    Vanilla Latte
    Jason W.

It took me an embarrassingly long time to figure out that the wall was a door and the portal to one of the most comfortable cafes I've been in. Ordering was a breeze and the helpful staff got me a vanilla latte and the chicken biscuit in what felt like moments. Both were good and enjoyed in the side room that was an inviting warm/brown. The seating was plush and comfortable and folks could be found in every corner. Conversations, reading, and work were getting done everywhere I could see. I would want to go back for that feeling of community and comfort even if the food and bev weren't solid. Thankfully, you can count on both when going to Haydn!

Yummy! Came to pick up a biscuit sandwhich with smoked salmon and loved it. The service was great. It's cozy and casual inside. But back to the biscuit: biscuit is perfect and soft. Salmon and capers were good, it just needed a squeeze of lemon juice to set it off. But I'd love to come back to try some coffee. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area!

Love the vibe and mantra behind the place. I need to check it out in the evening and see what it's like. The coffee was great and, importantly, came out quickly! The new space has a listening room next door which feels like the exact opposite to the main coffee shop with its very different fittings.

Issa vibe! Great coffee, delish food--that egg and cheddar biscuit sandwich with fig jam hits!--and beautiful location! I've also had the Brok Up smoothie which was solid too. Love the dual nature of the place with the coffee shop on one side and lounge on the other. So happy it's back and better here in the community. Staff are warm and welcoming too.

    Shop facing outside

Dear Yelp Community, I visited for the first time this week, and what a pleasant surprise...much more than a coffee shop! Upon entry, I was greeted by a professional and pleasant man who made me a good chai latte and explained about the venue, then another man gave me a personal tour of the shop because there is another section that is divided by a secret door into a cozy room with high ceilings, diverse furniture (with descriptions on the wall in the other area of the shop with the espresso machine), an area as a platform for performers, a wall area for projected films, as well as restroom with information on the walls that portray the history of the neighborhood (Leimert Park) and African-American history (cultural heritage). Also, I was informed that this venue is a dry space (no alcohol), open very late, has a kitchen with food, and offers community events. I highly recommend this venue. Enjoy, and well wishes. Sincerely, Anna

Love Love the concept and vibe it has been my go to for a few weeks now. Early riser for the gym. For the most part the staff has been amazing, this morning's 7:15am customer service fell short. Maybe they weren't a morning person? I have had a Vanilla and Chocolate Latte(not a fan) Vanilla Yum. I plan on exploring the menu and checking out the lounge. Give it a try and support this local business. A morning greeting and thank you goes a long way when spending $8 for coff

I stumbled across this coffee shop while walking around the neighborhood. The place is very minimalistic, and has limited seating. There's a separate room for hosting meetings or events and they sell things there too. I wish they had more food variety and more comfortable seating. This place and location has great potential that I feel is untapped. The service was great but the coffee wasnt anything special that I would come back solely for. Overall, okay coffee shop.

    Chai Latte

Ambiance: Minimalist but very cute itside... clean and quiet. Enough seating for a couple of groups. I went midday on Friday, and it was fairly light inside. Service: Overall, I had a smooth experience. Simple menu, helpful and friendly batista. No complaints. Food: I loved my Chai Latte, perfectly sweet and creamy. My only regret is that I didn't get a large. Next time, I'll try one of the smoothies because they looked delicious.

I stopped by for a late breakfast/brunch with my partner and two friends. It was my first visit. We found parking easily, but it could be due to the holiday. The place itself is clean, open and has minimalist decor that lends to a welcoming vibe featuring some really cool photography on the walls. The menu is definitely pared down, but there is variety enough for various moods and tastes. I had the avocado toast minus goat cheese and a raspberry (I believe) hibiscus iced tea. The pricing is fair for an individual-owned restaurant. I didn't experience any bad service and even when the gent calling out names had to repeat mine because I wasn't sure I'd heard right, he wasn't annoyed at all. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and cool. I am not being dramatic when I say this may be the best avocado toast I've ever had. The portion was a single slice of toast, but it was loaded high with fresh, delicately arranged ingredients. It wasn't too salty, which a lot of places make the mistake of making avo toast. It along with the delicious tea was literally the best first meal of the year I could imagine. The bathroom was clean and also featured more of that same rad photography inside on the walls. All in all, a truly wonderful experience! Walking back to the car past a dude playing conga drums and others just outside enjoying the day added to a wonderfully community-based feeling. I recommend! And I will likely be pin ring people in the direction of this place if they're in LA proper for the avocado toast alone! I devoured it before taking a photo, but I will get one the next time we visit!

Minus a star for lack of outlets- looked like they only had one section with a handful of outlets in the corner and none anywhere else. It's really hard to be in a joyful mood when you are not being attended to. They brought my food out fast, I wanted to ask for sauces, more napkins & no one checked in on me. Maybe because I came during dinner time? The bartender is gold -- he was more attentive than the whole staff the entire time. I am sad to say that this truly made my food non exciting and very blah. I was pleased to get some Cafe Dulce nearby while I shopped at Trader Joe's and Target in the USC village. This cafe does have a top of the range Vietnamese coffee...a joyous cup that does no harm. I ordered a limited time drink they were promoting. A salted caramel latte. Now I know myself too well...that I should always stay loyal to my coffee choices and stick with the minimum sugar intake. The coffee was good but I wasn't thriving with the amount of sugar it had. I will continue to stick with the Vietnamese choice or a sugar free vanilla latte with almond milk. Those are always on my inviting side for Cafe Dulce. Their Little Tokyo location is also a great visit experience. They have some tasty breakfast burritos there. Other than that, a great cafe to check out with plenty of college students here minding their business.

So I looked for a coffee spot closer to the restaurant at which I could do some work. Alibi Coffee is only 10-15 minutes from the restaurant, which made it a good candidate--and off I went. It sits on the corner of Washington and Raymond Avenue. While there's one-hour parking on Washington, Raymond seems to offer unlimited parking (other than street cleaning days)--the friendly, helpful barista directed me over there. Inside, it's a tranquil, clean and comfortable environment that mixes contemporary touches with brick industrial vibes. I'm in my cream top era, so I decided to get their Trademark Cream Top Latte, which uses cold brew and house made cream with a hint of brown sugar.
