An absolute elite deli shop! This spot has been on my radar for a while, and I finally had the chance to drop in on a Friday afternoon. The first sign of a top-tier deli: a long line paired with fast service. The crew behind the counter was hustling to get everyone their subs in a timely manner, and I was extremely happy with the service. For the sandwich, I went with the classic cold Italian sub, and it is easily in my top three of all time. After driving back to the San Fernando Valley--about a 40-minute trek with traffic--the bread was still firm and not soggy at all. The sub was bursting with flavor from the oil and honey mustard, and the pickles added a great touch of crunch. It paired perfectly with my all-time favorite Miss Vickie's Jalapeño chips. You order at the counter and once your order is ready you pay upon pick up along with any items you picked up from the store. They had plenty of drink and chips options as well as desserts! It's take out only, so there is no area to sit and dine in. I am sensitive to gluten so I opted for one of their salads. The man taking my order recommended the Boss Salad and I went with that with a Cesar dressing. It was fire! I ordered a club sandwich with no bacon and Johnny proceeded to argue with me about it instead of apologizing he first tried to correct me and say it didn't come with it then said my sandwich did have bacon. Also ordered the mail man w regular mustard they still put honey mustard and made no apologies and threw the sandwich down. I stuck with the Classic Club since it was my first time and it did not disappoint! The service was really friendly and fast. The choices for drinks, chips, and even snacks were endless. Came here frequently when worked nearby years ago, and just revisited recently - the quality and value is just superb. I got a Sweet Thing - Cold sandwich with honey turkey and honey ham, and a few veggie modifications on french bread. Large, delicious and satisfying; enjoyed it over the course of two meals. Also got some curly fries with buffalo sauce/toppings which were a little bit soggy but the sauce was so good, I didn't care. On my recent visit I placed an order online for pickup and even the website is appealing. You can build your own burger or hot/cold sandwich if you don't want the menu options and they have this easy, detailed check list of toppings, condiments, sauces, etc. for your to pick and choose whatever your tastebuds desire, there is something for every taste palate and they have excellent vegetarian sandwiches as well. As for the pastries, I try so hard to look the other way when I'm in the deli, but I always end up grabbing a sweet treat, like the Oreo cheesecake. They have cake slices, mini pies, bananas pudding, cookies, you name it. Lastly, The employees are always super nice, like literally, the customer service here is the absolute best. I had wondered will it be a full serving of meat for 4.50 extra or just half but as you can see below I shouldn't have been worried. When I ordered, they have a specialty sandwich called the "ZUZU SPECIAL" on squaw bread (pumpernickel). it's a breaded fried chicken patty, Cajun turkey with lots of toppings(I submitted photo of listed items" it comes with Cajun mayo and avocado, but I ordered without with a side of their honey bbq sauce. When you walk in, it's very spacious, two lines for ordering and pick up. (If you want to avoid lunch rush, order online for pick up) as it does get busy around 12-2pm hour. It's huge inside and they have a wide menu with just about everything from sandwiches, chicken, pastrami, chips, drinks and desserts. They have a lot that they share with two other business. I would definitely order through the website because they have soo many options to make a sandwich, to add special sauces, veggies mustards etc, what you can add and take off items you don't want on a sandwich so you're not overwhelmed because they have TONS of on the website. ended up getting the italian sub $15 and the hot BBQ pastrami $15. Also added 1/2 pound $5potato salad and $7 chicken salad. Everything was delicious. I liked the Italian the best of the bunch. Service was good. I would recommend trying this deli. To say that the parking lot craziness was worth it was an understatement. Deliciousness at its best. Every bite of our sandwiches was filled with loads of freshness and flavor. I thought we would be there for quite some time given the true madness of the parking lot and arrive there around lunch time. But this place has it down!
