We ordered online, and the food was ready at exactly the right time, which was great! For our to-go order, they included a little baggie with all the classic add-ons: lime, cilantro, and onion. I definitely prefer adding these myself, since some places go way too heavy on the onion and cilantro, and you can barely taste the birria. The parking lot is shared, but at least when we went, it was quiet, and we were able to find a parking space with no issues. We took our food to go, but the inside of the restaurant was small and nicely decorated, with a few tables and a self-serve condiment bar. The birria was delicious! My partner and I were craving birria tacos, so we decided to give this place a try. Our first impression was that it was a cozy, intimate restaurant tucked away in a small shopping plaza. There's a small indoor dining area along with a few tables outside. I probably wouldn't recommend coming with a party larger than four, as the seating is fairly limited and the tables aren't really set up to accommodate bigger groups. One thing I immediately appreciated was that the tacos are served plain. Personally, I prefer that over having them pre-loaded with onions and cilantro. Everyone has their own preference--some people like extra onions, others want more cilantro, and some don't want either. Having a self-serve condiment bar stocked with utensils, onions, cilantro, lemons, limes, and other toppings lets you customize your tacos exactly how you like them. The menu is straightforward without being overwhelming, making it easy to decide what to order. Pricing was another pleasant surprise. Most places I've been charge $20 or more for a birria plate, and often the rice and beans take up most of the plate while the birria feels like an afterthought. That definitely wasn't the case here. For $16, I received a generous portion of tender birria absolutely swimming in consommé--exactly what I was hoping for. The rice and beans were a bit smaller than I expected, but honestly, I didn't mind. I'd much rather have the focus be on the meat than fill up on sides, and this place definitely delivers where it counts. I also ordered the marzipan agua fresca, and it was incredible. It tasted just like the candy without being overly sweet. My partner ordered the birria tacos, and they were fantastic. I was initially surprised they didn't come with a side of consommé, but after taking a bite, it made sense. The meat was so juicy that you could literally see the flavorful juices dripping out of the taco. That said, I still would've ordered a side of consommé because I love dunking my tacos until they're practically swimming in it. Will I be back? Absolutely. This has easily become one of the best-kept secrets I've found for birria. Between the quality, generous portions, and reasonable prices, it's a place I'll happily return to. Solid little spot on Potrero Heights, right across from the cemetery. I was craving birria tacos, and my son kept asking me for noodles. I saw the menu and saw birria ramen, so off we went! Service was great, very friendly. I ordered the birria ramen for him and the quesabirria tacos plate for myself. It comes only with rice and beans so I ordered a small consome on the side. My son couldn't finish his ramen, but I completely cleared my plate. The consome seemed a bit watered down, I know that may sound dumb since it's broth, but something about it was a bit off. Also, the salsa could've had more kick and it too seemed a bit watery... but those are minor nitpicks. It's a decent spot, if you're in the mood for beef birria. While doing another trusty Yelp search, I saw La Birria House. So I went to try it. We ordered their Birria plate, taco plate (I got my with crispy tacos), mulita, soft taco and a side of beans. We also ordered a large aqua Fresca, which they rotate. It was creamy strawberry that day. It was delicious! The Birria was tender. The plates come with beans and rice. It was a good amount of food. For the taco plate, you have a choice of soft or crispy. You can also get them with cheese. The service was good and they were quick. There is a couple of tables inside but because it is a small place most people looked like they ordered to go. Parking is easy. read more

Came here on a rainy day, it was soo yummy! The food was hot and fresh while the soup for the birria was not over powering. Their salsa was like a medium spice in terms of spiciness but the tenderness of the beef was gummable, firm enough to move but soft enough to gum, definitely perfect for someone with tooth pain! The Ramen was good at base but if you want more spice, I would add crushed pepper flakes to spice it up! The service was optimal, straight to the point but patient enough to not feel rushed in our indecision for what to stuff our faces with. Space was kinda small, only two tables inside with a bar top for four set up, two patio tables for two so definitely order to go if you've got a larger party than 4, but overall it was fairly clean. I did cut my knuckle on the light switch in the bathroom so if you are a person who doesn't like to touch light switches with parts of your hands that are potentially going to touch food, I recommend using a paper towel to hit the light switch, the button recesses a bit and causes the faceplate edge to come out further as you press in, I was rushing to eat after washing my hands and did a quick knuckle into the light switch to turn it off and came out with blood on my knuckle, so be wary of that as well, not their fault by any means. Just my own insatiable appetite getting the better of me . All in all, good place to eat good food! read more

We found La Birria House in Monterey Park completely by accident--my dad pulled into the wrong plaza while picking up our dogs from the groomers. As soon as he saw the sign saying Birria Jalisco Style, he insisted we had to try it. Best accident ever! Omg came here to pick up 2 of their family meals (includes 24 in each a split of 12 Birria Tacos and 12 Birria Quesadilla, onions, Cilantro & lemon, 6 drinks of either soda cans or Fresca, salsa and chips and 1 consume) it was fantastic, ny whole youth group at church loved it and ate it all up. The place is clean and just a nice hole in the wall but delicious food and fresca!!!
