MATCHA: When in LA , be kind to yourself and get a Blueberry matcha from Cafe Dulce ! Got there early after my morning walk and there was a bit of a line but nothing compared to prior days . Went during the lunch hour and it was pretty crowded but the line move really quick. The staff was really nice , the prices were great and the donuts was praise worthy in my opinion. They do have sitting inside and outside. Parking was free and I would definitely go back. I have a few more flavors I want to try. Coffee O' clock in the evening hours? Yes please! A female must have while being productive. It's an urge, an eagerness and a joy. I was pleased to get some Cafe Dulce nearby while I shopped at Trader Joe's and Target in the USC village. This cafe does have a top of the range Vietnamese coffee...a joyous cup that does no harm. I ordered a limited time drink they were promoting. A salted caramel latte. Now I know myself too well...that I should always stay loyal to my coffee choices and stick with the minimum sugar intake. The coffee was good but I wasn't thriving with the amount of sugar it had. I will continue to stick with the Vietnamese choice or a sugar free vanilla latte with almond milk. Those are always on my inviting side for Cafe Dulce. Their Little Tokyo location is also a great visit experience. They have some tasty breakfast burritos there. Other than that, a great cafe to check out with plenty of college students here minding their business. read more

This place is always crowded and there's usually a line outside. They have coffees, tea, pastries and salads as well as sandwiches. We went for dessert and got a pecan tart and a fruit danish. Both were a good size serving. The pecan tart was 10/10 good taste & texture. The fruit danish looked better than it tasted 4/10. This relative newcomer to the LA food scene became such an iconic cafe. I cannot imagine the campus and the USC Village without the long line for Dulce. Of course, I always get Blueberry Matcha when I am there. I also love their Chicken Mango Salad and Portobello Sandwich. Their selection of seasonal pastry is way too tempting for this dancer who is trying to stay away from sugar and flour. The permanent feature of dessert - fruit tart - is the bomb. A couple of tips: - if you have a return for Amazon, it's next door, bring it and validate the parking there. - also, and I hope I won't regret spilling this secret: you can skip the line by ordering ahead. You also get discounts once you are on their mailing/sms list. Great people watching, so waiting in line - it goes fast - might be a part of the experience. read more

The food: Green Tea Roti is what my friend and I came here for. It was pretty good, although it did not have that matcha flavor, which, for me, was a good thing, as I don't like matcha-flavored anything but my friend was a bit disappointed, lol. The service: The line runs out the door and they explicitly ask people to line outside so as to avoid the inside to get too crowded, I think that's a fantastic ideas as the outside has near limitless space (this Cafe Dulce is nested inside the USC Village, so there's PLENTY of room to make a line even almost half a mile long, lol. The ambiance: it was ok, I did like that one column that's full of stickers, it's very hipster and fits the criteria of being part of a vibrant and active college campus such as USC. read more

Cafe Dulce is a coffee and tea shop located at the University Village across the street from USC. Parking here can be tough. There is street parking and an underground structure, but this location is shared with a Trader Joe's and Target among other shops and restaurants, making it very busy. Upon entering, the space seems clean and there are tables inside and outside to sit at. Inside might be good for studying or working, but noise level is moderate. Came here on a Sunday afternoon with family. We were not greeted upon entering and it was not very busy. We ordered a Blueberry Matcha Latte, a Chacha Matcha, and a seasonal Pumpkin Pie Latte. All drinks were ordered with light ice. The drinks came out fairly quickly. The Blueberry Matcha tasted watered down. There was a faint blueberry flavor but it tasted artificial. The Chacha Matcha is essentially a Matcha Americano. The matcha seemed good quality. It was earthy and smooth. We ordered the small size for each of these drinks which is 16 ounces. The Pumpkin Pie Latte is only offered in 10 or 12 ounces which is a bit odd. I did not try it, but the person who ordered it was happy with it. Overall, giving Cafe Dulce a 4/5. Service and ambiance were okay and did not stand out. Drinks are okay. There are mixed reviews across the ones we ordered. There is also food on the menu. Might come back to try the food or other drinks. read more

Dulce is easily one of my all-time favorite coffee shops. The drinks are consistently excellent, and there's something here for every kind of mood. Highlights: the Vietnamese coffee (bold, sweet, and uniquely flavorful), the Dulce latte (a treat that feels indulgent but never over the top), and the iced matcha latte (smooth, balanced, and not overly sweet). On the food side, the breakfast burritos are hearty and satisfying, while the breakfast sandwich is phenomenal -- simple, but perfectly done. Still great! I visit here often but want to post about consistency! Premium Matcha large with almond milk 50% sweetness add honey, winning! Breakfast burrito with bacon (comes in crispy bits) has potatoes and onions and eggs and cheese, yum! Didn't get it today but because it rocks just say yes to the Oreo Cheesecake like yassssssss kinda YES! Parking is $5/30 mins after the first 2 hours. The food and drinks are good, but a recent experience with one staff member significantly impacted my visit and has made me reconsider returning if she is working. Additionally, the music volume was excessively loud, which detracted from the overall atmosphere. The female staff member with brown hair and highlighted bangs was consistently rude and displayed an unprofessional attitude, particularly when calling out food orders. I needed to do something at USC Credit Union at the village so I stopped by here. I got the Blueberry Matcha Latte and a Pesto Chicken Sandwich. The blueberry matcha was absolutely delicious. It had a perfect mix of matcha and blueberry flavor without feeling artificial. The pesto sandwich was solid as well, good size and tasty/fresh. I was walking around just checking the area out, and decided to get some tea. I chose this cafe because it was pretty busy, which I take to be a good sign. I got an apple spiced tea latte. It was a pretty solid drink. I noticed most people ordered matcha. If it weren't (personally) too late in the day for caffeine, I would've loved to try one. I'm a matcha girl through-and-through. Maybe next time, because I can see myself coming back. There's also a nice variety of food. Service was good and I got my drink quickly, despite how busy it was. My only note is that I noticed crumbs on the standing counter & several tables. Regardless, it is a nice cafe overall. read more

Had higher hopes for Dulce based on all the TikToks raving about it as a top spot--it was just okay. They premade the matcha in a large container, which causes it to lose its tea flavor. It mostly tastes like sweet milk and doesn't have the strong tea flavor the color would suggest. The service is fast and I was inside the door within 9 mins regardless of 13+ people ahead of me on a Saturday. read more

The blueberry matcha here is one of my favorite drinks! I try to make it a point to get this whenever I'm in little Tokyo! It's really great that they have milk alternatives for people with lactose intolerance. The interior is small but there are additional tables outside. Lovely bakery/cafe located at USC Village! I usually come here whenever I'm at the village. I absolutely love their blueberry matcha. It's sweet and the blueberry and matcha flavors go really well together. I've tried the blueberry matcha at other Cafe Dulce locations and I think this location does it the best. This time I went, I also tried their pesto chicken and their spicy chicken sandwiches that my friend and I split. They were both great! My favorite was the pesto chicken which was flavorful with the pesto and cheesy. The spicy chicken was good too, but my friend and I would've liked it more if it was savory. The chicken in both sandwiches was the perfect amount and juicy. The bread was easy too eat and wasn't to dry. I also especially liked the side salads which were refreshing and tasted great and healthy. There's also a lot of unique pastries that look good and I want to try in future visits. There's usually a long-line here, but it moves pretty fast. There's also a parking garage on the bottom floor which is usually free for the first 90 minutes or something like that. read more

Obviously a popular spot for the area. The queue is always long but move rather fast as I noticed most people were ordering matcha latte (I'm no exception) and they have premade it in a big dispenser so they get the orders out the door very quickly. Matcha was very tasty, though on the sweet side, which I'm not complaining about. Coffee here isn't exceptional but it gets us going. Breakfast burrito was very yummy with egg, potato, bacon, etc. inside - very flavorful. Café dulce is a small cafe located in the heart of Los Angeles near Santee Alley. This place looked intriguing to me because of the various custom lattes they offer as well as the cute pink aesthetic vibe this place was going for. I tried the Dulce de leche latte which to my surprise was pretty good. I never expect much from sweet lattes as it is as described however this latte wasn't overpowering in the sweetness in anyway. I was able to taste the coffee, milk, & Dulce de leche perfectly in each sip. I did wish it was colder though however the temperature was fine. Service here was great, our cashier waited patiently as my indecisiveness took over. This cafe is small but spacious where it doesn't feel like it's crowded or overwhelming. It is located on a busy street so parking is very minimal and definitely metered. Give this place a try as they have cute aesthetics + good coffee. read more

I ordered the Spicy Chicken sandwich, which had herb-roasted chicken breast, tomatoes, house slaw, provolone & sweet chili sauce, and the Peanut Kale salad, which had fresh herbs, serrano, roasted peanut vinaigrette & grated reggiano. Everything was so fresh and delicious, especially the bread on the sandwich!!!! I appreciated that they had plenty of vegan options for my vegan friend, and can't wait to come back and try other ones, and their burrito that other reviewers have raved about. After I respectfully told the barista that she made the wrong drink, she refused to make it the right way and instead decided to be condescending and rude to me, for no reason! I was very nice to her. I come to Dulce all the time, so this is very surprising to me. Her manager in the black shirt then tried to remedy the situation by giving us a fake manager number, and she also refused to give us her name. I will NEVER step foot in here again. read more

Idk what's going on with Dulce but I've been coming here for some time and when I mean time I mean years and one thing that I do know is everyone comes here for the matcha specifically the blueberry matcha. Now they either changed the formula or something because you can barely taste the matcha or blueberry and at this point it just taste like milk...not matcha not blueberry nothing. I got let down by the matcha so bad recently I decided maybe I need to try something stronger so I tried the Premium Matcha and it's literally just unsweetened matcha or it just taste like unsweetened version of the regular matcha which is so wild to me $8 for unsweetened matcha latte that barely tasted like a proper matcha latte. The lack of effort and care is the reason why this last time I went will be my last visit. read more

First time here, there was a long line outside the shop so we were hesitant to come in but we decided to try it. We were in & out really fast! The young lady at the register was very friendly and patient. I ordered the Vanilla Latte with Almond Milk & Turkey Swiss Sandwich. My latte was flavorful and delicious. The Turkey Swiss was satisfying next time I will ask for the bread less toasted, the salad it came with was made with high quality! My family ordered Iced Matcha, Pesto Chicken Sandwich, Breakfast Burrito, and French Toast. I personally wasn't a big fan of the burrito but the rest was delicious! 5/5 - Café Dulcé, you have my heart! I wish we had a Café Dulcé at The Collection in Oxnard because WOW it would be such a perfect fit! But honestly... I don't even mind making the drive because this place is divine. Their airy little donuts? So fluffy, full of flavor, and perfectly balanced--not too sweet. And only $1.50 each?! A total steal. I also tried the blueberry roti and WOW. It reminded me of a concha, but softer, not dry at all, and that jelly inside is amazing. My son fell in love with the mango donut--he devoured it in minutes! I ordered the matcha latte twice, the second time I was hoping it'll be better but no. The matcha isn't freshly made it is kept in a jug. Who knows how long it's been there, all they do it shake it then pour it into the cup. The matcha isn't good at all, I'm deeply disappointed. As expected since it's near campus, the line was long but it went pretty fast. I'm always excited to get the iced blueberry matcha when I'm in DTLA, however, the drink at this location fell short. I tasted matcha but more of the oat milk. The fruity rice krispy was good and not too sweet. I saw cakes in the display but didn't realized you could buy slices as the cakes were positioned where you really can't see from the register. The cashier was also friendly. read more

OMG! Why did my daughter tell me about this place? I ordered the blueberry matcha latte and a blueberry scone. They were both DELICIOUS! It was the best match drink that I've ever had. I usually get the blueberry scone at Starbucks but this one was way better. I was expecting the drink to be a blueish green color but it wasn't. I assumed that it would have fresh blueberries in it but I think they just use blueberry flavored syrup. It was still very good though. I will be back to try a different drink and pastry! read more

My recent breakfast experience at Cafe Dulce in the USC food court was deeply disappointing and frankly, unacceptable. The most glaring issue was the shockingly inconsiderate behavior of the staff. In the middle of our meal, a staff member abruptly took chairs from right under us, forcing us to stand. This rude and disrespectful action compelled us to leave immediately, cutting our visit short. Additionally, the overall service was remarkably slow, adding to our frustration. During what is usually a busy breakfast time, such inefficiency is particularly noticeable and inconvenient. The cafe's seating situation was also dismal. Very limited seating was available, and the few spots that were, including the bar counter where we initially found space, were poorly maintained and unclean. The counter was stained and covered in cooking liquids, indicative of a lack of attention to cleanliness. As for the food, the breakfast burrito I ordered was smaller than expected, which was disappointing. The only redeeming aspect of the visit was the coffee, which was actually quite good. However, this small positive was completely overshadowed by the unpleasant experience caused by the lack of clean seating and the appalling behavior of the staff. In summary, while the coffee at Cafe Dulce might be commendable, the overall experience was ruined by slow service, inadequate and dirty seating, and, most notably, the disrespectful treatment by the staff. The service here is truly outstanding. Every visit feels welcoming because the staff is not only friendly but also genuinely attentive, always going the extra mile to make your experience special. Today, Kevin took care of me, and his overall kindness and attention to detail made my visit all the more enjoyable. The atmosphere is consistently vibrant and full of energy, no matter what time of day you stop by. This has quickly become one of my favorite neighborhood spots for a refreshing matcha, and their pastries are simply unforgettable, perfectly crafted and absolutely delicious!
