Came in on a Tuesday afternoon and it was pretty full. I've been meaning to visit and finally made time. The space is open with high ceilings and had amazing photographs throughout. The natural light makes it a very welcoming environment. I ordered matcha and the turkey bacon and egg sandwich. It took about 10 min; they had a steady flow of traffic. The matcha was perfection and had excellent flavor (I got almond milk and lavender). The sandwich was also tasty and I LOVE that they have a turkey bacon option. This is a solid choice for a nice chat or meeting with someone. Check them out!
ORA is so cute, very relaxed vibes inside great music playing and quick service despite being busy. Also- the coffee was amazing!! I got an iced latte and it was so good and flavorful. Minus a star for lack of outlets- looked like they only had one section with a handful of outlets in the corner and none anywhere else. As you can imagine in that corner was coveted seating that I didn't have access to, and with a dying laptop I had to go elsewhere.
This place is a vibe. I did not grow up with this term in the schoolyard so I had to search what it meant to ensure I was using it right. And basically vibe is a non literal way of saying that a place has a striking and specific atmosphere that matches the objective of the place. For instance, if a beach has a vibe than it offers all that a beach should in a clear and present kind of way. And this place offers a multi-functional coffee house vibe that is clear and present. For instance, I can easily see friends catching up over latte's and croissants and feeling cozy enough to make the chat lazy in a most wonderful way, like laying on a bean bag with no midterms or mortgage payments near. I can also see people producing here. Whether it be beats, plays, books, or corporate re-structuring plan this place has a vibe that communicates one can focus to create. And that is the kind of vibe I like, cause it is the kind of vibe I need when I seek to produce. The focal point of the vibe were the work pods of the place. I took a picture of them and the way I did makes them seem like a row of catacombs or something like that. Something with infinite pillars. Why is sitting in pod important? Will my prose really be that much more impactful if I sit in a pod from this place as oppose to my kitchen table or a regular table that this place offers? Maybe. Perhaps not. But, like, science cannot explain why coffee taste better out of one's "coffee mug" but if one is a coffee drinker and one has a designated mug of their own, then one knows that coffee does taste more exquisite when the mug and the pour become one as vessel and brew. I am thinking the same concept applies here just in a different kind of way. Meaning that the work pod might not have any actual effect but a quasi-placebo or even self-fulfilling prophecy effect take place and make the person impacted produce work that sings better. I know my signatures are better when I use my favorite pen. I read a sign on the pods that ask visitors to only stay for 90 minutes, no more. So the pods of this place are regulated so they must be that important. And I can see why. At the basic level they are engaging to sit in and write within them. The last time I went I ordered one of the best iced coffees I ever had in my life and that is no cap. That felt good writhing, so I will say it anew: I ordered one of the best iced coffees I ever had. Meaning that on a random day, where I expected little, I try something new that makes me happy to be open to new cuisine even if the new cuisine is just a new flavor: Barry White. It was black berry with white chocolate. I expected the combination to fail in pleasing me. But I was wrong. Me. Not the drink. I loved the sweetness of the concoction. I also ordered their sweet potato chicken bowl. Another great set of bites, but not to my liking because I did not ask for the chili to be removed from the chicken bowl. But if the chili was gone I would have described this dish as the bomb or something similar. But the coffee takes the cake. I visited the place just yesterday and they had an exhibition titled the heartbeat of culture. I took a picture of two women just outside the bussiness on a festival day. They were wearing clothing of their cutlture. They were standing tall in pride, supporting each other, and reminding me that all people have a heart that shines brighter when they are wearing something that makes them feel powerful with color pop. This place is certainly a move when one is at Leimert Park or if one needs a place to work and they are just over the Hollywood coffee scene.

Not a big coffee girl so I usually grab the matcha or golden milk.. They've made a few tweaks to the menu where there's a lot more meat items. They've also hired a new chef.. I gotta try the smoked wings. Check their instagram or website because they have a lot of events going on through out the month.
I'm a huge fan of this place! Came here to study on a Friday morning. There's a ton of seating, good amount of outlets, and it's overall just a great space for locking into your work. The space is decorated nicely and the music/playlist was great. I ordered an iced flat white and it was perfectly balanced. The staff was very kind and helped me with figuring out the wifi. There was plenty of parking on the street and free parking in the neighborhoods. Overall, I'd definitely come back here for the vibes and to study.
The brisket cheese grits is good ! My 11 year old liked the avocado toast and brisket grill cheese! And the Raspberry Hibiscus tea scrumptious 4 days in a roll for me ! Busy and friendly environment with nice aesthetics. I've enjoyed Ora in my local community... Everyone there has been great and friendly! Peace and Blessings!
Parking: Easy street/neighborhood parking. I came in on a Sunday and there was a street market happening in front of the cafe, so I parked in a neighborhood a block away. Experience: I loved all the seating here! I got a peaches and cream matcha, which was delicious, and sat for a couple of hours and got some work done on my laptop. There weren't a lot of outlets, but the wifi was fast! I definitely want to come back and try the food!
This place is great to sip & work, or have a little 1-on-1 co-work meeting. There's plenty of tables & even little nooks. My iced mocha definitely served up a jolt of caffeinated energy. And the avocado toast was almost too pretty to eat. But......I totally devoured it & am happy to report it was just as yummy as it was pretty!
The best hazelnut iced latte I've ever had. My boyfriend ruined my day so I treated myself to a well deserved caffeinated drink to forget the disappointment. The first sip reminded me to stay grounded. I quietly enjoyed my friend's stories and conversations about her life. It was a beautiful escape in such a peaceful space.
I'm loving the upgrade from the previous Hot and Cool cafe to the now Ora. The people taking orders are cool, and the food is delicious. They've maintained a soulful vegan/vegetarian menu that's healthy and hits the palate just right. The Buffalo Cauliflower wrap is a favorite of mine, but it is pretty spicy. They have specialty drinks that are far from the ordinary like the Barry White Latte. My cousin was daring enough to try the Watermelon Cold brew and loved it. I've gotten the Blue Spirulina a few times and find it to be a nice mellow herbal latte to sip while strolling along Degnan. The vibe is lively, often with a live DJ, and there's always an eclectic, community relevant event happening. There is plenty of seating space, great for hanging out.
Such a beautiful spot with yummy food and drink. I came here for a group gathering and I'm glad i did, got to try out Ora Cafe.
I love this space! When you walk in, its quiet with lots of room to sit, work or eat. I came in with a friend and we walked up to the counter and was greeted politely. My friend ordered a mango smoothie and the lentils. I ordered the berry smoothie and the ORA avocado toast. We were both pleased with the taste, portion and speed of the food delivery. I will definitely come back for another bite to eat or sip to drink. Depending on the day you go, parking could be impossible with the vendors on the parking spots but there is a huge lot in the back that can be used.
If you're looking for a wfh place, this is it! I came right as it opened with a colleague and it was nice and quiet. The space was so beautiful and well lit. I got a strawberry matcha and a veggie breakfast sandwich. Both were good! My colleague got the grits and a smoothie. She loved both! The staff were so so kind. My first time here. When I walked i noticed it was busy and had a nice vibe. People were sitting down having drinks, chatting and working. I ordered the wings and curry lentil soup. The food was ok, I was disappointed that I found a rock in my soup. I understand that rocks can be found in lentils but if you properly sift through them before cooking then you will eliminate the risk of having someone chomp down on a rock. When I first started eating them I noticed really small sand like crunch but I ignored it and as I continued I found a rock that should have been noticed by the person cleaning the beans. When you order the food comes as to go but you can sit at one of the tables and enjoy your food. Street parking is available and there's a parking lot in the rear. read more

This is a perfect cafe spot. You come in and you can immediately get a sense of the community. The mood was vibrant and exuberant, making a perfect place where you could find comfort being surrounded by a user group that feels like they know one another. I was waiting in line and another customer next to me had no issues roping me into a conversation he was having with another person. He made a funny joke which I found very endearing! The interior was beautiful and I loved the variety of seating for different sized groups. There were even comfy reading/study seating for solo customers. All around the decor was very tasteful, I appreciated the contrast that the contemporary interior had with the exposed wood ceiling along with conservative lighting that was warm and cozy. I didn't really get to try most of the food since I wasn't really all that hungry but the dish names were creative and there were a lot of menu options if you had dietary restrictions so it was all inclusive. Unfortunately they ran out of mango by the time I got to order but I still was able to get a peach ginger tea, and for what I thought was going to be rather bitter actually ended up being pretty balanced with a good amount of sweetness to be refreshing. read more

I love the atmosphere here! It's an amazing Black-owned spot where you can work on your laptop or just chill with friends. The vibe is great, they play a mix of throwback R&B, hip hop, and some of the latest hits too. The service was excellent and everyone was super friendly. I ordered the Soul Bowl, which is completely vegan. It came with rice, mac and cheese, collard greens, and BBQ jackfruit "chicken." Everything was flavorful and so satisfying. Want to try out a new coffee shop and hurry great things about this one it's very spacious lots of seating areas. I tried one of them latte specials, which was good their coffee prices were very affordable. The lady helping was very friendly what year was one older lady at least she had drinks. She was quite rude, and sometimes it's not what you say. It's how you say it that makes the difference and I know it's not just me because there's other reviews about her. I recommend checking it out. Seems like a great neighborhood spot. I believe they host events, they have merch. They offer pastries and if you want fuller meals they have vegan options available. I would probably stop by again if I was in the area. read more
Nice spot to study with chill ambiance and spacious interior. There is plenty of street parking but mostly metered. If you want free parking there some streets with no meters a block or two away. I got the lavender honey latte and the coffee tasted good, although it was really sweet. My friend got the rose vanilla and it was way too sweet for her. The coffee itself is solid but I think they overdid it on the syrups. Overall it's a nice spot to study at but I would definitely ask for less sweetness if you're not a fan of overly sweet coffees. read more

I've had several different bites and drinks at Ora and I'm not ever disappointed. I've been many times and always find parking as well as a seat to enjoy my drink and bite or tunnel in to do some work. The avocado toast is my absolute fav and I get it every time as well as pair it with a smoothie or a hot tea. They have a great and genuine team there that's passionate about the brand and the quality of products. It's a great place to experience and this place has been opened but they renovated the inside. I love it here and recommend it to anyone and everyone. read more

I came here on a Saturday afternoon. There is no private lot to park, but there is street parking. This place is quite large inside with places to sit and chat or work. They had soft music playing and people seemed to be relaxed. I ordered an iced chagaccino and a hot golden latte. The golden latte was tasty, but the chagaccino needs some work. It's supposed to be a stronger taste and this tasted like slightly flavored milk. read more

Love ORA. It's so nice and chill inside with just the right amount of music, not too much, not too little, and not intrusive if trying to get work done. There's plenty of space so it's not cramped in there and I've never seen so many people that it's crowded at all. Other than the space which is awesome they also have great coffee. But honestly my favorite part of ORA is their fantastic pastries. They're so good - not too sweet, and perfectly moist. I've tried the banana, the ginger carrot, and the crumb cake. Update: They open at 8am now, and from 8-9am drinks are half off. Food -- A lot of items are vegan, but I got the green eggs wrap. It's broccoli, kale, eggs, hummus in a spinach wrap. I didn't love it though, not enough eggs. Drinks -- Grabbed a hazelnut latte and it was really good. Not super hot so I need to remember to ask them to make it extra hot next time. Vibes -- The music is good. The WiFi is strong enough for working. It's a community space so some people are working, chatting, reading, etc. They have a nice book collection as well on the shelves. read more

UPDATE: During Kwanzaa 2024, I decided to embrace its principles by having a business meeting at the newly reopened ORA formerly called Hot and Cool Café. The establishment has undergone significant improvements and features a fresh look with the same owners. I ordered the Green Eggs burrito, and it was delicious. We experienced extra-mile service by the new business manager, AI mara'at. Thank you. I loved the old Hot and Cool Café, and I love ORA even more. The atmosphere is filled with creativity and positive energy. The walls, floors, and decor all reflect cultural pride and a sense of community. The food is absolutely scrumptious, and everything I've tried has brought my taste buds to ecstasy. It's rare for me to eat out and not feel the need to add seasoning. You can truly feel that the food is prepared with a lot of love. Recently, I brought my family from Texas here for brunch, and they couldn't stop thanking me while praising their meals. The children enjoyed the vegan sliders and finished everything, while the parents fell in love with the vegan nachos and appreciated the generous portions. My wife ordered the Soul Bowl and wished she could have had more. I opted for the vegan breakfast burrito, which was completely satisfying. The family also loved the flavors of their smoothies, and they even tried to get the recipe so they could replicate it back in Texas. I highly recommend the Hot and Cool Café in the legendary Leimert Park Village. When you visit, be sure to tell them Omar sent you! read more
I visited on a Thursday morning around 11:00am the atmosphere is nice, I love the interior design and the music selection. I work remotely throughout the week and I enjoy visiting coffee shops. This is definitely a good place to stop by and get some work done. I didn't get a chance to take any good photos but it's definitely a vibe. read more

This is a very spacious coffee shop, seating is plentiful, drinks are good and the good menu is tasty and health conscious. The staff is also really friendly and makes good recommendations if it's your first time. I got the pistachio latte, which was not too sweet and still tasted like coffee, it was a great balance. The Soul Bowl was also filling and tasty, a little hefty on the price ($17), but that's expected these days, especially for quality food. The protein base was vegan, so its not really meat but was still good. Highly recommend to this place to hang out, eat, or get work done! They also have events at this location too. read more

Based in the historic Leimert Park District. Bold. Rich. with Deep Taste Sounds and Architecture. The space is full of textures, expressions and archways. The mixture of polished stone, wood and warm cement this spaces speaks to the taste of the owner and his travels around the world. Ora's tasting menu is experimental, yet tasteful. Highly recommend the watermelon cold brew. read more

I was looking for a place to work from and I saw this on IG and decided to give it a try today and I was so happy.., good vibes .. music playing , folks working and private conversation but nothing overlapped.
