There's a $350 minimum for a private room. They were really accommodating when I pre-reserved a room about two weeks in advance. They also put our cake in the fridge and cut it at no cost. The food here is absolutely solid. They know exactly what to do if you want a large group meal. They have set menus, but I just ordered all things that we like to eat. Extra shoutout for the cucumbers. The way they do they is truly deeeeelicious. I would reserve a room in advance. We ordered the spicy beef rice noodle soup, Dan Dan noodle, and popcorn chicken. The spicy beef rice noodle soup was flavorful, noodles were al dente, and veggies were cooked perfectly. The only thing was the meat wasn't super tender but still tasty. The Dan Dan noodle was awesome. After mixing everything up, it was perfectly creamy and just the right amount of spicy. It was maybe a little thick but that's my preference so I enjoyed it! The popcorn chicken was apparently one of their most popular items and it did not disappoint! It was juicy, crunchy, and spicy (I got mild but it still packed a punch). However, I wish they didn't give me so many baby pieces as those were purely fried batter with no chicken. Also, I thought prices were fair as the portion sizes were pretty large. Decent place, I'd definitely come back!

I walked into Hengry not knowing anything. My friend had this placed bookmarked for a while and made a reservation for our girls lunch. The interior was vastly different than the exterior and surrounding buildings. Various vibrant modern artwork and velvety seating filled the small intimate dining room. There's a private dining room towards the back of the restaurant as well. Parking was a small lot and a covered garage, shared with a small motel. The food was good portioned. Especially the chili beef and miao sour soup. The chili beef was spicy and had flavors of charred pepper and peppercorns. The Miao sour fish soup reminds me of the Vietnamese sour fish soup, with flavors of lemongrass. We also ordered the sesame Chinese lettuce (celtuce), braised pork belly w/ mustard greens, and sautéed A-choy. Every dish was delicious! Will definitely be back to try other dishes next time.

Like holy smokes, are the chefs on steroids back there? A salute to their efficiency and time management. Family ordered the Thai fried rice, house special fish fillet, pork chop with Peking sauce, and a tofu dish I do not know the name of. The fish fillet was most definitely running the show here. It was heavenly with every bite. My brother and I had to practically restrain ourselves from demolishing the entire plate. Another deep nod to the chef's magnificent craftsmanship. Order this for a taste of no regrets. The servers were absolutely amazing. For a typical Chinese restaurant, it is pretty standard to be served and for the most part ignored unless you needed something specific. However, the servers here were right in the middle of the horrendous lunch rush, and yet they still managed to carry out gestures that genuinely touched me- one of the waitresses waited at the door and held it open for us when my mom returned from the restroom because they could see that my mom had limited mobility. The guy serving us also made sure he was always giving her ample room to move around amidst all the chaos and commotion of the restaurant. Considering the tables and chairs are inches apart from each other too, we were pretty cramped. I asked another worker for utensils later on, and he was genuinely so sweet going about it, patient and smiling. Service here really warmed my heart, which was such a bonus. The setting was probably the most intriguing part. I am not familiar about the history of this particular location, but considering the walls in the hallway had old newspaper articles and images of the establishment from who knows how many decades ago, I would say it's teetering on the edge of being a museum in itself. Makes for a cool peek into history, but the run down building and yellowing, stained walls in the hallway might throw some people off who are looking to dine somewhere that has kept more in stride with modern times. This visit was fantastic from beginning to end, and all the small details really made everything come together into a wonderful synopsis of food, family, and a little extra kindness.

Ordered some good ol' beef chow fun, filet mignon beef, fried pork chops, and a traditional canto style braised goat meat with bean curd skin. Mind you each entree came with rice, so don't order more white rice unless that's what you intend. Everything tasted amazing and similar to other Chinese restaurants. Pretty large and decent portions. Enough to pack togo boxes even after eating so much. The downside is the long wait and the extend wait even after we got a text that our table was ready. Overall a solid good canto food spot for good late night eats.
