I'm sharing this in hopes that the service and overall experience will improve. Everything takes an unusually long time. I've visited Tal's three times in recent months, and unfortunately, the excessive wait has been consistent. During one visit, I waited more than 45 minutes for my food, only to receive the wrong meal. When I brought it to the server's attention, she acknowledged that it was indeed the wrong order but then I had to wait another 25 minutes for them to correct it. On another visit, it took nearly an hour just to receive ice water and coffee. Apparently, they needed to brew a fresh pot, which was surprising for a restaurant that primarily serves breakfast. Once the coffee was finally ready, guests who arrived after me were served first. My food took more than an hour to arrive that day, although thankfully, the order was correct. During my most recent visit, the water and coffee came right away, but the food still took an extremely long time. The servers seem to rely heavily on memory rather than writing things down, so requests are frequently forgotten. I've also watched completed orders sit on the counter for 15-20 minutes before being brought to the tables. Although the servers can be friendly, they sometimes come across as aloof - especially when guests have been waiting for an extended period. The simplest communication would go a long way. Even a quick, "I'm sorry your food is taking so long; it should be out shortly," would make a difference. Instead, you're practically ignored and left wondering whether anyone is even aware of how long you've been waiting. The lack of acknowledgment when guests enter is another issue. I've seen people walk in and receive no greeting or direction at all...not even a quick, "Welcome to Tal's, we'll be right with you," or, "Please feel free to seat yourself." Instead, guests are left standing awkwardly, unsure of what to do. Breakfast food is generally served fairly quickly, but that has not been my experience at Tal's. The food is good, which is exactly why I hope management will address the organization, communication, attentiveness, and wait times. Tal's has so much potential, but the service needs to become far more efficient for the overall experience to match the quality of the food.

I yelped for a place and Antojito's Martin (Centinela location) came up first. When I went in the atmosphere wash fresh and friendly. Ashly greeted me with her wonderful energy showing me the options. The one that stood out to me was the Blackberry and Elderberry Fresca. DELICIOUS! Let's just say since I had that one I have been back every week since. They don't just have Agua Frescas, they have smoothies, fresh juice and food. Alll delicious! Ashly is now the Agua Fresca Goddess in my contacts because she makes so many different flavors and balances the sweetness and freshness perfectly and made with care. Strawberry Apple, Watermelon Papaya, Grape Apple lemonade you name it. No sugar Added! All natural sugars and the freshest fruits/ ingredients used. I love this place. To all my juice and soda drinkers, this will replace your craving for that sugar filled drink. This is something healthier and way tastier!

When you walk in the door you place your order on a large screen and pay on screen before sitting down. The staff came over to us as soon as we arrived, asked if this was our first time there (which it was) and explained how to order. I ordered scrambled eggs hard, grits, wingettes and a waffle. Everything was cooked to order hot and fresh. The grits were good but you definitely have to season them with salt as they have no seasoning at all. I'm sure that's on purpose so you can season to taste. What I found lacking with the grits was the butter. We had to ask for butter. The chicken was good but slightly salty for me. Although the waffle had a good flavor and was cooked well it has a lot of cinnamon. The waffle was so brown it looked like a wheat waffle. I'm not fond of that much cinnamon. My hubby had grits, catfish, eggs over medium potatoes and a biscuit. He said everything was good and seasoned well except for the grits. His grits also needed butter. Overall it was a good experience. I'm always eager to support small businesses.
