My cousin recommended this place since it's fairly new. It's a nice diner offering a good variety of Chinese food and drinks. We ordered a few items to share. Unagi Bowl - Served in a stone pot. There was a lot of rice, which didn't quite balance the amount of unagi. The shoyu sauce may have been a bit too salty, likely to flavor the rice. Overall, not bad in taste. Hainanese Chicken - The meat was tasty and tender. Overall, not too bad for a first visit.

Pork chung fun, good!

The second time here and we ordered togo, we were sad about the food quality, the portion of the sweet and sour pork was very small, and they gave us fat meat that we couldn't eat. They didn't have beef chow fun so they gave us shabu beef meat chow fun, which tasted bad. The only thing was good was the rice noodles roll (cheung fun). We probably won't come here again.

No Amex accepted, visa or Mastercard only $39 with leftovers for another 1-2 meals! Secret hainan chicken $15 3.5/5 Large portion! Chicken is served cold, rice is ok. I liked the chili and the soy sauce the most. If the ginger scallion oil can be either a little less oily or more salty it'd be great. Shrimp rice roll with egg $10 3.5/5 One shrimp I got was a little fishy, but the others were fine and plump. The rice roll was a little thicker than Ayee, but you get a lot of product. Their sauce could maybe be a little saltier ?? Crispy roasted duck pancake $11 4/5 The best thing! Pancake is crisp and a little dense. Lots of duck and it wasn't gamey. Veggies help to bring some freshness. Service Very sweet. The daughter? Was very pleasant and the mom? Helped me pack my 3 dishes.

Stopped by this spot to get their prawns again however, they removed it off the menu. Either they're testing out their menu or they've been switching out their chef. Whatever it is, it seems their menu is really inconsistent. Even their chicken rice didn't taste good. It was like yellow oiled up rice. Tonight we ordered Ancient method of shredded salt-baked chicken and it was a cold dish! If it says baked chicken on the menu, I'd assume it's a hot plate of chicken but no, it was cold as ice!! I asked her to recommend a few other dishes and she recommended beef w bitter melon and taishan cauliflower. Both are veggie dishes. We got both her recommended dishes and needless to say, we didn't finish both.

Second time here and this place still does not disappoint. The service is consistently welcoming, friendly, and top notch, which honestly makes the experience even better. The food is delicious, and the duck pancake is a must try. Easily a standout dish and worth coming back for alone. The ambiance is on the relaxed, quieter side, which I actually loved. Since it's a newer spot, it feels a bit like a hidden gem and hasn't been discovered yet. Perfect if you're looking for a chill meal without the chaos. If you're anywhere near the area, this place is absolutely worth checking out. Highly recommend.

Looking for a new place to try out and found Top One. It offers a mixture of Cantonese, northern Chinese and HK style western dishes. The lady who waited on us was super nice and attentive. The large beef short rib with red sauce seemed pretty popular based on Yelp reviews. It was very tender; but, it was a bit bland for me. The roast duck scallion pancake rolls were unique and tasty. The star of the meal was definitely the clay pot rice. It was very legit and had the proper burnt crust at the bottom. I'd come back again and again just for that.

Top One is fairly new. They opened several months ago and I've been here once for dinner. I My experience was good and the dishes I tried beat my expectation. The restaurant is simple and casual. FOOD We asked them for recommendations and all of the recommendations (half-chicken dish, duck pancake roll, veggie dish) we went with were good. The curry wasn't spicy but it was still good. The portion sizes are also a bit larger than they seem. SERVICE Friendly and helpful PARKING Shared parking lot (free). Can sometimes be hard to find parking. Street parking is also available.

Its small and cozy so can be a bit of a wait at peak hours bu the food is really good. I first came here after hearing about the eel curry rice which I like to try at every location that offers it and it was pretty good, also available with garlic fried rice instead if one isn't up for spicy. Hainan chicken can be ordered whole, half, or an entree with rice, very tender and flavorful and a must order for me every visit. The clay pot rice is well made here, good grains, good timing and fire control to get a nice crispy layer, my friend likes the freshwater eel topping and I go for the pork patties. We asked a waiter for recommendation and they suggested we try the roast duck roll, it feels like a cross between a pre-rolled Beijing Duck in pancake and a ShangDong beef pancake roll. Good food, try and visit off peak hours!

PLEASANT AND YUMMY Excited to have a new delicious Cantonese food spot in town. Plenty of seats and cute vibes. Everything was freshly made and serve to order. I really enjoyed my lunch and got my rice noodle fix!! Solid hainan chicken and the duck wrap was soo good. The wrap was flakey and warm and the duck was tasty. Service was attentive and nice. Will be back!!

Salt baked shredded chicken

My friend brings me there last month since the Chinese name of this restaurant attracts her, she used to work at Wai Chai (灣仔) district when she lived at Hong Kong. Even though the name had nothing related with the interior decoration (she said the wall decoration looks more like a local city of Guangzhou), but the food didn't disappoint us. We both love the salt baked shredded chicken so much! This dish becomes our all time favorite, we then come back for couple times and they keep the standard. The chicken is not salty, but the meat tastes fantastic every time. The peanuts were delicious too, crispy like our family's traditional homemade LNY snack. We also got the rice rolls and some other dishes, they were good too, but we loved the chicken dish the most. The service was nice, they were friendly and helpful. I will keep coming back for sure!

Beef rice rolls

Wanted to try something new within the area. Stopped by to have a late lunch. The service was great, we were greeted and seated immediately. Friendly service, clean ambiance, and food was good. Ordered the beef rice rolls, laksa chicken noodle soup, and roasted duck with bbq pork over rice.

On my trip to Los Angeles, I was recommended the Top One restaurant from my LA friends who was telling us about new Cantonese restaurants in the SGV. I came to try with my friends and ordered the beef noodle, shrimp rice rolls, claypot rice, and sweet and sour pork. Everything was seasoned well, not too salty or oily. We also got the herbal tea which was delicious. It was really good comfort food from our long drive from San Francisco. Service was fast, the owner was very attentive to our table. Semi-noisy and family friendly. Free WiFi. Overall, really love this place and would definitely recommend for other people to come try.

Roast Duck special Pancake. Delicious, almost like pastry

Nice little hole in the wall and a different kind of Hong Kong Cafe that borders more DaiPaiDang (road side cafe) food like "claypot" dishes. Restaurant was clean and bright. I love the service here. When the Clayton arrived, they offered to separate and mix everything for me, taking care to make sure they lift and mix the crispy rice that is the hallmark of Clayton rice dishes. Beef rolls started at Taiwanese restaurants and so many other Chinese restaurants have added them to the menu like XLB dumplings. Top One does its a little differently, with multiple options, including roast duck, which I ordered. The dough was nice and flaky but had a nice chewy center like pastry. This was one of my favorites. Food is good hear and look forward to trying more of the menu

It's pretty close by but also the quality of food is pretty good for how inexpensive the lunch specials are. You have to pay for the drinks, but so far I haven't seem a limit on the refill (I typically refill only once though but I've also been able to take the drink togo). I would recommend getting the salt and pepper pork chop - my dad says this is literally better than most places we've gone to. I think they season the batter, which is how its so flavorful. We also typically get the eggplant, which comes in a huge plate and comes with rice. My dad likes their curry but I'm not super excited about it. Its good, but not exciting, if you know what I mean. Service is typically pretty good. They move around pretty quickly and food typically comes out pretty quickly too. I would spend about 50-60 dollars and its enough food to last two people maybe an additional 2 or 3 meals, especially since most dishes come with a dish of white rice. The rice isn't great, like it's kind of dry, but its free so no complaints here.

The last few times I've ordered the kung pao chicken, it barely had any veggies. It used to come with a mix of colorful bell peppers, but now it's mostly onions. The sweet and sour fish used to be lightly battered and nice and meaty. On my last visit, it was heavily battered and you could barely taste the fish. I'm not sure if they changed chefs, but the difference in quality is definitely noticeable. It's disappointing because I really like the staff. They're always friendly and provide great service. I'm hoping the food goes back to how it used to be.

And they even have private rooms for parties so we've done graduations and birthdays here as well. Their lunch special is 11-5 pm which is a super generous time frame, and it comes with soup and rice!! I wish I got a picture of the soup but it's not the kind of free soup that's just plain broth. Some days it's pork and lotus root soup, some days it's preserved veggie and pork bone etc... it's the type of soup that's homey and comforting and they boil it down so well where it's super sweet and nourishing. Do note that you have to dine-in to get soup because they don't include it in togo orders! As for their lunch specials... the quality and the price can't be beat!! Everything is $13 to $16 and it comes with generous portions with a good amount of meat. Some favorites: Pork belly with preserved vegetable ($15.99)-- Super melty, tender, braised well and the flavor seeps all the way in. The preserved vegetables are underneath on the bottom, so scoop it up and eat it with the pork belly .... Soooo good with rice!! Sweet and Sour Fish Filet ($14.99)-- It's coated in sweet and sour sauce but the outside is still a soft-crispy and inside is super tender. It's a family favorite everyone loves it! From kids to grandparents! Pork Rib with Spicy Salt ($13.99)-- SOOOO GOOD. Ok I know it doesn't look like much in the picture but just trust that this meat is super tender and soft. It's seasoned so well even though it looks plain.. the flavor is all on the inside. Braided Bean Curd with Abalone Sauce ($15.99)-- It's so simple but so good. Tofu, mushrooms, abalone sauce over rice?? Yes yes it's a classic for a reason Eggplant and Minced Pork with Garlic Sauce ($12.99)-- It's a classic dish but it's EXTRA good here!! It's not greasy and soaking in oil like some other places. The wok hei flavor is super prominent and it just tastes really good. We always order it when we come here. House Special Pork Ribs ($14.99)-- Sweet and sour baby pork ribs!! Another family favorite. The ribs are easy to eat and are never tough or chewy. Dry seafood chow mein ($14.99)-- Wok hei flavor through and through! Very generous amount of seafood. And where else can you order a seafood item for less than $20??? Geoduck (market price)-- It's definitely not an every day order but for a special occasion?? SOOOO GOOD. They do it sashimi style and everyone gets their own soy sauce and wasabi mini dipping plate. It's sweet, fresh, nice and chewy. They'll ask how you want the head done (fry or soup) and we got it fried. Roasted Duck and Golden Chicken-- I'm not well versed enough to compare this place to other places but it was good and we had no complaints! Pretty much can't go wrong. Taro Dessert ($17.99)-- Classic Cantonese dessert with taro paste, jujubes, gingko nuts, and Chinese white mushroom. It's hard to describe the taste but it's perfectly sweetened and is a nice dessert to close off the meal. Definitely 10/10 would recommend. Anyways my family is super loyal to this restaurant and we've never had a bad time so absolutely would recommend. It was kind of quiet last time I went so please I need them to stay in business or else where else am I supposed to get my canto food cravings fixed. Parking is easy since they have their own lot!!

I came in knowing exactly what I wanted, but I was also pleasantly surprised to see that they offer an afternoon tea menu. I'll have to come back to try it sometime, but my main reason for visiting was the beef chow fun. It's also available on the afternoon tea menu, but it's about $4 more to include a drink, which I decided to skip this time. Here is my verdict on the been chow fun: the portion size was solid, and I noticed they used both red and yellow onions in the dish. I do wish there were more bean sprouts, but they were generous with the beef, which I appreciated. Flavor-wise, it was quite good as well. Overall, I would come back if I happen to be in the area. Otherwise, the pricing is comparable to other Hong Kong-style cafés, so I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way just for this location.

First, parking was so difficult!! So many cars crammed close to each other and the restaurant wasn't even full, but we parked in the street nearby. The place had plenty of seating when we arrived, spacious tables that fit our group of 16. We had a large party and split into two tables, each table had peanuts and tea, we also ordered our own bit with the same serve at the same time. We ordered our usual dishes such as corn soup, honey walnut shrimp, salt and pepper squid, sal and pepper pork chops, filet beef dish, hainan chicken and many more. The service seemed slow, the bad part is that our other table got all their dishes while we had none. It took a while before our first dish arrived which was honey walnut shrimp, it was good, a bit soggy but flavorful. We asked for rice and started eating, once most of the shrimp was gone the rest of the dishes came. They were delicious, they tasted great and had good portions. The pork chop was great fresh but soon started to get tough as it cooled. The fried squid had parts that were very seasoned and some bland. My sister in law ordered a seafood tofu dish that was the best one but we ate everything before I took a photo. We also shared dishes across the tables to try out our orders. I tried the fried crab but it had more garlic than crab! The restroom was the sad part, there was no toilet paper, and no paper towels. The women's restroom door was propped wide open as well.
