everything is made fresh as their claim to fame and indeed you can taste the freshness in the ingredients. Shrimp rice is my favorite so far. Service is ok .

COVID-19: Social distancing is not enforced at this establishment. Some of the staff wears a mask. All customers are not expected to wear a mask. It's optional now. The staff also wears gloves when handling food. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is available for take outs and has some indoor seating available with no limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was grabbing my food from this establishment several days ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They currently don't have happy hour. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is shared. Many of the parking spots are small and tight. The lot does get full very easily because it is shared with several other establishments. There is an underground parking area, but that too can be packed very quickly. I recommend street parking to avoid inconsiderate jerks opening their doors too wide and dinging your car. Food: I ordered the har gow (Cantonese shrimp dumpling). So fricken juicy, sweet, and delicious. The shrimps are huge and fresh. It's my favorite dim sum dish ever. I would highly recommend ordering this dish. Staff: The staff here are very friendly and courteous. I will admit that service is slow. I ordered to go and it took them 20 minutes to give me my food. It was only me and one dine in customer. Oh well. I had time to kill anyways. I'm not upset. But if you do come here, be prepared for slow service. They mainly do takeouts. The establishment itself is small, clean, and tidy. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is a $25 credit card minimum.

Didn't know what to expect with such a small place but the line of people was a good sign. Small restaurant with only 4 tables so expect to wait at meal times but worth the wait. Small menu but food was excellent, good portions and at a good price. Definitely would come again

All the food items tastes good and even authentic. This place is suitable for to-go as there's very limited seating. The cashier lady attitude might need some improvement. I lowered my expectation on service and they met with my expectation. Just go for the food and grab and go enjoy it at home.

A pretty decent dim sum spot! Not really a sit down place but there are a few chairs and tables if you want to eat inside Parking can be difficult since it's located in a pretty busy plaza Service was friendly and welcoming Most of the dim sum are $5.49/dish and there is a good variety of 15-20 dishes. Har Gow (shrimp dumplings) and it was pretty basic but the shrimp inside was pretty big and tastyl. 3/5 The Shrimp Siu Mai was so delicious filled with shrimp and pork. So delicous without being too salty! 4/5 Chicken feet was ok, nothing special. It was pretty good but I've had better. 3/5 Bean Curd Rolls were decent. It was flavorful but not much ingredients inside. 3/5 Baked Pineapple Custard was mediocre. Not too sweet and not much custard filling. 3/5 It's an ok spot so I might or might not return

This is a to go dim sum place in a busy plaza next to the CVS. There are lots of places to visit once you get a parking space. I ordered. three dim sum dishes while dining at the Macao restaurant today. If you let them know that you will be at the restaurant, they will happily walk it over to you when the food is ready. We ordered steamed beef balls, shrimp dumplings (hai gau), and sticky rice in leaf wraps. Credit card minimum is $25. Our total was $18.16. Good thing I had a $20 bill or else we would've had to leave empty handed. There are many to go dim sum places around. To make this place more competitive or more convenient to patronize, please lower your minimum to $10. Dim sum 3.5 but bumped to 4.0 for the delivery gratis

We were in the area and wanted to try and find a new favorite spot for Dim Sum. Looked it up and Yelp! This place was not busy. All items same price! All the food was Delicious! I would definitely recommend this place

I've been here 3 times now. It's not my go to but they have solid dim sum for such a small place. They do tons of take outs and only have 4 tables. I have never been disappointed with the food except for a few items such as the sticky rice wrapped in lotus which could use some more seasoning. $6.99. The usual har low, siu mai, chicken feet are good and large in size. $4.99. I recommend the congee which is loaded with 1000 year old egg and it's thicker than most congee's nearby. Service is lacking. They seem like they prioritize whoever is making the lines instead of those sitting at the tables waiting to place the order. I had to stand up and bring the paper to the lady who kept helping new comers for take out.

I'm not very big on dim sum but my girls wanted to try this place out today, so I tagged along. We got shrimp siu mai, BBQ pork buns, steamed sponge cake, beef coriander noodle roll, and a 3 piece order of beef balls. Since I don't eat pork or seafood, the only things I tried were the: -Beef coriander noodle roll (which was slightly bland). -Steamed spongecake (I liked this a lot, it was really good and not overly sweet). -Beef ball was really good (I think it's their rendition of a beef meatball, except the texture was a bit hard and not as beefy-textured as I'd hoped. Flavor was good though, savory w a hint of citrus). The girls said that the shrimp siu mai and pork buns were good. Initially, we were supposed to get it to-go but the girls changed their minds and decided to eat there. Would've been cool for the food to get served in the cool bamboo steamers. The place is very small, w 4 tables that could barely fit inside. The restroom was... scary, to say the least lol!! I was so scared I just decided to hold it til we got back to the hotel. One complaint I have about this place is that you'd have to spend $25 minimum to use your credit card. I guess... but what if a person only wanted 2 things (that totaled less than $25) then you just can't get anything here at all (if you don't have cash)?

Came here before 10am on a Sunday and was seated immediately. While it is a smaller space, there are four tables inside if you want to dine-in. My table ordered practically one of everything on their menu. Our favorites were the siu mai and pineapple bun filled with custard. All of the dishes tasted fresh and had a clean taste (not overly oily). I would come back solely for those pineapple buns. It had the perfect crust with a super soft and pillowy bun. The service was also great and super attentive.

A nice dim sum place in San Gabriel. Their menu is pretty similar to "yin cha" places (aka Cantonese dim sum lunch) but much more compact and cheaper that those places with dim sum trolleys. This is perfect for me because the dim sum was delicious and I didn't like busy places. Their porridge is very good and large portion. The egg tarts are very good. Dim sum was very good overall. It's not like a unique, must-try thing, just simply delicious comfort food I'd enjoy everyday.

This place is extremely small inside, there's only 4 tables. The food is okay, the rice noodle rolls are a bit too doughy in my opinion. I didn't mind that but when we weren't even fully done or asked for the check yet, the lady came w the check as if we were gonna run out without paying... like calm down and let me enjoy the rest of my tea first. Also, I'm not a huge fan of the parking structure here. Way too many people and the lot is always busy. They have additional parking downstairs too but fits about 20 cars or so.

The potstickers were HALF the size they were from my first many visits. The shumai was so rubbery and warm. We didn't make it past one bite. The broccoli was fresh and tasted good. I'm not sure if we will be back. The last two times were so disappointing.

I recently came back to try their updated $4.88 per dish pricing, and previously visited for their AYCE option ($25.88). Across both visits, most of the dim sum items have stayed consistent in quality, which is a plus. Favorites still include the House Special Crispy Shrimp Roll and the Baked Snow Cap BBQ Pork Bun--both are standout dishes and worth ordering. That said, a few things have slipped. The removal of chili oil was disappointing, and some items (like the XO sauce) still lack depth in flavor. While the food is solid overall, it doesn't quite stand out compared to other dim sum spots at a similar price point. Service has been good each time, especially considering how busy it gets on weekends. The space itself is clean and leans toward a modern, upscale Chinese restaurant vibe, which makes it a comfortable spot for brunch. On the downside, food can take a while to come out, and parking remains a headache--the garage is small and street parking is limited, especially during peak hours. Overall, Bistro 1968 is a decent option for dim sum in a modern setting, but with a few inconsistencies and small letdowns, it lands more in the middle rather than being a standout.

When Bistro 1968 first opened, I bookmarked the restaurant wanting to stop by for dim sum but never…read morehad the chance to do so. I heard about their AYCE dim sum promo but that actually made me not want to come because I knew the wait would've been very long, and I hate waiting for a table just to eat. Fast forward to tonight and a suggestion was made to try the $14.88 dinner special at Bistro 1968. Here's my honest review of my experience. * Parking - Self parking behind the restaurant. I came on a Monday night dinner time , and there was only 2 cars in the entire lot. The parking lot was very creepy as it was't too well lit. I could see the kitchen from the structure because the backdoor was left opened. There were boxes and junk littered around the area. * You have to walk through a long hallway from the parking lot to get to the restaurant. There are signs to guide you, but if you're going there for the first time, it could be a bit confusing. * We got there at 7pm and there was only 1 table of customers. I honestly don't know how to describe the decor because it depends on which part of restaurant you're looking at. * Staff were all VERY nice. They gave us free dessert (Egg Tarts and Pineapple Buns) so that was awesome. * Food - I ordered the Fried Fish but it wasn't fully cooked. Some parts were still raw so it had a fishy taste. We ate a few pieces but left most of it untouched. Everything else was pretty much okay except for its temperature - it was lukewarm. Nothing was piping hot except for the steamed Pork Spareribs from their all day dim sum menu. * There were some small gnats that kept flying around and when one actually landed in my food, I just stopped eating altogether. * No alcohol available but definitely not a huge deal. Their staff are so nice that I actually feel bad about not writing a positive review about the establishment, but I really just don't see how I am able to rate it any higher than 2 stars. I don't think I will be coming back.

The skin was so chewy too. Delicious! -#25 black sesame with red bean paste was so fresh! It was crisp and chewy without feeling too heavy from the oil, if you stop at one that is haha -#6 siu mai was also so jam packed with meat and juicy! Still worth mentioning that the turnip cake was delicious in flavor but just not a highlight because it was on the mushier side. I'd still get it again though! Also, my partner really enjoyed the congee. I didn't try it though. Areas that can be improved: -the lotus sticky rice was a little lacking in flavor and meat. -the Cheung fun although had generous amounts of shrimp, it lacked bounce in the rice noodle. Maybe because it was cold by the time we ate it. -to reduce paper consumption, I recommend using laminate dry erase for the menus so they can be reused. Just an idea/suggestion! One of the first things you notice walking in is the staff hand folding dumplings fresh, which already sets the tone for the meal. We started with the cucumber salad which was super refreshing, crunchy, and had a nice vinegary kick. The pork xiao long bao were juicy and flavorful, and the spicy wontons had a good balance of heat and savory flavor. The garlic green beans were simple but cooked well. Some standout dishes for me were the black pepper beef cubes and the pan fried pork buns. The beef cubes were loaded with garlic and had a bold black pepper flavor with a little heat. The pan fried pork buns had a soft fluffy exterior with really juicy pork filling inside. Definitely a must order. We also tried the dan dan noodles and spicy beef noodle soup. The noodles had a great chewy texture and the broth for the beef noodle soup had more of an herbal spice profile instead of just straight heat, which I really enjoyed. The beef roll also surprised me with how crispy the exterior was while still being packed with flavorful beef. To finish, we got the red bean xiao long bao for dessert. The wrapper was soft and the red bean filling was lightly sweet without being overpowering. Overall, solid spot for dumplings and noodles with a lot of variety on the menu.
