The duck is around $28 for the whole duck, which is amazing in this economy. It's a small store so seating is limited. I've never personally dined in and always ordered takeout. And the boss lady that runs the front of the house? She is cool, sassy and a multi-tasking queen. You can tell she puts heart and pride into serving the customers and food. When placing the phone order, she will try to make sure that the food is ready when you arrive. And she will always say in mandarin in an almost scolding tone: "hurry up and go home and eat the food. 4/5 vegan and vegetarian options are plentiful: Lin's Club is a small family owned restaurant located in that cramped plaza at the intersection of Sixth Street and Duarte near the border of Arcadia and Monrovia. They have many classic Chinese dishes at a truly affordable price point. The food: We ordered four different dishes: green beans (v), stir fried egg plants (v), mapo tofu (v), and chicken with rice. For the first three dishes, we clarified with the owner to make this vegetarian (also vegan), which she was able to do very easily and without question. We communicated with her in Chinese, but she also spoke English to us, when we discovered that our Chinese was likely not as fluent as native speakers. Everything was flavorful, without relying on just an overwhelming amount of salt, and we really enjoyed the green beans that seemed to be cooked in fermented bean paste. I found the eggplants particularly tasty too! The service: This small store had so much business, so we did spend some time waiting before we could actually order our meal. The restaurant itself was filled with folks dining in, and there were multiple parties waiting for take out. Even so, once we did order our meal, it didn't take too long for all four dishes to come out. For these reasons, I can't say service was particularly attentive, but they were still polite and I felt like they did try to make it a good experience for us, even if it was so busy. Opened decently late if you want dinner after the regular dinner rush. Lots of parking in the plaza it's located at and there's a decent amount of seating inside. Small restaurant but we were accommodated. My boyfriend spoke with the worker in Mandarin the entire time but apparently she was worried that we didn't order any veggies, but laughed when he pointed out that we ordered the pickled veggies. I guess that count! For our dinner we got the: cumin pork knuckle (boyfriend and my friend really liked this and I liked whatever bites I can get out of it since I love cumin seasoned meats, but the actual cut of meat is not my favorite since I'm a baby who doesn't like chewiness or bones, but everyone else really liked it), hot pepper chicken, and the spicy sauerkraut (our pickled veggies, nice hit of sour taste to go with the spiciness of the chicken and the cumin of the pork). It's really weird this place has a 4.6. We went in expecting really good food. Instead they didn't have the ac on and it was 100 degrees outside. They waited until more ppl came in before turning it on so my husb and I sat there for 15 min sweating. Their service borders on rude. And the food wasn't good practically inedible. Price is very affordable and portions are generous and delicious. We enjoyed everything we got, but the main star was the hot pepper chicken which I highly recommend. Lady working (guessing owner) is very nice but seems super busy running around. I just realized I was 'First to Review' Lin's Club years ago, so here's a long overdue update. I don't quite remember what they served in the beginning, but I'm very satisfied with everything they have now. I've also developed a new appreciation for smaller family owned businesses, and found that these places often have better food, better service and much better customer interaction. The owner here is so personable that I feel like I'm at auntie's house. If I order several dishes that are too similar, she'll suggest something else to have a wider range of flavors. That's thinking for her customers. I love spicy food, and Lin's Club is near the top of my go-to list. Their hot pepper chicken is one of the best, full of flavor and not scorching hot. The cumin beef, smoked tea duck, dan dan mein, spicy beef pot and many more are all so good. If you have a tolerance and love for Szechuan spicy food, Lin's Club needs to be in your list. The inside is small, as in one of the smallest restaurants I've ever been to, and service can be slow if they get a little busy, but the great flavor is there. So be patient, open minded, hungry and polite and you'll have a great experience. Very small spot. About 5 tables. There is a language barrier but it was ok. I was craving some beef noodle soup. I searched on google and Yelp and this spot popped up in the searches. I got the house special beef noodle soup and it was not what I was expecting. Broth was just very tasteless. Noodles however was really good. The beef was good but very thin. The restaurant is pretty small and cozy, but the menu has a lot of interesting dishes if you're into authentic flavors. Shreded pork w/ garlic sauce ( the tastiest dish out of all four but it was standard chinese " sweet noodle sauce " taste, there wasn't any garlic taste) Mapo tofu ( tons of spicy pepper oil but not much flavor, bland) beef with black pepper sauce ( kinda bland taste wise, the look of very blackened beef was kinda weird.) This little restaurant is a gem hidden in the strip shopping plaza in Monrovia/Arcadia area. There are only few tables but we were lucky to get seated without wait around 4pm Sunday. We (three of us) ordered four dishes - shredded potatoes with green pepper, sautéed eggplant with garlic sauce, hot pepper chicken and cumin beef and rice. This small unassuming restaurant that far away from most of the food scene that I'm used to, is one of my top 5 restaurants on my list. I first came here for the tea smoked duck because I saw that the price looked great and i had never had tea smoked duck before. Since then I've been here several times because everything I've had here has delivered in both taste and quality and I can't wait to come back here to try more! Tea smoked duck (5/5): there's so much duck for how much it costs and everything about it is amazing. The tea smoke is very prominent and it makes itself known in a good way. Breast meat is good, thigh meat is good and tastes great the next day too! Beef dry pot (5/5): there's a perfect blend of spices that this mix of veggies and beef get cooked into and what's nice is that it's really not as oily as other dry pots that I've had at other places. My favorite part about this dry pot is actually the cauliflower & potato and would consider getting the cauliflower dry pot over the beef next time. Hot pepper chicken (5/5): I'm usually not a fan of this dish because of so many reasons. Sometimes there's too many peppers and too little chicken. Sometimes the chicken is more bone than chicken. I decided to give Lin's club version a chance because the pictures on Yelp looked like it was a lot of chicken and when I got it, it was completely different than what I was used to. There was SO much chicken and it was all boneless and it was seasoned so well too. The owners of the place are very kind, but they are also so busy with making all of their online orders so please be patient with them. Mom and pop type operation / small cafe located in a strip mall in Monrovia. They serve up some really delicious, fresh Chinese food at very reasonable prices. What I also love about this place is that it's also open relatively on the later side for this area (seriously...lots of places in this area seem to close early). This is perfect for even stopping by and ordering take out if you are leaving work a little later on the way home. The portions are great if you want to order for family style meals (dining in or take out) or if you just want to order a couple of items that will last a few meals as a solo diner. The folks here are very kind and helpful. This place first popped up on my radar a while back because of the high reviews when I was looking for dinner in the area after work. After eating ordering and eating the food from here, I can see why. I came in about 30 min before closing on a weeknight and ordered mapo tofu and sauteed eggplant along with an order of rice. I ordered to go because I didn't want them to wait around since they were closing soon. This lasted me about 2-3 meals and both dishes were very tasty. Would love to come back and order one of their noodle dishes or just more items from the menu in general. Such a great gem. A super tiny little place with some very good Sichuan food. I ordered the Hot Pepper Chicken (La Zi Ji) and the Cumin Lamb and asked for more 'mala' for both dishes. The food came out relatively fast. The portions were very generous. But, the Hot Pepper Chicken was ridiculously ginormous. I've had this dish at many other places and the flavor was great. There was significantly more chicken that I've had elsewhere. And the prices were really reasonable compared to most Sichuan restaurants in the SGV (or SoCal) area. Probably it's better for dine in. stinky tofu lives up to its name. it's strong. when deep fried it's nicely crispy with strong tofu taste. hot and spicy fillet fish/beef/slice pork - the owner's favorite. this one is kinda like twice cooked pork, which is meat in soup-ish gravy. full of flavor, smells amazing. spicy and usually oily but Lin's make it slightly less oily. really good. not as nice for take out though. cauliflower stir fry is perfect for your second dish on shared table. doesn't come with any protein, but your first dish would already have protein. perfectly cooked, it's a joy to eat. mapo tofu -- very interesting. it's different. it's kinda like a marriage between normal spicy mapo tofu and Taiwanese braised dish. but it's distinctively mapo tofu though, but not as spicy as most Chinese restaurants. it's deep and complex, with slight mala aroma. stir-fried pork intestines and scallions dry noodle -- portion is BIG. the noodles is nice, chewy, and you can taste the wheat in it. they are medium thick. perfect noodles, I say. the sauce is deep brown and buttery, like butter fried? it's slightly sweet but still savory, and it's rich. don't get misjudged by my choice of word 'sweet' though, it's not a sweet kind of dish like honey glazed stuff. it's more like a dry(er) version of braised sauce. it's nice and flavorful, and it elevated the plump pork intestines, making it a nice velvety buttery stir-fry on top of the noodles. read more

We love the spicy numbing flavor of the chicken and the crispiness of the sautéed green beans. we tried some new things today, their spicy fish with preserve mustard plant, three item cold plate, and black pepper beef rice. I would probably just order the fish again but I think I prefer their Hot & Spicy Fish Fillet and Sautéed Eggplant w/ Garlic Sauce to go with our usual order. Another dish we also asked for less spice and it was a good level for me and my sensitive stomach.
