Green Sauteed String Bean

Very comforting and good prices, but you can get significantly better versions of all 3 of these dishes in a 10 mile radius (not even) of this place for the same price. Mapo was probably the best of all of these 3 dishes though and the service is very fast.

Food is good here, solid! I prefer it than din tai fung- prices make more sense, more taste and authentic. Plus can't go wrong with those free pancakes that are made fresh to table. Good service, especially for Chinese resto (hehe), can get a lot more bang for your buck. TVs are a bit distracting but most restaurants have TVs so there's not really a them issue but a me issue. Quaint and not the cleanest but also not here for elite atmosphere (guess if you want that then DTF is the place to go to). I'd get some dumplings, veg and a nice soup if I were you!

Free green onion pancake for orders for $20! Overall quality 3.8/5. The soup dumplings skin is thicker than DTF but overall still tasty. I love the mung cold noodles and eggplant. The place is a bit small but lots of parking in the back lot

Never been that into dumplings but that changed when I ate here. The buns and dumplings were steamed and fried to perfection. Everything had great texture and flavor. And the price point was great. The restaurant has plenty of seating and parking as well.

Was a bit let down by the quality of the food. This place was so busy I thought the food would be really good. The dumplings were $13-14 for 8, and the sizes were good, but the wrappers were all broken and quite disappointing. The green onion pancake was free for order above $20, but were obviously store bought and very dry and not tasty. The interior was clean and staff are decent.

The restaurant itself is pretty small so if you're coming with a larger party, it might get a bit tough. Parking is available in the back of the restaurant. Their restroom is oddly placed in the back of the restaurant. You have to walk outside and around to get to it. Their dumpling skin is on the thicker side so if you like thin skin, this is not it. ESP their potsticker, the skin was so thick!! But I will say that the dipping sauce was pretty darn good. The flavored stewed beef noodle soup was spicy and oily. I could've totally went without this and the beef roll pancake. $13 for beef roll pancake which was bland and cold like it just came out the fridge??? That's a big no no!! AND the whole thing just falls apart as you pick it up to eat. Also, these items had thumbs up right next to it on the menu. They should take those down until they adjust the taste first. Now to the service, I didn't have a problem until she came to drop off our check that we didn't even ask for yet. That's kind of rude as it gives a sense of urgency for you to hurry up and leave.

Staff was friendly was feeling horrible all day and needed some soup. Restaurant was clean. Food came out at a decent time. I'd advise to use the restroom before you go. They have an outside restroom which is like a storage closet. Other than that food was delicious and staff was friendly

Beef Chow Fun

Very unsuspecting but utterly fantastic Chinese spot. Definitely swing by if your around the area. I got a little of everything dim sum pork dumplings, beef chow fun, Kung pao chicken, and lamb. Literally everything that came out was better than the next. My favorites were the Kung pao and lamb. Both were flavor explosions in my mouth. Small spot with limited seating so don't be surprised if you have to wait. Parking was a little tough but there's plenty street and around back. Go crazy and get everything you want. It'll be worth it and it's even better the day after.

Added this. You call this pan fried dumplings? Joke.

Service was okay but the food was just bad or maybe a bad night. Pan fried dumpling, mushy and the bottom was not even crispy. The skin was mush. All the meat fell out if tried to pick it up. The Singapore fried noodles just a mess of turmeric covered noodles. Could not taste anything else. All greasey and oily. The pan fried pork buns, same thing the bun were all mushy and wet. The bottom of the buns no toasty crispy skin. A wet ball of dough with meat in it. The spicy wonton, where not very spicy but it seems like they added sugar to it cause it was sweet. Never had that before. The only reason I have 2 stars is the service was prompt but I would be prompt if I was getting a 18 to 20% tip from all my customers.

Onion pancake. Free when you check in on Yelp.

On this recent visit. The ribs were tasty and ultra garlic laden, chicken fried rice just the right amount of vegetables and chicken, string beans with black beans delish and the grand daddy of them all the juicy pork dumplings are a good size and juicy as it's supposed to be. Service is quick and the restaurant is clean. We're regulars here. Been coming here for years. I've brought out of town guests here and they enjoy this spot too! Parking in the back is easy and there are a few spots on the street.

The bottled Honey Green Iced Tea they serve is pretty refreshing, not too sweet. All the items we got were delish, hot, and fresh! Fast table service. Small interior, so when busy you have to wait by the railing entrance area. But we came before the dinner rush hour on a Friday and got seated immediately. Their restroom was dirty (located behind the restaurant by walking outside and heading to the first door on the left corner), so minus 1 star because of that. Also, the inside of the restaurant got more and more colder the longer we were there. It was harder to enjoy food with the A/C blasting lol they need to not make it freezing temperatures, sort of ruins the dining experience.

I tried several of their dishes, and they were all delicious. Some standouts were the drunken chicken, fried battered fish, and "lion head" meatballs with soup. By the time all the dishes were eaten, the rice hadn't come out yet still. The interior looked nice! There was a big TV screen inside. It made me fee as if I was transported to Asia. Overall, I enjoyed my meal here and I'd come back!

We ordered pork soup dumplings, pan fried pork buns, pork potstickers, thick chowmein with beef, Shanghai rice cake with pork and pork belly noodle soup for entrees. The wrapper of the soup dumplings is a bit thicker and chewier than Din Tai Fung. The pork filling is juicy and flavorful. We really liked the noodles and rice cake. We also got coconut lava balls, osmanthus ice jelly, and sesame mochi. The osmanthus ice jelly is nice and refreshing, and not too sweet. The coconut balls and sesame mochi were just ok. The staff is friendly. The decor in the restaurant is cute. I'd come back to try more dishes.

Pork Soup XLB - This had too much soup, to the point that each dumpling just sank (you can clearly see it in the photos). A well made one is supposed to sit upright and not bottom heavy. Overall, I didn't think it was better than Din Tai Fung or Seven Grams. It had too much soup, and the strong pork smell really stood out. Pan-Fried dumplings - These were ok, but nowhere near the best I've had in SoCal. Crab XLB - This was probably the biggest letdown. It was the first time I've had crab soup dumplings where the pork smell completely overpowered the crab. I could barely taste any crab at all. The crab roe noodles were also underwhelming. Compared to versions I've had in Shanghai, these were much less flavorful, and there wasn't enough crab roe to coat all the noodles. Glutinous shumai - Was acceptable, but nothing memorable. Egg pancake with ham sausage - Skip. Wasn't worth the calories. Service was okay, but a little slow.

All of the dishes tasted so good. It had a comforting feeling to it. My favorite was the pork chop fried rice. The fried rice had wok hei to it and was flavorful. The beef noodle soup was also flavorful and they give a good amount of tender beef pieces. The beef roll was just okay. The dough could've been a bit thicker and crunchier. It had the texture of a tortilla instead. Service was excellent! The server was quick and attentive. We received our food within 10 minutes of ordering. Nostalgia dish here was always their JiaoHuo JiaoHuo / Spicy Combination Marinade. We asked if we could change any of the choices, and were told yes as long as it is one of the items from the 5 included (Pig Ears, Bean Curd, Seaweed Knots, Beef Tripe, and Spicy Beef Tendon). Mom & I always add our own vinegar and chili oil to taste and it tastes just as I remembered. We also tried: -Half Tendon/Half Beef Noodle Soup, this was good. We took out the noodles so they wouldn't drain all the broth. Broth tastes good, and decent amount of beef. -Cucumber appetizer was okay, it's just salted. They use Persian cucumbers that were fresh & crunchy. -Shanghai Style Pan Fried Rice Cakes, this had good toppings but the rice cakes themselves didn't have the wok hei of the wok and were a bit dry. -Stinky Tofu (fried) is a skip for me. After my recent trip to Taipei again, the ones here were no bueno. It needs the pickled cabbage, and the garlic soy sauce. They weren't really stinky either. Service was a little slow with the lunch rush. One unisex bathroom available that was fairly clean. Plentiful parking in shared parking lot with the plaza. Will be back again to get my JiaoHuo JiaoHuo cravings satisfied.

We arrived around 6:15pm without reservations, and unfortunately, every table was taken. The wait ended up being ~15 minutes, which was not too bad. To eat, we ordered the Stewed Duck Soup Noodle ($13.99), Shanghai Style Sweet And Sour Spare Rib ($16.99), and the Crab Meat With Dry Noodle ($14.99). Each dish was satisfying. If I had to pick a favorite, it would probably be the Stewed Duck Soup Noodle. The Crab Meat With Dry Noodle (one of my favorite dishes I tried in Shanghai) was admittedly a bit of a letdown. Overall, our experience here was positive one. Service was friendly, and the food came out surprisingly fast. The space itself is on the smaller side, but the ambiance is nice and intimate. They are not super big inside but they do have two private rooms where we got seated with another party, which wasn't bad since we each just eat our own meals. They give free tea, which tasted like pretty good quality tea, and I drank quite a few cups. They also give free edamame and miso soup as appetizers, which was nice. The miso soup has some seaweed and soft tofu which I enjoyed. We ordered the Stir Fried Dry Bean Curd w/ Pork, Braised Pork in Brown Sauce, Stir Fried Cauliflower (not spicy), Fried Squid in Three Flavor Sauce, and the Shanghai Style Sweet Sour Pork. They are super busy but all the dishes were served fast, within 5 minutes of each other and only after maybe 10 minutes from when we ordered. The dishes all looked super good and not too oily. The portions are also reasonable for the price and is just enough for our group to share. My favorite was the Stir Fried Bean Curd w Pork and the Braised Pork. Both were flavorful but not too salty. And the braised pork was had the right amount of fat and the meat was cooked just right so it was tender and not too dry. The others were also seasoned well and we enjoyed it. The least favorite was the Shanghai Style Sweet Sour Pork because it was more sour than sweet and didn't have much meat on the bones, but I still thought it was pretty good. All the dishes were good and very worth the price. It is not something you can find easily at dinner time, especially with this quality. The white rice is also free of charge which is so rare!
