We came because of their latest post pop up about how good their food are. Lets say I dont think I will be back again. Beef stew itself did cooked amazingly soft. But thats all there is. Not sure about Michelin stars level. The soup based is too plain. We order original the spicy and a mild ($20 each). And we ordered the sesame noodles ($16) just sesame and noodles not sure how this can be at $16. Their side dishes in to-go small container range $14-$18 (way over priced). We went in 6 people of course there was a wait which is fine but 2 sesame noodles and 3 beef stew noodles for over $120 not sure if i will return. I prefer PP pop in monterey park or same owner Mr Dragon noodles on valley San Gabriel over this.

I've heard great things about this spot serving authentic Taiwanese beef noodles in Temple City, but it's extremely difficult to find time in our schedules, as they're only open 6 days a week, from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Just a heads-up: they only accept cash or Zelle. We ordered two dishes to share - the #1 Sesame Sauce Dry Noodles ($15.00) and the #5 Beef Stew Soup Noodles ($19.00). Both were excellent! From a value perspective, the Beef Stew Soup Noodles offered more for your money with a generous portion of beef, soup, and noodles, while the Sesame Sauce Dry Noodles felt a bit pricey for the portion size. We recently tried a similar dish at another well-known Taiwanese restaurant in DTLA, but we preferred Dai Ho's creamy sesame flavor. The Beef Stew Soup Noodles were cooked perfectly - the noodles were bouncy, and the broth was fragrant, spicy, and not overly oily. My wife, who is Chinese and lived in Taiwan, says they're authentic, but not as good as the ones in Taiwan, but better than anything we've had here. We will definitely be back the next time we are craving authentic Taiwanese noodles!

All the noodle dishes were yummy. The owner recommended the pork shank that she simmered for over 3-4 hours, and it was delicious. The owner walked about the tables and talked to the regulars. It felt like having a meal at a relative's home. I'd recommend going right about the time they open to avoid waiting in line

The best beef noodle soup in the SGV! I've heard about this place for a while but it wasn't the most convenient to go with their hours. Well I'm glad I finally tried it. The noodles were the perfect size and chewiness. The broth was beefy, slightly spicy, and perfectly seasoned without being too soy sauce heavy or herb/anise heavy. The meat was so tender and not dry at all. Literally no notes, perfect beef noodle soup in every aspect. So hearty and comforting.

Dai Ho is a family run restaurant in the heart of Temple City. They have amazing noodle dishes, you can't go wrong with anything you order there. My go to dish is the Taiwanese beef noodle soup. It's the perfect portion size and the broth is so rich and delicious. They close as soon as they are out of food for the day. The service is great too, they are very quick with their orders and the staff are very friendly. I recommend this place for anyone looking for some comfort food.

It's been a while since we've been back here. While the atmosphere and food pretty much remained the same, my overall enjoyment of the experience has declined. I think with so many other choices for Taiwanese noodles nowadays, I no longer find the food here all that special. I've outgrown it. 3.5 stars.

Craving Taiwan Flavor and Noodles? Dai Ho specializes in comfort food and taste so good. My family loves this place for reliable taste. Ordered the following: 1. Dan Dan Noodles (Peanut Sauce) extra spicy **** 2. Vegetal Dry Cold Noodles **** 3. Chicken Noodle Soup

Came on a Saturday afternoon at around noon and the restaurant was packed! The wait wasn't long and we were seated promptly. Ambiance is definitely on the more casual end. Service was attentive. Heads up: restaurant only takes Zelle/cash and is only open from 11:30AM-2PM. 1. Beef stew noodle soup- rich, bold and flavorful broth. Beef was also very tender and fresh. Definitely a comforting, satisfying bowl- but slightly on the pricey side for what it is. Parking can be a bit difficult with the small lot in the back but you can definitely find street parking in the front.

Delicious beef noodle soup! Staff were friendly and the food came out pretty quickly. The place can get popular and it's not a large building, so plan accordingly. No credit cards, just cash or Zelle.

One of the best dry meat noodles in the area. It is on the pricey side, especially if you add side dishes, but the flavor makes it worth trying at least once. The interior is quite small, and their limited hours make it a bit challenging to dine here. There is a small parking lot behind the restaurant.

This restaurant is alright. The Taiwanese beef noodle soup is solid but nothing that will knock your socks off or make you want to make the nearly 50 min drive from Hollywood to Temple City. Honestly, they may be running off the fame that came with being recognized in the Michelin food guide but have slipped in their quality since then? I'm not sure. My family came here at about 12:30 on a Friday afternoon. The small parking lot was filled up but there was plenty of street parking on Las Tunas. I was thinking the inside was going to be packed like the parking lot but there were plenty of tables available. We all order their signature beef noodle soup. Like I said, it was solid but nothing spectacular. Honestly, I think the beef noodle soup restaurant in the international terminal of the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport was tastier. I think what I was expecting was a stronger star anise flavor in the beef and broth but it was lacking. It did have a nice spiciness at the mild level so if you request for spicy be ready to bring some tissue paper for your nose.

My family ordered: Beef Stew Soup Noodles Sesame Sauce Dry Noodles Beef Tripe, Dried Bean Curd, Pork Shank Taiwanese parents were happy with the taste of the food and instantly connected with the owner. Rich flavor of beef broth, beef chunks very tender, proper chewiness and good portion of noodles. Mom was impressed with sesame sauce noodles. Service was good. Decent amount of seating for small to medium size groups. Very pricey...but quality was legit.

*** Michelin Bib Gourmand *** ** Los Angeles Times 101 Best Restaurants: Hall of Fame ** Don't let the mixed reviews fool you! Dai Ho Restaurant in Temple City, without a doubt, makes one of the absolute best beef noodle soups in all of San Gabriel Valley and the Greater Los Angeles area. This opinion comes from someone who loves the dish and orders it frequently. Dai Ho had been in my bookmarks forever, but being that this place is only open 3 hours a day (11:30am - 2:30pm), 6 days per week, it's definitely a meal you need to plan your day around, especially if you don't live in the area. So, that's what I decided to do this past Saturday. As I didn't know what to expect in terms of a line/wait time, I ended up getting here about 20 minutes before opening. I believe I was the first one there, and while a few additional parties came prior to opening, I wouldn't say it's very necessary. There were quite a few open tables throughout my meal, even as I was getting ready to leave at about 12:15pm. I'll note that most (all?) parties walk in through their back door where the parking lot is, and I believe this restaurant is also cash only. With only ~8 official items on the menu, deciding what to order shouldn't be difficult. I was here for the Beef Stew Soup Noodles, which I believe is what they are most famous for. Priced at $19, this definitely isn't the cheapest beef noodle soup in the area, but it's probably the highest quality. I found the flavor of the broth to be phenomenal, and the noodles were perfect in soaking it all up. The beef admittedly wasn't my favorite style, but the leaner pieces were extremely delicious and tender. As one of only 38 restaurants currently in the Los Angeles Times Hall of Fame, I would say Dai Ho is a must-try lunch spot.

Grab a basket of the fried sesame scallion bread and get something saucy to dunk it in. Green Onion Sesame Pie: This prized basket of northern-style flatbread is probably what most people here are waiting for. The fried bread is cut into wedges with a crispy crackling exterior topped with fragrant sesame seeds. Inside, the bread layers are soft, pillowy, and bursting with green onions. Of course, it was the first thing that arrived, so we each voraciously ate a wedge on its own. Fish Filet with Bean Sauce: If you have enough self control, wait until they bring out the fish. The sauce is thick and savory. There's so much flavor from the minced garlic, fermented black beans, and scallions. The silky sauce seem to find a way into all the nooks and crannies of the stellar bread. Fried Red Yeast Pork Belly: The cooking technique of this dish is pretty cool. This is like a crispy char siu. The rich pork belly is marinated in red yeast rice wine for its aromatic flavor. It is coated in tapioca flour and then fried. The edges are crispy and kind of chewy while the meat is juicy and tender. Tofu Skin, Soy Beans, and Mustard Greens: The super thin tofu sheets and soy beans are a Shanghainese classic. With finely chopped mustard greens, the dish is a delightful study of textures: crunchy greens, chewy soy beans, and snappy from the tofu skin. The flavor is neutral and nourishing. Parking: It looks like there are only street parking spots, which there are plenty of. But, they have a lot in the back accessible through the alley by Alessandro Avenue.

I would eat the sesame bread every day. It was crispy on the outside and so soft and fluffy on the inside. Delicious especially when you dip it in the fish bean sauce. The fish in bean sauce was perfectly cooked and the sauce was savory and a perfect companion to the sesame bread. The mustard green, tofu skin and soy beans was good. I've had better as it was a little too salty. But this dish paired perfectly with everything else we ate. The highlight and unexpected stand out was the pork belly. I honestly didn't know what to expect when we ordered this dish. I thought it would be more like a braised dish. But man was I surprised. This is essentially char Siu that they batter like the Taiwanese pork chops. So you know this is a winning dish. This place isn't too big and they had a line out the door with people waiting for dinner. Definitely come here early. Staff was friendly and as quick as they could be. Definitely will come back.

Pricing is more than other places but the portion is large enough to have leftovers or feed two so it's acceptable. I get the tendon only beef noodle soup, as I like the texture of well cooked tendon so much. The flavor of the broth is rich and concentrated. The noodles have a bouncy chew texture and doesn't soak up the broth even when refrigerated overnight. The amount and size of tendon they give here is phenomenal, never seen quality and quantity like this really justifies the pricing. The wonton soup is also a large portion, that is sharable. The wontons are different from Hong Kong style, a big size and just ground meat no shrimp. I wouldn't order this again as the beef noodle soup is just so much better. Chilled cucumber salad was addicting and small enough portion to be finished off in one sitting. Crunchy and marinated in a quick pickle this was so yummy as a side dish. You can order soup to-go or even refrigerated so you can reheat at home in your own convenience. Limited menu but if you do one thing right it's all you need. They do share the lot with several other establishments. The lot doesn't really get busy, so you shouldn't have any problems with finding parking. I did notice that some spots are smaller than others. Food: I ordered a mild spicy popcorn chicken and minced bowl/ plate. The popcorn chicken was very flavorful, crunchy, tender, and juicy. Big portion for like $10. The Taiwanese seasoning mix brought me right back to the night markets to Taiwan. It's truly the 5 spice powder that hits the spot. The batter wasn't thick, so the chicken didn't taste very battery/ cakey. That's what I hate about some places that make popcorn chicken. It also wasn't too spicy for me. It was just right. I ordered the minced bowl, which is actually a plate. For like $12, it was actually pretty good and the portions was huge. The boiled / blanched cabbage and broccoli were soft, sweet, and tasty. I could taste the sesame oil on it. It wasn't salty. The sweet corn and diced juicy tomatoes combo was good too. The boiled tea egg was pretty delicious. You can actually taste the tea and soy sauce. The egg was nice and soft. And now, for the braised minced pork. The pork was very delicious and it just melted in my mouth. I love that there were some fatty pieces of pork too in the dish. It balanced out some of the pieces of pork, which had too much meat in it. Definitely a very savory and rich dish. Omg and the sauce from the braised minced pork drizzled over the rice was just so perfect! It made the rice extremely delectable. This is hands down one of my favorite Taiwanese dishes, and it was made perfectly. Staff: The staff here are very friendly, welcoming, and kind. They are closing this restaurant down in February 2026 due to rising rent and the landlord's unwillingness to upgrade the place. So sad. I'm seriously upset to see this place go.
