I wanted a quick fix for my matcha cravings so I decided to come here since there were great reviews. Upon arriving, the server was extremely welcoming & friendly! He took his time in explaining the drinks to us with their respective options. I decided to go with their most expensive matcha ($8.95) since I am very particular with the quality. I waited around 10 minutes before receiving my drink. The drink was a vibrant green & appeared very promising. Upon my first sip, all I tasted was milk. I was quite disappointed. I didn't get the matcha taste that I was looking for. I was expecting more since it was their best matcha. I don't think I would come back again for their matcha, although their customer service was great.

Post theater coffee - got the Furious George!

Always on the lookout for cafes to try and leaflet popped up on the radar! So glad we made the time to stop by (though check their hours as they close in the afternoon). Ordered the furious George and my girlfriend got the mocha! We loved both and got the Vietnam and Manhattan espressos respectively! I'm curious how different the mahattan would have made it though. The inside of the cafe has a super cozy vibe - lots of wood and plants - def worth a check out if you're in Monterey Park!

    Kagoshima matcha latte
    Sarah Y.

Cute little spot with unique options! I got the Kagoshima matcha which was solid (rich, balanced, moderate astringency according to their menu). I personally prefer a higher matcha to milk ratio, but it was still solid! I appreciated the other matcha options to choose from (i.e. Kyoto, Okumidori), which made it a fun experience rather than having one standard matcha option. There is a parking lot but it may take a few rounds to find parking sometimes. Friendly staff.

Staff is very friendly and helpful Has about 5 tables inside to sit and chat with friends. Some seating on the outside as well. I got the 2 shots of espresso, sweetened with brown sugar, jasmine flavor and your choice of milk (Lactose free 2% as default) I got the viet blend for my coffee and it was mild and wasn't sure strong. You have two options of beans for your coffee. One is stronger than the other and the barista will advise you of the difference. I can taste the coffee and the jasmine tea notes, which was very refreshing and pleasant.

Furious George (50% sweetness, Vietnam roast, almond milk)

Was driving through the area and looking for my morning coffee and decided to stop here. Leaflet has some amazing flavor combos to choose from. I ultimately decided on the "furious George" which is a banana and vanilla latte. I love the ability to customize your drink. I was able to adjust sweetness, milk, and even pick which of the espresso roasts I wanted. They explained to me the difference between the two and how the roast impacts the flavors in the drink. I went with the Vietnam roast which brings more of the flavor out in the banana. I also dropped my sweetness down to 50% and it was perfect! Not too sweet but the banana comes through. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The space is cute, but small. Not great for large groups to congregate and hang out but enough space to sit and enjoy your drink with a friend or two or to do some light work or studying. There is parking all around, including a structure in the back. I found a 15 min spot just on the side. I'll be back here for sure.

Leaflet Coffee & Tea House in Monterey Park is such an aesthetically cute spot. The space feels cozy and thoughtfully designed, making it a great place to relax, catch up with a friend, or just enjoy a drink in a calm atmosphere. One thing that really stood out to me was the staff. Everyone here was incredibly friendly and helpful, which made the experience feel even more welcoming. You can definitely tell that their specialty is the matcha drinks. They seem to put a lot of care into them, and that's clearly what they're known for. I did try the Le Vie En Rose Latte, and unfortunately it was a little disappointing. I was expecting more of a rose flavor, but it mostly just had dried rose petals on top and I couldn't really taste the rose in the drink itself. Overall, it's still a very cute café with great service, and if you're a matcha lover it's probably a great spot to check out.

This is a very underrated coffee shop in the Monterey Park area! Conveniently located on Atlantic Blvd with nearby food, bookstores, and shops along the street, this coffee shop has accessible parking spaces. The shop itself is small and has suitable seating for their size but has a relaxed and comfortable environment that makes you want to come back. I have visited this shop multiple times, trying their different coffee/matcha options and I was always pleasantly surprised. I love their blend of simple and creative options that make you intrigued to try them based on the names (e.g., Furious George)! Their coffee and matcha is the perfect way to start your day or in the middle of the day as a sweet treat. They have available pastry items including different croissants (i.e., original, ham and cheese) if you would like to add into your purchase. Their personnel are always friendly, greeting you as soon as you enter the door with a smile and bright energy. They never fail to answer any questions we may have and provide us with their best sellers and personal opinions on the drinks - which are useful to newcomers who have never tried their drinks. Definitely recommend to anyone looking to support smaller businesses and for those looking for good coffee!

    Luxurious George

Cozy spot for coffee and matcha! I ordered the Luxurious George which can be likened to a banana jasmine matcha latte. The average pricing is $7-8/drink for their specialty lattes. The drink was not too sweet and had a good jasmine flavor, though the banana flavor was light. There are a handful of tables, but with strong wifi, outlets available, and the music (indie/folk) was at the perfect volume. Service was friendly and prompt. Parking is readily available in the plaza. I'd definitely return to try the rest of their interesting menu!

This is a hidden gem coffee shop in the SGV. I appreciate the fact that we went on a Sunday morning and there's still plenty of indoor seating. I also must say that the inside is very cute. With their array of drinks, the barista was very kind and guided me what kind of drink I would enjoy the most. I ended up getting the Luxurious George and highly enjoyed my drink. My friend got the Blue Butterfly and she also enjoyed her drink. I would go back and try more drinks they offer!

Looks very nice & relaxing inside! Workers were all real nice and ran through the menu with us! Matcha lovers should try this place out but definitely plenty on the menu to try! We ordered the matcha latte with honey added & la vie en rose latte. They have different matchas to choose from based on your preference & you can adjust sweetness on your drinks which is always a huge plus! Will definitely come again to try all of the other drinks!

Okumidori matcha w/brown sugar, less sweet
    Katie C.

I tried the okumidori matcha latte w/ oat milk, less sweetened w brown sugar as the worker recommended. Not sure why a sweetner is an added charge.. It is described as a umami, creamy note and I could appreciate the lightness yet umami of the matcha, though it was helpful they have a sheet of paper to show the different matchas they offer/customizations. I enjoyed the quality and would love to try their more nutty matcha next. Is a cute little shop with limited seating, so it is more of a grab&go spot, but glad I got to try it.

I ordered the Furious George ($7.75 - iced). It's a banana & vanilla cafe latte with one floating banana chip. Sadly, I still felt sleepy after drinking it. Its caffeine is weak; the banana and vanilla taste are very faint; and this liquid is more comparable to a milky, chill tea. I arrived at Leaflet Coffee House (Monrovia Park) on Wednesday (around 10:58AM). Parking is surprisingly easy. There's several 15 minute green parking spots nearby. Also, there's a large parking structure in its plaza. Concerning service, Leaflet Coffee House (Monrovia Park) is surprisingly stellar and distinct. Staff felt extremely friendly as they spoke softly with a regular, bright smile. I can easily imagine customers submitting "Five Stars" for only its lovely service. I ordered the Furious George ($7.75 - iced). It took three minutes for completion. Fairly quick. As mentioned, I did not enjoy my Furious George. It lacks utility while also tasting somewhat bland. It's like "coffee" for people who dislike coffee. The drink is not bitter nor coarse; rather, its liquid felt more comparable to milk tea. Strangely enough, this beverage's crunchy banana chip was the highlight since it carried actual flavor. Regarding ambiance, Leaflet Coffee House (Monrovia Park) is exemplary. Despite its small location and dingy plaza, this small business felt like a college student's cherished secret. This location had airy ventilation, customer wifi with password, & several electric wall sockets to charge devices. It's also very clean as light upbeat pop music plays. The location is also gorgeous as its flowers cascade near its ceiling. I also appreciated the cold water station by the counter. Unfortunately, my biggest gripe will be the lack of indoor restroom; they only offer a restroom key for the parking garage's restroom. Regardless, the pleasant & welcoming ambiance at Leaflet Coffee House (Monrovia Park) is a big strongpoint. Overall, Leaflet Coffee House (Monrovia Park) offers outstanding service and ambiance. However, its Furious George ($7.75) is very disappointing with its bland taste and weak caffeine. Still, if you're a college student searching for a place to study, I recommend. 4.4 out of 5

    Matcha latte in glass cup

My go-to matcha spot in the SGV! I love hanging out here whether it's alone or with friends and enjoying their iced matcha lattes. My favorite so far has been the Chiran matcha latte. I love getting it with oat milk, simple syrup, half sweet. Perfection! Everyone that works here is also soooo nice. Very welcoming place overall and the vibes are chill. Sometimes it gets a little warm in there on hot days and they don't always have the AC on high but otherwise, very nice place to hang out for a bit. Seating is limited - inside, there's about four tables for 2 people and two spots for if you have a slightly bigger group (like if you need to accommodate 4-5 people, I'd say.) They also have a few tables out front too. Every time I come, it seems popular as a place to just grab your drink and go so seating is usually available. Lucky for me because I love spending time here reading, drawing, or catching up on my hobonichi with my drink! Great place, great matcha, great people! Can't wait to go back :)

I asked for a recommendation between drinks and they mentioned if I want a hot drink - Miso White would be good; for a cold drink - Lychee Tonic would be ideal. It was a hotter day, so I opted for the Lychee Tonic. Since it was busy, the wait was ~ 10 minutes for the drink. After giving it a try, it tasted refreshing but I didn't really get the lychee taste. Not the best first impression with the tonic. However, I'd still consider coming back considering their ambience. Also absolutely interested to try their pour over options!
