    Tomato & Beef Noodle

Came in for a quick lunch and received an outstanding experience. Family friendly restaurant with a good amount of seating. Prices are reasonably fair for today's economy. Seamless QR code ordering. The highlight was the perfect blend of Szechuan spices, it was spot on flavorful and very comforting in every dish. And I love comfort food, especially noodles so definitely in for a treat. We ordered the beef noodle soup, chicken gizzard noodles, spicy wonton, chicken, and fries. All delicious, cooked perfect textured and spice level for me! Fast and thoughtful service. Our waitress came with items before we asked and even help me pack up as I was taking my time struggling with the lids. Busy plaza parking lot with plenty of dessert and tea options. We will be back!

How I feel about Mian is similar to that of Sichuan Impression. It lacks the depth of flavour and complexity that is offered at other more hole in the wall Sichuan restaurants, but is a great entry point into the cuisine for someone unfamiliar with the flavours!

Szechuan restaurant in San Gabriel. We got the spicy beef noodle soup level three spicy and the beef rib noodle soup. Broth was great not too oily meat was tender and noodles had a good texture. Service was quick and ordering is through a QR code menu.

WOW the beef noodle soup here is phenomenal! I got the house beef noodle soup with a mild spice level, and it definitely had a nice spicy kick. The beef is sooo tender and the meat quite literally fell off the bone. The noodles were cooked perfectly too. The cilantro and bok choy were an excellent addition to the bowl for a nice refreshing crunch. The broth was spicy, hearty, and comforting. I'm definitely coming back!

We ordered one of each of the combos: - Chili oil dumplings (pork) - Beef noodle soup (medium spice) - Brown sugar sticky rice - Pickled cucumber - Chengdu Zajiang noodles (mild) Everything was absolutely delicious! I loved the Chengdu Zajiang noodles the most. The flavor was wonderfully complex even without chili oil. The noodles in both dishes were cooked to perfection and so bouncy. The beef in the beef noodle was so tender. The "sticky rice" dessert was fried rice cake with brown sugar syrup; the texture was delightfully crispy. The dumplings were so juicy; the skin was perfectly cooked as well! The cucumbers were tossed in vinegar, peppercorn, and chili. You order through a QR code, and service was extremely quickly. We were able to snack on the cucumbers before our entrees arrived. The sun does tend to get in your eyes if you sit facing the window during midday. The two combos were enough for 3 people. I hope to come back and try their noodle soups!

My friends said the noodles here were good so decided to grab dinner here Sunday night. There was unexpectedly no wait when we walked in and we got seated right away. They have a QR code for you to order online which was convenient. Everyone just adds their own order to the cart and then it syncs to the table's cart. I ordered the Zajiang Noodles (no spicy). The food came out pretty quick, maybe around 10 minutes. The noodles come with minced meat on top, fried egg, and some vegetables. The noodle texture was nice and chewy and tasted freshly made. The sauce was also great and flavorful. As for the portion, it is a typical portion for the price. I think this is a good noodle place to go, especially when craving spicy noodles. But I think the nonspicy option is great as well. It isn't mindblowing good but I enjoyed it and it wasn't expensive. I would come back again to try other dishes.

We had a large party (13) come here for lunch. Had to be split across two tables. So not good for parties. The digital ordering across 2 tables made me the waitress. I did not enjoy having to take everyone's order. When I asked if they could just take the order like a regular restaurant, I was told to use the website. Not friendly service. There were a lot of hard no's. You can't stand here when you wait. Or there. You can't use the bathroom. You can't have your seat too far away from the table. Food looked better than it tasted. Beef noodle soup broth was lacking depth. Popcorn chicken didn't have basil. The noodles were the biggest letdown. For a place named MIAN, one'd think the made these fresh, from scratch daily, had some special way to keep them bouncy for texture, etc. Nope, these tasted like they were fresh off the grocery shelf. It was not a relaxing or enjoyable experience. The regime thinks their food is so terrific they can treat folks however. We like noodles at other places more. Won't be back.

First time trying this place out at friends recommendation. There is plenty of underground parking. You place your order using the link via QR code. Staff served us water upon seating. It can get loud inside once the place fills up. I got their zajiang noodles ($13) which comes with minced beef, fried egg, and some bok choy. It was a good portion was this price. Sauce was very flavorful. Would come back for this again!

Sichuan hot sour noodles, spicy wontons

Classic szechuan styled noodle house with yummy noodles. A solid 3.8/5. Parking usually isn't an issue and the establishment is decently sized. The noodle portions are pretty great and I usually take half home when I order appetizers with it. I enjoyed the spicy wontons though they weren't a favorite of another tablemate. I got the Sichuan hot sour noodles and they were tasty. I've gotten them on more than one occasion and enjoy the crunchy peanuts that come with them. I've eaten these noodles cold as well and actually prefer them that way with the cold, sour refreshing taste after a hot day. My sibling always get the beef noodle soup and loves it. A great restaurant my family consistently visits and tastes good.

I've been to Mian in San Gabriel before and remember really enjoying it, so I brought a friend who had never been on a Tuesday night for dinner. The food itself still holds up, but the experience this time left a pretty bad impression. We ordered through the QR code and got the insanely spicy noodles, steamed egg with minced pork, Chengdu fries (we went with level 5 spice), beef in chili oil, and the celery with peanuts. For drinks, we had the mung bean drink and plum juice. Everything tasted great, just like I remembered. The spice level was definitely there but still enjoyable and not overwhelming. The issue came when an extra dish showed up at our table that we never ordered. When I checked the online menu from the QR code, I saw that the restaurant had added crispy pork to our order without asking us. That alone felt pretty shady, and to make it worse, the dish itself was mostly batter with barely any meat. It honestly left a sour taste after what would have otherwise been a solid meal. Good food doesn't make up for questionable business practices. Parking: there's free surface parking in a shared lot, plus underground parking available. Ambiance is your typical Asian restaurant. It was moderately loud, but still easy enough to have a normal conversation. Overall, the food is good, but I won't be coming back after this experience.

I've been here before and was craving some noodles, so I decided to give it another try. The food is pretty decent, not the best noodles I've ever had, but definitely enjoyable overall. Chengdu ZaJiang Noodles - This was my favorite. Dry-style noodles with a fresh texture and great flavor. Very tasty. (4.5/5) Spicy Beef Noodles - A bit too oily for my personal taste. There's a heavy amount of chili oil, so we mostly stuck to the noodles and meat. (3.5/5) Overall, the food was tasty and reasonably priced. Parking - Plenty available, including convenient downstairs parking.

Steamed Egg ($5 and was worth it for how much you get)

Solid spot for the noodle lover! Been years, I mean years since I've been here. And happy to say that my second time back was better than the first, not that the first time was bad. Came here for lunch with friends so we each ordered our own noodles and appetizers to share. I'm not a big noodle person but their noodles are delicious. I think I ordered their signature Zajiang Noodles and noodles were cooked perfectly so they still have a good chew. Flavor is also there! Of course, more noodles than protein. The appetizers we ordered to share were all delicious - steamed egg was my favorite. Served in a mug with minced pork on top, it reminds me of the steamed egg I had growing up and at $5, you actually get a decent amount. Happy slurping!

Mian is perfect for a variety of situations - large family dinners, solo dinners, casual friend dinners, and dates! They're pretty heavy handed on the spice here, so if you're wavering on spice level just get no numb and no spice lol it will still be tasty. There's a key by the register for the bathrooms outside. Service is always quick, everything usually comes out within 5-10 mins. Very comforting homestyle cooking :) Fav dishes: golden soup wontons, chili oil dumplings, chengdu zajiang mian, steamed egg with minced pork

My sisters-in-law who live in the area highly recommended this spot when we were deciding on a Sunday dinner the night before we flew out. Among the four of us, we ordered: - Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings) - Biang Biang Noodles: least numbing of the noodle dishes we ordered. If you LOVE carbs and not a lot of sauce, this one's for you! - Dandan noodles: this thin noodle dish is slightly more numbing than the Biang Biang noodles, but still bearable and tasty. - Chongqing Special Noodles: most numbing of the three! I had to pause eating this a few times as it was getting a little uncomfy! The noodles are side but thinner than the Biang Biang noodles. I liked that we ordered noodle dishes each with different noodle types, flavors, and spice levels. The Biang Biang noodles were respite from the Chongqing Special Noodles, while the Dandan noodles had the right amount of peanut flavor and "mala." We arrived 45 minutes before closing on a Sunday night (it was a holiday the next day though). We were surprised that there was still a line of people wait in for seats close to closing time! Thinking we weren't going to be seated, we decided to order for takeout. We ended up being the last party to be seated! The staff was kind to transfer our takeout orders as dine-in dishes! We met up at noon and stayed until the restaurant wrapped up lunch service and gently pushed us out the door, sometime around 2:30. The space was nice, instantly recognizable as a Chinese restaurant in Alhambra. It was pretty quiet the whole time, a good place for a leisurely catch-up. Service was fast and polite, though the combination of QR code ordering and poor Verizon service was a bummer. I had to cross the dining room to take down the wifi password posted on the opposite wall. We ordered a sizable spread for two people: Chong Qing fried chicken, dan dan noodles, wontons with chili oil, and pea tips with garlic. Everything was delicious, most of all the Chong Qing fried chicken, crispy nibbly bits of breaded chicken stir-fried with green onion and hot pepper. I love dan dan noodles and wontons, and thought both were great, if not the best I've had in the area. The pea tips were lovely, bright green and not spicy, but abundantly flavorful. I'd love to come back to Xiang La Hui and try more of the menu. It seems like a restaurant that does everything well, and I'll keep it in mind whenever I'm craving Sichuan.

We got the Boiled Fish in Green Pepper Sauce, Toothpick Lamb, and Mapo Tofu. Everything was definitely super delicious. The dishes weren't too spicy for me, and I actually wish they had a bit more heat, but they did have a nice numbing kick to them. I do have a pretty high spice tolerance, though, so my experience may be different from others. My friend thought the dishes were pretty spicy, so keep that in mind if you're more sensitive to heat. The fish was super tender and soft, and honestly pretty addictive to eat. The Toothpick Lamb was pretty much the same--you just pop one in your mouth and then immediately want another. It had a nice salty, spicy flavor that made it really easy to keep eating. The only downside is, well, the toothpicks! They definitely slow you down. I also really enjoyed the Mapo Tofu. It was nice and flavorful and went really well with the other dishes. Overall, everything we tried was really good, and I can definitely see why my friends recommended this place.

They definitely know how to get people seated and keep the crowd moving in, but getting out was another story. Kept getting passed up when we were done and simply trying to leave. The food did take a while, but I can understand that when everything is being made fresh. Just know that if you're on a time crunch, this probably isn't the place for a quick meal. The gentleman who seated us and took our order was really nice, but after that, we pretty much felt forgotten about. Once the food arrived though, it was Good. Very flavorful, authentic Chinese food, and definitely worth trying. The atmosphere is loud and busy, no music, just the sound of a completely packed restaurant, so don't come expecting a quiet, relaxing dinner. Also, fair warning, some of these dishes are Spicy, and I mean actually spicy. If you love some heat, you'll probably love this place. Overall, I'd recommend giving it a try for the food. Lots of dishes to choose from. A good variety too of proteins, vegetables, noodles and Wonton soup.

The jumping frog was legit--bouncy, fresh, lots of bones but that's part of the fun, we were just gnawing away lol. 樟茶鸭 had this deep smoky vibe, skin a bit chewy but super flavorful. Portions solid, great for sharing. If you're into real Sichuan flavors, this place is a must. )

The restaurant has a fun atmosphere with red lanterns, outdoor seating, and plenty of TVs and projector screens showing World Cup matches. It feels lively without being overly loud, making it perfect for both group gatherings and casual dinners. Our favorite dishes included: * Jianghu Chili Chicken 江湖辣子鸡 - Extremely spicy and packed with flavor. The lotus root added a nice crunch. * Spicy Stir Fried Clams 辣炒蛤蜊 - Fresh, flavorful, and one of the first dishes we finished. * Sherred Potato 麻辣土豆丝 - Tangy, spicy, and very addictive. * Hand Shredded Cabbage 手撕包菜 - Simple but executed perfectly with great wok flavor. * Chicken Cartilage Skewers 鸡脆骨串 - Nicely grilled and not overly tough. * Sausage Skewer 王中王串 - Classic and satisfying. * Spicy Crawfish 麻辣小龙虾 - Fresh crawfish with plenty of flavor. One thing worth mentioning is the spice level. My husband is a huge fan of spicy food and has tried many Sichuan restaurants throughout Los Angeles. He said this was one of the spiciest places he has visited so far. The biggest surprise was the value. We ordered all of these dishes for under $100 and had enough leftovers to enjoy for two more days. We'll definitely be back and would recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Sichuan cuisine in the San Gabriel Valley.

The service is consistently great... attentive, efficient, and genuinely welcoming. Fair warning for anyone new to Sichuan cuisine, the dominant flavor is "spicy". That said, the dishes are not just about heat... they're layered, aromatic, and incredibly well-balanced. Every dish I've tried has been outstanding, both in flavor and presentation. If you're a fan of bold, authentic flavors and reliable service, this spot is definitely worth visiting. Tip - If you're new to the cuisine, I strongly recommend getting everything MILD spicy. I've been told by some of my colleagues that MILD spicy is still pretty spicy, so be warned. With that said, strongly recommend the dishes below. Lamb with Cumin 11/10 - My favorite dish here by far. Aromatic, flavorful, and the spices are just on point. Dan Dan Noodles 9/10 - Solid and consistently good. The sauce is properly seasoned and truly compliments the perfectly cooked noodles. Shredded Cabbage with Pork 9/10 - Not to be confused with twice cooked pork. This dish is so simple and bland looking, but it's packed with flavor... so good! Garlic Pork Belly 8/10 - This is a cold dish. The meat was perfectly cooked and properly coated in chili oil. Solid and consistently good. Kung Pao Chicken 8/10 - In my opinion, it's an elevated Kung Pao Chicken. Solid and consistently good.
