Employees were extremely friendly. Coffee was absolutely amazing. I was really hoping to stop here before heading back home but I just couldn't in time. Hazelnut latte was a must! The shop looks small at first but it's HUGE once you make your way to the back. Great shop for studying, hang outs and whatever else you can think of.

This is one of my go-to coffee shops to study. I love that the work space in the back is open air. The place is spacious and there's plenty of plugs and seating area. Service is quick since iPad ordering allows workers to focus on preparing drinks and food. I don't have too wait long. I love their breakfast burrito and variety of bagel sandwiches. I also love their herbal teas. My favorite is the lemon honey. Bookmarked it as one of my faves.

First time coming here and I loved it! You order on a iPad! I went with the Hazelnut Shaken Espresso and it was so good, very creamy which I loved! The service was fast and the ambience is so nice! The space is beautiful I didn't stay this time and I'm looking forward to going back to enjoy the space and more drinks and try their food!

This place is amazing for some coffee and a quick breakfast! The music was like a club so definitely wakes you up! You order on a tablet and then you can hand out in the cyber studio which is SO nice. I got the hibiscus lavender latte and it was delicious, it was on the sweeter side but that's perfect for me because I like some coffee with my sugar. I also tried the pistachio cream croissant and the empanada and both items were incredibly delicious.

Came here for the ambience more than the food! It's a great place to chat, socialize, listen to the good choice of music while you study, work etc. This is a vibrant community of young students to professionals, it's a great diverse mixture. Awakening has fast-friendly service and servers despite the kiosk only ordering system. The vibe is energetic, colorful, and welcoming, with lots of space for groups to hang out or catch up. There are couches, communal tables, board games, and a large back lounge, making it easy to socialize or relax with friends.

Awakening is such a vibe, especially if you need somewhere to work. I came here straight from the airport because I needed a place to cowork before checking into my hotel, and it was exactly what I needed. The front operates like a coffee shop, but in the back there is a huge coworking space. There is so much room to spread out and work. Tons of tables, plenty of outlets placed throughout the space, and everything feels open and bright. It genuinely feels like a community hub where you can either work independently or gather with friends. They also have games available like chess, Bananagrams, Monopoly, and Yahtzee. So if you are not working, or if you brought kids and need something to keep them occupied, there are options. One of the standout features is their $20 day pass. With that, you can book a private desk or room. You get a dedicated desk, a 27-inch TV display, access to booths, and private bathrooms. If you need something quieter or more focused, that is a great option. Now, fair warning: it is not silent. The music in the coffee shop area is pretty loud, and even in the larger coworking space in the back, the music carries. You can still hold a conversation, and I did take a meeting there, but for a coworking environment it is on the louder side. If you need complete quiet, I would recommend the day pass option. As for drinks, I had the double banana matcha and it was so good. Absolutely loved it. I also have my eye on the Heavenly Cloud for next time. Overall, I would definitely come back the next time I am in LA or near Inglewood. If you are looking for a vibey coworking space with good drinks and a community feel, Awakening is worth trying.

I I've been addicted to the iced cloud matcha lately. Can't go wrong with this, I think they have the best local matcha. Service was good and quick.

I love the convenience of ordering on a tablet on the awakening and getting a high quality drink within 5 minutes. It's my go-to every time I'm in LA. The matcha is great quality, the banana is fresh, and they always use the perfect amount of sweetner. I've also tried the strawberry matcha and it does not disappoint. If you're a first timer, check out the groovy coworking space in the back to keep the good times going.

Amazing coffee and great ambiance, lots of space for a big group to hang out in the back! I came on a Sunday so parking around the area was free. The coffee shop is on a busy street so you'll have to park around the corner where the street meters are. Ordering happens at the front of the coffee shop and you can walk to the back to sit down on the couches or tables to hang out. New Years just happened so I saw a couple of friends making vision boards. BRING A JACKET, it's very cold as they open the whole back wall to the outside I would recommend coming on a day to do work on my laptop or just hang out with a friend to catch up.

Cutest little gentrified coffee shop/coworking space in Inglewood vicinity. They have a great selection of coffee and matcha drinks along with some breakfast eats. They have ipads to put in your order and lots of space to wait for your items to come up. Neon lights and earthy plant vibes all around.

Whenever I see that a coffee shop has raving reviews, I want to experience the hype for myself. I would describe the location, as well as the coffee, as fun and upbeat. I ordered the Paradise Lost Ghirardelli Latte, hot. Unfortunately, for ME, somewhere the coffee got lost in the chocolate. It tasted like a mere, extra chocolatey, hot chocolate. I took my normal few "confirmation" sips, and poured it out. I wont say I wouldn't try them again, but I will more than likely customize my selection. The spot gives "garage type" vibes, and that allows for a comfortable experience. I think just about anyone would enjoy "chillaxin" at Awakening.

This cafe is nothing like one I have visited in the past. When walking in, we were greeted by the baristas at the front and they directed us to order at the self kiosk. Ordered 2 drinks which came out in less than 10 minutes. After ordering, we were led to the back of the cafe which was where there was tons of seating, couches, and comfortable place to lounge. Music was playing and it was very layback. While the cafe was very aesthetic, the drinks could have had more flavor and less bitter. Overall, great place to sit and hang with friends or to work or study.

Mallory C.

Visited this spot for a meetup in the area and was pleasantly surprised! When you first walk up, it's a small location and you order drinks and food via a kiosk, but when you go into the lounge area, it opens up and it's a great space to hang out and do work. The service is efficient too; they text you when your food is ready and you head back to the front to pick it up.

Ask the Community - Awakening

Do you have any areas that are quiet to take a zoom meeting?

Yes, we do! Our coworking space at xTribe on the 2nd floor has four phone booths. Day passes are $20 and can be purchased on-site.

Is the shop affiliated with SpaceX or Elon Musk? I know the space used to have Cybertrucks at one point and has discount promo codes for Tesla purchases. Just want to make sure before making the decision to continue spending money there.

You would think that the owner could answer this questions since she's answered others. The silence is 🤔🤔🤔

Hi! Is outside food allowed? Or outside water allowed in the patio area. I tried calling a phone number that was on maps but seems to go straight to voicemail. Please let me know thank you!!

I would assume no to outside food since they serve food, and they have free water available!

Does this place have meeting space for up to 6 people?

Yes, If you join the xtribe you have access to meeting rooms, etc. You may be able to use a meeting room with a day pass.

Is the matcha ceremonial grade?

Yes it is. 🙌🏻

Are there outlets for charging?

Hi Victoria, there are several outlets at the tables in the Cyber Patio.

Will you be open on mlk day? So excited you are in the neighborhood!

Hi, we will be open with our regular hours: 7am-7pm. We are excited to be here!

Will you be open tomorrow around 9:30? Your site says open on the 20th. I tried emailing but it bounced back?

Hi there! We are open daily 7am till 7pm. We are sorry to hear that the email bounced, we’ll double check it now.

Is there a Phone number?

Hi there! We don’t have a phone number, but we can answer any questions you may have here, or you can contact us at help@awakening.bar We hope this helps!

I drove by twice and couldn't find the place. Advice on getting there or identifying the exterior?

Hi! We are sorry to hear that you are having difficulties finding us. We are located halfway through the block on La Brea Ave between Manchester and Nutwood Street. Look for the 3 story building with the yellow neon sign out front. We look forward… Read more

Howdy folks. In this edition of Nasty Nathanial's "Nasty" reviews I am going to be telling you all…read moreabout a groovy little place called The Rusty Pot Cafe. What is there to say about The Rusty Pot Cafe? Actually, there is a lot to say and I am going to get into that right now. So strap on your safety belts because we're blasting off to good ol' Inglewood. Located in the heart of Downtown Inglewood, this place truly is a gem. I first came here back in 2018 when myself and a fellow activist known as the Angry Gay Pope came to Inglewood to do an infiltration of the Scientology Org located directly across the street. I could go on and on about that place. But this review isn't about Scientology. It's about The Rusty Pot Cafe. But before we could begin our work, we decided to go grab a bite to eat. This was how I first discovered The Rusty Pot Cafe. So fast forward to 2026, I found myself back in Los Angeles. I had traveled there with a friend of mine who had some legal matters to attend to at the LAX Courthouse. We won't get into that either. So instead of sitting around in court all morning, I decided to head on over to The Rusty Pot Cafe. I ended up walking all the way from the LAX Courthouse over to Downtown Inglewood. For those of you reading this who live in LA may be asking yourself, why didn't he just take the Metro? That's a good question. By the time I arrived at The Rusty Pot Cafe I had worked up quite an appetite. One of the first things I noticed upon arrival is that they still had the same style sign hanging over the entrance. It's like one of those banner type of signs with the businesses name and phone number on it. You know the kind you'd see hanging on the side of a flatbed truck during a parade. I love it. I like how they haven't changed the sign's style. To me a sign like this ads character to the place. Plus it brought back memories from my original visit here. Upon walking into The Rusty Pot Cafe I was immediately flooded with a boatload of memories. This place was exactly how I remembered it. White walls with black tables and pieces of art hanging on the walls. It's not over the type flashy. But not a Plain Jane kind of a place either. More of a humble kind of a feel. Just enough character to make you feel right at home. Or at least to me it did. Anyways, I walked over to one of the tall tables and sat down. It wasn't long before I was greeted by a friendly, and handsome, Latino waiter. He was friendly and had the smile of a Hollywood actor. But not a phony kind of way that you see at a lot of restaurants where the servers are constantly trying to upsell you. It was that of a waiter who really cares about the customers he is serving. He didn't hesitate to bring me some freshly brewed coffee. This really hit the spot as would the burger that would soon follow. Now I'm not going to be shy when I say that The Rusty Pot Cafe has the best burger in all of Los Angeles. I know that may seem like a bold statement. But it's true. I've eaten at a lot of burger joints in and around LA and I've stuffed some tasty burgers into my belly. But none of them have tasted near as good as The Rusty Pot Cafe's burger. It puts In-N-Out's burgers to shame. The angus beef is soooooooo delicious and they cook it just the way meat should be cooked for a burger. Not well done and not rare either. But just enough so that those wonderful flavors come out of the patty and into your mouth. My oh my did this hit the spot. So did the flavor able fries that were served with the burger. Seriously The Rusty Pot Cafe's house burger is AMAZING! I highly recommend it. This burger is better than sex. The service at The Rusty Cafe is also top notch. The waiters were very attentive and are always checking on the customers to see if any of us needed more coffee or water or another margarita. Hold it. They don't serve margaritas here. You got to go to Los Amigos for that. But I think you get the idea. I really dig this. One thing I hate is when you go somewhere to eat and the servers let your drink go empty. Then you got to flag someone down in order to get some more coffee or whatever you're drinking. That is such rubbish. But that is not a problem at The Rusty Pot Cafe. Their servers will make sure your cup gets refilled before it goes empty. These folks are right on top of it. So if you have gotten to this point, I am sure you will see that I really love The Rusty Pot Cafe. I live about 3 hours north of Los Angeles and I would make a trip down there just so I can go eat at The Rusty Pot Cafe. And that's real talk. So if you happen to be in the LA area and want to fill your belly with some delicious food, I highly recommend that you make the trek over to Downtown Inglewood and check out The Rusty Pot Cafe. I know I will. Plus I'd like to see that handsome waiter again. Wink, wink. Thank you for reading and may the burgers continue to be better than.... Ok, ok. I think you get the idea. Happy trails. The grits were just right with the perfect amount of butter. The coffee was good too. If I'm ever visiting Inglewood again I will make sure to stop back by. If you're local and haven't tried this spot - you're missing out!
