I used to come to noodle world during my college days in 2000 and since they closed their restaurant in Pasadena, I found they have it in San Marino and decided to come here for late lunch. The menu is still similar and the pricing is definitely unbeatable. For a bowl of noodle soup with pork and veggies, you can share it with 2 people and it's only $15. The fried tofu and pad Thai are still good as well. Definitely still Noodle World that I know in 2000. I wish they would open one in Inland Empire!

This has been one of my favorite restaurants for years. I used to go to their San Gabriel location, and I'm very glad that this one opened up closer to me. Plus, this restaurant is definitely not as crowded as the San Gabriel one, so service is always prompt and quick. The food is amazing; my favorite dishes are either the seafood pho or the charbroiled pork chop. The seafood pho comes with mussels, shrimp, and squid, which a lot of other restaurants do not offer. The charbroiled pork is always perfectly cooked and the marinade is the perfect mix of savory and sweet. There is a lot of seating available in the restaurant, especially during lunch time when they are not as busy. Parking is also pretty easy since there's a lot of spaces out front. Overall, this restaurant is both delicious and nostalgic. I will definitely continue coming here!

3. Fried Chicken Wings

The place is clean and right off Huntington drive in San Marino. The service is as quick as the meal you order- ramen is quicker than chicken or fried rice, etc. The fried rice was good but it needed more flavor as did the chow mein. The fried chicken and rice was a perfect dish, a definite must order.

So so good would recommend it if you are sick our new to go soup restaurant Amazing!

mango sticky rice

The hainam fried chicken rice is tasty, it's better than the one in Valley Blvd. The sticky rice mango is very delicious. The place is nicer too than the one in Valley. Thai service is great as usual. My only complaint is they don't have normal panang curry or normal coconut curry soup. They only have strange milk base soup, or if you want to modify the other noodle soup to make it more normal (e.g tom kha, change to beef or change to noodle), you have to pay more.

Food was super tasty! Service super quick and friendly. Pretty simple interior. I miss the booth seating! Regardless, sitting by the window is always a pleasure :)

They are always the BEST! So this was our first time here in Pasadena location, my group was not aware of their store hours so we came 30 mins before closing (sorry!) but we got what we all wanted!!! VERY VERY VERY DELICIOUS! As always, we normally go to their Alhambra location but since we were around the area and craved for noodles - we went and tried here and YES! of course, they did not disappoint. The service was super fast! At first we were apprehensive and compared right away with their other place Alhambra fav location - in here the light was dim, not a lot of people eating... (later we found out it is because they are closing lol!) - so yeah, all your apprehensions will go away as soon as you received their flash service, good food and great staff! Try their pork barbeque its the most delicious for me and I think all their food are good for 2! Enjoy my shared pics!

Chicken with a honey glaze sauce that's really good

Great option for noodles. We typically go to the one on Valley but on this day, we were closer to this one. The flavors are great. We got the Pad Thai. Pad See Ew and Chicken dish. The honey glaze is delicious that comes with the chicken Parking: Street parking but should be no problem with plenty of space. Overall: Will return for their noodles and drinks.

seafood pad thai

i had been coming to noodle world for probably 15-17 years , alhambra location. they opened this san marino a while back and i always like the food, ambiance, service. i dont know what happened here but their food quality and service has taken a nose dive in the past 2-3 years. inflation? sure, lack of business? sure, but the fastest way to combat it is to ensure you have good taste food and consistency. i stopped by for lunch trying my fav pad see ew and gosh it was so salty as if the chef just poured a whole bottle of soy sauce to darken the color to make it look tastier. couldnt you please taste it first or have some consistency in the food you serve. asked for house chili, waitress gave me small plastic cup.. come on. i understand inflation is eating the profit but the food price has increased by 60% since covid, im going to give you a tip, could you please give me a bit more? i was quite disappointed w that and i didnt even bother to ask for more. honestly if im the waiter, id give the customer much more to get more tip and to make them happy and make the rest. busier. i hope the owner can read this review and improve these items especially the food quality as i sense "lack of care" from the chef. feel bad for the waiters though because theyre not going to make enough tips if the food doesnt improve.

It's 7:20pm and they've run out of rice. No fried rice orders or any orders that include rice. So weird they close at 8pm.

Both were very refreshing, and I really loved the sauce on the bakka salmon in combination with the mint leaves. Since I'm a huge seafood lover, I ordered the Thai royal curry with lobster tail, lime steamed Chilean sea bass and the royal crown fried rice. This was my first time trying curry and I found it delicious, I'd love to visit Star Leaf again specifically for this dish. I really enjoyed the texture of the fish roe on top of the fried rice - I've never had something like this before. I also ordered the truffle wok seared noodles with beef (I liked the mushrooms in this dish). For dessert, I had the Vietnamese coffee flan and the pink mekong. I loved the presentation of the pink Mekong, and the various fruits were yummy. As for the atmosphere, it was very cozy and I took a lot of nice photos in the front of the restaurant by the pond. This restaurant would be perfect for a romantic date night or a lunch with the girls. The service was great - everything was very timely and detail-oriented. Everyone was kind and attentive, I felt very welcome.

I was able to find metered parking on the street; not sure why but I didn't need to pay that day! Upon arriving, we were fortunate that there was no wait time and got seated right away. Their menu was quite extensive so we took some time to browse before we ordered. They had a main menu and also a special menu. We pointed out some allergies to the staff and he helped us work around it. The orders came out quickly and he checked in on us frequently to see if we were okay. Great service! Bakka Wild Salmon - This salmon had a lot of things going on for it, in a good way! The combination of flavors felt very refreshing, especially on a hot day. The lime and basil played a big part there. Crispy Short Rib with Lime - Even initially before coming here, this was the dish that caught our attention. I will admit the portion size was a bit smaller than I expected and was even skeptical when it came out. However, without a doubt, this was the highlight of the visit. As someone that loves savory foods, this really hit the spot. The burst of flavors settles in right away. Truffle Wok Seared Noodles - We wanted to pick this noodle dish as a balance to the protein dishes. It did its job but it tasted okay. Not something that stood out. Slow-Drip Vietnam Coffee Flan - I liked the caramel that was layered on the flan, it was crunchy and added a nice texture. It was a nice presentation but tasted okay. Thai Tea - This was my personal drink. It was a standard Thai tea but came with ice cream on top. It was not too sweet but didn't stand out compared to other items. Strawberry Pandan Lemonade - This was my girlfriend's drink. I had a small sip here but found it was refreshing and not too sweet. However, I didn't really get any pandan flavor, mainly strawberry. When it all comes together, it was a good experience. The interior of the story is more dimly lit and felt like a romantic night dinner, despite being the middle of the day. The dishes had a balance of standard and hidden gems. Everything was more than sufficient for two people to share. Service was great and very attentive. Will come back for the Crispy Short Ribs! American Express is accepted here.

It seemed quite popular, so we decided to give it a try. To start, we ordered the Bali Chilaquiles (Asian-style nachos). They came out pretty quickly and were absolutely delicious! Highly recommend those if you go. Unfortunately, the rest of our experience completely went downhill. We also ordered the Passion Orange Guava French Toast, but it never arrived. While we were sitting there waiting, three different hosts came by to check if we were still waiting for something. After a long 30-minute wait, we just couldn't wait any longer and decided to cancel it. When we told our server to cancel the French toast and just bring us the check, he suddenly rushed out with the French toast immediately. It was obvious it had been sitting around because it wasn't fresh or hot. We asked for a to-go box, but the biggest shock came when we looked at the bill, they had already automatically included a 20% tip. Even though the nachos were amazing, the terrible service wait time and the automatic gratuity for a party of two left a really bad taste in my mouth. I won't be coming back.

The summer wraps are largely lettuce and Thai mint - I prefer having a bit more carrot and cuke in them, but I'm not the boss. The spinach peanut with tofu had epic spinach and tasty tofu. The Chinese broccoli in the Pad See Ew was nice and crisp. I guess there is parking in the lot in the back of the store. Seems to be marked for specific stores.
