Egg and cheddar biscuit and an Earl Grey latte
    CB C.

Harun Coffee is definitely a community staple. Their Earl Grey latte was smooth, not too sweet. I paired it with a homemade biscuit and strawberry jam, egg and cheddar breakfast sandwich, which was delicious. The Harun staff always shows genuine love, too, and makes you feel welcome, no rush at all. Then that speakeasy annexed to the main cafe was a totally different mood, with low lights and a time-capsule, retro, music/art space with vintage furnishings. Leimert Park has that special energy where real culture and real community meet together. Harun Coffee is right where it belongs.

Such a cute hidden spot to chill, study, or just hang out for a bit. The whole vibe is very record store/music inspired and feels super cozy without trying too hard. The menu is pretty simple and they don't have a ton of pastry options, but honestly the quality of the coffee makes up for it. Everything tasted well made and balanced. The staff was also really welcoming and friendly, which always makes a difference. Plus they have wifi, so it's actually a great little place to get work done or relax for a while. Definitely one of those lowkey spots you almost don't want too many people finding out about lol.

    Vanilla Latte

It took me an embarrassingly long time to figure out that the wall was a door and the portal to one of the most comfortable cafes I've been in. Ordering was a breeze and the helpful staff got me a vanilla latte and the chicken biscuit in what felt like moments. Both were good and enjoyed in the side room that was an inviting warm/brown. The seating was plush and comfortable and folks could be found in every corner. Conversations, reading, and work were getting done everywhere I could see. I would want to go back for that feeling of community and comfort even if the food and bev weren't solid. Thankfully, you can count on both when going to Haydn!

Drink Menu as of June 2026

Drinks are a little expensive, but the quality is good, so I'll keep coming back. One thing I'll say- parking here sucks. This isn't Harun's fault. It's the whole street. The parking area is poorly designed. It's a waste of space. The parking spaces are TOO long. They could have diagonal parking on both sides, but then shorten them a little, AND have a 5 min temporary parking strip right in the middle so that cars can still pass through no prob. Again- not Harun's fault. Would love if the businesses would come together and make the parking better for everyone

    Smoked salmon biscuit
    Danielle L.

Yummy! Came to pick up a biscuit sandwhich with smoked salmon and loved it. The service was great. It's cozy and casual inside. But back to the biscuit: biscuit is perfect and soft. Salmon and capers were good, it just needed a squeeze of lemon juice to set it off. But I'd love to come back to try some coffee. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area!

Love the vibe and mantra behind the place. I need to check it out in the evening and see what it's like. The coffee was great and, importantly, came out quickly! The new space has a listening room next door which feels like the exact opposite to the main coffee shop with its very different fittings.

    Brok Up smoothie
    Zahra N.

Issa vibe! Great coffee, delish food--that egg and cheddar biscuit sandwich with fig jam hits!--and beautiful location! I've also had the Brok Up smoothie which was solid too. Love the dual nature of the place with the coffee shop on one side and lounge on the other. So happy it's back and better here in the community. Staff are warm and welcoming too.

    Shop facing outside

Dear Yelp Community, I visited for the first time this week, and what a pleasant surprise...much more than a coffee shop! Upon entry, I was greeted by a professional and pleasant man who made me a good chai latte and explained about the venue, then another man gave me a personal tour of the shop because there is another section that is divided by a secret door into a cozy room with high ceilings, diverse furniture (with descriptions on the wall in the other area of the shop with the espresso machine), an area as a platform for performers, a wall area for projected films, as well as restroom with information on the walls that portray the history of the neighborhood (Leimert Park) and African-American history (cultural heritage). Also, I was informed that this venue is a dry space (no alcohol), open very late, has a kitchen with food, and offers community events. I highly recommend this venue. Enjoy, and well wishes. Sincerely, Anna

Love Love the concept and vibe it has been my go to for a few weeks now. Early riser for the gym. For the most part the staff has been amazing, this morning's 7:15am customer service fell short. Maybe they weren't a morning person? I have had a Vanilla and Chocolate Latte(not a fan) Vanilla Yum. I plan on exploring the menu and checking out the lounge. Give it a try and support this local business. A morning greeting and thank you goes a long way when spending $8 for coff

And basically vibe is a non literal way of saying that a place has a striking and specific atmosphere that matches the objective of the place. For instance, if a beach has a vibe than it offers all that a beach should in a clear and present kind of way. And this place offers a multi-functional coffee house vibe that is clear and present. For instance, I can easily see friends catching up over latte's and croissants and feeling cozy enough to make the chat lazy in a most wonderful way, like laying on a bean bag with no midterms or mortgage payments near. I can also see people producing here. Whether it be beats, plays, books, or corporate re-structuring plan this place has a vibe that communicates one can focus to create. And that is the kind of vibe I like, cause it is the kind of vibe I need when I seek to produce. The focal point of the vibe were the work pods of the place. I took a picture of them and the way I did makes them seem like a row of catacombs or something like that. Something with infinite pillars. Why is sitting in pod important? Will my prose really be that much more impactful if I sit in a pod from this place as oppose to my kitchen table or a regular table that this place offers? Maybe. Perhaps not. But, like, science cannot explain why coffee taste better out of one's "coffee mug" but if one is a coffee drinker and one has a designated mug of their own, then one knows that coffee does taste more exquisite when the mug and the pour become one as vessel and brew. I am thinking the same concept applies here just in a different kind of way. Meaning that the work pod might not have any actual effect but a quasi-placebo or even self-fulfilling prophecy effect take place and make the person impacted produce work that sings better. I know my signatures are better when I use my favorite pen. I read a sign on the pods that ask visitors to only stay for 90 minutes, no more. So the pods of this place are regulated so they must be that important. And I can see why. At the basic level they are engaging to sit in and write within them. The last time I went I ordered one of the best iced coffees I ever had in my life and that is no cap. That felt good writhing, so I will say it anew: I ordered one of the best iced coffees I ever had. Meaning that on a random day, where I expected little, I try something new that makes me happy to be open to new cuisine even if the new cuisine is just a new flavor: Barry White. It was black berry with white chocolate. I expected the combination to fail in pleasing me. But I was wrong. Me. Not the drink. I loved the sweetness of the concoction. I also ordered their sweet potato chicken bowl. Another great set of bites, but not to my liking because I did not ask for the chili to be removed from the chicken bowl. But if the chili was gone I would have described this dish as the bomb or something similar. But the coffee takes the cake. I visited the place just yesterday and they had an exhibition titled the heartbeat of culture. I took a picture of two women just outside the bussiness on a festival day. They were wearing clothing of their cutlture. They were standing tall in pride, supporting each other, and reminding me that all people have a heart that shines brighter when they are wearing something that makes them feel powerful with color pop. This place is certainly a move when one is at Leimert Park or if one needs a place to work and they are just over the Hollywood coffee scene.

The natural light makes it a very welcoming environment. I ordered matcha and the turkey bacon and egg sandwich. It took about 10 min; they had a steady flow of traffic. This is a solid choice for a nice chat or meeting with someone. Check them out!

So I looked for a coffee spot closer to the restaurant at which I could do some work. Alibi Coffee is only 10-15 minutes from the restaurant, which made it a good candidate--and off I went. It sits on the corner of Washington and Raymond Avenue. While there's one-hour parking on Washington, Raymond seems to offer unlimited parking (other than street cleaning days)--the friendly, helpful barista directed me over there. Inside, it's a tranquil, clean and comfortable environment that mixes contemporary touches with brick industrial vibes. I'm in my cream top era, so I decided to get their Trademark Cream Top Latte, which uses cold brew and house made cream with a hint of brown sugar. The drink was smooth and not too sweet and, all in all, extremely enjoyable. Next time, I might try the Salted Caramel Cream Top Latte. I was warned it was a bit sweeter, but I'd like to see for myself. Wi-Fi seems solid, and there are plenty of outlets (yay!), so this was a great work spot. My first night/ visit: I came on a casual evening and sat at the bar. I ordered a variety of empanadas and a glass of Malbec. Finished with the chocolate banana dessert.
