicken pieces All American cheese steak. Practically meat and cheese very wet. It was made fresh and the bread was already soggy. Overall it's a decent place, Id come back for the chicken and waffles. The price point is decent.

Not even 30 minutes later the whole place was packed. I ordered the Benedict Pancakes ($22) and the seasonal Biscuit souffle pancakes ($18). I also tried the Tonkatsu Curry ($16). For a drink I got the pot of Peach Momo Tea ($6). My benedict pancakes came out first. The souffle pancakes and the tonkatsu curry came out at the same time 30 minutes later. The benedicts weren't bad, but I probably wouldn't get them again. The yolk was solid and not runny and the pancakes were just normal flat pancakes, and they were kind of dry. The tonkotsu and the Japanese pancakes were way better. Both were very flavorful and nice and hot. For the tea pots you also get refills, so we got a lot to drink with that. For a two-person table, it was definitely too small to hold everything that we ordered. Luckily by the time the curry and the pancakes came out I was already finished with my benedict pancakes and was able to give it to them to clear out to make room for the other dishes. Service was good, the wait for the food was long but they were still attentive enough to get us what we needed. Once you get your food they try to get you out as quickly as possible since the longer it went the longer the wait outside was for a table. Overall it was a nice breakfast/brunch experience. It is a bit pricey, but some dishes are better than others. I would come back either for the Japanese pancakes or the curry. The tea was great too. I would probably skip the eggs benedict next time though.

Not sure why I was expecting to speak Chinese to order but surprisingly staff taking our order spoke perfect English with no accent. They were quite welcoming and patient while we looked through the entire menu before ordering to-go. Hot Sweet Soybean Milk - good warm temperature and comforting but not the best I've had. Tasted quite watered down. Convenient to grab if you're already here for food. Hot Sweet Soybean Tofu -really good and easy to eat. I personally like the peanuts in it, peanuts soaked up the sweet ginger syrup. Tofu is silky. They do ask if peanuts are ok when you order, you can definitely opt out if you don't like texture in your sweet tofu. Bake Sesame Bread with Beef (added pickles)- really good, sesame bread is more of a flaky pastry rather than a fluffy bun. Expect tons of crumbs but really good. Beef is tender and not dry at all. Pickles added a ton of texture another depth; sweet, salty, bit of tang. Fan Tuan always good, I usually opt to add both eggs and pickles. But if I'm not feeling too hungry I could go without egg. Green Onion Pastry -pastry is flaky and buttery. Filling was a bit saltier than I expected but good. Ham& Radish Pastry - pastry was also flaky and buttery. Filling wasn't my favorite, radish was quite tough and fibrous. Sweet Baked Sesame Pastry -perfect for kids, filling is just sugar and some sort of flour they mix with it. Surprisingly not too sweet.

[Parking]: Easy and free strip mall parking on a Sunday morning. [Ordering]: Most customers come here for takeout despite this restaurant having dine-in tables. Our party ordered takeout in person and waited approximately 15 minutes. The lady cashier (owner?) was a bit intense but efficient. She spoke both fluent English and Mandarin. [Menu]: Stick with Yelp's top highlighted items - Salty Fan Tuan (Stuffed Sticky Rice Roll), Pan Fried Green Onion Pancake, Sweet Soybean Milk, and Radish Cake. For Salty Fan Tuan, I highly recommend maxing out all add-ons including paying extra for purple rice, egg, and pickles (Taiwanese pickled mustard greens). The same goes for pan-fried green onion pancake and adding egg. For an authentic Taiwanese breakfast experience, order Taiwanese donut (you tiao) and baked sesame bread, but expect a somewhat boring flavor profile if you decide to order either Taiwanese donut (you tiao) or baked sesame bread. *** Hot Sweet Soybean Milk (16 oz small - $2.95): Somehow the drink tasted more like unsweetened soybean milk. It was piping hot so our party had to wait 30+ minutes before drinking it. Salty Fan Tuan ($5.50 + Purple Rice $0.45 + Add Eggs & Pickles aka Taiwanese pickled mustard greens $2.00): Excellent salty fan tuan and very satisfying. Pan Fried Green Onion Pancake ($5.50 + Add Eggs $2): A savory pancake and I enjoyed this order. Ham & radish pastry ($2.25): It was cold and tasted alright - not an item I would recommend. *** Still a solid 3.5-star on food after more than a decade since my last review. It is no famous Fuhang Soy Milk from Taipei, but this is the next best experience you will get for Taiwanese breakfast given the limited Taiwanese breakfast options in Southern California.

Plenty of parking right in front of the inn. Upon arrival we were seated at their dining room. Old quaint inn. We tried the Lavendar orange grey and fruit garden teas. The fruit garden was our favorite. Their tier consisted of berries, plate of desserts and a tier of sandwiches. Also served is a basket of scones along with a platter of deviled eggs. The deviled eggs and the curry chicken sandwhich were my favorite but all the sandwiches were pretty good. Price is a bit high compared to other afternoon teas but we were here for a special occasion. Staff was very nice. She would come and check on us or if we needed something and knocked was very responsive.

Such an amazing find!!…read more My daughter has been to Mari Vees before and was craving their chicken ceasar salad wrap. She asked if we can go so we went around 1pm on a Saturday before her eye appt. Cute family owned shop and the wait wasn't long at all. We waited no more than 10 mins. I ordered the impossible smash burger and the hubby got the country fried steak with a banana walnut pancake. I wish I asked for extra vanilla in my vanilla latte but the art... perfection. Would come back again. Especially to try the chicken and waffles :)

They serve your classic American breakfast fare like waffles and pancakes but also serve other breakfast foods like chilaquiles, huevos rancheros, and loco moco. I ordered the champ ($25) which was a massive burger containing beef, cheddar, bacon, pastrami, and avocado. Note that it also comes with a lot of mustard; fortunately I didn't mind but it was a surprising amount if you're not a fan of it. I also tried and liked the breakfast burrito ($20). They have both indoor and outdoor seating, and there's some street parking just outside. I don't know if I was just hungry but everything on the menu looked good so I'll have to come by to try their other offerings.
