Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso (Large - $7.75) - "It's DELICIOUS!"
    Ian A.

I ordered the Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso (Large - $7.75). It's iced coffee with organic brown sugar, oat milk, cinnamon, and topped with cold foam and crumble. To my immense surprise, it's functional and flavorful. The caffeine is strong, yet this brew is soft, silky, & creamy. My eyes widened at its quality as I felt its fresh, clean ingredients. Visiting Roam & Brew Coffee (Montebello) is a humbling, unique experience. I visited Roam & Brew Coffee (Montebello) on Monday (around 10:18AM). My immediate impression was low. This small business was surrounded by other shops covered in graffiti, flipped shopping carts, and dirty orange construction cones. The parking situation was confusing. There's a private parking lot behind Roam & Brew Coffee (Montebello); however, there's a big blue sign that says "unauthorized vehicles will be towed." The sign lists only four businesses: Angry Horse Brewing, Sick Barbers Shop, The Magic Touch, and Prestamo Mortgage Corp. None of these say "Roam & Brew Coffee." However, I later spoke with Staff, and Staff explained that their business uses the "Angry Horse Brewing" building, so parking is allowed. I recommend adding their business's name to that sign to prevent continued confusion. If unable to park behind, there's also street parking. Street parking is "2 Hour Parking - 7AM to 6PM - except Sunday." Staff is cordial & professional. Staff was awkward when answering my questions, but Staff attempted to give a clear response with a smile. Roam & Brew Coffee (Montebello) is shockingly busy with customers despite the poor location. Still, my drink took four minutes and 38 seconds. Quick! As mentioned, I ordered the Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso (Large - $7.75). It's delicious! The caffeine is strong & enduring; the brown sugar tasted very fresh and crackly; and the drink is freshly brewed with a pleasant sweetness. This coffee is not bitter nor overly sweet. The ice ratio is also fair; it's a lot of tasty liquid. Surprisingly, this coffee rekindled memories of the cereal, Cinnamon Toast Crunch. As I sipped, I felt happy. The ambiance at Roam & Brew Coffee (Montebello) almost feels "hipster." The location looks worn down, and the air smelt a little musty as I entered. The location is not dirty, but it's also not immaculate. I appreciated how the floors were relatively sleek, but it would have benefited from more sweeping. Thankfully, the tables were very clean and smooth. Roam & Brew Coffee (Montebello) had a steady customer flow; however, many customers chose to just order-and-leave. The surrounding neighborhood didn't feel the safest, so I can understand. Also, this location felt like a poor study/work spot for electronic devices. I only counted two accessible electric outlets. Staff also explained that there's wifi for customers, but it has no password. However, I did enjoy the upbeat, bouncy music. Fortunately, the location feels spacious with its tall ceiling. However, there's only four long communal tables. It includes a long bench and many chairs (about 20). This business also has a small self-service water station. I also observed a worn down, dingy game station (ex: Jenga, battleship, checkers, etc). Also, I noticed customers walking inside with dogs on leashes, so this business appears dog friendly. Overall, Roam & Brew Coffee (Montebello) surpassed my expectations. I did not expect such depth & flavor from its coffee. Yet, I found joy. It's a memorable, tasty coffee experience. If nearby, I happily recommend the Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso. 4.6 out of 5

Came for their last day before they close their doors. So sad to see them go. Roam and Brew truly became a Montebello staple. Picked up a Vanilla Chai today, so good and refreshing, hope they can open again soon.

Great coffee I am weak for the strawberry delight adding the cream top and brown sugar already comes with cream top included can't wait to see their new location

I love this coffee. It's located inside Angry Horse Brewing. The pumpkin spiced latte is the best I've tasted. I also recommend the peppermint mocha , the teddy graham latte and the hazelnut mocha.

    Cinnamon Date Dream
    Jason N.

At first glance it looks like just a brewery, but it also operates as a café during the day, which I think is really creative. I got the cinnamon date dream and thought it was just okay. The sweetness kind of overpowered the actual coffee flavor, and I wish the roast was a little stronger, but that might just be personal preference. The coffee here is definitely priced higher than most places. I've studied here a few times and there's plenty of seating, though it can get loud from the music outside. The staff was helpful with recommendations and made our order quickly. Aside from the price and the lighter coffee flavor, everything else was solid.

Coconut Matcha and a sourdough vanilla scone
    Ada J.

The coconut crème matcha was so divine. Nutty, creamy and not overly sweet. The sourdough scone was wonderful too! It wasn't dry and the the light vanilla glaze was just the right amount of extra sweet flavor. The codes were so chill here on a Sunday morning. Just enjoying a nice matcha on the patio.

Matcha latte & sea salt caramel and coco latte
    Ally B.

Great local coffee shop! Location/ambiance: Right off Whittier Blvd Main Street and across from a very popular coffee shop Cafe Santo. The cafe itself is also a brewery spot in the evening! Quiet inside with one person studying and friends chatting softly. It's a bit dim inside relying on more natural light. I almost wasn't sure if it was open since the windows are tinted. Service: The barista/cashier I spoke to was very attentive and friendly! She asked if I had any questions and if I was ready to order. I needed a few minutes and she gave me exactly that while also checking in. Food: I ordered the sea salt caramel and coco latte (half sweet, iced, whole milk) and a matcha latte (almond, agave sweetener). Both were very tasty! So glad I did 1/2 sweet cause it felt like the right amount of sugar. Tastes very similar to a Samoa Girl Scout cookie (just without the chocolate)! Can't really judge their coffee alone since I got a more flavored drink that dominated the coffee. However, I enjoyed the fun combo of syrups! I had a sip of the matcha which tastes like higher quality as they use Senzo matcha which I've heard great things about. Mild flavor and glad we did a nut milk so the flavor came thru! Will happily go again!

    Strawberry Delight
    Ana T.

I already tried a few of their drinks (Strawberry Delight, Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso, and Premium Purple Ube), and my favorite is the Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso. It's sweet and delicious, especially with the cinnamon. No wonder it's a top seller! Located at a corner. Plenty of parking available in the back of the building. I went in the morning on different days, and it wasn't too busy, which is good since I'm on the way to work and in a bit of a rush. Plenty of seating inside and outside.

    Travis P.

Coffee here is GOOD. I always end up getting a cold brew and I can say that the cold brew here is quality and has a lot of flavor. Definitely lasted me all afternoon. Also got to try out the Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso and had the perfect amount of sweetness and overall enjoyed the drink. Loved that they had board games inside as well and the interior was very comforting. Parking - They got a lot shared in the back but it was plentiful at least in the morning.

Welcome to Roam & Brew Coffee.
    Carl N.

Roam & Brew Coffee is a modest and cozy corner coffee shop in central district of Montebello, offering consistently excellent quality coffee with a knowledgeable staff. Its spacious indoor has a vintage and rustic design that emits a relaxing atmosphere. Similarly, their outdoor bench seats have good street view perfect for sunny days. On their menu, they have a plethora of coffee, tea, matcha and specialty drinks. I came on a weekend morning and was met by a nonchalant male staff at the counter to get my order. I had a classic Mocha Latte and it was perfectly balanced, with a rich, creamy texture. What I did not expect was they ran out of coffee lid for my bloody coffee. Oh the Horror!! This was my first ever to experience as such; as the Coffee shop Kingpin of LA, I'm utterly befuddled. Service was kinda slow despite there were only five customers in the shop waiting for their morning coffee. This coffee shop has board games for customers and functioning wifi. Prices were a bit expensive but matched the quality. Finding parking was a breeze due to many public parking lots within in the area. Collectively, R & B is one of two coffee shops in the area that serve a damn good coffee. In conclusion, I recommend this coffee shop if you're in the area. So, until then see y'all neXt time. :D

    Vanilla latte

Found this place with my daughter . We both had a vanilla lattes- and a sourdough coffee cake which was delicious. We will return because thier service was great and the ambiance was very inviting .

    Purple Ube latte
    Gloria L.

I'm always on the lookout for new coffee shops in my area and I'm so glad I tried this place out! Roam and Brew offers a variety of lattes and teas and I love that they don't charge for alternative milk and let you choose your sweetener. They seem to be more health conscious as they offer keto lattes with monk fruit syrups and almond milk. I tried their premium purple ube with almond milk and honey and it was good! The ube flavor was strong but I liked that it didn't taste overly sweet. They have large communal tables with plenty of seats available indoor and outdoor so it makes a nice work, study, or hangout spot. They open pretty early at 7am and close in the afternoon at 3pm so a nice spot to stop by for early mornings or an afternoon pick me up.

My favorite was the chicken salad. I used their green salsa and it was delicious. The tamales was good. Today I learned I don't really like the flavor of banana leaf that gets absorbed into the tamal. Also, it was primarily made of rice. It had a piece of bell pepper, a little chicken and I think a plum. Aside from the banana leaf I liked the tamale. The latte was delicious. Nice coffee flavor and sweetened perfectly. Definite recommend and I will for sure be back.

Their Café Oaxaca is soooo good -- and that's saying something because I'm not even a coffee drinker lol. Somehow they converted me, at least temporarily. I'm also a huge fan of their chipotle bacon and egg breakfast biscuit. It's super tasty, but I will say you'll probably want a drink with it because the bread can be a little on the dry side. Still delicious though. Now let's talk about their chocolate-filled croissant... I'm obsessed. If you know me, you know I'm a SUCKER for croissants. Wee wee It's flaky, chocolatey, and exactly what I want in the morning. Their conchas are also really good and definitely worth grabbing. One thing I really love about this place that most people might not know is that they let you take their used coffee grounds for gardening. I've actually used them on my grass and, not gonna lie, it's helped it grow tremendously. So not only am I leaving with pastries, I'm apparently leaving with lawn care supplies too lol. Overall, great little spot for coffee, pastries, and breakfast. I'll definitely keep stopping by on my morning drop-offs.

I loved the Spanish latte since the coffee was bold and well-rounded without being overly sweet. I…read moreadded the cloud foam on top which added extra creaminess and sweetness. The foam with the custom latte art cost an extra $2 but I think it was worth it, at least for my first time. To be honest, Honey Greens seemed like a gimmicky place since I thought the foam art was all that it was known for, but no, their drink quality was actually good! I got the agave matcha latte for myself, and I enjoyed how rich it tasted and how vibrant it was in color. I also added a cold foam which made it too sweet for me. Next time, I plan on ordering an unsweetened matcha latte and add cold foam as the sweetener. I also tried a sip of the lavender matcha and that was the one thing I didn't like because the lavender overpowered the matcha. It was pretty busy for a Friday afternoon with all the tables filled and a short line formed after I walked in. The workers were all so kind, and it was overall a very inviting place with fun decorations and a myriad of art options for the cold foam.

Honey Greens has been one of my favorite matcha spots for a while now, so I decided to branch out…read moreand try a few other things on my last visit. I ordered the Coconut Iced Latte with Sweet Cream Cloud Foam through the app -- paid about $8.50. It was too much on the sweet side but honestly, the sweetness was on me since I added the cloud foam, but the drink itself was about a 6/10. My order was ready when I arrived, and the girl who greeted me was genuinely sweet and welcoming. On my way out, their pastry display caught my eye and I went back to grab a Matcha Pistachio Croissant ($7.50). A different person took my order and she seemed a little bothered when I came back to order, which was a bit off-putting. The croissant itself was disappointing -- it didn't taste fresh, and this was only about 30 minutes after opening. For $7.50, I expected a lot more, especially compared to other spots serving matcha pistachio croissants that are both tastier and more affordable. The shop was nice and clean and it has plenty of seating. That said, their matcha is still easily in my top 3 -- that part never disappoints. I'll keep coming back for that, but I'll be skipping the coffee and pastries going forward.
