    Crispy Pancake with Braised Pork
    Julius M.

My experience with Mama Noodle was a bit of a rollercoaster. I initially tried to order through an app, but my order was rejected. When I decided to go in person, I was told they were busy with a large order and had to wait about 30 minutes. I returned at 11 am and was finally able to place my order for the Signature Summer Noodle Salad and the Crispy Pancake with Braised Pork. Despite the rocky start, the food was worth the wait. The Signature Summer Noodle Salad had excellent flavor and felt incredibly refreshing--a true summer dish. The Crispy Pancake with Braised Pork was also pretty good; however, I thought the filling was too little. Overall, the food is good, that's what really matters. I will definitely buy them again.

Food: - liang pi (glutinous cold noodles): 8.5/10, very authentic sauce, nutty and salty - rou jia mo (Chinese chopped meat hamburger): 9.5/10, better than the other ones I've had in restaurants nearby, meat filling is super flavorful - summer price special $9.99 per dish! Service: - friendly staff - fast service - they make the dish when you order so the rice noodle does not stick together Ambiance: - spacious parking lot - booth seats and tables available - shares the same space as Duke bakery

Liangpi (凉皮), or "cold skin noodles,"

My aunt and I were buying bread at Dukes bakery and wanted to try Mama Noodles for dinner. The chef, Shawn, was super friendly and patient as we decided on what to get. My aunt ordered their Signature Summer Noodle Salad and I ordered their Beef Marinated Cold Noodles. Their signature noodles is called Liangpi (凉皮), or "cold skin noodles". It's a popular, refreshing Chinese dish from the Shaanxi Province, known for its wide, chewy, and slippery noodles made from wheat or rice starch. Mama noodles are served cold with their delicious dressing of chili oil, black vinegar, garlic, and sesame paste, along with toppings like shredded cucumber, bean sprouts, and cilantro. It was super flavorful and great on this Hot LA summer day. We will definitely be back to try their other items. Please support this small place and give them a try... great service and excellent food!

Crispy pork burger (I took a bite already)

Cute place, share room with Duke Bakery now. No big sign outside, and I really don't like this parking lot... But! I like the noodle salad! It's just good amount and with a lot of sauce (I love extra sauce), and after put all sauce in the noodle will suck the juice in and make this dish more flavorful. I also ordered the crispy pork burger but I got a different feel as I have tried before, not what I wanted but hard to say I don't like it. Well, I'll try something else next time!

Are you kidding me???? God! Look what I ve found! 卷凉皮 in LA! That's crazy! This is not just regular Liang Pi but the best way to enjoy it like a burrito. With full of veggies inside and wrapped with wheat starch. Located inside Duke bakery. Parking spaces are available in the plaza. Server is so friendly and helpful with the order. I'll definitely come back for more soon again.

Generous amount of food and souces.

You walk in thinking, "I'll just grab a quick bowl," and suddenly there's a noodle master stretching dough like he's training for the Olympics. Their Lanzhou-style noodles? Fresh, chewy, and honestly a little too good--they'll ruin instant ramen for you forever. The Lan noodle soup is so rich and savory. The died mixed noodle feels like a warm hug... if hugs came with chili oil and a kick that sneaks up on you. It's a small, busy spot, so yeah, you might wait--but don't worry, the line moves fast. Plus, it gives you time to emotionally prepare for choosing your noodle shape. Thin? Wide? Triangle? This is not a decision to take lightly. One wrong move and you'll be thinking about it halfway through your bowl like, "I should've gone wider."

They have a small and large sweet and sour chicken rice plate. I had gotten the small size just to try it out, but it was surprisingly good (5/5). The pork sandwich bun was decent (4/5) since the beef was tasty but the sandwich bun could be better. We also had the traditional beef noodle soups with either the wide flat and triangle ones. You can't go wrong with these freshly made pulled noodles, and they are very hearty portions. Flavor is good and the beef is very tender. The smashed cucumbers were decent also (4/5), but nothing spectacular about them. Service is very quick, attentive and pleasant. This is a good go to spot for a quick meal. The dining room doesn't seat a lot of people so try not to come during busy dining hours on weekends to avoid a long wait.

It was my…read morefirst time ordering takeout from here but I dined in before and enjoyed their ramen noodles. I placed my order through their website and ordered the original Nagoya Mazesoba non-spicy with poached egg (15.29). I selected the earliest pick up time and then headed to the restaurant a few minutes before. However, to my surprise, the staff told me that my order wasn't ready yet and would need another 10 to 15 minutes. This is already after the 15 minutes of the promised due time when I placed my order, so I had no choice but to wait outside the store. This made my experience annoying because now I waited a total 25 minutes for my food. They should not have put an asap ordering with a due time if their kitchen wouldn't be able to meet the time. It seemed to me that their kitchen forgot to cook my order until I arrived at the store and they noticed the order, because my order was ready 10 minutes after I arrived and waited outside. The only good thing is the staff was nice enough to bring out my food instead of letting me go inside to get it after the time they told me passed. This is why I had to drop a star in my review. As for the noodles, it is similar to my memory of how it tasted. The sauce is very flavorful and a bit greasy as you get to the last couple bites. But the portion is still a bit small and also the noodle texture seemed not as chewy and soft. It might be because it is takeout or the kitchen was in a rush to cook it. But overall it was just alright and not as good as I remembered. If I do come again, I will dine in to see if the noodles taste any better. Because of this, I definitely would just recommend dining in. Dining in also gets the free bowl of rice.

Everything was tender, aromatic, and clearly prepared with great care and attention to flavor and ingredients. Spice lovers will definitely be happy here, but even if you normally don't eat spicy food, you'll still find yourself going back for bite after bite. The restaurant itself is simple yet elegant, clean, and comfortable, with the warm feeling of a beloved local spot. The service is friendly, and the food comes out quickly, creating a relaxed and welcoming dining experience. Especially after a long day, having a hot bowl of their oil-splashed noodles feels genuinely comforting. If you enjoy unique Xi'an cuisine, I highly recommend giving this place a try. You can taste that the flavors have not been overly adjusted just to appeal to the masses. Instead, the restaurant preserves the authentic spirit, warmth, and bold flavors of traditional Xi'an cooking.

Overall, most of the dishes were solid. The only one I could have skipped was the chicken and potato dish...it just didn't stand out compared to everything else. I think this was the dish that we took leftovers since everyone else also felt a similar way regarding that dish. The skewers were well-cooked, but the cumin flavor was a bit overpowering for my taste, and it lingered longer than I would've liked. With that said, there were definitely some highlights. I really loved the shrimp fried rice and the beef dumplings, but my favorite was the wide noodle dish with mixed meats. It was incredibly flavorful and hit all the right notes. I actually ordered it after noticing another table enjoying the same dish. Honestly, their reactions said everything and it absolutely lived up to the expectation. The owner was warm and welcoming, which added to the overall experience. The restaurant itself is very clean, with bright lighting and a modern aesthetic that makes it feel inviting. Parking is also convenient, with plenty of space available in the back garage. All in all, it's a spot I'd recommend for anyone looking to try authentic flavors from the Xi'an region.

Definitely recommend requesting one if available. Started with the berry mojito and lemonade. The berry mojito was refreshing and loaded with real berries and mint, while the lemonade had a nice balance of sweetness and tartness. For appetizers, the popcorn chicken was crispy, juicy, and packed with basil flavor. The crispy sweet chili wings were one of my favorite dishes of the night -- super crispy with a sweet and spicy glaze that kept me going back for more. We also ordered the honeycomb platter which came with a variety of small bites. My favorites were the tamago, scallops, and shrimp tempura. The ying yang ramen bowl was a great option because it lets you try both tonkotsu and miso ramen in one bowl. Rich broth, chewy noodles, and a perfectly jammy egg made it very satisfying. The omurice was another standout and came with a fun presentation tableside. The fluffy egg over fried rice paired really well with the pork tonkatsu on the side. Dessert was also solid. The matcha tiramisu had a nice matcha bitterness balanced by sweet cream, and the cherry blossom jelly was light, floral, and refreshing with a nice chew from the agar boba. Overall, a fun dining experience with a big menu, tasty food, and great ambiance. Worth checking out if you're in the area.
