I was so hungry that I forgot to take pictures. Staff is helpful and the food was so good. Yelp said the most popular item was Carnitas Ramen. My friends got sesame ramen and the miso ramen. Everybody wiped their plates clean. Not that their spicy isn't very spicy but there's enough condiments on the table to get it to where you need it. There is a small parking lot which makes this spot even more appealing. The Michoacána is next door to get yummy ice cream and other treats. read more

I almost tripped over so many cracks & pot holes, watch out! It is a small shop, which can possibly see less than 20 people. There are tables and chairs and counter seating that faces the street.. Hubby ordered the spicy miso ramen & spicy tuna roll while I got the tonkutsu ramen and baked salmon roll. It was ready in minutes. Everything was so flavorful & delicious. Hubby said (he's not easily impressed) that "it's the best tasting ramen I've ever had " Both sushi rolls were so good!! I like that there's not too much rice to fish ratio was to my liking. I visited Nakazo for their Las Carnitas ramen. While it's in a small plaza, finding parking wasn't too difficult. The entrance / window door is lightly covered with a noren which looked out of place but felt very right in where it was located (function over form). My friends and I were greeted upon entering, and ordering is "at the counter" - which we later learned. Seating is easy to find, but note that it is quite cramped inside if it gets busy. The Las Carnitas ramen hit like fusion to me, and it was impressive in blending flavors of las carnitas and what I expected of a tasty bowl of ramen. The noodles were a great texture, and the meat was well flavored. The broth was also the right thickness and had that lightly fatty flavor. There were small bits of jalapenos which added a bit of a kick, and it was more noticeable towards the end. Whether it was the sour Admittedly, the hardest part of the visit was probably getting out of the parking lot, since it's such a sharp turn out towards the freeway. read more

Incredibly underrated ramen spot. I came here twice and both times, the food exceeded my expectations. The absolute must try is their Las Carnitas ramen, which has strong flavors of Mexican cuisine: onions, radish, carnitas, cilantro, lime. You'd be surprised how well the two distinct cuisines mesh together. The ramen's texture is perfectly cooked al dente, and the creamy broth with Mexican flavors is just so good! The carnitas is perfectly charred and goes really well with the broth. The karage is pretty good too, but the real star is the carnitas ramen. Service is fast-food style where you walk up to the counter and order/pay. Staff is very nice, and I really do hope this place stays in business (not that they don't have business) but I think it's in a challenging area. Not exactly in the best neighborhood. The past two times I've been, they had a decent amount of customers come through. Seating is self seating (fast food style) but they do clean up after you are done. The restaurant is in a shared plaza on the corner with michocan, Monty's, papa John's, smoke shop, and 7-11. Parking is shared with the rest of the plaza, and you can typically find a spot. With all this cold/wet/chilly weather, happy to come back and enjoy some delicious Ramen. I ordered the Kid's Ramen, the bowl, surprisingly, seemed to be just as big as their regular ramen. Small little place near the freeway with decent ramen. I've seen this place off the freeway for years but never tried it until now. I ordered the Tonkatsu ramen; food took like 10 minutes to prep. They seem to have a pretty small kitchen in the back, so the wait was not too bad considering. The ramen had a nice texture, more on the chewy side though. The ramen had half an egg, 2 pieces of pork, onions, bean sprouts, and sesame seeds - pretty typical toppings for a ramen shop. I prefer slightly softer ramen, and the pork was a little bit dry. The egg was cooked nicely, and the soup had a nice rich flavor and was pretty filling. The place is pretty small, with a few small tables and then a taller bar-type seating area off to the side. We just came here for the first time tonight for our daughter's 12 birthday. She got the Spam Masubi which she said was REALLY good, and the kid's ramen which was delish. Was feeling like ramen and was in the area, so decided to check this place out after looking at the menu on Yelp. I mean, with a culture combo called "Las Carnitas Ramen", how could I not try greatness from two worlds? The restaurant is in a little almost strip mall ish area. Parking wasn't hard to find, so was able to get in quick. It also isn't set up like a more traditional ramen restaurant, as here you go up and place your order at the register and the food will be delivered to you as it is prepared. The Chicken Chasu Bowl comes with a teriyaki chicken with red ginger and green onions over rice. Chicken was cooked well and the ginger added a nice flavor to it. The tonkatsu Ramen was ok, felt the broth could use some more flavor. The carnitas ramen was nice, I really enjoyed it. The meat, itself, had a nice crispiness on the outside while soft and most inside. It also has radishes, oregano, cilantro and serrano peppers along with the usual ramen items like soft boiled egg, all in a chili broth. It was such an interesting combination, combining the two cultural did, and it actually worked. It could have been a little more spicy, but it was still really good. Overall, definitely stop by if you're looking for ramen, and if you want to experience something new with the carnitas ramen. It is totally worth it read more

When you walk in, you order at the counter and then take a seat. Staff is super friendly! Came here on a Saturday at 1pm and it wasn't too busy. Small space but maximizes seating. We got 3 items. Tonkatsu ramen, pork chasu bowl, and karaage appetizer. The tonkatsu ramen was good, broth was flavorful - would get it again to hit that ramen craving. The chasu bowl is the star for me. I loved how there was so much chasu - portion was good and sauce was delicious. The karaage was okay - I think the batter was a little lacking, it wasn't crispy enough for us. We always end up ordering the following (note - prices via Postmates 3/2024) Spicy Miso Ramen - $16.50 House tonkotsu broth with spicy miso, ramen noodle, pork chashu, 1/2 soft egg, bean sprouts, green onion, corn and chili paste -My usual. It's a classic spicy miso with a rich tonkotsu broth. The noodles/toppings + soup are packaged separately when you order to go and so my noodles never feel too soggy. The spicy miso has a nice kick to it, and I love how this ramen includes all these diff toppings! The chashu is also good thicker slices (as opposed to skimpy super thin slices from other restaurants) mixed with lean and fatty meat. Las Carnitas Ramen - $16.00 Spicy house tonkotshu chili broth, ramen noodle, carnitas, 1/2 soft egg, diced onion, cilantro, radish, lime, serrano pepper, and dried oregano -The usual for my husband! This one is more of a unique mexican/japanese fusion ramen. It's tangy from the lime mixed with the creamy tonkotsu soup base. The carnitas, which are cut into small pieces, are a nice change from the typical bigger pieces of chashu and seasoned as well. Since they are diced up, they soak up the full flavors of the soup. Previously ordered: Kara-Age - $8 Seasoned fried chicken comes with a sauce and lemon slice - Decent, my husband likes to order this from time to time especially when they have bogo deals (like on the app). The sauce is a mayo-y sauce - pairs well with the chicken. Pork Chashu Bowl - $11 Diced pork, house teriyaki sauce, green onion, red ginger, and sesame seeds over steamed white rice - Very tasty! For a corner restaurant off the 10 freeway, I was surprised that it was busy (granted it was a Saturday afternoon when I visited, but still)! It's not the biggest ramen restaurant in town, but there were still plenty of places to sit. You line up to order at the cash register and then find a place to sit. I loved looking around at all the decor they had! I liked my Spicy Sesame ramen that I ordered. As someone who normally doesn't order spicy food, it was just spicy enough for me to handle. I also liked the creamy sesame-flavored broth and the fact that there were plenty of veggies. I also ordered takoyaki on the side, which tasted fresh and savory! The sheer amount of bonito flakes on top did make me giggle, though. I wish I snapped a photo of that haha! read more

Other "artisan" ramen shops that flaunt their artisanal ramen sourced from who knows where, are simply overrated and exaggerate the quality in how they prepare their ramen. Nakazo Ramen Bistro prepares ramen that matches or even exceeds these so called artisanal shops. Their tonkotsu ramen is my go to here, it has the perfectly braised chashu (also browned to perfection), ramen eggs, and other add ons that other places usually charge more for. Here, you get all this for $15, which is not only a great price, fills you up, but also enough for you to order an accompanying side. Some places like SSG charge $3-4 for a small scoop of corn... canned corn. Even $2-3 for an egg that doesn't come with the ramen. The prices for other add-ons here are a lot more reasonable. You also don't have to deal with the wait that other hyped up ramen places have. You simply show up to the cashier, place your order, sit down, and your food arrives shortly after. The restaurant sits at the quaint corner of a plaza near the entrance to the I10 freeway. This is definitely an underrated spot due to its location, but rest assured, the servers are friendly and the ramen is reasonably priced and delicious. Having eaten at other ramen shops, I'd say this is the best when it comes to a solid bowl of ramen to enjoy on a cold SoCal night. read more
