We went found this hidden gem tucked away by the East Los Angeles College area. The Plaza has plenty of different stores and cafes as well, but as a match connoisseur, I saw great reviews about their drinks and could not pass up. The drink that we got was called the Luxurious George, but if match is not your cup of tea then fear not, they also have a drink called the Furious George which is a coffee version. Drink: The drink itself was fine. We opted for the baseline of 100% sweetness, regular ice, and oat milk (regular 2% milk is preferred!). I was surprised to not have tasted much of the banana flavor as I hoped for. Maybe it was the oat milk overpowering the taste. The matcha itself had a light flavor, despite the color, it was not bold but palatable. Price: The Luxurious George was definitely a luxury because it costed around $8. So the total for two drinks were around $17 plus tax and tips. The price is definitely on a higher side but in exchange for quality matcha? Which one would you like? Service: The staff were really friendly. It was our first time here and we asked for recommendations. They took their time answering all of our questions and finished our orders really fast. Updating my review to highlight a very frustrating trend I've noticed: some cafes do not train their baristas to froth milk correctly, I'm guessing since most people order iced and I've never had problems with leaflet until today. I was humming and hawing on whether or not to write this but ultimately I'm hoping the owners see my review and take note. My hot latte was overly foamy and the texture just wasn't right. It tasted fine but as a regular who even tips I feel like quality of the product I recieve should reflect the price I'm paying with my hard earned money. Its a smaller space so more pick up and go but they do have some space if you want to stay and chat or work. Staff have always been nice and friendly and they have a lot of fun drinks (both teas and coffees). I think I always try a jasmine based drink but the jasmine never really comes through. Cute little coffee place. Seems like alot of college students come here. I have been wanting jasmine coffee for along time ever since i tried it. And leaflet has it. You can Taste the jasmine in the coffee. So good. Furious george was also amazing. You can taste the banana and it doesnt even have the banana cream foam. It seems like they will remake you drink if something doesnt taste right as well because they asked if it tastes good. But im not sure since i loved mines. They have the cutest pikachu chillin on a shelf. If you eat or drink inside, there is a plave to return your cup or dish. From the specially curated menu to the cozy indoor and outdoor seating areas, leaflet was lovely. I have to say I enjoyed the fact that they had two brew options, a light roast and a dark roast! I also liked that their syrups are made in house. I got a banana vanilla latte with manhattan roast (light roast) and it was good! I did appreciate the fact that I could still taste the coffee and it wasn't overpowered by the syrup and milk. Where did the flavor go? I've been to Leaflet a few times, the last time sometime last year or early this year during winter. I've only had the Luxurious George (pretty good but $8+), both hot and cold, and told myself today is the day I'll try something different. I came in around 10:20 AM (Wednesday mid June), and it was pretty busy -- all seats were occupied (there's actually a good amount of indoor seating for the small unit), but there wasn't much of a queue, just two people in front of me. It was actually the only time I've seen it so busy, maybe because it's summer and the morning? During my past visits, I would stop by in the afternoon. Today I ordered The Blue Butterfly. It was beautifully layered. I gave it a good mix, and initially I tasted the flavors, but as I kept drinking it just tasted... bland. Mostly milk and barely any sweetness, which was kind of good, but I didn't modify anything (milk, sweetness, ice), so I wonder what lower levels of sweetness taste like. Prices range from $7 to $10, a bit above average compared to other tea and coffee places. Leaflet isn't typically my go-to, but it is convenient because it's nearby and they have early hours. But today was pretty disappointing. I don't know if there's been a change in their process or ingredients, or if it was just the drink I ordered, but I don't think I would come back soon. I was lucky to find parking immediately in front of the unit behind Leaflet. It was a 15-minute spot, but I was ordering for to go anyway. Staff here was very friendly and I really appreciate her encouragement for me to switch out the brown sugar with my desired honey and vanilla syrup instead. I was thinking to maybe just be fine with it, but she went the extra mile to ask if I was certain because she saw the look in my eyes. I really appreciate that detail of service!!! I picked the ham and cheese sandwich and waited for it to be ready and warmed. I have to say, you can tell the ham is one of those simple hams you can buy from a grocery store. They aren't unique or anything, so same with the slice of American cheese. Overall the sandwich was good though and enough to satisfy me when I wanted a quick breakfast. For the time we went, there was a couple of tables taken by people but there was still open spots to sit at. They aren't super quick so I recommend having a seat while you wait for your order. Wow!!! Wanted to stop by here for a quick breakfast and saw this on Yelp. I'm super happy to have come here and try out not only the matcha, but their bakery items too! This is by far my favorite coffee house in LA. I recommend it to everyone I talk to and I am constantly walking around with a cup from here in my hand. The drinks are incredible, the lattes are rich with flavor and espresso. My personal recommendations are the 'Of Spice and Bees' and the 'Dear Jasmine'. Not to mention their croissants are flaky, warm, and tasty. The staff are incredible. Kind, quick, and likeable. I always feel at home when I walk in. Was driving through the area and looking for my morning coffee and decided to stop here. Leaflet has some amazing flavor combos to choose from. I ultimately decided on the "furious George" which is a banana and vanilla latte. I love the ability to customize your drink. I was able to adjust sweetness, milk, and even pick which of the espresso roasts I wanted. They explained to me the difference between the two and how the roast impacts the flavors in the drink. I went with the Vietnam roast which brings more of the flavor out in the banana. I also dropped my sweetness down to 50% and it was perfect! Not too sweet but the banana comes through. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The space is cute, but small. Not great for large groups to congregate and hang out but enough space to sit and enjoy your drink with a friend or two or to do some light work or studying. Everytime I come to this area I searched for a new coffee spot to try. Yesterday after we went golfing we stopped by this cute little coffee shop. I love that it has a lot of parking at the back. Small little coffee shop that has a wonderful and sweet staff. I got the "V for Vanilla" coffee with the Vietnamese style espresso and it was soooo damn good. I literally drank my coffee in less than 10 minutes. I ordered the Furious George ($7.75 - iced). It took three minutes for completion. Fairly quick. As mentioned, I did not enjoy my Furious George. It lacks utility while also tasting somewhat bland. It's like "coffee" for people who dislike coffee. The drink is not bitter nor coarse; rather, its liquid felt more comparable to milk tea. Strangely enough, this beverage's crunchy banana chip was the highlight since it carried actual flavor. Regarding ambiance, Leaflet Coffee House (Monrovia Park) is exemplary. Despite its small location and dingy plaza, this small business felt like a college student's cherished secret. This location had airy ventilation, customer wifi with password, & several electric wall sockets to charge devices. It's also very clean as light upbeat pop music plays. The location is also gorgeous as its flowers cascade near its ceiling. I also appreciated the cold water station by the counter. Unfortunately, my biggest gripe will be the lack of indoor restroom; they only offer a restroom key for the parking garage's restroom. Regardless, the pleasant & welcoming ambiance at Leaflet Coffee House (Monrovia Park) is a big strongpoint. Overall, Leaflet Coffee House (Monrovia Park) offers outstanding service and ambiance. However, its Furious George ($7.75) is very disappointing with its bland taste and weak caffeine. Heard this was a top 10 coffee shop in LA , so I was vert excited to try it. I tired the Lavender Days and Into the London Fog lattes. Both of these drinks were exceptional; exactly what you expect them to taste like. The Lavender Days is a lavender matcha latte and it was made perfectly. I really wanted to gatekeep this place but...alas... it's too good to keep a secret. Leaflet has the best matcha latte in all of SGV. They have 3 matcha options, each from different cultivars. My favorite is the okumidori, which only comes in a short size. If you're unsure of what to order, definitely ask the staff working! They're super helpful and very friendly. What stands out at Leaflet, besides the matcha quality, is the amount of ways you can customize your matcha. Personally, I prefer it half sweet with simple syrup. If you're dining in, they'll even put your drink in a glass cup which is a classy touch. I do recommend staying for a bit, reading a nice book, because the tables never really fill up even though it's a small space. Really cute cafe tucked away in a strip mall in Monterey Park. There's a few tables for studying, along with bench seating. The atmosphere was pretty quiet, but I assume it was finals week at East Lac. I got the La Vie en Rose with 25% sugar and oat milk. It was delicious! The rose flavor was light, so I think 50% sugar would've enhanced it more. Rose is such a strong flavor, so I was happy with how it was and its contrast with the bitterness of the coffee. Service was friendly and fast. Parking can be an issue as the lot is small. I would love to come back and try more of their drinks. read more

Very cute and cozy cafe with a decent amount of parking and seating for studying/hanging out with friends! They also have some pastries like croissants and croissant sandwiches. What struck me the most about this spot was how friendly and helpful the staff was. They took the time to answer questions and make suggestions and were flexible with adjusting the drink's sweetness. My black tea latte was very good and the milled black tea gave it a unique flavor that reminded me of rice milk a bit. Prices are a little expensive ($7.75 for a tea latte) but it's a small business and the customer service is friendly, so I was fine with it. read more

This is a good coffee spot. Im usually indecisive when it comes to coffee but the lady helping me out gave me many suggestions. She gave me choices on adjusting sweetness, flavor and adding extra shots to adjust to my taste. I do think next time I would add more flavor and another shot to help making it a bit stronger. read more

I'm surprised by the amount of traffic this tiny coffee shop gets on a Wednesday morning! I appreciated how warm and welcoming the barista was. There was space to sit outside and I took advantage of the cloudy and cool day by sitting outside. The inside is quite small but there's still space to sit. Nearly all of the patrons of this spot were grab & go so I think there's slight potential for this spot to be your next study/work spot. Luxurious George (3.5) The name grabbed my attention but the drink was alright. It's a banana jasmine matcha latte, with the jasmine flavor being light and the banana being very very light. It really allows for the matcha flavor to shine through, however I felt that it could have been something more. I wasn't super impressed by the drink but I will definitely be back to give their coffee a shot since they seem to be popular for a reason! Garlic croissant (4.5) I gobbled this up real quick. It was savory from the garlic butter and sweet from the light spread of cream cheese. It's hard not to love a sweet and savory croissant at 8 in the morning. read more

We came here on a recent Saturday based on the amazing yelp reviews. This coffee house is definately not as aesthetic as some of the ones popping up everywhere but the customer service and the coffee makes up for the more basic interior. Interesting fact about the plaza where this shop is housed is also home to about 20 nail places. read more

We got the Dear Jasmine and Luxurious George drinks. Dear Jasmine 8/10 It has a nice Jasmine floral flavor and was also perfectly sweet with the brown sugar. Refreshing and not too overpowering flavor of Jasmine. Luxurious George 7/10 It has a milky aftertaste and a slightly strong taste of banana. If you really like bananas, this one is for you. The service was quick and friendly as we got our order. Interior is cute with hanging origami and lots of lavender colored decor. There are some tables and chairs perfect for studying and having a chill hangout with a friend or two. Will come back for more drinks! read more
