I'd ordered through Uber Eats from both the York Blvd. and Fair Oaks locations, but I had never eaten in one of the restaurants. Today I decided to try the Fair Oaks one in-house. It did not disappoint. I went when they opened at 11:00 on a Sunday morning. The door was open with a sign saying to come inside and be seated. The space is pleasant. I love the black and yellow color scheme. The big black and white portrait of James Dean is cool. There is a choice of seating ~ two different counters, tables, booths, and outdoor tables. Suits every mood. I sat in a booth, which was comfy. I decided to order the Blaze Ramen combo, medium hot with chashu and added bamboo shoots, and a 4-piece chicken karaage appetizer. I had ordered that before on Uber Eats and knew that I liked it. I loved the way the chili paste for the broth was set on top of the pork. I decided to use half of it at first and test how spicy it was. When I realized how good the flavor was and how on pointe the spice level was, I added it all to the broth. The chashu was thick and tender. The noodles were perfectly al dente. The only miss was the bamboo shoots. Fortunately they were on the side. They were oily and kind of musty tasting, not at all like the slightly crispy, umami, salty ones I've had before (even from there). *they kindly took the bamboo shoots off the bill I love the shape of the bowls AND the ramen ladles that the ramen is served with. At first I thought they were weird, but they are perfect. I want one! The napkins are thick and the disposable chopsticks are more than adequate. All in all it was a successful trip. I'll be back. *sorry, no photos, I dug in quickly read more

It was my first time visiting Silverlake Ramen in Pasadena and I had a great dining experience! It was easy to find a parking and was happy it's located in the same plaza as a HUGE Trader Joe's! The restaurant is clean and actually not as busy as I thought it would be. The last time I went to the Silverlake Ramen in Silverlake, that place was packed! I ordered the Garlic Truffle Ramen and that was a 6/10. I was expecting it to be more flavorful with more intense, richer broth. The price was average at about $18/bowl of ramen. You can also order a combo for $20 (bowl of ramen and a small appetizer). My staff was attentive and checked on our table consistently. It felt awkward as we were leaving because another staff just watched us walked out the door but didn't bother to say bye. The total for two bowls of ramen, an iced Green Tea, and a large beer with 20% tips came out to about $68. Highly recommended if you're ever craving for a bowl of ramen after a shopping trip at Trader Joe's! :) read more

It's the first rainy day in months, and this place was packed. There was a team of three out front and the speed and efficiency was mind blowing. They kept up with a seemingly impossible flow of customers in the front door, and food coming from the kitchen. Food was 10/10 as always, but the service was truly impressive to watch. read more

Came here to try their Cajun Mazemen only to learned that it has been discontinued. Darn! End up getting their fried gyoza, pork belly bowl and garlic truffle ramen with pork. They definitely know their pork here! All the pork here in its various form is amazingly melting and so flavorful!! The pickled onions perfectly balanced the richness of the pork belly! The ramen broth tasted more mushroom than garlic truffle, but all good since we're big fans of mushroom. Love that the ramen came with lots of kale and mushroom too! Gyoza looked a bit teeth-breaking fried, but was actually soft, and surprisingly tasty with the spicy mayo dip! Really cute, clean place. Loved the wall decor with the skateboards! Our lady server was great! Really knowledgeable and attentive, and made every effort to check on every table in a timely manner (it got full fast!). Overall a very pleasant dinner experience! read more

I really wanted to like this place as it has a good menu with ramen, sushi rolls and good appetizers. I came here for lunch and found the service to be friendly. I especially liked that they didn't rush us with the bill and we could sit comfortably even after we were done eating. However, the food was mediocre, nothing to rave about. The rolls here are fresh and nice and I would recommend sticking to that. Both times I've had the ramen (take out once and dine in this week), the broth lacked any flavor and it is a wasted dish. Plenty of parking in the strip mall and street too. read more

Ordered for take-out at this location and everything was nicely packaged, broth separated from the noodles/toppings. Order was ready on time and staff assisting was friendly! We ordered the The Blaze Ramen with Pork: Spicy creamy pork broth, bean sprouts, spinach, green onion, seaweed, and seasoned egg. Nice creamy flavor with a hint of spice (could have been spicier for me), simple toppings but all fresh, and the egg was only slightly overcooked (probably de to it being takeout). The portion size was a good amount and it was easily shared by two of us. The noodles had a bite to them which my partner liked and I noodles had a bite to them. A solid ramen shop and I can see why they have locations all over LA! read more

Silverlake has proven to be consistently good food and with great service. I have gotten the pork bowl, chicken karage bowl, and both the tonkatsu ramens. They never fail to be packed with flavor and a rich thick broth. The service is SO quick and fast I waited about 10 mins or less for all my food to come out. The servers were very attentive and never had to ask twice or struggle to get someone's attention. The blaze medium is one of the best spicy ramens I have had. I highly recommend getting the black garlic oil it adds a TON of flavor. The ambiance is very minimal only 9-10 tables and a bar. Although it's not the biggest restaurant I never have to wait long for a table and this place is open fairly late. I recommend adding Silverlake ramen to your list of ramens to try. read more

I loved the clean restaurant named for the neighboring Silverlake area serving a quality ramen noodle in South Pasadena for about three years. There are both tables, bar seating and outside dining tables and could possibly fill up the entire inside on a good day. Our lunch came remarkably fast, and the taste was rich with flavor and sushi freshly served. The service was nice and friendly with staff checking on us during our dining experience. I would vouch for this ramen shop, which is both convenient and fast for lunch and probably for dinner too! read more

We ordered the curry bowl, spicy tonkotsu, and spicy Shoyu ramen. The curry bowl didn't really taste like curry to me but more like a mushroom sauce or the sauce in loco moco, but still really good. My husband ordered the spicy tonkotsu and it was really good! I ended up dumping my ramen in his broth when he was done. I ordered the spicy shoyu which I realllllly was not a fan of..... I usually love shoyu and shio ramens more, but it was not it for me today. For some reason their spicy shoyu ramen had like a lemony vinegar taste to it? Which in my opinion doesn't go on ramen so it killed it for me. $18 for a bowl of bad tasting ramen put me in a sour mood also... I think maybe just order the regular shoyu ramen, and order spicy sauce on the side if you need the kick. read more

I absolutely love this fairly new location in South Pasadena. It's located in a plaza with Trader Joe's and many other stores. Parking is never an issue for me here. There is outdoor seating, a good amount of bar seating inside as well as seats. The restaurant itself felt clean and the customer service is top notch. I always love my ramen broth super hot, and they nailed it here. The Burbank location never seems to get it right. I ordered the Chicken 5/5 - Always crispy and juicy. The spicy Aoli sauce is a must dip! Classic Tonkatsu Ramen - 5/5 My only wish is that they made the ramen bowls in smaller sizes, since sometimes a regular bowl is a lot! I usually only eat half the portion of ramen. Please add smaller ramen bowls to your menu! Lol Overall, I love this fairly new location and will continue to come here over the other locations! Enjoy! read more

Great service, easy parking, yummy ramen, with good prices. I look forward to going back again and again.

I recently discovered that I like ramen!! This was my first experience and it was great. The service is fast and friendly. Nice hang out spot for lunch. My only issue is the pork in the spicy ramen. I don't care for the cooked pork with a little crisp on it then dumped into a hot bowl of soup. For me, texturally, it's not for me. However without the pork and extra corn and a lot of tapatio (I bring my own) it's a top notch place. I've been about 5 times already and can't get enough of it. read more

The experience was off to a rough start but as the time went on, the service started to pick up. Maybe it's because we opted to sit at the counter, but we enjoyed watching how FOH/BOH were continuously turning around dish after dish. Tsukemen -- Thick noodles topped with your choice of protein. I opted for pork so I got two thick slices oozing with juice. It is served with a side of rich, creamy, concentrated both. While the broth has subtle hints of dashi, I'd say it leans more towards a base (if you're looking for a broth that has a powerful dashi flavor, then check out Tsujita). Tip: Ask for hot water, to be added to your dipping broth, once you're done with your noodles so you can drink it as soup. read more

Service: On Point. Seating: Fantastic Food: Absolutely Marvelous Drink: Spot on Even paying the bill was easy and to the point. I even was able to get a fork for my wife without a hassle. The Classic ramen is so good at this restaurant-the pork falls apart and adds a richness to the bowl that so far is unmatched in many other traditional spots. Another Silverlake Ramen, another delicious dinner! My daughter loves Silverlake Ramen and once we saw that this spot opened near our new home we were so excited to try it out. This location is in a huge plaza in South Pas. sharing the parking lot with the newest Mega sized Trader Joes so parking can get hectic. Luckily we came for dinner this weekend around 5 so it wasn't too difficult. This Silverlake Ramen has the same trendy decor with neon lights and signage as other locations although it is smaller. They have indoor and patio seating with excellent customer service! For dinner we ordered two Shoyu Ramens for my daughter and I and my husband ordered the pork rice bowl. Everything was delicious, maybe even better than we have had before at other locations. The Ramen was tasty, not o early salted, and had the perfect soft boiled egg and juicy chicken pieces on top. My husband's rice bowl was also scrumptious, well cooked, and they allowed him to sub half rice half salad. We will definitely be back! read more

Finally had a chance to try out this place. It's a decent ramen house to satisfy those late night cravings for savory broth and noodles. I got the Black Oil Truffle Ramen (B+) and it hit the spot. Granted it's not Little Tokyo caliber, it's good enough for the SGV foodies. I also tried the Pork Belly Bao (B) which was just ok. The pork was a bit on the tougher side. I like my belly to melt in my mouth and not have to chew much. Would definitely give this place another whirl and try their other items. Solid place for a quick ramen fix. Hope they add sashimi side dishes like ikura and salmon to their future menu! It would definitely enhance the ramen experience. Plenty of parking up front and the service was quick and prompt. The store was clean and the servers passed the vibe check. read more

It was fine. Ordered once via delivery app and was a bit let down at the lack of flavor but decided to try dine-in to see if it that was better. Of course, enjoying a meal using real utensils and dishes (as opposed to disposable ware) adds to the experience. Popped in to this location on a recent cold night, craving ramen. It was close to home and I was hungry so this surely fit the bill. Nice menu, they have a lot of options. Ramen, ramen combo (ramen + appetizer), buns, rice bowls. I got the Blaze combo with karaage (Japanese style fried chicken) for a little more than $20. Service was friendly...(we had three different staff members tend to us). Casual environment. Food came out quickly. I can see how the dining room could get busy on certain nights as it's in a very convenient spot. Ramen itself was good but broth was missing some depth of flavor. Served in a very uniquely-shaped bowl. Took a bit long to get our check, had to flag down our server. Other than that, it was satisfying but... read more

Love love love silverlake ramen, and was thrilled to know that they have a spot closer to me in south Pasadena!! The food, as usual, was delicious! I got the spicy tonkutso ramen, which never disappoints. It's not that spicy, really more flavorful than spicy. Their Tonkutso is just so so rich and delicious! I also ALWAYS get the pork bun for my app. Another incredibly flavorful choice. I didn't get to take a photo, but the sauce for the broccolini is yummy! Great option, if you want to add some greens to your meal! My sincerest apologies for not getting the names of the nice lady and nice gentleman who took our orders and served my friend and I today. I just wanted to say thank you for being so kind and attentive to us and all the other patrons in the restaurant. It got pretty packed for lunch and they kept everyone happy! I really liked how clean the restaurant was too! I really can't say that for all the restaurants I've ever eaten at, but this one was kept sparkling clean! Definitely a plus in my book. ANOTHER huge plus is the ample FREE parking at this plaza. Now that I know of this location, I may never go to any others this one just has so many wins! I will be back soon! Decided to give this location a try, so 2nd time visiting within one week and comparing locations. I previously went to the Cerritos location and really enjoyed the broth. It was thick and creamy and nicely flavored. The difference at this location was that the broth was a bit thinner but still tasty. Again, I ordered the blazing extra spicy ramen with pork. Everything was nice and tasty. It was not as spicy as the other location, but maybe they just didn't add enough of the spicy sauce. The pork was also just as tasty and again a nice portion. There's plenty of parking. They have a small outdoor patio (perfect to bring the pet in your life, so I will return with the pooch). The interior decor and feel of the place were chill. Service was quick and friendly. Overall, I'm happy again with my Ramen meal. read more

The restaurant is located in a plaza with a large parking lot. Very easy to find parking. I tried the creamy broccolini, saboro bowl and classic ramen. I think what was most special was the creamy broccolini. I never had anything like it anywhere else. It's a bit crunch in the tips ans then has this creamy tasty dressing. The saboro bowl has this really soft scrambled egg. That was a delight. The ramen soup tasted a bit oilier than I'm used to but was flavorful. The staff was very nice. The wait wasn't too long. Easily accessible. I would come again :) read more

Surprisingly good. We thought it would be just one of another westernized ramen restaurants, but we were wrong. I really enjoyed their garlic truffle broth and pork belly, so flavorful. But I do wish their ramen could have a more slight chew, it was a bit soft for my liking. We also had their spicy tuna cut roll, spicy tuna bowl, and impossible meat mapo tofu (not your typical mapo tofu bowl) All were decent, but I probably would not get the mapo tofu bowl again. It was a cloudy cold rainyish day so perfect for ramen! Plenty of parking since it's in the same structure as the old Vons (RIP) on Fair Oaks. It was a little busy when we got there around 1:30pm but we still managed to snag a booth in the back. It's def for a trendy vibe inside but glad I wore a sweater cuz it was pretty cold inside. My bf and I both ordered the combo with the Classic Tonkotsu, he got pork belly and I got chicken. We also shared the chicken karaage and gyoza. The tonkotsu broth was very thick, pretty flavorful. I liked my bf's pork better cuz it was smokier and had a better char but I like that the chicken was lean and meaty. Chicken karaage was nice and crispy as was the gyoza. Service was a little lacking. They were clearly a little understaffed. I had ordered a side of corn that never came so I just decided to ask if they would take off the charge and it took like 10 minutes to resolve cuz the servers didn't have authority (apparently shift leader called in sick that day). They were friendly enough but overwhelmed, we didn't get much attention. We liked the combo deal and while not the best ramen either of us has had, it was still quite good and since it's close by and convenient, we'll prob be back. read more

Silverlake Ramen just opened recently in South Pasadena on Fair Oaks. Showed up about half hour before closing and was almost expecting poor service since it was close to closing. Pleasantly surprised with smiling faces and friendly service. There was only one other table full and the staff were clearly cleaning and preparing to close for the evening. We were served with a sweet waitress who took our orders with a smile. Food was okay. Tasty but was lacking depth of flavor. Of all things, the creamy broccolini was our favorite of the night. We would keep coming back just for that. I'm sure we'll be back to give SLR another shot. Especially when they start serving alcohol. read more
