Tonkotsu Ramen
Francisco M.

There's loads of structure parking nearby and street parking. This location can get packed with a line building outside. Inside has decent amount of seating for the size. The staff are good and helpful. I got the tonkatsu ramen and it was just okay. The broth could've been richer. The meat cuts were fatty. The wood early mushrooms were okay. I did wish there were more noodles. This location could be worth a chance to try but unfortunately there's other nearby ramen locations that better ramens.

Chashu Tsukemen

Parking is super convenient--just across the street for $1 for 90 minutes! Tsujita definitely serves up one of the better tsukemens I've had in SoCal. I love the chashu tsukemen, especially the squeeze of lime; it adds a perfect touch of acidity to cut through the richness of the pork broth. The jammy egg is also a win. That said, the broth cooled down a bit too quickly for me, which made it harder to fully enjoy the meal from start to finish. Still, overall it's a solid 8.5/10 in my book. Service was quick and efficient as we were seated and served in no time!

Went here to celebrate a friend's birthday and honestly, it was worth the drive! From the appetizers all the way to dessert. I ordered the deluxe tonkatsu ramen, and I loved how the broth wasn't overpowering. It was simple, smooth, and super filling without feeling too heavy. Normally, I'd ask for some garlic with tonkatsu, but this one was perfectly balanced as is. I finished the whole bowl! The chashu was thinly sliced, which made it easy to enjoy without being overwhelming. My friends went for the tsukemen, and I thought it was great that they even included instructions on how to eat it properly it was also really flavorful. We also tried the takoyaki and karaage, and both were freshly made. The karaage especially stood out!! it wasn't your typical version. I'm not sure what sauce it was coated with, but it was delicious. Kinda like soy! But it wasn't! I usually don't like fried, flour-heavy dishes, but I'd order this again in a heartbeat. For dessert, the pudding instantly reminded me of the matcha pudding at Ichiran but honestly, this one was even better. It looked small, but it was rich enough to share. Same with the shaved ice topped with brown sugar and mascarpone cream absolute chef's kiss! The cream and syrup blended perfectly, and it was the sweetest way to end the meal. The regular one was good for 3 pax!! Idky we ordered 2. We were overly full and had food coma in a good way. This really felt authentic! Great service and nice place to chill.

7/5/25 - Naruto collab.

We found the time for some Tsujita! I'd heard about their ramen and the Tsukemen that's on the menu. The location is easy to fine since the parking structure is right across the restaurant. We came by on weekend and it wasn't too packed. We were seated right away. Apparently, they are doing a Naruto collaboration until August at all locations. They have merch and limited menu items. We decide to get a salmon bowl and the Large Tsukemen to share. We'd never tried a dip ramen before, but wow it's an appetizing experience. The broth is very rich and savory and the thick noodles pair perfectly. We finished the large no problem! The portion of the large noodle is more than generous. The Tsukemen is a must try if you've never had dip ramen before. As for salmon bowl, it was solid and very fresh. The bowl is presented very nicely. Overall, Tsujita is a great ramen spot that I wish we tried sooner. We'd happily come by again. Thanks Tsujita!

Yuzu beer

Nice ramen place in old town Pasadena. Small but relaxing place. Servers are friendly and helpful. The ramen bowls we got have a nice broth and good ingredients. A little pricy but definitely very tasty. Also got the cha sui bowl which was a good size. The cha sui was tender and good flavor. Definitely get the Yuzu beer! I could down a bunch of those! A nice and refreshing flavor. Not too fruity or sweet. A lighter beer but such good clean and crisp flavor.

5 stars for their stellar char siu (roasted pork) and shaved ice. The char siu seriously tastes like the most tender melt-in-your-mouth beef brisket I had in Denver, Colorado. It's that good. Their shaved ice dethroned my favorite Korean snow ice, the black sugar syrup adding a whole new dimension. I don't much care for Japanese ramen as I can make it just as good at home (seriously) but their Tsukemen dipping broth is most delicious. At $25 it's not inexpensive, but the generous thick cuts of char siu justify the high price,...I think. The karaage chicken is good (just not Tenkatori-good), but I wish they still had the chicken wings on the menu.

Came here on a Friday night around 8:30pm and the wait wasn't too long! The service was great here. The staff were really friendly! My group got two tonkatsu deluxe ramen w/ soup, and one reg tsukemen, and the deluxe tsukemen. To me the tonkatsu ramen noodle soup were a bit heavy tasting. The broth got a bit overwhelming that I wasn't able to finish my last two bites. The noodles were very al dente. The tsukemens were good, but also got overwhelming. Both were a 3/5 for me personally. And we also got an order of the takoyaki and that one was really good! I am glad I finally got to check this place off my bucket list tho! I would recommend to ramen likers since this spot is a popular spot!

Killer noodle Tokyo Style (With Soup)
Angela Y.

Tsujita truly never disappoints. Love that the quality is always consistent across all their location, so I know what to expect. We ordered the deluxe tsukemen and the Tokyo style killer noodles with soup level 3 spicy. Both were amazing. The tsukemen noodles had the perfect amount of bite. The broth was packed with flavor. The killer noodles were heavy and pungent but in the best way possible. The mala wasn't as strong as I expected, which was great and didn't overpower the other flavors. We arrived at 12 on a Saturday and waited quite a while in line, since it's a small restaurant. Didn't get our food until 12:50. But the food was worth the wait

The noodles were such a pleasure to eat! The TTT was very fun to eat. I liked that the cheese added a creaminess to the spicy broth. I found this unique. The Miso Tonkotsu was a blend of both clean and junky flavors. I would say, if you had the chance, try out the TTT Ramen. Service was very fast. TTT Ramen (Naruto Collaboration): 5/5 Miso Tonkatsu: 4/5

Yuzu beer - a must try!
Eliza O.

First off - try the Yuzu beer. Seriously, it's so good (and I'm not a big beer drinker). The tonkatsu ramen had excellent broth and adding a little of their spicy radish(?) that's on the table made it just right. For a bigger kick, the spicy tonkatsu delivers very well and differently. I'm glad I tried both. Also got a char sui bowl appetizer (complete with egg) and the meat was tender and tasty. Service is friendly and fast - both in serving food and clearing tables. It's not a huge place, but it doesn't feel crowded, and the decor is hip. Now I need to come back and try the killer noodles that they're known for.

Charsiu tacos

When the sun goes away, the wild children of the night come out and play. What people probably don't realize nowadays is that this place turns into a speakeasy Thursday through Saturday, 9pm to 1am. The night lights turn on to illuminate the space. They play various energetic Japanese music in the background. The space isn't enormous, but they can still accommodate for large groups. Their drinks currently start at $12, and their food is pretty awesome for a speakeasy. My favorite so far are the Yuzu beer and charsiu tacos. Here's the most important step to even show up and enter: Someone will ask you for the secret password or phrase. The only way you can find out is to DM their after-dark IG page. It's NOT their main business account, but there's a link on that profile that leads to the correct IG page to message. Without this answer, the place is closed to you, unfortunately. So if you don't want to delay, message them for the code prior to entering. Parking: There is a structure directly across the street. As with others in Pasadena, $1 for first 2 hours, $2 per hour afterwards, $12 max. Otherwise, there are metered street spots that may be free after 8pm. This is a fairly new feature and concept for them, so I would highly recommend it, especially since drinks aren't nearly as expensive at other places in the area.

Spicy Ajitama Tsukemen

Charming Ramen place located in old town. This place does not take reservations. So First come first serve! I enjoy the ramen and the inviting atmosphere there. Inside decor is clean, bright and cozy. -The tonkotsu broth is amazing. So yummy. Get the deluxe version as their chashu is outstanding. Not too meaty or fatty. - The tsukemen is also fun to have. It is cold noodles and warm broth served in separate bowls. The noodles are thicker and chewy. Note that the spicy taukemen dipping sauce is no joke- rich and spicy 10/10. - The vegan ramen has dried tomatoes, green onion and big ball of finely minced onion. I am disappointed though that the Vegan ramen is oily with no vegetables other than what is stated. Service is quick, attentive and friendly. Street parking or covered structure parking near by. School house parking is a good choice. First two hours $1 and each additional hour $2.

Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen

Located in old town Pasadena and across from miniso is Tsujita Artisan Noodle. Great food and great service. Came for lunch and tried the spicy tonkatsu ramen. It was perfectly cooked and flavored. They are also preparing to open their after dark speakeasy and I'm excited for that. Highly recommend and I look forward to coming back for lunch again and the speakeasy experience.

The space itself looked lively, active, and welcoming, which made me want to come back and actually sit down and dine in next time. I can't speak for them, but I will say, if you order the tsukemen and find that you want more dipping broth, that will be an extra charge. Order a regular bowl of ramen if you do not plan to dip the brothless noodles into the broth for each bite. BF and I both tried the spicy tuna bowl ($7.95), chashu bowl ($8.95), and tonkotsu ramen ($15.95). The bowls are a little smaller than the ramen bowls and are a great option if you want a light meal without feeling super full. The tonkotsu ramen had a slightly rich broth that was flavorful and a decent portion of noodles. We opted not to order the ramen with the egg since we were also trying the rice bowls. The three items were more than enough for the two of us and a good variety of food. Parking here is horrible at the street level, so head downstairs for the two levels of underground parking.

Ambiance is super cute, love the little flags over the sushi/shabu bar and the art on the walls adds to the Japanese restaurant feel. The aroma when you walk in is mouthwatering (I was really hungry) but it doesn't smell fishy like some sushi places can. Staff is unbelievably great, super friendly and helpful if you have any questions about the menu or want recommendations. Don't be afraid to ask what the MP is on omakase, they totally work with what you're looking to spend or based on how many pieces of sushi you want to eat. Now for the real reason to visit Osawa: the food is absolutely amazing!!! Fresh, tasty, perfectly portioned. From the shishito peppers appetizer to the sushi, sashimi, hand rolls, and shabu; I cannot recommend this place enough! They have plenty of sake options to pair with your meal as well as beer or specialty cocktails if that's your preference. They offer to explain your order when it arrives which is great for those newer to sushi or just trying something different. Seriously, some of those fish practically melt in your mouth. I personally haven't ordered any rolls yet but they absolutely look delicious. If you're looking for a good sushi date spot, this. is. it. It's also good for a small group, maybe up to five or so before you feel cramped. Shabu is seated at the bar and their meats and veggie are delicious and fresh, enhanced by the tasty broth. After more than a year away, I decided to give Osawa another try on May 8, 2026. Unfortunately, the experience confirmed why I had stopped coming. Around 9:02 p.m., my waiter came by to ask for last orders. I ordered chicken karaage. This is a simple dish that usually comes out in about 4 to 5 minutes. For whatever reason, the order did not arrive until around 9:26 p.m. -- almost 25 minutes later. It seemed obvious that the order had been forgotten. When the karaage finally arrived, it looked hastily sauced. Several parts of the chicken were unsauced, which is not how the dish was normally served in the past. Given the delay and the apparent mishandling, I did not touch the dish. A Japanese male manager wearing glasses then came over. He recognized me, and I explained that I had not been back for more than a year because of the food poisoning incident from fish in 2025. Instead of responding seriously, the manager smiled and giggled slightly, then launched into an irrelevant conversation about his connections in the Japanese food industry in Old Town Pasadena. When he asked why I had not touched the chicken, I explained the almost 30-minute delay and the problems with the dish. Rather than comping the item or offering a real apology, the manager asked whether I still wanted to eat it or would prefer to cancel it. He then ended the conversation by suggesting that I come in during weekday lunch for the $18 lunch specials. That response was bizarre and tone deaf. I did not return after a food poisoning incident to hear a sales pitch about lunch specials. I returned as a longtime customer giving Osawa another chance. Osawa's way of doing business has changed a lot. I've seen better customer service at Erewhon.
