Howdy folks. In this edition of Nasty Nathanial's "Nasty" reviews I am going to be telling you all about a groovy little place called The Rusty Pot Cafe. What is there to say about The Rusty Pot Cafe? Actually, there is a lot to say and I am going to get into that right now. So strap on your safety belts because we're blasting off to good ol' Inglewood. Located in the heart of Downtown Inglewood, this place truly is a gem. I first came here back in 2018 when myself and a fellow activist known as the Angry Gay Pope came to Inglewood to do an infiltration of the Scientology Org located directly across the street. I could go on and on about that place. But this review isn't about Scientology. It's about The Rusty Pot Cafe. But before we could begin our work, we decided to go grab a bite to eat. This was how I first discovered The Rusty Pot Cafe. So fast forward to 2026, I found myself back in Los Angeles. I had traveled there with a friend of mine who had some legal matters to attend to at the LAX Courthouse. We won't get into that either. So instead of sitting around in court all morning, I decided to head on over to The Rusty Pot Cafe. I ended up walking all the way from the LAX Courthouse over to Downtown Inglewood. For those of you reading this who live in LA may be asking yourself, why didn't he just take the Metro? That's a good question. By the time I arrived at The Rusty Pot Cafe I had worked up quite an appetite. One of the first things I noticed upon arrival is that they still had the same style sign hanging over the entrance. It's like one of those banner type of signs with the businesses name and phone number on it. You know the kind you'd see hanging on the side of a flatbed truck during a parade. I love it. I like how they haven't changed the sign's style. To me a sign like this ads character to the place. Plus it brought back memories from my original visit here. Upon walking into The Rusty Pot Cafe I was immediately flooded with a boatload of memories. This place was exactly how I remembered it. White walls with black tables and pieces of art hanging on the walls. It's not over the type flashy. But not a Plain Jane kind of a place either. More of a humble kind of a feel. Just enough character to make you feel right at home. Or at least to me it did. Anyways, I walked over to one of the tall tables and sat down. It wasn't long before I was greeted by a friendly, and handsome, Latino waiter. He was friendly and had the smile of a Hollywood actor. But not a phony kind of way that you see at a lot of restaurants where the servers are constantly trying to upsell you. It was that of a waiter who really cares about the customers he is serving. He didn't hesitate to bring me some freshly brewed coffee. This really hit the spot as would the burger that would soon follow. Now I'm not going to be shy when I say that The Rusty Pot Cafe has the best burger in all of Los Angeles. I know that may seem like a bold statement. But it's true. I've eaten at a lot of burger joints in and around LA and I've stuffed some tasty burgers into my belly. But none of them have tasted near as good as The Rusty Pot Cafe's burger. It puts In-N-Out's burgers to shame. The angus beef is soooooooo delicious and they cook it just the way meat should be cooked for a burger. Not well done and not rare either. But just enough so that those wonderful flavors come out of the patty and into your mouth. My oh my did this hit the spot. So did the flavor able fries that were served with the burger. Seriously The Rusty Pot Cafe's house burger is AMAZING! I highly recommend it. This burger is better than sex. The service at The Rusty Cafe is also top notch. The waiters were very attentive and are always checking on the customers to see if any of us needed more coffee or water or another margarita. Hold it. They don't serve margaritas here. You got to go to Los Amigos for that. But I think you get the idea. I really dig this. One thing I hate is when you go somewhere to eat and the servers let your drink go empty. Then you got to flag someone down in order to get some more coffee or whatever you're drinking. That is such rubbish. But that is not a problem at The Rusty Pot Cafe. Their servers will make sure your cup gets refilled before it goes empty. These folks are right on top of it. So if you have gotten to this point, I am sure you will see that I really love The Rusty Pot Cafe. I live about 3 hours north of Los Angeles and I would make a trip down there just so I can go eat at The Rusty Pot Cafe. And that's real talk. So if you happen to be in the LA area and want to fill your belly with some delicious food, I highly recommend that you make the trek over to Downtown Inglewood and check out The Rusty Pot Cafe. It was my first time at this restaurant and it was so delicious! I went with my friends for a catch up. Our server, Miguel, was amazing and he made the experience great. He was always checking on us. I got the catfish po'boy and shared a waffle with my friend. Everything was very tasty. I even got a sweet tea. The portions were great and I'm still so full. The restaurant was clean and it was a great place for me and my friends to catch up. It's street parking with pay to park. I made a wrong turn and stumbled upon a two hours for free parking and walked over. Thank you again to Miguel and if I'm in the area again, I would go back! read more

The food was very good and the service was also excellent and there was a nice crowd of people at the establishment.

I'm from Phoenix and was looking for a highly rated breakfast place in the area. I originally drove to another highly recommended place but couldn't find parking. I'm grateful for that because it led me here. Upon entering, we were greeted and told to sit where we would like. The service was friendly and fast. We ordered and the food arrived quickly. It was simple, yet delicious. The waffle was crispy but not rock hard. It was not soggy - nor did it get soggy after adding syrup. The bacon was amazing and crispy. The grits were just right with the perfect amount of butter. The coffee was good too. If I'm ever visiting Inglewood again I will make sure to stop back by. If you're local and haven't tried this spot - you're missing out! read more

After hearing a good amount about Rusty Pot, I was definitely interested in seeing how the food and service would be. The menu was decent and I had looked forward to trying the food but mainly everything was pretty regular and the portions were on the smaller side despite the price for everything. The "angus" burger seemed more like a slider and the chicken wings were super small which was disappointing since we left still hungry. Thankfully though the service was very helpful and friendly which made it somewhat better. read more

Hidden Gem in Inglewood! Sometimes you just have to give a small spot a try--and The Rusty Pot Café in Inglewood did not disappoint! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff made us feel right at home. Between the three of us, we ordered two different meals: the catfish with grits and eggs, and the chicken and waffles. Both dishes were packed with flavor, seasoned to perfection, and gave off that comforting, home-cooked vibe with a touch of gourmet flair. The catfish was crispy and tender, the grits buttery and smooth, and don't even get me started on that waffle--it was golden, fluffy, and paired perfectly with the well-seasoned chicken. This place may be small, but it has big soul. Friendly service, delicious food, and a vibe that keeps you wanting to come back. My parents and I love to stop in here! The owner is so lovely, she's been in this location forever. No frills no fuss just good food.

I was going here for a minute before covid and during when 3wings and a waffle was $9.99. I won't pay 2025-26 prices i refuse to pay her rent for skrany wings, the waffle was hit or miss and the potatoes was as well. I do wish her well tho. read more

Found this place after trying to go to The Serving Spoon and decided to give them a try. The service was great and our food came out really fast. But, I didn't love it. I had the catfish, eggs and grits, the fish was really good but those grits... no ma'am. I didn't enjoy the eggs either. Hubs was a little more disappointed with his food. Definitely wouldn't go back. I'm used to my server asking me how everything was after my meal. This server didn't, but he knew I didn't enjoy it. Half of the food was still on the plate read more

After following them on Instagram, I was not expecting that ambience. It reminds me of a hole in a wall with the lack of decoration, ripped furniture, and plastic tables with plastic table cloths. I was willing to look past all of that if the food was good and unfortunately it wasn't. I ordered the chicken and waffles with eggs on the side. The waffle was bland. The chicken was salty and tasted like it was fried in old oil. The grits and sweet tea were good. The bacon is cooked in the oven so it was salty. I also did not like the syrup they provide. Service was great though. Unfortunately, I was left underwhelmed. Perhaps I'll try again in the future. read more

This local spot on market street was great for simple breakfast lovers. This cafe has sitting indoors and outdoor, and fits roughly 20 people at capacity, but don't quote me on that number. Service from the moment we stepped in was great, we got sat right away. It was chilly that day, so glad we were able to sit inside. The menu isn't huge, but I was able to get a veggie omelette (added ham), breakfast potatoes, grits, and an orange juice. I wiped my plate clean! Looking forward to my next visit. read more

I had seriously one of the best plates of food in my life at toast & jam / rusty pot cafe. The place was beautiful, the staff and serve are amazing and very kind, and the food out of this kitchen is so homemade it transforms part of your soul. Much thanks to Stephanie for the amazing service and kindness overall. I got the fried chicken wings and waffle breakfast plate and it was so so so very delicious. The chicken was so warm, seasoned so simply, and literally was falling off the bones as you take a bite. So juicy and utterly perfect. Some of the best chicken ive ever had. Food is incredibly slow here. They're really inefficient and need to do better. Waited more than 30 minutes for our food.

I loved everything about this place. It is so quaint inside. The food is amazing as well with great portion sizes. Now don't get me wrong... I only had the waffles, eggs and chicken wings, but everything was oh-so -good. And the buttery pancake syrup comes in a little bottle that you can take home. It can be a little pricey , but if you can afford it (in today's turbulent financial times) it's well worth the extra funds at least every 3 months. read more

My grandma wanted to wanted to eat here for her birthday & I live in WASHINGTON!! I called ahead so that I could pay for my grandma's meal on her birthday as a surprise. Doing my due diligence and updating my review to let you know that this location is not the same Rusty Pot as before. I am putting up pictures of the new menu which is online. They only serve chicken & waffles and breakfast burgers. Such a bummer because I loved their food. I stopped by the other day for breakfast but was surprised when the waitress told us that the menu changed a couple of weeks ago. We decided to leave because they did not have anything that we really wanted. I passed by again today and to my surprise I notice that the Rusty Pot sign is no longer on the building. There is a plastic signage that says Wings in Motion and Eggcellant. I did notice the sign the other day but I didn't notice that the Rusty Pot sign was gone, for some reason the waitress did not tell us it was an entirely different business concept. The waitress is the same waitress that worked there when it was Rusty Pot so I thought it was the same business. read more

Takeout is so easy. I ordered through DoorDash a breakfast sandwich and a catfish breakfast. Unfortunately, and I missed the call to let me know they we're out of catfish and if I want to place another order. The sandwich was enough to share. Services is good with takeout. They make sure its packaged well for traveling so it's still pretty warm when it arrives. The sandwich had buttery and soft bread, along with apple smoked bacon & the perfect egg. Rusty Pot is so delicious!! I get the overload breakfast sandwich without bacon, you do not miss it at all! They toast the bread on both sides, the chipotle aioli is super flavorful, and it's just the perfect bite with the avocado it's literally so good Waffle is perfect, chicken is delicious, Roscoe's who is what my sister said when she had the combo The grits are super creamy, so so creamy. Butter, salt, and pepper omg Service is hit or miss, only because they're typically busy and often have only two servers there but the food is ready quickly, comes out hot, and it's all so tasty. It's a small space in terms of seating (maybe a dozen tables) so expect a wait if you come at a busy time but they allow takeout orders. Love Rusty Pot!
