We stopped by Grand Central Market in Downtown Los Angeles. This place is very busy. I suggest parking in the garage next door although it can get full on high volume times like lunch hour and weekends. We walked the entire market and decided on getting sandwiches at Ghost Sando Shop. I ordered the Reuben's Cousin and my daughters ordered the Veg Out. Both were very tasty and flavorful. The staff is friendly and got our orders to us in a timely manner. The market place is fully packed and finding tables to sit can be challenging. Luckily we went to the downstairs area and made friends with one of the vendors. She offered us a long table on the side of the wall for us to eat our lunch. Worked out because it was also air conditioned down there. We enjoyed out sandwiches there.
Got a shorty and it hit the spot ! Great service even in the middle of a lunch rush. Food tastes great some friends enjoyed their sandwiches too! Would definitely recommend
It's a hot day and I was craving a meaty sandwich, and this place satisfied that craving. I ordered the BLAST with Chicken and Red Onions with the sauce on the side. The bread.... the Fillings.... all hit and it was delicious! I'm definitely coming back here again and ordering the same sandwich. Thank you Ghost Sando Shop!

You can't miss the bright teal paint or custom green neon sign. The walls are tastefully decked with hexagon tile and wooden slats. The sandwich production line is front and center, and staff members buzz around even well after the weekday lunch rush. Stools are pressed up against the long stainless steel bar counter, guaranteeing a seat for customers. My partner and I visited Ghost Sando for a weekday lunch, but our food was prepared relatively quickly. Immediately, I was shocked by the sheer density of the sandwiches. Rolled into compact cylinders, the weight could have fooled me into thinking they were bricks. The "Large" size was plenty for even a hefty appetite, but I can't imagine how anyone could tackle the double-topping "XX Large" portions. I also enjoyed the unique Dutch crunch loaf -- consider holding your sandwich upside-down to fully appreciate the crispy shell. Otherwise, the sandwiches were more standard than spectacular. The cold cuts are more like grocery store variety than premium deli, and the veggies are only a step above Subway. I preferred the mildly spicy Firebird to the warm-ish Pastrami Mami, but neither blew my socks off. The service is mostly disengaged, and the sandwiches run from $15 each. Reasonably, a sandwich can be extended across 2 meals. The sandos are mostly standard, but the Dutch crunch rolls are mildly addictive. While Ghost Sando is not a reason alone to pay GCM a visit, it is a filling and reliable bet for routine DTLA lunch.
Ghost Sando Shop is a delectable sandwich shop in Grand Centra Market, DTLA. They have a plethora of food items on their menu. I had a regular Tornado sandwich which is composed of crispy bbq chicken, lettuce, tomatoes and special sauce. I requested to exclude bacon. The sandwich was surprisingly tasty and flavorful. I rarely eat sandwich as my lunch but I want to be adventurous today. Staff were competent and professional. Price was surprisingly modest. Seats are available. Overall, I had a good sandwich. I'd recommend you visit.
A sandwich shop located in the grand central market. They seemed to have a lot of variety of sandwiches. I got a breakfast one called the wrong side of the bed. It comes with pastrami, tomato paste, hash brown, and a sunny side up egg. I got their shortie size but it was still HUGE! I fear what their other sizes will be lol I also got their strawberry juice it was pretty yummy. They offer refills as well. The guy at the counter was super nice and offered to cut my sammy when he saw my eyes widen to see how big it was. It really helped me eat clean! Wish them the best!
I ordered the pastrami mami. I waited a few min to order since they seem busy. Ingredients were placed on the shelves. Chairs are placed parallel to the stainless steel countertop. Mexican music plays from the speaker. It costs $14 for shortie size sandwich which is 6 inches if I had to guess. The logo of the sandwich shop is near the top of the restaurant. Order will take 10 or so minutes. It took 8 minutes which was fast. I think online orders took place in the time I waited and 2 groups ordered sandwiches ahead of me. I asked the cashier for my receipt since I wasn't sure if I could get it even though it faced me. Tons of customers didn't get their receipts either. I love how the bread was toasty. Lots of lettuce and pepperoncini which made it crunchy. Hardly tasted the bacon but I didn't mind. I loved that pastrami was at the forefront.

I like how they give you a lot of meat, and how the sauces and seasonings don't feel overpowering. A medium is perfect for someone on their lunch, but might be a little big if you have even a slightly smaller appetite. The bacon could've been more crispy, but overall the sandwich lived up to the expectations. The bread was a little flat and not as crunchy/flavorful as I would've liked. I also wished they had more bread options other than dutch crunch, but maybe that's a possibility in the future. Although the shop's lines and employees may seem busy, they pump out food quickly at an affordable price that's guaranteed to fill you up. Definitely recommend for any tourist/local!

We also tried the firebird, which comes with pastrami turkey, chipotle mayo and all the fixings. This one was my favorite. The meat ratio is great here. They're known for their Dutch crunch bread, which tastes amazing. Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, and it holds everything together perfectly. Service was quick and efficient, especially considering how busy GCM gets. I can definitely see why people call this one of the best sandwich spots in LA. Left very full and already mentally bookmarking it for my next sandwich craving.

We've been to the Burbank location and loved it. So I was very pleased to discover that ghost sando shop is in the Grand Central market. Through sandwiches are very good. Very beefy and definitely shareable.

Less chicken though The regular size wasn't quite enough to satisfy a full craving - it felt more like a good snack-sized bite rather than a complete meal. If you're looking for something substantial, you might want to consider ordering additional items or getting the 2 larger sizes. The service was efficient, with quick ordering at the counter. The staff seemed to keep things moving smoothly. Would I go back? Yes, I'd be interested in trying different items on their menu to get a better sense of what they offer. to be honest, ghost sando is just not at the level of a sandwich place like ike's, and doesn't justify the price point. their draw is the dutch crunch, but honestly i prefer ike's! while it definitely had the crunch, i didn't feel like it had a lot of flavor. i tried their one vegetarian option, veg out. nothing about it really stood out to me. i appreciated that they roasted the red bell peppers, though! read more

Another DTLA goldmine. I ordered the Cold Sando (6") with mayo, provolone, Black Forest ham, tomato, easy onions, and pickles on the side. Let me just say this thing was the BOMB. Everything tasted fresh, the ingredients were high quality, and every bite was packed with flavor. It's one of those sandwiches that's simple, but done so well that you immediately know you'll be craving it again. If you're in Downtown LA and looking for a great sandwich spot, Ghost Sando is definitely worth checking out. 10/10. I'll definitely be back! read more

I was really craving a good sandwich for quite some time and the Ghost Sando Shop in Grand Central Market really satisfied my craving. The secret to what makes these sandwiches so special is the Dutch crunch bread. It's essentially a very soft bread that's fluffy on the inside but has a crunchy, slightly sweet coating that just makes for the perfect sandwich bread. The plot thickens once you get to what's inside the bread. The sandwich is jam packed with meats, cheese, veg, and sauce (the exact contents depend on which sandwich you choose). I chose the "Santa Monica" sandwich, which was packed with pastrami, turkey, bacon, melted pepper jack cheese, "Melrose Spread," roasted red peppers, and sprouts. This sandwich was jam-packed with flavor. The meats tasted fresh. I got the large size and it was a hefty sandwich - you will not be leaving this deli hungry, that's for sure. The service was good; they did take their time, but I appreciate that they made sure it was made fresh and up to par. It's a small stand In the Grand Central market, and they have both counter seating by the deli as well as plenty of tables just in front of the counter. I came here on my first trip to LA years ago and had almost forgotten about it until a quick Google search for a good sandwich led me to Ghost Sando Shop. Something about the bread caught my attention, and when I'm unsure of what I want, a good sandwich and chips always do the trick. I ordered the club sandwich, which came with turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and a few other toppings. It was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. I went with the 6-inch, which they mentioned is a newer size option, and it was just right since I don't eat as much as I used to. Paired with a bag of chips, it made for a simple yet satisfying lunch. I'm glad I rediscovered Grand Central Market and found this spot--Ghost Sando Shop definitely hits the mark for a great sandwich in downtown LA. read more

My new favorite sandwich shop! Decided to check out Grand central and had to stop at Ghost Sando since I've heard so many good things. While it's in the middle of other store fronts, it would be hard to miss with all the signs. The menu is extensive but I went with the BLT sandwich after asking which sandwich's were the most popular. I wasn't disappointed. The sandwich was a huge portion, flavorful and delicious. Service was great and moved quickly. I would say it took about 10 minutes for me to get my sandwich which wasn't a crazy wait since other people had put in orders as well. Grand central is overall busy but you can't miss the restaurant and you shouldn't have an issue finding somewhere to sit. It's a lively place but it's also fun as well! Highly recommend! read more
Wow! Might be one of the best sandwiches I have eaten, what makes it special is the crispy but soft bread (unlike those crusty bread that rips off the skin from the roof of your mouth, ouch!). Generously stuffed depending on the size of the sandwhich. I loved it so much I bought another one for my lunch. Yes, it's a bit pricey compared to other sandwich joints but it's quality! Very friendly and efficient staff. It's inside GCM so expect the crowd and the bustling market ambiance. Ordered the Niki and Club. read more

The price point is ok for inflation & all & they take cash, with that being said.... It's not super filling ... No flavor except for the jalapenos... Everything tastes white.. bland .. Ghost Sando Shop Longest line in Grand Central Market which generally means good food or lack luster workers that can't keep up. This ace is the first, good sandwiches Santa Monica Toasted Dutch Crunch Roll smeared with house spread with Pastrami, Oven Roasted Turkey, Thick Cut Bacon and melted Pepperjack Cheese and topped with house slaw (lettuce, red onions, pepperoncini tossed in house spread) and Roasted Red Pepper and sprouts. Melrose Toasted Dutch Crunch Roll smeared with famous Melrose spread and packed with Black Forest Ham, Oven Roasted Turkey, Thick Cut Bacon and melted White American Cheese and topped with house slaw (lettuce, red onions, pepperoncini tossed in Melrose spread) and tomato These 2 sandwiches are excellent and the Dutch Crunch Bread is the topping of the cake. read more
Everyone knows a pool day calls for sandwiches! I ordered a club sandwich and while it was tasty, one side of the sandwich was soggy!! I've had ghost sandwiches before albeit from the Fairfax location but those sandwiches came delivered perfect. We ordered from the DTLA shop as we were just around the corner so I figured the sandwiches would be extra good because we are so close there's not a chance it would get soggy that fast. Well I was wrong lol. Idk if it was due to the store or the delivery person. Soggy sandwiches are never it but we did our best and ate around the soggy parts. Love the Dutch crunch bread! read more

Made it out to GCM and knew I had to finally give Ghost Sando a shot. I ordered the firebird sub with regular Turkey and it did not disappoint. Everything was well made and delicious. But I do want to note the subs on the higher end, I paid nearly $40 for two subs and 1 bag of chips. I do wish the chipotle sauce was a bit more spicy but it was still a great bite. My friend ordered the pastrami mami and that was equally as delicious. The service was great, your standard sandwich counter. GCM is always bustling but there's tables both inside and out but we took our subs to go. read more

Some employees here give you an attitude if you come close to closing and make an order. One time I came at 6:50pm and one of they told me they were closed, I had to ask his supervisor to take my order. On my last visit, I found a piece broken off piece of plastic in my food inside my sandwich. Mind you I wanted to bring it up to somebody but by that time they were already closed. read more

Super disappointment with my order. Ordered on ubereats and was given the option to modify ingredients which I appreciated since im allergic to mayonnaise and not a fan of onions. I opened my sandwich and took a big bite when onions immediately fell out. I didnt big deal it since I could easily remove them however, when I opened it to take a look it was filled with mayo. As an avid sandwich lover and someone who spends way to much time at the Grand Central Market, it was finally time to have my first sandwich from Ghost Sando Shop. This shop is located right in the first aisle and thanks to it's bright paint job and cool aesthetic, this place is pretty hard to miss. The menu here has consists of both breakfast and lunch, offering three sandwich sizes, as well as a pretty solid selection for both meal times. Even though it was hard to decide, I finally pulled the trigger on the "Kickin' Chicken" and a pineapple passionfruit drink to help wash it down. There were four of us and the food didn't take too long to come out, but thanks to this place being packed it can be pretty difficult to find a place to sit down sometimes. The pineapple passionfruit drink was absolutely delicious! It was super fruity, cold, and as refreshing as a drink could be. The Kickin' Chicken sandwich was a pretty decent size considering I ordered the smallest one, but packed some dang good flavour for the chicken which also had whatever the blast spread is, chipotle adobo spread, melted mozzarella, cheddar cheese, lettuce, pickled jalapeno, toato, white onion, and some of the best bread I've had with a sandwich in a long time. IT WAS SO GOOD! Overall, Ghost Sando Shop is the premier sandwich place in Los Angeles and I totally get why now. Grand Central Market is one of the few places to eat downtown and has lots of options. I ordered for pickup and the club sandwich was read on time and the servers were working hard. Lots of shared seating in the bustling food hall but I took my sandwich back to the office. It's pretty good. It reminds me of Ike's Love & Sandwiches, yet not quite as fresh with the ingredients. We got a tornado hot sandwich and a firebird cold sandwich. Both sandwiches come on Dutch crunch. The tornado had a sweet and zesty flavor while the firebird was more savory and packed a good amount of heat. They were both good and quite filling. I'd definitely try other flavors the next time.
